The study area is located in Uberlândia MG, in one of the experimental farms of the Federal University of Uberlândia, which is known as Glória Experimental Farm. The gully researched is located in a region of contact between Sand Stones and Basalts. In this place, the Humankind made a lot of interventions in the natural forms, and the most part of the vegetation was put down and the soil started to be used for agriculture and other Human uses. This study consists in to monitoring a gully activity, considering the erosive process engaged, the hydrological dynamics and the sediments transport. For collecting data in the field about these topics, it was necessary to construct a little dam at the mouth of gully flow, which used to improve data about water flow variation and the sediments transport, which were analyzed in the lab. Also was taken a lot of photos of the studied process, which were used in the lab analyses. The objectifies of this study were to show the influences of the erosive process by gullies in the equilibrium of the environment, specially because of the large quantity of sediments that is generated in this process. This gully is connected directly to a brook stream of inferior order of the Paraná Hydrologic Basin, and part of the large quantity of sediments produced in this gully can cause a lot of problems in Down Basin area, specially for the rivers channels and hydroelectric lakes. This shows that the problematic of gullies it is not intrinsic just to the loco where the gully is, but to all macro-basin where the gully is inserted.

This work ha as objective to analyze the intra-urban dynamics of Caldas Novas, caused by the amplification and restructuring of the hotel complex happened mainly in the end of decade of 1990. Great part of the works writings on Caldas Novas, they bring a study about the thermal waters and the use of the same ones. But an analysis of the urban and tourist growth starting from the exploration of that thermal water table, was not still made. For so much, reading of referring works about that subject, direct our researches and, were visited to the questionnaires and interviews were applied to the contractor of the hotel branch an population, respectively, what a lot aided us in the obtaining or qualitative data. We had the opportunity to know the dynamic tourist population closely and also the tourists opinion and of the resident population in the city about the tourism. We analyzed the vertical building process, essential in the reproduction of the urban soil and construction of present heterogeneous spaces in the city. The analysis the artificial public spaces also permeated our studies. Fruit of the intense exploration of the urban soil, the artificial space the urban atmospheres, being the same addressed to the tourist taste that goes by the city. We verified that the intra-urban dynamics in differentiated in the periods of larges and less tourist movement. The periods considered low season, for they are less attractive, they receive less tourists, while the periods of high season, that is to say, lingering holidays an vacations are more favorable and attractiveness for the practice of the tourism. This dynamic heterogeneous popularity is one of the responsible factors for the space, economic and tourist transformations for which the city is passing now.

The action human being in the natural environment comes generating one serie of ambient problems. The withdrawal of the natural covering for increase of the destined areas agriculture increases to each year. The deforestation is the initial point to unchain a gamma of ambient problems. It is distinguished those that are, also, influenced for the rain. The overland flow has the power, throughout its way covered in the surface, to disaggregate and to carry essential elements to the ground. Moreover, the natural characteristics of soil go separately or in set, to facilitate the sprouting of this draining on the surface. The plots had been decisive instruments in this inquiry, therefore, the data collected in field had served substantially for the interpretations contained in this work. The granulometry test is important to have in mind its texture, but, the necessity of elaborated tests exists more and to go to the field with bigger regularity, is excellent. To its end, one perceived that the necessity to study related subjects the soilloss and rainfall requires more time so that if it can implement finer tests and to help more in the search of based elements on the erosive process influenced by the overlandflow.

This essay had its origin in the uneasiness lived on the everyday teaching work and on the interaction with teachers in their teaching formation. The necessity of deconstructing mistaken impressions on the teaching identity by unraveling the Geography teachers practice was the challenge of the theme here proposed. Thus, the traced plan had as goal to study how, in their day by day pedagogical practice and along the teaching formation process, 5th to 8th grade Geography teachers in public schools, on riverside towns, on the medium São Francisco basin, integrate and put into interaction the lores arising from their local culture and from their school culture. The theoretical subsidy, from several areas of knowledge, propitiated the profundity and comprehension of the identity, professional practice, teachers knowledge categories, contributing to give shape to the scientific production. The qualitative approach was used and for methodology we used the oral life story of eight teachers, from five municipalities of the São Francisco basin. After being transcript, the narratives were sent back to the teachers, who interfered in the sense of keeping the report or not. In order to better outline our research, we decided for clipping the narratives and inserting the necessary reflections along the text in order to achieve our goals. The analyses developed showed that in the reality researched the Geography teachers have plied different realities on their life story and along their formation until they took charge of their teaching profession, the teachers identity is influenced by the social and cultural school everyday routine, modifying their way of life and their professional life. The research also showed that the Geography teachers articulate their local cultural knowledge with the school culture in a practice interlaced by a lot of limitations originated from the school organization and from the investments on the teachers continued formation.

