A proposta deste artigo é analisar os dados relacionados ao fenômeno de evasão discente no curso de Relações Públicas da Universidade Federal do Pampa (Unipampa) – Campus São Borja e, então, fazer uma reflexão sobre essa questão. Para tanto, a metodologia empregada é a pesquisa bibliográfica, amparada pela análise documental. O curso teve a sua primeira oferta em 2010-2, e o foco de análise deste trabalho está nas evasões compreendendo os anos de 2010 a 2017. O estudo aponta que o índice de evasão é alto, chegando a quase 60% no período analisado. Em vista disso, busca-se apresentar, nesta reflexão, estratégias que possam amenizar ou reverter essa realidade e ampliar o debate interno e entre a comunidade acadêmica da área de Relações Públicas a respeito da evasão no Ensino Superior.

This article discusses the indispensability of the educommunicative practice for implementing a curriculum reform that considers the demands for a citizen education that focuses on a training for people to exercise their universal right to expression and communication. It aims to analyze the final version of the National Common Curriculum Base (BNCC – Base Nacional Comum Curricular) of the Brazilian Ministry of Education (MEC), passed in December 2017, observing the nature of the premises that open perspectives for the inclusion of media education as a practice of interest to the educational system. It also recalls the expectation created by the official document, since it predicted the performance, in the school context, of specialized curatorships and mediations to approach topics that still do not have specifically trained teachers. It is understood that this device opens the way for the presence of a specialist in Educommunication in the professional staff of elementary education.

The French professor and researcher François Jost has dedicated himself to Communication Studies and, more specifically, to Cinema and Television Studies based on several perspectives and approaches. He is an Emeritus Professor of Information and Communication Sciences at University Sorbonne Nouvelle – Paris 3, where he founded the Center for the Study of Images and Sounds (CEISM) in 1996, which he coordinated until 2016. At the same University, he directed the laboratory of Communication, Information and Media (CIM) from 2012 to 2016. He directs the magazine Télévision, published by the CNRS éditions (Centre National de Recherches Scientifiques – CNRS publishing house). He is a visiting professor in many European, Latin American and Canadian universities. It is worth mentioning that the results of their research in these centers, as well as seminars and conferences conducted in Brazil, have impacted television studies in our country. He has dozens of books published in France, many of which were translated into other languages. In Brazil, so far, he published Seis lições sobre a televisão, in 2004, A narrative cinematográfca, with André Gaudreault as co-author, in 2009, Compreender a televisão, em 2010, and Do que as series americanas são sintoma, in 2012. Two of his most recent books, Les nouveaux méchants: quand les séries américaines font bouger les lignes du bien et du mal and La méchanceté en actes à l’ère numérique4 serve as grounds for some of the questions in this interview.

This article seeks to understand how, in a highly mediated society, a “digital thread” is established through the personal and social life and in the learning process of young people. For this purpose, an ethnography was carried out with students aged between 13 to 14 years, during a year. The interlinked forms of digital media that young people have used to find spaces of autonomy and personal action have been revealed, while their parents and teachers try to establish digital media in a normative way, shaping young people’s current achievements and future perspectives. This is related to the subtle stimulation of connections and disconnections, often motivating or problematic, present inside their homes and between home and school. The result is that digital media – although it does not necessarily determine the lives of young people – has become an important source of anxiety and conflict between generations.

We performed a quantitative research based on data from the Google Analytics platform on the Pion Portal for scientific dissemination of the Brazilian Society of Physics in search of patterns that indicate a user profile. We studied the views by year, month and day, users by year and region of Brazil and the ten most viewed contents in the Portal from January 01, 2013 to December 31, 2017. We observed that the views increased by year and oscillated over days and months, presenting drops on weekends and in January, July and December; the number of Pion users increased five times more than the Brazilian internet users; the geographical distribution of Pion users and residences with internet practically coincide; the most accessed contents were articles of scientific dissemination in Physics with content of basic education. The data indicate that the profile of the Pion user is of the student or the professor from all over Brazil.

