Caracterização da fabricação e uso de compósitos poliméricos contendo fibras naturais com ênfase no polipropileno/sisal a partir da análise de documentos de patentes

Natural fibers have became important as substitute for synthetic fiber reinforcement and filling in polymer composites, looking for better properties, lower cost and appeal of sustainability. To do so, there are challenges and limitations to be overcome, such as the compatibility of fiber/matrix, the processing temperature, the moisture absorption and so on. The global auto industry, including Brazil, has led the use of composites containing natural fibers in commercial products and also serves as reference to other economic areas. In Brazil, the fomentation agencies have supported projects in natural fibers and their application in composites, with a significant amount of academic research groups working in this area. The aim of this study was to analyze the situation and trends in the manufacturing and use of materials containing natural fibers through patent analysis, with emphasis on sisal, and also to simulate a sisal/polypropylene composite in home appliance part. Materials, processes, practices and actors involved in these composites were mapped, based on indicators made from patent documents. The analysis of patent documents associated with natural fibers and their use in polymer composites, in the period of 1960 to 2009, demonstrated the growing importance of this subject in the world and particularly in Brazil. Among other results, it was found that Brazil holds the 16th position in patenting associated with natural fibers in general and the 12th place in patenting on the sisal fiber, despite being the world's largest producer of sisal and one of the largest producers of natural fibers in general. Companies and individuals assignees have the largest number of patent documents, when compared to universities and institutes. It was possible to make recommendations for the development of a sisal/polypropylene part through exploratory structural simulation. It was also needed to generate new data to enable simulation of the injection process.

Coletivo Cê: processos e percursos de redesterritorialização: aprendendo com a experiência

The framework presented here proposes to share a cartography of the processes and paths of the deterritorialization and reterritorialization of Coletivo Cê. It is also a scratch to the surface about the knowledge of experience and ethical, aesthetic and political movements in research about education. We will present ways that allowed a research carried out from the perspective of implication, requiring a vibrating body and implied in the research. The author of this research has been working on the Coletivo Cê for more than seven years. The Coletivo Cê is a group of artists who research the language of theater, in the city of Votorantim, São Paulo. This research goal was to trace the processes and routes from the year of its foundation in 2009 to the present day. Within this proposal, there was also a close look at the concepts of authors who lead and compose the living and pulsating picture of cartography, such as Gilles Deleuze, Félix Guattari, Suely Rolnik, Jacques Ranciére, Jorge Larrosa Bondía, Paulo Freire, sociologist Boaventura de Souza Santos and others who believe in the work of thought as a vibrating space of our urgencies. An intellectual production in the field of Education, proposing cartography as an aesthetic possibility for the urgencies that plague us, able to understand the "educate" mediated by artistic actions of cultural collectives groups, which can become a practice of social transformation for the emancipation of people.

Interações e viabilidade do plantio consorciado de pinhão-manso (Jatropha curcas) e girassol (Helianthus annuus L.)

With the recent advent of biodiesel in Brazil, there has been a significant increase in the number of research on the potential of utilizing oleaginous as raw material, especially in physic nut (Jatropha curcas L.), due to its superior oil technical characteristics, as well as the plant s hardiness and productivity. However, since the production of physic nut only becomes economically viable from the third year, there is a need to consider planting in intercropping manner. The aim of this study was to evaluate the interaction and the technical and economical feasibility of intercropping of jatropha and sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.), which is also an excellent source of oil for biodiesel production. The project was implemented at UFSCar / CCA in Araras, São Paulo. The jatropha seedlings were planted in May 1998, spaced 2 meters between plants and 4 meters between rows. The sowing of sunflower variety IAC Iarama was done in November 2008, between physic nut lines, with four rows spaced at fifty centimeters, with an estimated 50,000 seeds per hectare. We evaluated the sunflower plant yield, the development of physic nut and the possible allelopathic interactions between cultures. Allelopathic effects between sunflower and weeds were also investigated. We adopted the split-plot design with four replications and four combinations of consortia, whereas T1: growing sunflowers on both sides of the physic nut planting, T2: growing sunflowers west of the physic nut planting with the east side being reserved for the germination of weeds, T3: growing sunflowers to the east line of physic nut with the west side being reserved for the germination of weeds; T4: both sides of the line of physic nut were reserved for the germination of weeds. It was concluded that there was no influence on the development of jatropha vi ii plantations in intercropped with sunflower and sunflower production was not affected by physic nut. There was also a suppression of spontaneous plants in areas with sunflower. The alternative of this consortium demonstrates a good choice for the national biodiesel program.

O uso de B4C como aditivo de sinterização de SiC-Si3N4 visando o aumento da resistência à oxidação

In order to fulfill modern market requirements based on increased search for SiC Si3N4 products with high performance and good cost/benefit ratio, there is a natural need for additives able to sinter as well as decrease the inherent oxidation tendency of this products. Refractories based on SiC Si3N4 present several important thermal and mechanical properties at high temperatures which lead them to be used as sagars and overall furnace furniture. However carbides and nitrides including SiC Si3N4 are instable at high temperatures in air. The formation of a surface silica layer and other intergranulary distributed silicates, may function as oxidation protection. However, at the same time at high temperatures the thermal and mechanical properties can be badly affected. Based on these assumptions in this work it is presented a study involving the effect of boron carbide as a sintering and antioxidant protector on SiC Si3N4 used mainly kiln furniture. The results indicate that the use of boron carbide was very effective on fulfilling both requirements that is as sintering additive and anti oxidant.
