Quality of life of elderly submitted hemodialysis: a systematic review
This study aims to understand the current landscape of national literature on quality of life (QOL) of elderly undergoing hemodialysis and the possible effects of treatment, through a systematic review of studies conducted in the last decade. A search was made in the indexing databases of the Virtual Health Library (VHL) in the period 2003-2013. It was concluded that there are numerous factors that cause low QOL for the elderly undergoing HD, including physical, psychological and sociocultural, with variations according to the analyzed field.

The teaching of cognitive assessment in undergraduate Gerontology courses
Knowing to properly evaluate cognitive impairment is an important skill in training of healthcare professionals. In the undergraduate Gerontology in Latin America and Portugal, clinical assessment protocols include the necessity of using cognitive screening instruments. This study aimed, therefore, assists in education of undergraduate student from healthcare area, through the preparation of educational videos and a manual about the implementation of the most used instruments in Gerontology undergraduate courses.

Evaluation of dimensions Responsiveness and Requirement of grandparents perceived for teen grandchildren: Adaptation of an instrument to classification of grandparent styles
The study show the adaptation of the instrument characterized for Likert scales to assess the responsiviness and requirement dimensions. The instrument was applicated to 28 adolescents of both sexes aged between 10 to 19 years old with grandchildren of grandparents school students from Ceilândia (DF). The classification of grandparents styles was realized through the results obtained by the grandparents participants of the study in the responsiviness and requirement dimensions. The proportion of grandparents styles observed in the sample was 10,3 authoritarian, 39,3 authoritative, 10,3 indulgent, 93,3 negligent.

Experiences of aging on the beach environment
This study aims to investigate the bodily practices of the elderly in the beach environment as contemporary experience of aging through ethnographic research. The results indicate that the image of the elderly at the beach reaches a multifaceted state because it has not radically different bodily practices adopted by young people, or configured as fully equivalent to those of old, thus bringing new focus on the elderly in the contemporary era.

Self-care of octogenarian elders: challenge to Psychology
As the process self-caring is a foundational element of human subjectivity, the research aims produce knowledge related to the perception of the elderly octogenarian about self-care. The used methodology was of qualitative approach of exploratory descriptive type. The sample is non probabilistic, composed by 10 participants, defined by typicality, corresponding to the elderly aged 80 years or more. The data were collected through semi-structured interview and interpreted in the perspective of content analysis. Through the analysis of the narratives, it was observed that the dimensions of the process of ageing, of the quality of life, and of the social value are strictly bonded to self-care.

The quality of life of older people from the influence of religiosity and spirituality: care for the institutionalized elderly in Caetité (BA)
This article illustrates how elderly caretakers from a Long-Term Care Institution (LTCI) perform the care of the body, mind and spirit, and how it affects the life quality of the elderly. Emphasizes the importance of a better preparation for the caretakers to deal and supply the needs of these elderly, in order to provide cares involving the body, mind and the spirit. Uses observational research, with a cross-sectional, descriptive and quantitative qualitative approach.

Life quality and institutionalized elderly’s functional capacity
Objective: Analyzing the life quality (LQ) and the institutionalized elderly’s functional capacity (FC). Materials and Methods: It was consisted an example of 20 elderly, institutionalized, and it was verified the LQ and the FC. Results: It was verified satisfactory scores of LQ and FC among the elderly analyzed, but this sample was based in its exclusion criteria. Conclusion: these aged people showed satisfactory levels of LQ and FC, however it is suggested new evaluation resources of LQ and FC about these people.

The relevance of Immunization for Longevity and consent of the “Senior Companion Program"
The vaccine, a derived substance chemically similar to an infectious and diseasecausingagent has, by immunization ways, attested immunological protection effects againstcertain infectious diseases by increasing the resistance of the human organism. A risk group, suchas the elderly, due to their vulnerability to the flu virus, need to effectively adhere to the annualimmunization campaigns. Currently, it is still registered a low adherence of this public to thevaccine administration, which entails a high number of hospitalizations, complications anddeaths from seasonal flu. This study presents data from a survey conducted in 2014 during thevaccination campaign against influenza, on the consent of 108 people assisted by the "SeniorCompanion Program" of the Midwest region of São Paulo. Objectives: (I) Verify the number ofseniors consenting and not consenting to the vaccination campaign, their possible complaints ofadverse reactions, and myths and misconceptions about the vaccine; (II) Report the team actionsin raising awareness for clarification of questions and provision of information based onscientific evidence. Method: Data were collected via interviews with the elderly assisted by the"Senior Companion Program" which were analyzed by authors included in the literature review.The in-house immunization was given to the elderly with difficulty to go to the UBS (“BasicHealth Unit”) in order to facilitate their access to the vaccine. Results and Discussion: The exactquantification of vaccinated seniors; the number of seniors who did not join the campaignbecause of myths and prejudices; the reduced number of complaints about subsequent reactionsto the vaccine. Conclusion: Through listening to the elderly, it was possible to analyze the reasonsfor their non-adherence to influenza vaccination campaign, and then create tools to raiseawareness of the importance of these actions, by clarifying and dispelling myths andmisconceptions about the vaccine, in order to increase the number of consenting seniors.

