Production, marketing and export of bee products: an analysis of the performance of the brazilian northeast region

Brazilian beekeeping has gained prominence since the introduction of the Apís mellifera bees from Africa, a process that led to the hybridization of European species already existing in the country. The crossing between these species of bees promoted a wide spread of subspecies throughout all regions of Brazil, which were adapting to adversities, becoming resistant and more productive. In the Northeast region, the subspecies of bees resulting from hybridization, Africanized bees, adapted very well to the conditions of hot climate and Caatinga vegetation, starting to promote extra income to farming families through the practice of rational beekeeping. In this context, the article proposes to carry out a survey of the performance of the Brazilian northeast region in relation to the production, commercialization and export of bee products. For that, a bibliographic and documentary research was used, carried out from the databases of the Online Electronic Scientific Library (Scielo) and CAPES/MEC Journal Portal. Based on the analysis of the data obtained, it was evident that the Northeast region of Brazil stands out in the production, marketing and export of bee products, with honey as the main product, only behind the South and Southeast regions. Honey from the Northeast presents immeasurable quality due to the low level of chemical residue contamination, which allows for a high level of international competitiveness. For a constant growth of beekeeping in the Northeast, investment in research and development of technologies for the agro-industrial management of the beekeeping chain is necessary.

The Collective Subject Discourse: analysis of the student perception about the teaching-learning process in the context of the Covid-19 Pandemic

The Covid-19 pandemic has imposed transformations on the teaching-learning process at all stages of formal education. So quickly and without precedent, that academic institutions have sought to resignify themselves. The purpose of this article is to present the challenges and possibilities of education in the context of the pandemic, based on the perceptions of students in the discipline of "Psychology and Development of Learning in Adolescence", offer in the undergraduate courses of the Federal University of Ceará (UFC), Fortaleza campuses (CE), raising dialogues and reflections on the remote teaching-learning process, critical/reflective curriculum theorization, problematizing and interdisciplinary training, using as reference the contributions of Freire (1987), Pimenta (1999) and Silva (2005). Considering the reinvention of the program and the specificities of the discipline, we took as a research instrument the application of an individual questionnaire, in whose analysis we used the Collective Subject Discourse method (Lefèvre, Marques, & Lefèvre, 2003). We understand that the present study showed the importance of considering cognitive, emotional and cultural aspects, with the purpose of rethinking what has already been thought, aiming to potentiate the strength of the educational process in the formation of students in the construction of a critical and autonomous citizenship, with the ability to live and live in a world in constant change with more humanity.

Therapeutic potencial of mesenquimal stem cells in equine laminitis

Laminitis is a very common disease in the clinical routine of horses, which causes, among other symptoms, pain and lameness, being an important cause of euthanasia. In this condition, there is a weakening of the connection between the horny case and the distal phalanx, resulting in the sinking and palmar / plantar rotation of this bone. Several mechanisms are involved in the pathogenesis of laminitis, which include vascular, enzymatic, traumatic, glucose deprivation and endocrinopathic theories, so that it can occur secondarily to several other diseases, such as colic and equine metabolic disease. However, the compression of the mechanisms that govern changes in the pathophysiology of this disease is quite complex, and is not yet fully understood. This factor limits the development of effective therapies for curing laminitis. The diagnosis can be made through the evaluation of the animal's history, clinical signs, physical examination and complementary exams, such as radiography, anesthetic blocks, venography, thermography, among other methods. Therapy should involve pain control and stabilization of laminar tissue, and varies according to the stage of development of the disease, especially the acute and chronic phases. Thus, regenerative medicine, which includes the use of mesenchymal stem cells, has gained considerable prominence in recent years, since it has a positive influence on the cure of various orthopedic injuries in horses.

Investigation of the physical and mechanical properties of conventional concrete with partial replacement of sand by bamboo fibers

The natural fibers of bamboo are of great interest as reinforcement of polymeric composites, added in small proportions to the concrete mass, aims to increase the compressive strength and improve its structural performance and the turn factor of great importance in its use is the increase of tensile strength making there a control in the propagation of cracks. The present work aims to evaluate the influence of sand substitution by bamboo fibers on the physical and mechanical properties of conventional concrete. Research shows that there was an increase in interest in using natural composites for the reinforcement of concrete, including bamboo fiber. Bamboo fibers because they have relevant mechanical properties, low density, biodegradable and found in nature in abundance, are satisfactory and a great composite to be added in the manufacture of concrete. The materials used were characterized to elaborate the trace of the reference concrete calculated by the ABCP - ACI    method and made concrete with the addition of 2% and 5% of bamboo fibers in its composition. The concretes were tested for compressive strength, modulus of elasticity and direct tensile strength at the ages of 14 and 28 days. The results show that the axial compressive strength did not obtain a significant change, as the percentages of bamboo fibers were added in its composition, although the composite meets the minimum resistance of 20 MPa established by NBR 6118 (2014), and can be used for structural purposes.

