Control of Constitutionality/Conventionality in the European Union and the Preliminary Reference System

In this manuscript we raise the question of control of constitutionality/ conventionality in the European system, which is considered the most effective among the regional systems of control of constitutionality/ conventionality due to the relationship between the members’ states and the supranational system. In this sense, we start asking if whether there is or not a Constitution in Europe, then we present the basic structure of control of constitutionality/conventionality in Europe, and we finish by presenting two cases of preliminary reference system that challenge part of the effectiveness of this system.

Trampling on rocky shores by an introduced capybara population in Anchieta Island State Park, Brazil

This study describes an unusual case of trampling on intertidal rocky shores by the largest rodent, the capybara, Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris (Linnaeus, 1766). Groups of capybaras were sighted swimming, diving and resting along the rocky shores of Anchieta Island State Park, Brazil. The possible effects of daily trampling on rocky shores by a large and uncontrolled capybara population are discussed, and management and research interventions are proposed.

Lovers of the imperfect beuaty

In the panorama of the reception and re-creation in Brazil of Lesfleurs du mal (1857) by Charles Baudelaire, the anthology organized andtranslated by Guilherme de Almeida (1944) remains a source for reflectionson poetic translation and its relations with affinity and the identificationbetween translator and author, as well as between his conceptions aboutpoetry. The present article seeks to demonstrate, through the rereading ofthe poet’s translator’s notes, his persistent illuminating potential on thecharacteristics of the notorious original work and the task of translating asa convergent dialogue between poetics and different languages.

Ideology and alienation: A necessary relationship

This article results from a research focused on ideology and alienation as social complexes present in the world of men, and on fundamental determinations that connect these two categories in human thought and praxis. The study aims to reflect on the ontological foundations and roles in society of ideology and alienation, based on the thought of Georg Lukács (2013) in his work Para uma Ontologia do Ser Social [Toward the Ontology of Social Being]. The article is structured in two distinct and connected moments, discussing first ideology and the fundamental base of the concepts. Then, the work debates alienation as an ideological phenomenon, particularly when it comes to reifications and their relevance to the critique of capitalism.

Invisible Violence or from Ecstasy to Pain?

The values and roles for each gender are not socially recognized in an impartial way. It is a cultural construction that seeks, relying on the differences and, on a dichotomous hierarchy and power, to establish an inequality that reinforces the supremacy of masculinity as a value. In patriarchal culture – as a trend – men tend to be the most violent, and women to have a behavior of dependence and docility. Therefore the coupling relationships associated with fantasies of love are a space of power and are constantly harassed by experiences of servitude and domination. Difference – hierarchy – inequality – discrimination – violence, invisible feedback circuit that culture reedits daily and which expresses itself from psychological form to extreme damages primarily toward women on the amorous relationship.

Teaching health concepts in Physical Education classes through a social cognitive theory perspective

This is a sample of a master´s degree dissertation developed in the Graduate Program in XXX at XXX. Herein the objective is to assess the potential of an educational kit based on social cognitive theory (SCT) designed to teach adolescents concepts of healthy food and physical activity habits through physical education classes. Five physical education teaching resources published since 1978 until 2013 have been examined, in order to identify how health concepts have been approached. We reveal that our educational kit is in line with a multidimensional perspective of health and that it is unique, especially given that it enables an active and reflexive participation of students in actions that may foster healthy lifestyles. As a conclusion, it is discussed how SCT, our educational kit and a broad view of health are intertwined.

The teaching initiation project: a look at the supervisor teacher

Since the construction of professional knowledge is in constant and gradual development, the participation of teachers in a continued education process is essential for improving teaching practice. Supervising teachers participate in university-school interaction projects; however, few studies have investigated this subject. This study was conducted to identify the actions and the discourse of these teachers and also the possible influence of the University-School projects in the practice of each of them. We selected two teachers and analyzed the conduction of their classes at school. Teachers were interviewed after the conclusion of analyze. We have observed practices based on knowledge of experience, contradictions between the statements they made and the actions they developed in the classroom, tensions between normative and subjective, and also possibilities of making contributions from participation in the PIBID project even more significant.

PIBID Physical Education: experiences in teacher education

This study aims to describe the formative experiences of the scholarship recipients of the undergraduate course in Physical Education from 2014 to 2018. The sources of consultation were reports, curriculum lattes of PIBID grantees and material collectively produced in the school of performance. Shared teaching was a relevant, significant and unique factor for the training of future teachers. The involvement of scholarship holders culminated in participation in national and international scientific events, with the presentation and publication of studies in annals, as well as participation in extension events. At the same time, they produced didactic murals at school with topics related to the sports context and pedagogical journals, through interdisciplinary actions. Concluded that the experiences of the PIBID where the school is protagonist turns into knowledge favoring the construction of the teaching identity and the association between theory and practice and contributed to qualify the pedagogical practice in professional scope.