Analysis of the sexual behaviors of elderly registered in a Family Health Strategy
Objective to describe sexual behaviors and prior knowledge of registeredelderly in a family health Strategy on sexually transmitted diseases. The knowledge ofsuch disease appeared satisfactory, because most of the elderly showed possess minimuminformation about the forms of transmission and vulnerability. As for sexual behaviours,were disabled, mainly front low use of condoms and HIV test.

A new form of communication for the citizen Senior: Facebook
This paper presents a research with senior citizens and their interactions with the digital social network Facebook. The main objective was to understand the contribution of Facebook in promoting active ageing. It is a qualitative case study in a computer class at a university of the third age of Castelo Branco (Portugal), attended by a group of 13 seniors. The results showed that Facebook is used to communicate, combat loneliness and as a way of lifelong learning.

Checklists Application Accessibility and Usability for Redesign of Site Accessible for the Elderly users
This paper presents the evaluation of the accessibility and usability of four sites with information and services for the elderly user. With the results, the site with the lowest score was selected and underwent a process of Redesign in order to improve their accessibility. In this study the methodology used the ergonomic approach and the use of Design in phases. For this, adopted action research, which stands out for its characteristic of knowing and acting, and then study the results. Participated in this study 21 elderly users voluntarily reviewed the four selected sites, helped in some stages of prototype development and its assessment of accessibility. Among the results, after the Redesign process of prototype and evaluation, it became clear that there was a gain in accessibility and usability over the original version of the site. Fact verified through the application of two Checklists, specific to review sites and for its assessment of accessibility and usability held with the participants of the study elderly. Profile of elderly people with high blood pressure in a family physical activity program
A quantitative and descriptive study, aimed at analyzing the socioeconomic and behavioral profile of elderly people with hypertension interested in participating in a regular physical activity program with their families. The results showed people that mainly belong to the C class, which adopt physically active behavior to the routines of housework in their daily lives. The findings, allows to infer that for specific health promotion arises as necessary regular physical activity as a commitment to add to the home daily demands to health potential.

Actual overview of universities open to seniors in Brazil
The University open to seniors (UNATI) is a program widely deployed in institutions of higher education. The objective was to describe the actual overview of the programs that have focused on the inclusion of the elderly. A questionnaire was sent for 368 Higher Education Institutions. 51 institutions that responded to questionnaire and of these, 26 had a program like UNATI. Starting from questionnaire responses can be concluded that UNATIs are programs that significantly contribute in the aging process.

Active aging and social support among men participating in a Living Center for the elderly
The study raised the profiles of thirteen male members of a Living Center for Seniors in order to verify their personal strategies and social resources for an active old age. Through interviews, the elderly revealed engagement in physical, instrumental and intellectual activities, but low participation in cultural and recreational programs. There was evidence of family support and few barriers to health care. We conclude that elderly men can be good caretakers of their own health.

Down Syndrome and the aging process: a systematic review

The influence of body mass in elderly fallers and elderly non-fallers
The aim of this study was to identify the profile of the body composition of elderly fallers and non-fallers and evaluate its association with the risk of falls. A total of 100 elderly of the community, 28 men and 72 women with a average 71,82 ± 8,09 age of years. The data had been collected by means of SABE, health, well being and aging questionnaire and statistical analyzed in descriptive form via Fisher's exact test. The result of the survey identified that both the elderly fallers and non-fallers were mostly as individuals eutrophic. This contradict the hypothesis that the change of. This contradict the hypothesis that the change of body weight may favor the risk of falls. That was evidenced the importance of prevention of falls, especially in this population, given that other aspects may be involved in this event.

Institutionalized elderly in Santa Maria (RS): leisure as a possibility for social inclusion
This work had the main objective of investigate how the leisure for the institutionalized elderly and that the long-term care institutions offer to them, in the municipality of Santa Maria. There was a semi-structured interview with the elderly and the managers of LTIES, seeking to understand the design of both. As results were observed that the elderly do not have clear what is leisure, as well as the institutions do not offer and when they do it is the leisure static or sightseeing. We can conclude that for the elderly leisure is everything that escapes from your daily routine.

About the positioning of the subject in relation to the institutional routine: the story of two elderly
The long-term care institution for the aged is a kind of protection of the citizen in the absence of effective programs that maintain the elderly in the community and is indicated as a way out of individuals who have stories of lives marked by neglect, poverty, low education and early loss of family. This article presents a report of Susan and Alvaro to start a reflection about possibilities of subjective survival, despite the difficulties imposed by the institutionalization process. These reports teach the history of the subject, its production within the institution, can be re-signified. The discussion guides for the need to preserve interactions, considering that language promotes changes and meanings supports the subject.