Odontogenic infection in deep cervical spaces: diagnosis and treatment

An odontogenic infection can originate from a dental element or its supporting structures. Periodontal diseases, endodontics, defective restorative treatments and caries are associated with its most common causes. When identified in its early stage, treatment may include endodontic intervention, replacement of restorative material, periodontal treatment and localized drainage. The objective of this paper is to report a clinical case of a patient who presented a case of odontogenic infection at an advanced stage, discussing the correct diagnosis, its surgical treatment and pharmacological protocol. Male patient, black, 31 years old, with a history of toothache and submandibular abscess with a 22-day evolution time. When performing contrast-enhanced computed tomography of the face and neck, a collection, suggestive of purulent, was observed in submandibular and supraclavicular fascial spaces. The recommended protocol consisted of exploratory cervicotomy of deep fascial spaces together with drainage, removal of material for culture and broad-spectrum antibiotic therapy. The severities of odontogenic infections that affect deep cervical spaces are known, bringing with them the risk of mediastinitis and airway complications. Therefore, safe handling and the surgeon's mastery of early diagnosis and quick and safe intervention delimit complications and increase the chances of cure.

The daily life of nursing technicians in the Family Health Strategy

The aim of the study is to understand the work process of nursing technicians who work in the Family Health Strategy teams. The case study has a qualitative approach, based on symbolic interactionism, carried out with eight nursing technicians from the Family Health Strategy of a medium-sized Brazilian municipality. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed according to thematic content analysis. The research was approved by the Research Ethics Committee. Participants identify that the Family Health Strategy basically performs curative actions and have daily attributions: pre-consultation, post-consultation and nursing procedures. Relational technologies were identified as the main working tool. As the purpose of the work, they stated that it is to meet spontaneous demand. It appears that the work process of nursing technicians is predominantly focused on curative actions at the individual level, which reinforces the care model centered on the disease. Continuing education is suggested to give new meaning to the work of these professionals. Finally, it emphasizes the need to rethink the training of nursing technicians, so that they develop skills expected to work in primary health care services that meet the health needs of the population, from the perspective of comprehensiveness of health care and for the establishment of work processes that consider the determinants, risks and damages to health.

Estimated flow of condensed water from air conditioners

Population growth, responsible for the growing demand for drinking water, related to pollution and non-rational use of water, results in a scenario of water scarcity in certain regions of all continents, especially in regions of low rainfall. Seeking to reduce the consumption of drinking water for less noble purposes, reduce pressure under water reservoirs and combat water scarcity, the concept of rational use of water emerges. Based on the principles of minimization, separation and reuse, this concept brings with it the suggestion of the use of alternative sources of water, among of them the condensed water from the operation of air conditioners. Such devices work in a way that water condensation occurs, and this effluent is mostly despised. The present work aims to delineate models to estimate the flow of water generated by condensation in air conditioners. The volume of condensed water generated by the devices was measured. Results allowed delineating a mathematical model to determine the flow of this alternative water source, which allows the analysis of the feasibility of its use in a given location for non-potable purposes, such as floor washing, discharges in sanitary basins and irrigation.

Oral toxicities in adult patients after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation: integrative literature review

Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT) is used as standard treatment for a variety of hematologic malignancies. Patients undergo intensive myeloablative treatment before receiving a transplant, putting them at risk of developing serious complications. Oral mucositis, xerostomia and fungal infections, the most common after HSCT. Thus, an integrative literature review was conducted with the aim of evaluating possible oral toxicities in post-HSCT patients, their risk factors, symptoms and manifestations, seeking to identify a correlation between bone marrow transplantation and the development of oral changes. The study consists of a basic bibliographic review, descriptive-explanatory, with integrative and qualitative analysis. A search was performed based on search platforms searching for the terms, “hematopoietic stem cell transplant”, “oral toxicities” and “oral changes”. Articles in English and Portuguese were included, publication in 15 final articles. There are several oral toxicities resulting from immunosuppression and antineoplastic treatment using stem cells; which decrease the survival of patients and their quality of life, in addition to being associated with an increase in systemic infections, costs and hospitalization days. Therefore, it is extremely important that dentists master this subject, and know how to intervene correctly, not only to provide comfort to the patient, but also to avoid and/or reduce systemic complications arising from the oral cavity.

