Do moderno ao contemporâneo: uma perspectiva sociológica da modernidade nas artes plásticas
Have like backstage a reflexion about autonomy of art and the confusion in the bounderies of culture world, we will to design a caracterization of the modernity through a reconstruction of the concepts of art and artist, from the end of the XIX century to the global context of the beguin of the XXI century, that we understand here like a space of radical modernity.
Identidade e pertencimentos: reflexões sobre a filmografia de Afonso Brazza
In this paper, based on the filmography of Afonso Brazza, I propose some questions about the market of cinema, particularly in the West, and about the nature of many films narratives that may represent counterpoints to the patterns and hegemonic structures of production and distribution in cinematographic industry. The films made by this movie maker, in Brasília, Soldier of Fire Department, may be thought as radical narratives that, playing, interact with the excesses of cultural and cinematographic industries. In his narratives, the signs and heroes of stories told by others, especially by North American movies, are eaten anthropophagically, incorporated and retold, in new stories, telling about his own way into the word, and his belonging.
Pretérito do futuro: o Museu de Arte Moderna do Rio de Janeiro e seu projeto de modernidade
This article deals with the foundation of the Museum of Modern Art, MAM, Rio de Janeiro, and analyzes the various projects that worked together to bring a new institution into the world. The kernel of the thesis centers around the discussions of the concept of modernity and the article compares the Rio de Janeiro MAM with its American model, The Musem of Modern Art in New York.

Tô maluco, mas tô em obra: a trajetória do artista moderno e as representações da loucura
This essay compares two historical contexts in which the alliance between art, psychology and psychiatry was set in motion as a resource in the transformation of madness’ and the artistic phenomenon’s representations. In such a way, I depart from the reflections on the transformations in the values’ systems that conducted the artistic phenomenon in Brazil, in middle of 20th century, consecrating the individual singularity as a locus of the modern artistic production. The alliance between art, psychology and psychiatry was fundamental in this process, in which social actors’ strategies, actions and behaviors had constructed a system of representations that transformed the imaginary role and the creator’s symbolic place. From this process, I compared the alliance between art, psychology and psychiatry in that context and the use of artistic manifestations in the current “Psychiatric Reformation”, showing that both representations, that of the insane and the artist, are constituted of antagonistic values.
BLAST/MIMO performance with space-time processing receivers
The use of antenna arrays at both ends of the link has attracted significant attention of the researches on space-time equalization and coding techniques for so called multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) channels. The presence of strong co-channel interference (CCI) in addition to inter-symbol interference (1S1) in current wireless (mobile) communication systems places a significant challenge to MlMO space-time equalizers. In this work we assess performance of BLAST/MIMO on frequency-selective MlMO channel model in the presence of CC1. Space-time processing is used in order to deal with the fiequency selectivity and to provide more degrees of freedom to deal with cochannel interference. We consider two non-linear space-time processing-based receivers. The first one is a MlMO spacetime decision feedback equalizer (MIMO ST-DFE) and the second one is a space-time delayed decision feedback sequence estimator (MIMO ST-DDFSE) with actual adaptive algorithms for channel acquisition. Noise-limited as well as interference-limited situations are evaluated.

Imigrantes, cirurgias plásticas e poder em dois tempos: contribuição para uma hipótese de pesquisa
This article formulates a research hypothesis about the use of plastic surgery by immigrants in two political differing scenarios both socially and culturally at the time frontier between the XIX and XX centuries, plastic surgery being seen as a resource for affirmation of a sole and centered identity that were scientifically and politically legitimated by ideas propounding racial superiority and social evolution. In the transition of XIX century to the XX century, however, surgical interventions to change physical appearance was a strategy approach that did not eliminate the possibility of acquiring other identities (gender, sexual orientation etc). In the two scenarios, immigrants that underwent plastic surgeries were searching to “erase” bodily marks that would reveal their foreign condition and hamper their search of advancement in the job market and social environment.
Luta em torno do Parque Estadual Cristalino (MT): qual a natureza do conflito?
The Cristalino State Park is considered one of conservation areas of greatest relevance to the Amazon. Since its establishment, especially after 2006, drew up successive disputes about its existence. The most important of which is located on one side, advocates of maintaining the defined area of the park and on the other, those who advocate the reduction. This article examines the nature of this conflict, considering the main aspects that give support, in particular its field of struggle, the actors involved and their positions and interests. Using the existing literature on the conflict, available documents, documents, interviews and observation in loco, this article asks about the nature of completing the environmental dimension.

