This work presents a bibliographical review on the Catholic Charismatic Renovation with emphasis in its means of diffusion. Through the research of academic productions, which analyze the religious movement, we propose to investigate its processes of formation and growth, observing as main the options adopted and a type of relationship developed with the social media. Finally, we looked for some problems that involve this phenomenon of religion and communication.

The recent approval of the new Law that will govern the Brazilian Upper Secondary Education entailed a series of questions about its procedural strategy and about the very feasibility of its implementation. Issued as a Provisional Executive Order, it was quickly assessed and approved by the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, excluding from the discussion the social sectors focused on education. The necessary communication processes, understood as dialogical processes – crucial to discussing a matter possibly affecting the practices of the whole level of basic education – were not pursued, resulting in a Law debated solely in ministerial offices and in the National Congress offices of government leaders.

The 1960s were convulsive around the world. Remembered as the era of imagination and of political and social revolutions, in Brazil, this journey was interrupted by the 1964 Military Coup, which abruptly cut the links that founded the political action and the creativity of the intellectual life. Thinking of those years I suggest for this review the film The Other Side of Paradise (2014), by André Ristum, and the documentary Marighella (2012), by Isa Grinspum Ferraz. The film was based on the homonymous book by Luiz Fernando Emediato, written in tribute to his father, Antônio Trindade, and the documentary by Isa Grinspum Ferraz was filmed in honor of her Uncle Carlos Marighella. The choice of films is an opportunity to learn about two characters who dreamed and tried to fulfill their dreams in the 1960s, in Brazil. One character is anonymous and the other is known, but both have their dreams ran over and got banished from the same history.

A prática educomunicativa visa ampliar a expressão comunicativa de jovens. O objetivo do presente artigo é apresentar resultados da oficina de fanzine da Casa da Ciência, como uma prática educomunicativa. A produção de fanzines foi realizada por meio de oficinas ministradas por jornalistas, durante os anos de 2017 e 2018, como complemento às atividades do Adote um Cientista, programa com alunos do ensino fundamental e médio. Foram produzidos mais de cem fanzines, com tema baseados em palestras e grupos de iniciação científica. Os alunos tiveram oportunidade de desenvolver habilidades, dentre elas o planejamento, envolvendo escolha de temas, produção de textos, ilustrações e finalização. Como resultado, os alunos se tornaram autores de textos e ilustrações, evidenciando aprendizagem de conceitos científicos e de formas de compartilhar conhecimento numa linguagem adequada ao público em geral.

The article reports on the pedagogical experience of CinÉtica, a film debate activity offered by the Fundamentos da Ética (Introduction to Ethics) discipline of the ICSEZ/UFAM journalism course. The experience had three consecutive years and, according to the students, the discipline’s monitors, and its coordinator, served as an expressive support for the course’s contents, making the involved academics strive for more readings. We sought to reveal cinematographic works’ stances on ethical and moral dilemmas. That is, our activity was guided by an investigation on how audiovisual narratives can either reinforce the dominant moral and intellectual orientation, or, through a counter-hegemonic perspective, lead spectators to reflect and question dominant codes of conduct.

A apresentação da poeta Hilda Hilst se faz sob dois polos, entre tantos outros possíveis: (1) naquilo que representa o seu momento de formação inicial, representado pelo seu livro de estreia Presságio (1950), em que temas de interesse ali gestados seriam amplamente explorados pela poeta em obras posteriores; (2) e o seu interesse em dialogar com os modelos clássicos da tradição lírica, que foi objeto de pesquisa e produção de poemas ao longo de sua jornada como poeta.

The interviewee Delia Crovi Druetta is a Professor at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. For a long time, she has contributed to the field of communication studies. Her career in journalism began on the radio and television and was consolidated in teaching and research. Her professional and academic experience affects her research by focusing on the communication/education relationship, being recognized as a great Latin American researcher on youth and uses of digital technologies. She is an enthusiast of school as an space of access and critical training for the use of new media. Delia Crovi highlights the pioneering and essential contribution of the Latin American people to Educommunication studies. She is the current President of the Latin American Association of Communication Researchers (Alaic).

The book The Privilege of Servitude: The New Services-Proletariat in the Digital Age, by Ricardo Antunes, offers a reading of the mutations and contradictions of the world of work, through the materialities of digital labour and the morphologies of the "class-that-lives-from-labour ", in a dialogue both theoretical-conceptual from the Global South and in a conjunctural analysis of the last years in Brazil, including the bourgeois counterrevolution and the devastation of the labour in the Temer government. The review aims to make Antunes’ book dialogue with communication research.