O objetivo deste artigo é identificar a pertinência da educomunicação para os cursos de jornalismo, com ênfase nas contribuições de Paulo Freire, fundamentado nas experiências realizadas em cursos de jornalismo nos estados de Mato Grosso e Mato Grosso do Sul. A análise parte da aplicabilidade do pensamento de Freire aos estudos jornalísticos, com base nas reflexões de Meditsch e Faraco, Oliveira e Ijuim, e resgata o diálogo e formação crítica para o exercício de um jornalismo capaz de promover a emancipação e libertação de sujeitos protagonistas, que assumam o controle e a responsabilidade numa sociedade midiatizada e mediada pela comunicação e tecnologia. As experiências mostram a apropriação do conceito da Educomunicação, a partir de Soares e Citelli, no ensino superior, alicerçada no tripé “ensino, pesquisa e extensão”.

This study shows a teaching-learning proposal for the development of advertising projects with design thinking (DT), considering undergraduate students in Advertising as target audience. The bibliographic review includes themes about: teaching of advertising projects, Design Thinking, and Constructive Alignment, followed by the details of the teaching-learning proposal and the elements that constitute it. The obtained results evidenced the effectiveness of the proposal and point out the immersion as the DT stage with more difficulty to perform by the students. The proposal can help teachers in the field to replicate the experience through the materials and resources described and, in addition, the construction course itself can be a guide to compose other proposals aimed at advertising teaching.

Este artigo teve como objetivo mostrar o que foi regularmente anunciado nas escolas radiofônicas do Movimento de Cultura Popular de Recife/MCP (1960-1964), através do seu material pedagógico: o Livro de Leitura para Adultos. Pretendeu também mostrar os acontecimentos discursivos presentes na efetivação do MCP: questões sobre municipalização enfatizadas na LDB (Lei de Diretrizes e Bases da Educação); “adequação regional” proposta por Anísio Teixeira e a efetivação do Centro Regional de Pesquisas Educacionais do Recife, dirigido por Gilberto Freyre; formulação de uma identidade nacional, com características regionais. Observando o que foi regular no discurso, como nos orienta Michel Foucault, o estudo concluiu que o Livro de Leitura para adultos/escolas radiofônicas trazem ecos das práticas regionalistas almejadas por Gilberto Freyre, ou seja, a constituição de um povo genuíno e autêntico que precisava ser alfabetizado.  

É possível ensinar e pensar no Jornalismo mais além dos espaços e róis tradicionais (meio de comunicação, organizações públicas e empresas)? Com esta pergunta como eixo, neste texto apresentamos a experiência do projeto Cuvic da Escola de Jornalismo da Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Valparaíso, lugar que, através do voluntariado vincula os seus estudantes aos estabelecimentos escolares, e organizações do terceiro setor para a implementação de projetos comunicacionais e jornalísticos. Por meio de comunicação de entrevistas, observamos que os e as estudantes participantes identificam no Cuvic uma proposta de Jornalismo não hegemônica, e o serviço da cidadania e do desenvolvimento social, territorial e comunitário.

A dinâmica social contemporânea, marcada por aceleradas trocas simbólicas em suportes multilinguagens, tem requerido urgentemente novos processos de ensino-aprendizagem. Objetivamos deste relato de experiência refletir sobre o processo de formação continuada de professores de Educação Física na cidade do Natal (RN) ao acionar conceitos que migram do campo comunicacional, mas que implicam em novas formas de ensinar. A descrição é tributária de uma pesquisa-ação e tem base na observação sistemática dos encontros de formação continuada em 2016. Ao resgatar os conceitos de narrativa e comunicação, além do processo de mediação, observamos que os professores demonstram reconhecer e refletir tais conceitos na medida em que estes são problematizados em práticas pedagógicas possíveis de serem experimentadas no cotidiano escolar.

