O poder nas organizações : um estudo preliminar a partir da percepção dos trabalhadores

Power is a complex and dynamic phenomena which has been investigated by different sciences. In work organizations its relevance is observed by the increasing number of publications. However, qualitative studies that contemplate Brazilian workers`s perceptions, investigating the possible dimensions of this phenomena, are rare. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the workers`s perception, trying to grasp the meaning and the dimensions of organizational power, focusing mainly the dimension of power games . This research was characterized as an exploratory study in which have taken part ten workers of both genders, coming from public and private organizations in different areas of activities, occupying different posts and who have been working for the organization for at least six months. To data collection it was used a guided and deep interview. To data analysis it was used the content analysis technique. The data analysis resulted in eleven (11) categories which were discussed, separately , according to the researched literature: a) power conceptions; b) who has the power in the organizations; c) types and sources of power; d) informal strategies used by bosses and subordinated workers to reach power positions, to use it and to maintain it, and to react to other powerful persons; e) exercise of legitimate power practised by the bosses; f) strategies of exercise and maintenance of power practised by the bosses; g) reactions of subordinated workers to the legitimate power, and strategies to deal with superiors; h) consequences of the established power relation; i)reasons which make people take part in power games to reach higher positions and keep them; j) organization characteristics that affect the power relations; k) personal characteristics that influence the power relations. The results have contributed to understand the various faces of power in organizations and from them it was possible to propose a definition of power games as a kind of relation, between two actors (boss/subordinated, boss/boss, subordinated/subordinated), who use different means, in an alternated action/reaction movement, to reach and/or keep power positions. This relation can be influenced by organizational and personal characteristics, besides having a positive or negative result. Future researches can use the dimensions identified in this study enhancing the understanding of power in work organizations.

Representações sociais de família para um grupo de professoras do ensino fundamental da cidade de Araguari-MG

Giving credit itself that the professor has a basic paper in the formation of the individual, one became excellent to know which are the representations concerning family, that its thought so that if it can have one better understanding of its teaching action. This study it had as objective to identify the social representations of a group of teachers of basic education concerning the thematic family, from four called situations "routine situations". The situations had been presented the 16 teachers of the four initial series, basic education, that act as regents in the municipal schools of the city of Araguari-MG, and could have been identified as: pertaining to school daily situation, situation notice, letter of music "Family" of the group Titãs and Álbum of the Families, elaborated from clippings of magazines and periodicals. The situations had been applied in the school where the teachers acted, during the schedule of module of the same ones, so that they could read the instruments and proceed to its reply. The result gotten with the use of the four cited instruments made possible, exactly in virtue to offer differentiated languages, that the social representations of family for this group of teachers were known and that we concluded that the teachers are few who had obtained to perceive the different familiar organizations that if make gifts in our context, while the majority still visualizes the family traditional as standard of familiar behavior to be followed. It is suggested, from the data gotten with the accomplishment of the research, a reflection regarding a reorganization in the courses of teaching formation so that the teachers obtain to become more critical in relation pedagogical practical its. One gives credit that this research opens ways so that the subject family boarded and is argued under other vertices, as Sociology, Anthropology, and still inside of proper Psychology, as well as it offers support for the accomplishment of project of intervention capable to mobilize and to sensetize the teachers so that they can review its performance pedagogical, taking the knowledge concerning the familiar dynamics of its pupils as control point for its work in classroom.

Um estudo sobre o uso do método psicanalítico na leitura de relatório de estágio em psicologia clínica na Universidade Federal de Uberlândia

This study intents to make a reflection on the narrative reading of the clinical case described in the psychology training report made at the Psychopedagogy Support and Guidance Departament of the Federal University of Uberlândia. Starting from the informative-avaliative meaning given to the report, a question has come up: what would be the reading way of the supervisor, who would open way to the singular speech of the trainee about the experience with the psychoanalytical treatment? It has been tried through the freudian reading of the clinical and literature cases to recognize the detailed investigation type to be produced about the qualities of the human feels. Aware to the details, to the peculiarities of the speech in the practice and in many other possibilities of psyche production, the freudian texts make the right environment for the analysis experience by surprising the readers to the production of new psychological meanings. During this time the Theory of Fields has appeared as well, as a psychoanalytical literature that recovers and treats directly how to access the unconscious rules that determine the speech in the practice. For the Theory of Fields the psychoanalysis method is the invariant of the psychiatrist s hearing to such rules. By owning the fundamental points that determined this method of investigation and healing - passive-receptiveness and receptiveness-active the author-researcher realized herself immersed in the field of the reading production (the trainee) of a reading (the patient), that the clinical narrative produces. From this position to read the report, it was possible to find by the narrative of the clinical case the mediator of the relationship between psychotherapist and patient in its potentiality, as well as it has been produced guidelines to the supervisor s work in the field of Psychology training