Os Institutos Nacionais de Ciência e Tecnologia (INCTs) devem, entre outros aspectos, contemplar a área de “Transferência de Conhecimentos para a Sociedade”, a qual, em linhas gerais, é voltada para a educação e a divulgação científica. Nesta pesquisa, tem-se como objetivo geral explorar as atividades realizadas pelo INCT Biodiversidade e Produtos Naturais (BioNat) na referida área, com foco em educação ambiental (EA), divulgadas em seu site entre junho de 2017 e junho de 2018. Os objetivos específicos são coletar e analisar as postagens sobre EA publicadas na seção Novidades do Site e investigar se o BioNat produz comunicação ambiental ou jornalismo ambiental. Como considerações, é possível afirmar que este INCT produz comunicação ambiental e possui interesse na EA voltada para a população em geral.

This article is the second of a trilogy about “midiativismo” (media activism). In the first one, recently published, the origins and the social conditions for the formation of its collectives are approached; in the third one, their ideology will be portrayed. Here, the focus is on the functioning of such groups, how they face the challenges of activism and the struggle for human rights, the weakening of popular manifestations, as well as the hegemony of corporate media. The networks of cooperation formed among “midiativistas”, the search for resources for sustainability and the disputes between groups are central aspects to understand the phenomenon of “midiativismo”, showing its influence in transforming the hegemonic means of audiovisual creation.

O presente artigo investigou diferentes estratégias didáticas baseadas nas quatro habilidades – ouvir, falar, ler e escrever –, podem contribuir para a melhoria do processo de ensino e aprendizagem da Língua Inglesa no Ensino Fundamental. A pesquisa caracterizou-se por um estudo de caso, de caráter exploratório descritivo e abordagem qualitativa. Após a realização do pré-teste, estratégias didáticas foram desenvolvidas na contação da história de Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Após o desenvolvimento das estratégias aplicou-se o pós-teste. A análise realizada no pré-teste, pós-teste e no corpus constituído dos relatórios realizados em cada aula evidenciaram que diferentes estratégias didáticas usadas no ensino do Inglês podem contribuir para a melhoria não somente do processo de aprendizagem dos alunos, mas também do processo de ensino. 

This review presents an analysis of the work Empoderadas – mulheres eternas corpo a corpo, by Palmério Dória. This book had a key power – women’s empire. The result is a smooth flowing and interesting text, which contributed to explain the significance of women’s political activism in different social fields. There is a dialogical dynamic that allows the reader to know the interaction of women with the same objectives regardless of the geographical borders separating them.

Este breve artículo tiene el propósito de presentar la poesía japonesa conocida como haikai. Su principal maestro fue Matsuo Bashô (1644-1694) y fue responsable de dar un nuevo estatuto al haikai, creando una escuela llamada Shômon en la que formará muchos discípulos.

The Dean of the Doctoral Program in Communication Sciences of the University of Minho (Portugal) and member of the Center for Communication and Society Studies (Cecs), Professor Manuel Joaquim Silva Pinto, gave an exclusive interview to Comunicação & Educação journal in the occasion of his visit to Brazil. Manuel Pinto tells us what motivated his entrance into the field of Education for Social Communication. He also addressed the results of his researches about the role of journalism in this area and stressed the importance of looking at children not only as sons and daughters or students, but as subjects who have their own rights of expression and participation.

This review aims to comment on the movies Gabriel e a montanha, directed by Fellipe Barbosa, and Vagabond, directed by Agnès Varda, and promote a reflection about the concepts of identity and otherness by comparing the movies – which contain similar narrative aspects, since the main characters of both movies are travelers; however, the path and the journey convey quite distinct significances, which are of interest for this review.

Malhação: Vidas Brasileiras destacou-se pelos temas de cunho social abordados. O objetivo deste trabalho é compreender suas dimensões comunicacionais e os desdobramentos culturais que podem impactar na fruição dos jovens telespectadores, a partir da análise das narrativas culturais da trama. A metodologia adotada mescla os métodos observativo e interpretativo, partindo das descrições de algumas cenas do produto e cotejando-as com as teorias e discussões a respeito dos fenômenos. O corpo teórico que respalda essas leituras reúne Maria Immacolata Vassalo de Lopes (2009; 2014), Elizabeth Rondelli (1997), entre outros autores que versam sobre a telenovela e sua relação com os entrelaçamentos socioculturais. O resultado apontou, dentre outros aspectos, que a geração dos videogames e das redes sociais tem um produto televisivo à sua disposição, com elementos de seu contexto sociocultural: uma tradicional telenovela brasileira, fórmula consagrada no imaginário e na cultura.
