Criteria adopted by appraisers of not-governmental institutions financing social projects
This article discusses the main aspects of social projects appraisal against the background of a review of the pertinent literature. From this review, the main concepts and perceptions in relation to the appraisal of social projects are formulated. The ways in which appraisers of non-governamental institutions evaluate social projects are identified. Difficulties concerning project appraisal in relation to the three Es (Efficiency, Efficacy and Effectiveness) are found to exist in social sciences, due to (i) lack of theoretical studies and conceptual clarity, and (ii) lack of specific methodological procedures and strategies on which to base the appraisal process.

The imagination as heuristic resource in the construction of scientific knowledge and some implications for Science Teaching
In this paper, it is argued that imagination is configured as an active heuristic resource in the social and historical construction of scientific knowledge processes and that can be used, for example, in development mental experiments. These experiments serve as tools that contribute to the scientific development, especially when they are used considering the imagination as a resource that will guide the possible changes that a conjecture may suffer, throughout its development. It is also explored the importance of treating the role of imagination in scientific activity in science teaching using a specific historical episode – called "The Feynman Dish" – in order to consider this a useful way to minimize the empiricist conception scientific activity, intending to foster teaching in and about science.

We present an interaction between Science and Artfrom the study of movement of a model of a mug called "equilibrist" to better understanding the physical concepts of equilibrium for a rigid body. We call attention to a relationship between different equilibrium conditions of two mugs produced with different materials, ceramic and crystal, but with similar configurations. We produced the chronophotos of several initial positions of the mugs in order to study the equilibrium conditions from possible inclines, with and without liquid. We understand that studies of Physics from artistic objects can show that around us have Science and Art integrating and arousing students' interest in the teaching and learning of Physics.

The methodologies of newly-doctors of post-graduation programs in sociology in Brazil: from disciplines to theses
This paper analyzes the sociology doctors in Brazilian Graduate Studies and investigates the hypothesis that the research problems content in the sociology thesis are not determinant for the methods used in the works, in the methodology of the theses. Our hypothesis consider as more important than the sociologies problems and issues the technical skills the PhD students have about different kinds of methodology. The present article seeks to observe the attention given to the methodological aspect of thesis work, examining the perception and interest that doctors have in relation to the various methodological ways of research. We present article has a documentary analysis about the methodology courses in PhDs graduate studies and a content analysis carried out from 35 interviews with recent sociology PhDs. It also examines the emphasis the theses placed on methodological considering aspects as institutional relations and academic exchanges.

Monitoring of hydroelectric projects in the Tocantins River basin, Brazil: what have we learned from studies of aquatic macrophytes
The objective of the present work was to analyze the environmental studies and monitoring of aquatic plants in reservoirs of hydroelectric plants to develop a policy for managing these communities for existing and future reservoirs. The literature review and documentary analysis were carried out in search of information on environmental impact assessments, monitoring of each hydroelectric project, books, magazines, special publications, specialized websites and written press, available on the Internet or in libraries. The documents obtained were systematized and the information organized chronologically per undertaking considering the study area, sampling method, time and sampling number. It was found that there is still great difficulty in accessing documents in the hands of environmental agencies. It was observed that monitoring, mainly under an environmental operating license, is not being carried out systematically, leaving important gaps regarding the composition and abundance of species, which makes it difficult to compare their behavior over time. For monitoring studies, different methods were used which influenced the results when an integrated analysis was sought. It is necessary to create procedures and define methods in the environmental licensing process for the systematization of studies and monitoring, to improve the accessibility and allow the integrated analysis of data.

The centenary of Mario Bunge: contextualizing his work on scientific models in the philosophy of science and as a reference in research in teaching
The year 2019 marks the centenary of the birth of Argentinean physicist and philosopher of science Mario Augusto Bunge, prolific author of a vast work that covers a wide spectrum of interests. In this article we discuss his work on scientific models in the context of the philosophy of science from the twentieth century. We seek to characterize the author's epistemological conception, emphasizing aspects of this conception that stand out in his theory about models, specifically regarding the problematic of the relation between knowledge and reality. Finally, we argue in favor of the fecundity of bungean ideas as a framework for modelling-based teaching, and we also address an objection frequently made to this framework.