Mediação pedagógica, inserção escolar de alunos com deficiência mental e arte: um olhar sobre o projeto espaço criativo

The inclusion of children with special educational needs in mainstream schools is guaranteed by the Law of Directress and Basis of National Education number 9.394/96 (Lei de Diretrizes e Bases da Educação Nacional LDB 9.394/96). The presence of these children in mainstream schools demands changes in the whole school context as to contribute for its development. In the state of Goiás, the Secretary of Education created the Creative Space Project aiming to promote school inclusion through art in the cities of Goiás. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the pedagogical mediation of teachers in a pole school of the Creative Space Project, a public school in the city of Itumbiara which proposes to include its mentally disabled students using art, aiming to get to know and analyze the mediation in the pedagogical practice of fourth grade designated, support and resource teachers. To accomplish such task observations and video-recordings of the focused context were done, as well as semi structured interviews and audio recordings with three teachers and three mentally disabled students. The material was analyzed microgenetically for category organization. In relation to mediation, it was observed that it is differentiated for the mentally disabled; the designated teacher does not consider them as her students and the supporting teacher works in the corner of the classroom having the students copy numbers and words and do cut and glue tasks. The mediation of the resource teacher is through the materials that she prepares and consists of mimeographed activities and enlarged drawings to be colored. It was also observed that the activities offered by the teachers were standardized and monotonous, neither favoring autonomy nor abstract reasoning. The teachers use artistic activities to occupy the time of the mentally disabled students when they are not able to keep up with the rest of the class. The Creative Space Project does not exist in reality and the teachers do not know the importance of art for affective and cognitive development. These flaws may be traced to the authors who did not offer the necessary resources for the implementation and fulfillment of the project as the teachers indicate when they highlight that they did not take specific art courses and complain about the lack of material. This study verified that inclusion does not happen effectively and there are even moments of segregation mentioned by the mentally disabled students and observed during field work. It becomes relevant to discuss the need to train teachers towards working with students with special educational needs in the mainstream schools because the paradigm of inclusion is a change which involves the whole school context. The practices that aim inclusion need to be constantly questioned so that through time feasible proposals may be constructed as art, if adequately used, consists in a promoting alternative for development and learning.

Os impasses nas funções parentais : da clínica psicanalítica do precoce às transformações sócio-histórico-culturais

This research had as its main objective analyse parental functions transformation in the clinical psycotherapeutical visits by both parent and child trying to stress the impasses in this functions, from a psycoanalytical and from a social cultural history. The family that is presented lately is shown in many different ways (reconstituted families) and it is upon the child and its tie to the parents, that rests the family continuity. There are substancial crises in the relations, mainly towards the father function, where crises of the symbolic references happens, as well as a growing mother centered family, which becomes horizontal and fraternal, going against the old model, in which we saw a vertical way with father centered families.Three clinical cases were analysed , from the infants psychopatology in the first infancy and the method used both for the development of the research and the analysis of the results was the psycoanalytical method. From the related analysts in each clinic cases, important datas were built upon the impasses experienced by comtemporary parents as: the parenting empting and change of location, associated with individualism and lolneliness, which are fundamental marks of the comtemporary subject; also feeling of insufficiency of parents associated to the simulacrum and with a masochistic way of relating to each other; the use of a psychic defensive mechanism denominated incorporation in which the lack of affection and the lowering of the reflexive, critycal and ellaborative capacity are present ; the use of a mechanisms of splitting as the way of dealing with the agony of the real ando f the pain; the use of a formal knowledge in the parent and child relationship against the everyday knowledge and the conception of the child symptoms as reactive to the neurosis of the parents by inter and transgeracional elements.

Memória de trabalho e atenção dividida : um estudo do processamento de frases

The present study had as an objective the analysis of the role of attention in the encoding of sentences and stories based on the working memory model and the Hebb Effect paradigm. The study tried to determine whether there were significant differences between of immediate serial recall in the presence or absence of an attentional concurrent task. The work hypothesis was that attention would act differently in the processing of sentences and stories. 40 students, 18 years or older, participated on the study. The results indicate that attention is primordial for the processing of sentences, but as far as stories go, the processing is done in a relatively automatic way, with little use of attention. The best support for long-term memory for the processing of the stories occurs in an automatic way. The study of the Hebb effect showed that learning occurred in a more efficient way with the stories. As far as the theoretical models, the data match the concept of the Episodic Buffer proposed by Baddeley (2000) and to the Embedded-Processes Model proposed by Cowan (1999).