Polimorfismo conformacional no modafinil investigado através de cálculos DFT e espectroscopia vibracional
Polymorphism, de ned as the ability of a molecule (or a set of molecules) to adopt several packing arrangements, became, in the last decades, a eld of research on its own. Among other advantages of studying polymorphic systems, one can cite the study of the in- uence of molecular packing on solid-state properties, a better understanding of nucleation and crystal growth mechanisms. These advantages became relevant due to their impacts on the control of bioavailability and processes in pharmaceutical industry. In the present work we study the polymorphism of a pharmaceutical substance, the moda nil, which is the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) of the Provigil R. Moda nil, whose chemical name and structural formula are, respectively, 2-[(diphenylmethyl)sul nyl]acetamide and C15H15NO2S, is indicated in the treatment of narcolepsy, speci cally the excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS), which is a narcolepsy side e ect. Up to now, seven polymorphic forms of moda nil have been observed and the polymorphic forms I and III are the most stable ones. The determination of the crystalline structures of the forms I and III showed that there are two independent molecules, which are enantiomers, in each one of these polymorphs. Besides, moda nil has been crystallized in the forms R and S obtained after the separation of the enantiomers. DFT calculations were performed to investigate the conformational stability of the molecules of moda nil. The main torsions of the molecules were scanned in order to identify the stable conformations, which were compared with independent ones obtained from the crystalline structures determined experimentally. For each calculated conformation, we also calculated the vibrational spectra. These theoretical results were compared with the Raman spectra of the polymorph III of moda nil. In such a way, the main features of the vibrational spectra that allow the polymorph discrimination were correlated with molecular groups associated to these vibrational modes providing an insight into the intra- and intermolecular interaction associated to the polymorphism of moda nil.
O moleque Ricardo como crônica de vida de famílias negras urbanas na época da decadência do patriarcalismo
Based on an ethnographical reading of O Moleque Ricardo, one of the novels that forms José Lins do Rego’s sugar-cane cycle, published in 1935, this article reflects about the configuration and transformations of the free black family, in a context different from that of the casa-grande (the slave-owner’s house). From the novel’s main thread – wage-workers’ labor - we will explore the relationship between the engenho (sugarcane farms and mills) and the city and the social plots in which issues such as politics, religion, work and carnival delineated codes of solidarity and recreated other family arrangements among the mocambeiros (those who live in the mocambos, city slums in Recife), quite different from those who lived at the senzalas (slave houses).
Serra dos padres: refúgio e história: uma aproximação etnográfica ao Memorial de Maria Moura
Based on Raquel de Queiroz’s novel Memorial de Maria Moura, this article intends to analyze the image of the Brazilian woman in this book, regarding its position in the patriarchal family and in Brazilian society at large. The several intrigues, which, responding to particular ways of developing social and politic relationships in Brazil, constitutes the novel, will be presented paradigmatically as a mirror of Brazilian society of those times. The conceptions concerning the fights and the issues in the story in Memorial de Maria Moura will be the connected to the various attributes which Brazilian sociological and anthropological literature has given to the Brazilian woman of those times.

Os vice-reis do norte: reconversao de elites agrárias e a revolução de 1930 (1920-1964)
This paper aims at understanding the way the concept of Brazil transformed itself, during the XXth century, from an archipelago structured about «islands» of agro-industrial plantations of coffee, sugarcane, cocoa, cotton, rubber, to a «continent» marked by rapid industrialization and urbanization. Belong these evolutive perceptions of Brazil’s space, attention must be paid to the social and intellectual trajectories of key leaders — be they from the North, during the Thirties (such as Juarez Távora and José Américo de Almeida), or the most significant figure of the national movement, Getúlio Vargas — as these trajectories highlight the evolution of the political arena and the expansion of public institutions. The trajectories of these elites unravel fairly well the diverse alternatives which have marked statebuilding and nation-building in contemporary Brazil.
Espectroscopia Raman em Cristais de L-Valina Deuterada e L-Isoleucina sob altas pressões
In this thesis, are studied by Raman spectroscopy of two amino acid crystals subjected to conditions of high pressures. The rst is a sample of deuterated L-Valine. Initially, an attempt was made to identify all the bands that appear in the Raman spectrum of deuterated L-Valine, comparing with the results of L-Valine hydrogenated in the literature. The following study was conducted on the sample compressed in a cell with argon pressure to extremes of diamonds in the range between 0:0 GPa and 12 GPa this study can conclude that between 0:0 and 1:3 GPa, the L-Valine su ers a deuterated structural change, according to information provided by the Raman spectra of the material in the region of external modes. At higher pressures, between 5 GPa and 7 GPa, changes occur in the Raman spectra in nearly all spectral regions, which also points to a possible conformational change of molecules in the unit cell. It also provided the values (@!j=@P)T for the various modes of vibration of the crystal at various stages presented by the same. The second investigation was the amino acid L-Isoleucine, which was studied by Raman spectroscopy under high pressures up to about 7:5 GPa with the compressor as a liquid mineral oil. Analysis in the spectral region 50 cm1 { 3200 cm1, one can infer that above 2:5 GPa and 5:0 GPa large conformational changes occur in the molecule of L-Isoleucine in the unit cell. When you make a graph of the wave number of two-mode network of the crystal of L-Isoleucine investigated as a function of pressure, there are clear discontinuities at approximately 2:3 GPa and 5:0 GPa These changes were associated with changes in the connections hydrogen, since the major changes were observed in the frequency bands associated with the NH+ 3 rocking and the rocking of CO 2 .

Redes de cidades e inovação social
This article highlights the prevalent relationship in the field of urban policies and local cultural policies, polarized between network performance and capacity for innovation. The networks are scrutinized from the point of the view of iconiCity, a concept which allows contrasting linguistically the ideas of icon and city, and putting in evidence the competition between cities. The personified and essentialized dimensions of the city leading the urban spaces to gather dynamics designed and operated to feed concepts of development which assume the shape of networks.

Da governança global à sustentabilidade local: Portugal e o Brasil em perspectiva com parada
The article evaluates the extent of the idea of sustainable development in effect since Agenda 21 which was promoted by global leaderships as far as it contributes to a better understanding of environment control, especially in relation to consequential actions in advancing local efforts. It highlights different senses of belonging arising from associations with regional separate blocks which in turn give rise to equally different answers to the theme of sustainability by the countries. There is a confirmation of this even when two realities are compared (Portuguese and Brazilian) which emphasizes the hypothesis that cultural and socioeconomic factors interfere with the policies that boost implementation of sustainability.