High dosage of Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) in a patient after radical prostatectomy and without clinical evidence to support tumor recurrence: case report

Introduction: in the clinical evaluation of the prostate, during the digital rectal examination, irregular nodules in the external glands located in the periphery of this organ can be recognized. Among the types of existing pathologies, prostate adenocarcinoma is the most common neoplasm of this tissue, as well as the second with the highest incidence in males in Brazil. Objective: to demonstrate a clinical case of high dosage of Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) in a patient after radical prostatectomy and without clinical evidence that attest to tumor recurrence. Methodology: this is a clinical case study with a qualitative and descriptive perspective, which consists of a research that, in general, takes place with direct data collection, in which the researcher is the indispensable instrument. Case report: This is a patient diagnosed with prostate adenocarcinoma and undergoing radical prostatectomy. Even after surgical removal, the PSA dosage remained high, however, without any clinical findings attesting to a possible tumor recurrence. Discussion: PSA, despite being widely used as a complement to the diagnosis of prostate cancer, is also used during follow-up and verification of therapeutic efficacy. Thus, it is noteworthy that the increase in the values of this marker after radical prostatectomy, configuring a biochemical recurrence, is not always an indication of metastatic processes or tumor recurrence. Conclusion: in this case, it is imperative that complementary tests, such as bone scintigraphy and magnetic resonance, are performed to absolutely rule out diagnoses indicative of malignancy and to indicate the proper management of the clinical picture. Under this bias, after an individualized assessment, an acceptable alternative is the introduction of hormone therapy to stabilize these still high PSA values.

The process of schooling in adolescence: constituted meanings by High School teachers

This paper aims to understand the schooling process in adolescence from the constituted meanings by high school teachers. Based on socio-historical psychology, especially in the categories as historicity, proximal development zone, subjective dimension of reality and processes of meaning, the field of research was carried out by semi-structured and recurring interviews with two high school teachers from a public school in the city of Natal, in Rio Grande do Norte. According to the theoretical-methodological framework adopted, the data were analyzed based on the methodology of the meaning cores. In organizing the analysis procedure, the information was systematized into two meaning cores, namely: 1) conception of youth and educational process; 2) educational process for adolescents, school organization and family support. Conclusively, there are many issues that shape the experience of teachers at school, once this is a very complex institution and full of challenges for the development of pedagogical practice. However, if on the one hand, many cases of failure intensely mark the way in which teachers signify the adolescents' schooling process, in the other hand, there is hope in education when they talk about cases of students' victories and achievements, demonstrating feelings of satisfaction for having contributed with the possibility of materializing your dreams. Knowing that the work they do at school contributes to the growth of students is one of their best rewards in teaching work.

Occurrence of infectious endocarditis in intravenous drug users

The general objective of this article is mainly to alert about the risk of occurrence of Infectious Endocarditis not only in the elderly or in patients with cardiovascular pathologies, but also in young and previously healthy people who are exposed to the causative agents of this infection through the use of intravenous drugs due to sharing contaminated needles. To obtain the results and answers about the problematization presented in this work, an explanatory research was carried out using the bibliographic analysis of review articles published between 2008 and 2019 on the Scielo and Google academic platforms. one of the articles. Endocarditis in general refers to infection of the cardiac endocardial tissue. A heart without existing pathological conditions is somewhat resistant to this infection, as the constant blood flow makes it difficult for these microorganisms to adhere to this tissue. Therefore, the main causes of this condition are congenital endocardial abnormalities, presence of pathogenic microorganisms in the bloodstream, calcified or bicuspid aortic valves, rheumatic valve disease, mitral valve prolapse and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and previous endocarditis. As prophylaxis, dental evaluation and medication are essential before surgery to repair congenital heart disease or valves. However, it is essential not to use intravenous drugs and share needles, as this can lead to endocarditis in people who were healthy until then and who do not have heart problems before the episode.

Epidemiological profile of elderly brazilians seeking physical therapy treatment: a literature review

The aging process occurs during life, affecting all organisms, being considered progressively causing several changes in the individual's physiological patterns, involving social, cultural, biological and psychological factors. Physical therapy may be necessary at any stage of life, but for the elderly population it is essential not only related to treatment, but preventive, contributing to a better quality of life. Thus, it is extremely important to identify the profile of patients seen in a given population, know the users of the physiotherapy service, understand the service demand, and the most frequent pathologies. This is a descriptive exploratory literature review, a method by which a topic studied in previous research is narrated in detail, in order to cover more about a given subject. The search was carried out in the following healthcare databases: Academic Google, Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature (LILACS) and Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO). In this research, it was possible to observe a growing search for physiotherapeutic care in several areas of activity, and the predominance of patients seen was female over 60 years of age. Another important fact observed in the research was the fact that patients did not have only one diagnosis, but several comorbidities, decreasing the functional capacity of the elderly, causing deleterious effects on their quality of life, it is noteworthy that the need for more frequent care by physical therapists was caused by muscle disorders representing 83% of cases and neurological disorders with 61.1% of searches for assistance.
