The persistence of mysticism, common sense and bad faith in the miraculous recipes against Covid-19: a proposal for interpretation
The article is a reflection on the recurrent character of misinformation in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. Part of the review of misinformation concepts (UNESCO, 2019; SHAO, 2020; POSETTI; BONCHEVA, 2020), addresses the articulation between religion, common sense and bad faith in the interpretation of reality, showing how they can serve misinformation (FREUD, 2006; ELIADE, 2001, HARARI, 2016, MARTINO, 2017; PONDÉ, 2018), and analyzes the form and content of five messages about miracle recipes, checked by the Nujoc Checking website. Finally, it proposes four reading keys to interpret the data: a. The seal of divinity; B. The persistence of tradition; ç. The invisible nature of evil; d. The cyclical character of disinformation.

Of fake news and fake History
This paper presents the Portuguese translation of a compilation of lectures by Professor Jason Steinhauer on the topic of fake news and its correlate, fake History, a concept coined by the author, to account for the strength with which obscurantism has striken and shaped the view on the past and the competence in History of the general public. The article analyzes correlations between the two issues that greatly weaken the public's ability to distinguish false from real information, and proposes a proactive communicative strategy on the part of historians, History Communication, a vital element to fighting the falsifying and unscientific discourse present in today’s main means of diffusion –especially in new technologies, news websites and social media – that uncritically associates History with the past.

Disinformation, antivaccine and politics of death: the myth of becoming an alligator
In this article we propose a reflection on how misinformation (WARDLE; DERAKSHAN, 2017) and antivaccine movements (VASCONCELLOS-SILVA; CASTIEL, 2020) hinder the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, especially when sanctioned by public agents, given their visibility and influence in the social sphere (SOARES JÚNIOR, 2020; RECUERO et. al., 2021). Thus, we analyze the statement of the president of the republic, Jair Bolsonaro, in which he associates vaccination against the disease to the myth of turning alligator. Understanding the discourse from its discursive materiality, we use a foucauldian perspective (FOUCAULT, 2001; 2008; 2014), in a biopolitical aspect and its security devices.

The “João Doria’s chinese vaccine”: The influence of political-ideological dispute on disinformation about vaccination against Covid-19
This article analyzes the influence of political and ideological disputes on disinformation about Covid-19 vaccination on WhatsApp. Through discursive legitimation strategies for disinformation content (SOARES et al., 2021b), nine vídeos - circulated in the app between November 30, 2020 to January, 30, 2021 - were investigated to understand 1) what would be the characteristics about the Covid-19 vaccine that circulated in the app during the period and 2) how the political-ideological discourse influenced the disinformation contents about the vaccine. In our study, it was observed that disinformation about Covid-19 vaccination operates through conspiracy theories that use, above all, medical authorities to validate their discourse.

From the scientist and his (dis)legitimation: Atila Iamarino and the context of Coronavirus in Brazil in 2020
In this text, we start from the conceptual assessments of postmodernity proposed by Jean-François Lyotard (2020) to observe and discuss the legitimacy position of the scientist as a specialist involved in the so-called contemporary 'expertise crisis', presented by the author Gil Eyal (2019) . Along the way, we briefly reflect on the main changes in the formation of modern science, the occurrence of postmodernity and the tension in specialization relations. The empirical material refers to a series of negative comments to an opinion post by Brazilian biologist Atila Iamarino on the social network Twitter, in June 2020. In the assessment of which elements are evidenced by users who are critical of the scientist, the analyzes demonstrated the absence of arguments on the part of opponents and the resistance to the use of a totalizing scientific argumentation, with criticism not of the work, but of the person of the scientist.

Framings and misinformation about COVID-19 vaccine on YouTube: scrambles between science and denial
This study analyzes framing and its relationship with misinformation in 50 videos from Brazilian influencers about COVID-19 vaccines posted on YouTube in 2020, selected from the engagement, considering views, comments and likes. As a theoretical-methodological path, the idea of frames is adopted as “interpretatives packages” that produce meanings and have resonance in culture. The results show that the frames 'Risk and Scientific Uncertainty' and 'Public Policy and Political Strategy', although subordinated to the dominant frame 'New Technological Development', were the most triggered in the occurrence of informational disorder in the narratives of doctors, religious, YouTubers and communication professionals. The misinformation present in anti-vaccine discourses also occurs in narratives that defend science and the vaccine, highlighting the tensions and/or ambiguities that can occur in the media framework. The 'New Technological Development' frame was predominant in the sample and in the fight against misinformation, highlighting the narratives of researchers and science disseminators, which demonstrate the importance of scientific dissemination.

In the context of denial and veiled information during the Covid-19 pandemic, this article presents an analysis of the audiovisual coverage in the regional television journalism of MG1 and MG2 - Zona da Mata, of TV Integração, on a case in Barbacena, Minas Gerais, involving the Escola Preparatória de Cadetes do Ar (Epcar), between May and July 2020. The work shows this information war and reflects on the role of journalism in combating fake news and the dissemination of information in the pandemic period, in addition to reinforcing that, through it, it is possible to transfer knowledge about what is happening in the world. In addition, the article showed how journalism becomes an important tool in a period of strong negative practices, whose actions can impact public health. The study adopted the Audiovisual Materiality Analysis methodology (COUTINHO, 2016).