Do political parties matter in defining political careers in Brazil?
This article aims to analyze whether political parties are important on the political career choices of Brazilian federal deputies. Therefore, this work is based on the theoretical contributions on political career that have shown that the main career pattern presented by congressmen is static, that is, seek for re-election (PEREIRA; RENNÓ, 2013). The explanation pointed out is that this choice is the safest, regardless of the parties to which they are affiliated. However, other authors have called attention to the need to verify the importance of factors that differentiate deputies in a more disaggregated analysis of political careers such as participation in the government coalition or opposition groups (BORGES; SANCHES FILHO, 2016), as well as the differences presented within the districts (COSTA, 2018; CORRÊA, 2016). In addition, the party variable can be an important factor in defining the careers due to ideological differences between the parties (MARENCO; SERNA, 2007) and the strategic interests of the parties in the elections for Mayor in the big cities. Thus, this article aims to test if the party variable matters for the career choice of federal deputies, as well as the other variables portrayed in the literature. The results show that deputies of leftist parties and the government coalition are more likely to run for reelection and the city hall than those of the right and center.

Teaching Sociology: the constitution of a subfield of research
The aim of the article is to reflect on the identity of the research area on the teaching of sociology in basic education, in view of the debate already initiated by some authors that support the hypothesis of this area being a subfield of research within the scientific field of the social sciences. Dialogue with Pierre Bourdieu's concept of the field, the article dialogues with some of these works and at the same time presents results of the profile research of the masters researchers who have developed researches on the subject. The data collected by the profile corroborate the hypothesis that the teaching of sociology constitutes a sub-field of research.

The trajectory of Chien Shiung Wu and her contributions to Physics
The field gender and science has contributed to the construction of new stories, now, of female scientists, new looks for scientific practices and new reflections for a more representative science. In order to contribute to more stories of women in the sciences, we will discuss the trajectory of Sino-American experimental physics Chien Shiung Wu and her contribution to physics from the analysis of primary and secondary literature. Wu is considered one of the most important scientists of the twentieth century, developing techniques and experiments that were extremely important to modern physics, and yet is little explored by the history of science literature. In analyzing her trajectory, we perceive that Wu faced difficulties and obstacles of different orders: hierarchical and institutional segregation, and discrimination of race and gender. Finally, we believe that writing stories of female scientists can contribute to a more representative science, and consequently, to break with the androcentric vision of it.

Higher education in times of neoliberal adjustment and loss of rights
This article presents some of the reflections made in a research group of the Graduate Program in Social Work of the Fluminense Federal University in the State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The reflections are based on bibliographic research and document analysis regarding the different phases of neoliberal counterrevolution in Brazil, discussing the permanent fiscal adjustment policy – that aims to ensure the payment of public debt – and its consequences in public spending on higher education. The conclusions indicate that government actions lead to deepening the precariousness of public universities, expansion of the privatization of higher education, and regression of workers’ rights, suggesting the rise of a new stage of the class struggle in the country.

The grounded theory in management research: evidences and reflections
The present study aimed to analyze the Brazilian publications in the area of management that used Grounded Theory (GT) as a method, seeking to provide an overview of its use in the country and identifying its main characteristics. For that, an integrative literature review was carried out, based on the consultation of the ANPAD congress annals database and the Spell data platform. The analysis was based on the characterization of the sample, as well as fourteen elements of the TFD. The results demonstrate a concentration of doctoral authors from the south and southeast of the country. In addition to the reduction in the use of the method in recent years. Still, it was observed that many studies did not go into the details of the use of the method. It appears that PDT consists of a complex method, and that it demands a lot of dedication and time from the researcher, due to the immersion in the data. Given this, it is evident the need for a greater discussion about the method in scientific events, in addition to the its introduction in graduate programs in management in the country.