Bases de poder do supervisor, conflitos intragrupais e comprometimento organizacional e com a equipe: um estudo exploratório

The interaction among the individual and his environment, his organization, his supervisor, his team and his colleagues that the employees will probably develop attitudes, cognitions e behaviors that will reflect the level of organization e team commitment expressed by the worker in his job. Its study presents as the principal objective test a prediction model considering the types of organization and team commitments as dependent variable and the types of supervisors power bases (coercion, reward, legitimate, and expert) and the types of intragroups conflict (task and relationship) as the independents variables. In order to investigate these relations, reliable scales were applied in 148 employees in organizations from Uberlândia and region. Descriptive analysis, correlations analysis and regressions analysis were done. The results indicates that the reward power bases and the relationship conflict explain 30% of the variance of affective team commitment, and the expert power bases and the relationship conflict explain 24% of the employee s affective organization commitment. These results were analyzed e compared with others empirics studies, and the conclusions corroborate findings in the Organization Behaviors. Further researches were proposed.

Satisfação e insatisfação no casamento : os dois lados de uma mesma moeda ?

Marital relationship is the most intimate among the relations, bringing within several particularities that make this issue a rich and never-ending source of information about human nature. The general purpose of this work was to identify husband behaviors responsible to the satisfaction and dissatisfaction of their women. With these results, we tried to analyze similarities and differences between behaviors, in order to verify the possibility of two dimensions, one for satisfaction and other for marital dissatisfaction. The sample was composed by 103 married women, average age of 16 years old, with one or two children, being the majority catholic, that usually go to their church, with an educational level corresponding to completed middle school, and working in several activities, with a salary between R$300.00 and R$900,00. Women were found at their residences, schools and at work location. After being notified about the objectives of the study and agree in participating of it, they were individually interviewed, with the support of a questionnaire developed for this. For data collection, the Critical Incident Technique was used, consisting in getting reports of positive and negative occurrences, and to select the critical situations and behaviors. The questionnaire was composed by two questions on critical incidents, one for the positive incident and other for the negative one, plus four questions about frequent husband behaviors responsible for positive feelings on the women: happiness and love, and for negative feelings: sad/unhappiness and angry. After content analysis, we obtained 124 positive critical incidents and 105 negative ones, which were classified at 11 categories by the situation that they occurred, being day-to-day the most frequent.The results showed that the more frequent positive critical incident refers to: support, protect and care about the wife, to gift and go out or have a trip together. The negative critical incidents included: to offend, to hurt, making important decisions and not consulting the wife, being with other women and to be drunk.The analysis of those behaviors revealed that the ones related to satisfaction were different of those related to marital dissatisfaction, with the exception of supporting, protecting and caring about the wife, and its opposite, not to support. These results suggest two dimensions, one composed by the satisfaction s factors and another one about dissatisfaction, and this hypothesis might be confirmed by others studies and methods. About the husband s habitual behaviors related to happiness and love feelings, being: affective, caring, going out with her and to gift or to prepare a party point out among others.The habitual behaviors that lead to sadness and angry feelings refer specially to: demonstrate negative attitudes and emotions, not talking with her, not speaking too much or anything, and husband s addictive behaviors as drinking, gambling or smoking. When the critical behaviors were compared with the habitual behaviors, similarities were found, but also important differences, so that in day-by-day they must help with the housekeeping, talking with her, and to demonstrate positive attitudes and emotions, while in critical and extreme situations it is important to support, protect and care about the well-being of the wife, being negative to offend, to hurt, ant to cheat. These results suggest that it isn t enough to act in a positive way but is also important not to show negative behaviors so the relationship is not harmed.

A entrevista reflexiva a partir do registro de observação : possibilidades na formação continuada de professores

One of the biggest challenges that the educational carrier faces is the fact that the institutional politics implemented by the formation agencies, do not propitiate means that assist, in fact, the demands in the teacher s formation to act close to all students. Nowadays, the models of continuous formation offered to the teachers, have not guaranteid an effective discussion about the theoretical aspects involved in the teaching and learning process, nor a significant change in the quality of these professional s pedagogic practice. Study and change work experiences, more than modernizing knowledge, illuminating doults, it propitiates an understanding of situations and it facilitates the effective construction of a to do pedagogic , an action that is learned in the day-to-day practice and that is constituted of reflections between the teacher and its pairs. The thematic involving the processes of practice appeared in my research horizon as an important phenomenon to be investigated. Associated to the importance of the theme, I saw the prospective chance to establish a link being pedagogic and psychological aspects of the phenomenon that are constituted as a field of knowledge construction between the Pedagogy and Development and Learning process Psychology. In this sense, this study had, as objective, to evaluate if the strategy of the Reflexive Interview, starting from the Registration of Observation ERROb, can contribute in a significant way to the process of transformation of the teacher s of initial series of the fundamental teaching pedagogic practice, tends as theoretical reference of analysis, the discussion and Bioecoligical s Theory of the Human Development, developed by Urie Bronfenbrenner. In the study, participated three teachers of the first grade, of a school of the municipal public net. Along one year and a half, periodic visits were accomplished for the accomplishment of ERROb(s) and the observations in field. The interviews were audiorecorded and, later on transcribed, creating texts that will be constituted in the main source of data and the analysis had been accomplished inside of Grounded Theory parameters. In, relation to the conclusions the present study facilitated us to affirm that, ERROb is constituted as an important strategy of investigation and psycoeducational intervention, that could contribute in a significant way to the process of teacher s continuous formation especially for those of the initial series of the Fundamental Teaching. The analysis showed us that, as they modify the think and acting in classroom in function of the participation in ERROb(s), the teachers tried the occurrence of transformations that they verified in relationship to the interaction that they had with its students, with the schools professionals and with the student s parents; the construction of the affective tie established among those members and in relation with the organization of with activities in class room. In this way, we can affirm that, the Reflexive Interview starting from the Registration of Observation is really constituted of an efficient strategy of investigation and psycoeducational intervention on the process of teacher s continuous formation, and could be a significant usefulness for the educator in its supervision work and orientation of the pedagogic practice.