Este artículo coincide con el nuevo Plan del Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (Conacyt) en México titulado: “Ciencia Comprometida con la Sociedad y el Ambiente”.1 A causa de sus características inclusivas, la autora comparte algunas de las ideas que se encuentran en la perspectiva científica que el próximo gobierno propone para un nuevo país antes de abordar el tema de las mujeres investigadoras, precursoras de los estúdios de comunicación.

This work presents a bibliographical review on the Catholic Charismatic Renovation with emphasis in its means of diffusion. Through the research of academic productions, which analyze the religious movement, we propose to investigate its processes of formation and growth, observing as main the options adopted and a type of relationship developed with the social media. Finally, we looked for some problems that involve this phenomenon of religion and communication.

The recent approval of the new Law that will govern the Brazilian Upper Secondary Education entailed a series of questions about its procedural strategy and about the very feasibility of its implementation. Issued as a Provisional Executive Order, it was quickly assessed and approved by the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, excluding from the discussion the social sectors focused on education. The necessary communication processes, understood as dialogical processes – crucial to discussing a matter possibly affecting the practices of the whole level of basic education – were not pursued, resulting in a Law debated solely in ministerial offices and in the National Congress offices of government leaders.

The 1960s were convulsive around the world. Remembered as the era of imagination and of political and social revolutions, in Brazil, this journey was interrupted by the 1964 Military Coup, which abruptly cut the links that founded the political action and the creativity of the intellectual life. Thinking of those years I suggest for this review the film The Other Side of Paradise (2014), by André Ristum, and the documentary Marighella (2012), by Isa Grinspum Ferraz. The film was based on the homonymous book by Luiz Fernando Emediato, written in tribute to his father, Antônio Trindade, and the documentary by Isa Grinspum Ferraz was filmed in honor of her Uncle Carlos Marighella. The choice of films is an opportunity to learn about two characters who dreamed and tried to fulfill their dreams in the 1960s, in Brazil. One character is anonymous and the other is known, but both have their dreams ran over and got banished from the same history.

A prática educomunicativa visa ampliar a expressão comunicativa de jovens. O objetivo do presente artigo é apresentar resultados da oficina de fanzine da Casa da Ciência, como uma prática educomunicativa. A produção de fanzines foi realizada por meio de oficinas ministradas por jornalistas, durante os anos de 2017 e 2018, como complemento às atividades do Adote um Cientista, programa com alunos do ensino fundamental e médio. Foram produzidos mais de cem fanzines, com tema baseados em palestras e grupos de iniciação científica. Os alunos tiveram oportunidade de desenvolver habilidades, dentre elas o planejamento, envolvendo escolha de temas, produção de textos, ilustrações e finalização. Como resultado, os alunos se tornaram autores de textos e ilustrações, evidenciando aprendizagem de conceitos científicos e de formas de compartilhar conhecimento numa linguagem adequada ao público em geral.

The article reports on the pedagogical experience of CinÉtica, a film debate activity offered by the Fundamentos da Ética (Introduction to Ethics) discipline of the ICSEZ/UFAM journalism course. The experience had three consecutive years and, according to the students, the discipline’s monitors, and its coordinator, served as an expressive support for the course’s contents, making the involved academics strive for more readings. We sought to reveal cinematographic works’ stances on ethical and moral dilemmas. That is, our activity was guided by an investigation on how audiovisual narratives can either reinforce the dominant moral and intellectual orientation, or, through a counter-hegemonic perspective, lead spectators to reflect and question dominant codes of conduct.

A apresentação da poeta Hilda Hilst se faz sob dois polos, entre tantos outros possíveis: (1) naquilo que representa o seu momento de formação inicial, representado pelo seu livro de estreia Presságio (1950), em que temas de interesse ali gestados seriam amplamente explorados pela poeta em obras posteriores; (2) e o seu interesse em dialogar com os modelos clássicos da tradição lírica, que foi objeto de pesquisa e produção de poemas ao longo de sua jornada como poeta.
