Meanings of intrafamily violence experienced in childhood/adolescence present in the discourses of men
ABSTRACT Objective: to unveil the meanings of intrafamily violence experienced in childhood and/or adolescence by men under legal proceedings due to conjugal violence. Method: a qualitative research, based on Thematic Oral History and supported by Symbolic Interactionism. Participants were men under legal proceedings due to domestic violence who had experienced or witnessed intrafamily violence in childhood and/or adolescence. Results: the speeches revealed that the intrafamily violence experienced in childhood and/or adolescence was signified as an educational method. The aggressions committed by parents were only perceived as acts of violence in situations considered extreme, such as in cases of using a firearm, handcuffs, and rope. Final considerations: considering that the meanings direct human conduct and that they are subject to modification depending on social interactions built throughout life, it is believed that educational strategies that encourage the redefinition of violence can be effective in facing this problem.

Working conditions of a nursing team in mental health facility
ABSTRACT Objective: To analyze how the nursing team from a Psychosocial Care Center II relates its insertion in the service with the work process. Methods: Descriptive, analytical research outlined as a case study with a qualitative approach. The data were collected through semi-structured interviews with nursing professionals and went through content analysis subsidized by Bardin’s work. Results: Two thematic categories emerged: a) Ways of intake in the nursing services at the Psychosocial Care Center; b) Setbacks in nursing routine at the Psychosocial Care Center. Final considerations: The fact that the professionals have not planned to work in mental health nor have training impacts the rhythm of psychosocial care development at the Psychosocial Care Center, forcing them to seek training in the field after admission. Unmotivated by the working conditions, the nursing team suffers from the absence of an interdisciplinary partnership and goes to great lengths to approach psychosocial care.

Gender, psychosocial stressors, wellbeing and coping in prehospital care workers
ABSTRACT Objective: to identify the profile of psychosocial stressors, wellbeing at work and coping in prehospital care workers and its distinctions in relation to gender. Methods: cross-sectional quantitative study with workers from public prehospital care. A sociodemographic instrument, the Psychosocial Stressors in the Labor Context Scale, the Inventory of Welfare at Work and the Occupational Coping Scale, were applied. Results: In a sample of 585 workers, women had greater role overload (p=0.002), career insecurity (p<0.001), lack of autonomy (p=0.03) and work- family conflict (p<0.001) compared to men. Men showed greater commitment and satisfaction at work than women (p<0.001). The other factors and dimensions showed no statistically significant difference according to gender. Conclusion: Women were more affected by psychosocial stressors, which probably reduced their wellbeing at work. This was possibly because they experienced a different social context from men.

ABSTRACT Objective: Identify, analyze and understand the social representations of nursing professionals about burnout syndrome. Method: Qualitative study with nursing professionals who worked in the direct assistance to oncologic patients, conducted through semi-structured interview, using the technique of content analysis, anchoring the interpretations in the theory of social representations. Results: Seven professionals participated; after analysis, two categories emerged: “The stress of professionals, the naturalization of suffering and self-care strategies”; and “Ressignifications, learning in the oncologic sector and network gaps”. The representations about stress and the relationship of the professionals with the daily practice were predominant. Final Considerations: The nursing professionals represented the burnout syndrome socially as stress and made important reflections on the subject in the context of daily work. Concepts that determine the behavior of professionals were perceived as mechanisms of confrontation. In the vision of this social group, spirituality was revealed as a therapeutic strategy.

Psychosocial factors in nursing work and occupational risks: a systematic review
ABSTRACT Objective: to identify, in international scientific production, the main psychosocial factors in nursing work, found through the Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire (COPSOQ) application. Methods: a systematic review study of psychosocial factors at work among nursing professionals, who used COPSOQ in the assessment of work environments. Results: fifteen articles were identified, which highlighted as main psychosocial dimensions of nursing work demands, work organization, social relationships and leadership, work-home interface, workplace health and well-being and offensive behaviors. Conclusion: the high demands for cognitive, emotional work and work pace were identified in the nursing routine. Management support had a positive impact. Physical and psychological violence and shift work interfere in family life, aggravating the fatigue of these professionals. Interventions for reducing work stress presuppose the identification of psychosocial factors involved in nursing work.
