Religion and family and social ties are an important support network. Complaints about the lack of information, the form of communication, the absence of interdisciplinarity in care are also reported.

Screening for the risk of Obstructive Sleep Apnea in elderly people treated in Primary Health Care

This is a cross-sectional study, with the objective of determining the risk of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in the elderly assisted in Primary Health Care (PHC). Of the 70 elderly people studied, 51 (72.9%) had an intermediate / severe risk of OSA. Correlation of OSA with female gender (p = 0.04), self-perceived health (p = 0.01), body mass index (p = 0.001), number of comorbidities (p = 0.002), arterial hypertension (p <0.001) and diabetes mellitus (p = 0.001). In the studied population, a high frequency of risk of OSA with moderate to severe severity was found. Therefore, it is important that PHC health professionals routinely assess sleep-disordered breathing in this population, aiming at their early diagnosis.

Taking care of yourself and the other: elderly people “at home” during the COVID-19 pandemic

The objective is to analyze the daily lives of elderly people during the pandemic. Exploratory-descriptive, qualitative study with 574 participants. Data collected by digital form. The categories emerged from the inductive analysis: what you did during your time "at home", the help you need in your daily life, the multiple meanings of care: of yourself and the other. It is concluded that the daily life was marked by the interruption and intensification of activities and that the elderly people were protagonists in the care of themselves and the other.

The state of death and the pandemic of COVID-19: developments of a support service for the elderly

The present experience report reflects on the modus operandi of a support service for the elderly in a city in the interior of the state of Paraná. The reflections are described in the light of the neoliberal ideas in a dialectical perspective, seeking to bring notes on what to reflect on what escapes the eyes and which greatly influences the demands that came to us as workers of the social assistance secretariat. The methodological path was followed through the report of experience in a certain time period, where the complaints presented by the elderly made (re) think about the service and its initial assumptions, understanding that the support dimension is strictly linked to the welcoming dimension to guarantee the services provided. Your rights. The initial perceptions presented correlate with the state of death and point to the constitution of a state of invisibility for vulnerable populations, with a focus here, the elderly population.

Description of hospitalizations and analysis of elderly sensitive conditions: integrative review

This study aimed to describe and analyze the results of Brazilian scientific production on hospitalizations of elderly people for conditions sensitive to Primary Care from 2008 to 2019, through an integrative review carried out in the SciELO, LILACS and MEDLINE databases with a final sample of 21 articles. The results obtained showed a decrease in these hospitalizations in the country, showing that timely and quality access to primary care are relevant factors. The ACSC indicator, whose analysis is directly related to the interpretation of the organization of the health system and the determinants and social conditions of the health-disease process, considering the epidemiological, economic, cultural, social and demographic profile of the population, gathers sufficient elements for the process evaluation of system performance in the three spheres of power. An important indicator to assess Primary Care, and the entire health system, as it is capable of identifying possible problems in the access and quality of services provided, contributing to the discussion of the effectiveness of SUS principles and guidelines. It allows for reflection on the limits and possibilities of the professional practice of the workers involved, and of the managers responsible for drawing up policies, at the Municipal, State or National levels.