This research introduced the concept and practice of composting to a school community. It represents a possible option of diverting a considerable amount of organic residues from the Municipal Landfill. At a test community in Araguari, the Escola Estadual Antônio Nunes de Carvalho Filho, a composting experience was planned and executed using biodegradable waste from the school kitchen and also from students´ homes and some commercial donators located in the school s neighborhood. This experience is part of the study of a new system of household waste management in the City of Araguari that is being implemented by the Municipal Department of the Environment. The research, from the introduction of the topic, through obtaining students acceptance and participation, all the way to the production of two batches of compost, took eight months. An excellent quality compost was obtained, which will be used in the school garden and in the creation of a new tree nursery at the school. Attending to one research objective, the composting practice is now being considered as candidate to integrate the course schedule. It is expected that the school community multiplies its knowledge to the citizens who directly or indirectly interact with it. The first experience of this multiplication has already occurred. As part of this project the students of the test school, upon invitation, presented their results to the community of another school, Escola Centro Educacional Municipal Mário da Silva Pereira. After this knowledge multiplication, it will be easier to convey the concept of divided collection of solid waste to all the residences of Araguari in the near future. To have a sustainable future it is essential to change the attitudes of people towards solid waste, and the present project has provided a means to do just that.

The field built and rebuilt in the memories of the workers of Southeast Goias is constituted in the thesis that we present now. In a process of reading and re-reading interviews produced from the year of 2000, we search to deepen meanings that memories related to the countryside can bring some of the redefinitions of the relations of work that these workers were subdued in the second half of the 20th century. Maintaining a dialog with the interviews produced with men and women, workers who suffered redefinitions in their lives due to the change from the countryside to the city, we point out some issues productions in history that, having countryside and city apart in the dynamics of production and consumption, blame for the first one a space which people were setting themselves up from a situation of economical misery and political apathy, condition which would be freed by going to the city, place in which capitalism would favor, for the salaried work and for the technological advancements, a redemption of the conditions survived in the countryside. We refuse to acknowledge a way of thinking in which the memories of the workers are put behind, in structures which are strange to their world, though at some point they are galvanized. These structures, at the same time in which they attribute little political relevance to the actions of the countryside workers, they intend to appoint authorized spokeswomen of these characters. The subject allowed testing our understanding of culture, while indissociable from the practices and expectations that these workers used to have or still have. In this way, we reflect that the pressures, which they suffered and to which was printed in an unstable fact, were determinant for the redefinitions that either the countryside as for the city passed through in that period. We look for, in the effort of reconstituting the clash of powers that revealed in the changes, not to level out the memories, so that they would result in only two memories, the dominant and the dominated one. Through dialogs with some authors, mainly with Alessandro Portelli, we identified the existence of possible memories in the conditions of production and of different elaborations of the same area of pressures, revealing available means, which were used or not by many of the protagonists. This thesis allowed the reaffirmation that the categories work and workers set themselves up as and reconstitute in the social field, which inputs limits and pressures for this (re) construction, an always open process, continuous and unfinished in the memories which are produced.

Memórias e histórias de trabalhadores em luta pela terra: Fernandópolis-SP, 1946-1964

The research aims to quest the historical and social process of memories construction about the workers' social movement in June 1949 in Fernandópolis-SP, commonly known as "communist insurgence or movement of agrarian revolution . Workers mobilized and organized themselves into various social movements that struggled against exploitation and domination lived in the field and city in the socialy shared environment of late 1940 and the following two decades. The historical process experienced by the workers was related to extreme situations involving pressure and exploitation of the large landowners, the organization of various movements, the politic struggle, the political and police repression of the DOPS and life in hiding; finally, limits, pressures and expectations of the daily life. Among the various struggles that the organized, the struggle for land marked a politicization moment of the class struggle where workers have established ways of life and struggle by themselves. The questioning were outlined in the convergence of daily life and the meanings that workers assigned to the process of developing several projects for their lives, among them, the struggle for land, in relation to meanings and hegemonic values and practices. We inspect in the criminal research, police investigations, records of DOPS, the press and oral narrative. Therefore, the historical and social process of construction of memories about the social movement of workers in June 1949, the experiences of the struggle for land and political militancy in Fernandópolis led me to identify the memory as one of the places of contention for hegemony in the city and workers movement at June 1949 as the expression of shared memories and class cultures.

Based on the statements of Senators, speeches of Presidents of the Republic (Fernando Henrique Cardoso and Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva) and the volume of legislation (laws and court proceedings), the thesis highlights the complexity of the maze that is the discussion topic of Agrarian Reform in Brazil, from 1995-2006. Rhetoric is one of the tools used by these political agents in order to convince about the importance of the arguments that advocate for Agrarian Reform. The research examines the historical social struggles and the correlation of forces that are present in the process of drafting laws in the content of reading (comprehension - interpretations) and application. Thus, the research analyzes the legislative output of the agrarian period, conceiving the law as an argumentative practice and the construction of laws and their subsequent application as a result of social struggles, showing historically how in practice the "democratic state" "right" has acted in relation to the subject, that is, as the executive, legislature and judiciary, and faced with the organized forum of civil society - the Movement of Struggle for the Land - have been concretely active in the struggles around the land agrarian reform issue.