Conspiracionism and media-political denial: discursive complementarities between Bolsonaro and Sikêra Júnior on the Covid-19 pandemic
The study investigates articulations between media and politics in favour of a common narrative about the Covid-19 pandemic based on conspiracy and denialism theories and making use of populist and hate speeches. The analysis focuses on videos about the pandemic by Sikêra Júnior, the presenter of the TV program Alerta Nacional. The results suggest complementarities between the communicator and the speech of President Jair Bolsonaro, in a communicative strategy that integrates hegemonic media and social networks as a way to enhance the dissemination of misinformation. There are also evidences of relationships that preserve the patron-client roots of the Brazilian communication system.

Digital communication and health of the population. Analysis of the communication of organisms and biopolitics in times of pandemic
With a theoretical approach that takes up studies of language, the sociology of communication, organizations and psychology, this research aims to investigate the impact of digital communication on the pandemic on Twitter, in the official accounts of the World Organization of Health (WHO), the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the Undersecretary of Health of Mexico (Hugo López Gatell) in the interaction (favorites, retweets and comments) with their followers; and analyze the messages (twetts-infographics) from the categories of significance of the visual structure, code and argumentative structure, in order to know the relationship with their interaction. The qualitative methodology on the images, considers the frame, color, text, attitude of the characters (action / passivity). The most important finding is that the Twitter account of an official produces more interaction than the official accounts of international organizations in times of pandemic.

Kurdish women from a cinematographic perspective: a discussion about the film Girls of the Sun
This article discusses the film Girls of the Sun (2018), directed by the French filmmaker Eva Husson, considering the representations of the Kurdish people and their struggles, especially the female resistance to the Islamic State. The objective is to evaluate how the film establishes and presents the Kurdish situation - in the West/East opposition - in relation to female representation, mainly as a new way of portraying armed conflicts in audiovisual productions and, also, in the work of journalistic coverage, since, in general, the Kurdish question is not very important in the West due to geographical distance and cultural differences. We take the narrative elements of the film as discursive materials of great aesthetic and political relevance when producing speeches that often seem distant from the viewer, even though it is a fictional narrative based on real events. For that, we use theoretical references that support some concepts pertinent to such discussion, such as Orientalism, social representations, cultural identity, discourse, in addition to the geopolitical and social contextualization of Kurdistan and related territories.

Psychopolitics: neoliberalism and new power technique
Protect me from what I want” is the subtle warning inherent in contemporary capitalism, explains Byung-Chul Han (2018b, p. 28) in Psychopolitics: Neoliberalism and the New Techniques of Power. Although it is characteristic of this South Korean philosopher to be brief in exposing his thoughts, it is not his profile to offer a calm reading - he ends up conceiving homeopathic doses of discomfort. An essayist based in Germany, Han teaches at the University of Berlin. Its theoretical elaboration is focused on the relationship between neoliberalism and the psychological life of individuals, as can be seen in works such as Sociedade do fatigue (HAN, 2015), In the swarm: perspectives of the digital (HAN, 2018a) and What is power? (HAN, 2019). In the book that is the subject of this review, the author directs surgical proposals to think about how “freedom and unlimited communication have been transformed into monitoring and total control” (HAN, 2018b, p.19).

Feminine body, Aging and Cultural Industry: an analysis of an propaganda from the point of view of Critical Theory
It is common for women to feel discomfort with the appearance of their bodies when they notice skin aging. There is this that struggles for beauty since youth and that they were never able to conceive of aging as a natural process and also how, over the years, they developed a denial of old age due to the loss of socially valued physical attributes. A difficulty in self-acceptance is heightened by the Cultural Industry which, by promising a full and happy life, leads people to generalization and alienated consumption. This qualitative and documentary article analyzes, from the Critical Theory, an advertisement for Cicatricure Gold Lift, a facial rejuvenation product, published in 2020, in Brazil. Through aesthetic resources and the fetishization of science, an advertisement intends not only to convince the viewer to consume the product, but also spreads the idea that the natural aging of the skin is a sad and painful process.

Media, Alienation and Extension: innocence in the use of new media
Paradoxically, the means are seen as elements that generate both emancipation and alienation. The critique of alienation is commonly observed in the Frankfurt School discourse, while the vision of emancipation is in the Theory of Means. Analyzing this issue dialectically, we intend to confront the functionalist view of McLuhan's Theory of Means, with the critical view of Adorno and Horkheimer's Frankfurt School, in order to seek a synthesis that demonstrates how the two ideas validate, and that the means they produce both alienation and emancipation. To develop this question, it will be observed how at the beginning of any media revolution, the innocence of users usually facilitates the emergence of political figures with fundamentalist discourses: it was like that with the mass media and Nazism, it has been like that with the media digital.
