O Hidrogénio Como Vetor Energético do Futuro

Pictograms and their Effectiveness: from the Egyptians hieroglyphs to emoticons
The necessity to communicate encouraged the prehistoric man to develop technology to tell their story to subsequent generations, appearing thus the first representative signals of everyday life. After centuries, this reproduction process of learning was being improved until we get to modern writing. In this article, we tried to stick to the knowledge of symbols and the creation of pictograms and their effectiveness in various application contexts, considering concepts of rationality and objectivity of the Positivist philosophy postulated by Otto Neurath, founder of the modern Isotype system pictographs (International System of Typographic Picture Education) and its application in the educational field. Still, they are considered the cognitive processes for creation and interpretation, in which designers and users should be immersed in the same repertoires to make an affect communication. The study generated a reflection on the effectiveness of symbolic communication in light of these processes, motivating us to draw parallels between the current communication through pictograms and emoticons with the old hieroglyphs developed by the egyptians.

Public health is the issue that most concerns the Brazilians. Problems such as lack of investment in public policies for the prevention of diseases, shortage of doctors, equipment and scrap hospitals end up contributing to negative public health in Brazil. This study presents the development of an electronic device capable of measuring blood pressure and send the result of the determination for a web platform in order tofacilitate medical care, especially in hard to reach places. For web platform we used the C ++ language program that every 30-minute interval triggers the pressure unit to enable it to perform the measurement, then the data is sent to the Web Service. To read the data sent was developed a Web Site, where the doctor accesses the internet. As a result, we obtained an electronic device for blood pressure measurement, whose main components are a PA monitor and Arduino UNO. After riding the prototype, this was properly calibrated and tested on three individuals. There has been much success in measuring (which did not differ as to monitoring only used with the monitor) and send the data to the system.

The usability analysis in a brazilian online english course
The Department of Education of São Paulo launched in 2012 the course “English Online”, created by the Virtual School of Educational Programs of the State of São Paulo (Evesp) for the high school students from public schools. After three years, the perception of the Pedagogical Coordination for Modern Foreign Language in the city of Bauru (Brazil) is the increased student dropout rate and the decrease in subscribers in the virtual platform. To investigate the causes, the article set out to see what impacts the usability of the site, from the experience of the primary user (Cybis, Bettiol, Holtz, 2007) with students from the first year of the high school in the city of Bauru. The research indicates that there isn´t a great rejection of the students to the virtual interface “English online”. What leads to the conclusion that reducing the number of subscribers and evasion cannot be directly related to the usability.

Ride a bicycle since childhood: contributions of the design for the identity of Aveiro
The ongoing research aims at understanding the role of design in management and strategic communication of projects in co-creation systems, whose goal is to create a facilitator model of processes that promote and develop products – bicycle ecosystems services. We strive to reinforce the bicycle identity character in the Aveiro region, since, up to the mid-20th century, bicycles used to incorporate the routines of families in this region. However, the importance of bicycles decreased over time, mostly due to the growing prominence of cars in the city. Bearing in mind that identity is a process in permanent mutation, contemplating habitus, we consider that the development of a new sense of belonging concerning bicycles entails their introduction in early childhood education. From this perspective, we present a set of projects designed in accordance with the goals set by Horizon 2020, hoping to create experiences that may integrate bicycles into the community habitus, being experience here understood as the “result of common phenomena experienced both collectively and individually and kept in memory.” (Rodrigues, 2003:10).

The Rapid Prototyping applied to ergonomic evaluation: a comparative study between a handmade mock-up and another obtained by CNC milling machine
Ergonomics is the science responsible for the suitability of the employee´s working conditions and its use can provide better performance, greater comfort and safety in the execution of several tasks. It is an interdisciplinary science, which has connections with Design and can contribute to the development of optimized and functional products that are not harmful to human health. Throughout the development of a product, it is necessary to develop studies and tests that can be perfomed through models, mock-ups and prototypes. These models may be produced with different methods, by handmade techniques or automated and digital processes, such as Rapid Prototyping (RP) technologies, for example. This study aimed to compare two mock-ups of vegetables peelers, which were produced in different ways - one produced with epoxy resin (“Durepoxi”), and another by a subtractive RP technology, using the CNC milling machine Roland MDX 540. For comparative purposes, the price, the production time, the quality and surface finishing, dimensional accuracy and ergonomics were considered asvariables. In the end of this study, two distinct models, with advantages and disadvantages in different aspects were obtained, and those production techniques can be combined in order to achieve a more complete and profitable product development process (PDP) as a result.

Ergodesign: Visual analysis of entry (ingress) and exit (egress) car behaviour by senior drivers
The natural aging process induces physical limitations, intending with this article analyze the behavior of senior and pre-senior drivers during ingress and egress of cars. The goal is to identify the parts of the interior of the car that should be changed or adjusted to the physical condition of these drivers to facilitate the executive function of getting in andout. The methodological process is based on visual studies using photography and video, with behavioral analysis of senior users in new car models, not before experienced by those, obtained over four days at the Geneva Motor Show in March2016.With this visual study, we aim to provide useful information related to the current devices and adaptations applied to the automobile, to achieve inclusive design and enhance universal design processes in future vehicles. This study concluded that newer car models, are still not fully available friendly design solutions and adjusted to the physical limitations of senior drivers, particularly during the process of entry (ingress) and exit (egress) of vehicles. From this research we identified which car types are the best to reduce this problem.