Música Contemporânea em Minas Gerais: os Encontros de Compositores Latino-americanos de Belo Horizonte (1986-2002)

The aim of this work is to understand the historic process which achieved the construction of the Latin American contemporary music movement in Belo Horizonte, more specifically, the Latin American Composer s Gatherings of Belo Horizonte, held in the years 1986-1988-1992-2002 sponsored by the Fundação de Educação Artística. It was also possible to get knowledge of their artistic cultural programs (works, composers, performers) in which one can found included the production of Brazilian music and music of Minas Gerais, as well as the theoretical questions presented in form of Thematic Panels. As for their importance not only in local, but national and international levels, the Latin American Composer s Gatherings have had a strong social impact in the city of Belo Horizonte in the decades of 1980-90, mainly through the academic scene, contributing to the musical formation of young composers and performers and for the structure of the musical composition area at the Escola de Música da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais. As far as the common problems facing Brazil and Latin America on the above decades are concerned, a changing in favor of the Latin American contemporary music passed necessarily by the understanding that the politic and economic aspects were strongly connected with the cultural one. As for their production and musical diffusion, a major participation of all professionals - composers, performers, educators and musicologists - in the sense of interfering in the current teaching musical model practiced in institutions of fundamental, median and college levels.

Workers' struggle and popular participation in Venezuela: a study on the resistance of workers The oil Paro of december 2002. With this title, here is the doctorate thesis that sees this country in successive attempts at civil-military coups in the early twenty-first century, and analyses the direct participation of workers and popular sectors in the struggle for their claims. Venezuela is a country that, with Chavez s possession in the presidency in 1999, is causing many controversies around the world, whether from his supporters who hear from him the need to build socialism or from the bourgeoisie who thought he had erased once this word and its meaning. Thus, both sectors are pitted in broad discussions and direct confrontations inside and outside the country. If, on the one hand, it is good for the working class and the oppressed sectors in general, to redeem the word and the meaning of socialism, on the other, both sectors, pro-Chavez or anti-Chavez, did not understand what socialism is. If in fact, the first group dreams of socialism, it is not with Chavez that they will come to that intent. The second, although critic of Chavez, don t realize that Chavez is a bourgeois hue sui generis. To understand this whole Venezuelan process, specifically in the oil Paro of December 2002, under a broader historical analysis, we include the actions and the roles of the Venezuelan working class and popular sectors in these clashes on the country, which occur since Chavez's rise to power. To this purpose, the beginning of all this social effervescence was emphasized, from the popular uprising in February 1989, known as the Caracazo, to its subsequent unfolding. The main point of all these disputes was the oil Paro in December 2002 at the country's oil producing company, Petróleos de Venezuela Sociedad Anónima - PDVSA. With the country economy paralysis, the plotter bourgeois opposition, along with its allies in the working class, the trade union bureaucracy, tried to bleed the Venezuelan economy, cause a collapse and overthrow Chavez. The prompt arrival on the scene of thousands of workers and popular sectors in direct action and occupation of the company, putting it to work, has undermined the project of the scammer opposition that once again was defeated by the initiative to mobilize the working class and exploited popular sectors that operated identified with the oppressed class. It happened that, in addition to defeating the stroke, these oil workers, supported by popular sectors, had their hands under the control of the second largest company in the world oil production. With this, it was demonstrated in locus that the working class has current conditions to control the production and management of goods produced by it. All this within a bubbly historical process of social struggles, restoring landmarks of socialism, lost in the decades of 1980 and 1990. In this thesis, we seek to understand these social agents, their struggles, claims and experiences, analyzing the germs that allowed the unfolding of this historical process. We highlight the experience of what a society can be and what its workers and exploited sectors can make when, they both mobilized and organized, decide to control the production and distribution of their goods.

This thesis addresses the relationship between Cinema, Literature and History from the filmic adaptations of São Bernardo and Vidas Secas - literary Graciliano Ramos brought to the screen by filmmakers Hirszman Leon (1973) and Nelson Pereira dos Santos (1963), respectively. The writer and the filmmakers, through their aesthetic and political positions, sought to build their works through discussions that pointed to the projects, world views and ideals of non-hegemonic social categories, showing a Brazil multifaceted and heterogeneous. To realize these positions we try to capture its relations with the various proposals of realism and the left over the adaptation, production and reception of the books and movies, as each of the authors not only sought to build his criticism of propositions and policies of the hegemonic social categories, as advocated in his own way, aesthetic and political positions parallel, but not necessarily identical in seeking to represent Brazil.