The Duty of International Cooperation on Human Right’s Grounding

The present research investigates if there is a duty of international cooperation on human rights’ grounding or if international collaboration is only an act of courtesy between states. This paper analyses this duty in the human rights’ theory in order to verify if its discourse and practice can build arguments capable of affirming that duty. Therefore, it will use a normative approach to the theme. The hypothesis which guides this research is that both moral and legal grounding of human rights impose an international cooperation obligation. In order to build this argument, firstly if verified how the idea of human rights is related to the idea of international cooperation is. Then, moral and legal grounding of human rights are investigated in order to understand how they can convert the ethical building of solidarity in to political action, in the shape of international cooperation.

Book Review: “O estágio profissional na (re)construção da identidade profissional em Educação Física”

The review presents the book named “O estágio profissional na (re) construção da identidade profissional em Educação Física” wrote by Paula Batista, Amândio Graça and Paula Queirós. The book describes some alternatives to the model of initial formation in Physical Education Teaching Degree, which value the teacher professional identity and the role of the internship in this process. Different texts of the book show studies that point out the necessity of approximation between the universities and schools. Moreover, the need to valorize the experience of the cooperating teachers (who works at school and helps the trainee students), appropriating the concept of community of practice. In addition, the book underlines de importance of university teachers in the internship process. So that, the students could build their professional identity since their initial formation and by this way strengthen the legitimacy of the teacher profession in Physical Education.

Invasive domestic dogs prey on wild mammals in Atlantic Rainforest fragments of southern Brazil

Invasive exotic species impact native fauna adversely and are one of the leading causes of global biodiversity change. The domestic dog can be classified as an invasive species after its access to natural areas followed by their ability to survive independently of human intervention. In Brazil, the effects of dog predation and hunting on wildlife remains unclear. In this study, we report five wild-mammal predation events involving domestic dogs in fragments of the Brazilian Atlantic Forest (northern Paraná State, Brazil). Between June and September 2018, we found that specimens of Didelphis albiventris (white-eared opossum), Dasypus novemcinctus (nine-banded armadillo), Sapajus nigritus (black capuchin), and Eira barbara (tayra) were killed by domestic dogs in both urban and rural areas. Invasive domestic dogs can pose a risk to wildlife, especially to threatened species. We suggest that diversified measures be taken to impede and reduce the access of these animals to forest fragments. Furthermore, our findings indicate that control, containment, and eradication measures can reduce the negative effects of domestic dogs on wildlife.

The academic-scientific production on electronic games in periodicals of the area of Physical Education in Brazil

The videogames industry involves professionals, spectators and supporters. With the growth of electronic games, opens up the possibility of a contemporary research. With this, the objective of this study was to analyze the academic-scientific production about this theme. To answer this question, we use Pierre Bourdieu's theory. We selected six national scientific journals where 8.735 papers were found, after the exclusion criteria, 41 texts are part of the sample. We have been able to verify that Revista Licere and Revista Motrivivência, are the main scientific journals to give vent to this discussion. Fined 11 researchers to use this theme. Two main centers of disclosure were evidenced, one leased at the Federal University of Paraná and another at the Federal University of Santa Catarina. We conclude that the academic relationship networks are possible to be observed as social positions of a subfield of investigations, moved and influenced by a scientific habitus.

Brazilian Physical Education in military government in the 1960s and 1970s

This study presents actions taken by the military government in the 1960s and 1970s for Physical Education, making it compulsory school discipline at all levels of education, starting with the 1968 University Reform and the Guidelines and Bases Law of 1971. For to understand how this process occurred, we analyzed the policies implemented by the government during the period described, among which we highlight the Campanha Nacional para o Esclarecimento Desportivo, created to promote Physical Education and promote sports practice by the population and the Diagnóstico de Educação Física/Desportos in Brazil, designed to verify the conditions of Physical Education to implement actions that could contribute to the improvement of the physical aspects and the improvement of the quality of life of the population, especially in the school context, enabling a more efficient performance related to the world of work.

Didactic procedure for teaching Planck's formula in Engineering majors

This article proposes a didactic procedure for teaching Planck's formula in engineering majors, following the cyclic sequence: Initial facts → Model-hypothesis → Logical consequences → Experimental verification. The essential elements of the quantization of energy are analyzed, with historical notes that facilitate the understanding of the phenomenon of thermal radiation, and the role that scientists played in its explanation. Initial facts in the exemplified cycle are considered, the laws of Kirchhoff, Stefan-Boltzmann and Wien, in addition to the Rayleigh-Jeans formula, and the fundamental approaches that allowed Planck to propose his hypothesis to find the theoretical solution to distribution are specified of energy in the spectrum of black body radiation, which culminates in 1900 with the proposal of the quantum of action, expressed by the universal constant h that bears his name. Once Planck's formula has been obtained, the facts that served as the basis, as particular cases, are deduced from it as logical consequences, and other relationships of importance for physics and chemistry are obtained. To close the cycle, the experimental verification is performed, taking as an empirical fact the measurement of cosmic background radiation, which behaves like the radiation of a black body at a temperature of 2.73 K. It concludes with examples of practical applications of thermal radiation, which involve some basic concepts of the theoretical elaboration of Planck: Solar energy, thermal covering and pyrometry.