Modos de subjetivação contemporâneos: Considerações psicanalíticas sobre desejo, alteridade e pulsão

This research agrees to Freud s concept: to insert man in the social order around him and to analyze human relations, intra e inter subjetively established. It is a theoretical research using the psychoanalytical method, in which some notes are drawn from conflict points. This study starts from a brief historical context and it tries to trace the subjetive behavior that arises along human biographic story. This work attempts to do a deep analysis about alter relations that are established between human beings and the way they affect the desired moments. Our contemporary days have aticipated the action as a way to flee from sadness, part of human loneliness, creating many psychic configurations in relation to our present time. Actually, modern times demonstrate new configurations to showing pain, as well as, ways of facing it. In order to a better understanding of the processing attitudes among men and inside oneself, this work has the main objetive to think about a different meta psychological articulation to help us to understand the relation of contemporary arrangements created to deal with the feeling of abandonment and its results within the desired condition. Analyzing the relations among men and its limits, it is necessary to rethink about existing ideas such as pulsing and their vicissitudes, desire, id, ego, and super-ego, pleasure and other ones and to create different ideas from a free mind, open to new thinking. It does not mean to forget old theoretical ideas but to search new ways of subjetive thinking that coexist with the ones already known.

Impacto dos valores organizacionais e da satisfação no trabalho na intenção de rotatividade

The main goal of this study has been to investigate the prediction relationships between organizational values, satisfaction at work and turnover intention. Additionally, the predictive power of the organizational values on the satisfaction at work has been investigated, having identified: the hierarchy of the organizational values, the workers satisfaction and dissatisfaction levels and their intention of leaving the organization. The study has been developed with 171 employees of two organizations from the food sector of Uberlândia, MG, who answered to the Organizational Values Profile Inventory, to the scales of Satisfaction at Work and Intention of Turnover and a questionnaire of social-demographic data. The answers have been codified in a spreadsheet of the program SPSS and submitted to descriptive statistics, test t of Student, to default variance analyses and multiple regression. The ANOVA results have revealed significant difference between the groups of values from both two organizations. The t of Student results have revealed different organizational values hierarchies for each organization. The results from the regression analyses have indicated that, for organization A, the model explained 42% of the total variance of the turnover intention (F=3,18, p<0,001), being the value Concern with collectivity (Beta = -0,51, t = -2.46, p <0,05) and Dissatisfaction with the work overload (Beta = -0,30, t = -2,23, p <0,05) the significant and inverse predictors responsible for this explanation. For organization B, the model predicted 38% of the variance of the turnover intention (F=3,49, p <0,001); the accomplishment value has been the only significant and inverse predictor responsible for this explanation (Beta = -0,42, t = -2,35, p <0,05). Some organizational values predicted significantly some satisfaction and dissatisfaction factors. In organization A, values predicted significantly 20% of the satisfaction with support, but no value separately have been a significant predictor; values predicted significantly 25% of the total variance of the dissatisfaction with the leadership inadequacy and with the lack of opportunities. Conformity (Beta = 0,41, t = 2,46, p <0,05) and Domain have been the significant predictors (Beta = -0,51, t = -3,15, p <0,01); the values also predicted 28% of the variance of the dissatisfaction with the work overload (F=3,23, p <0,01), being Conformity the only responsible predictor for this explanation (Beta = -0,51, t = -2,08, p <0,05). In the organization B, values have been responsible for the explanation of 18% of the total explained variance of the satisfaction with the affectionate relationship (F = 2,29, p <0,05), but none of them separately has been responsible for this explanation. Values have predicted 16% of the satisfaction with the 14 professional recognition (F = 2,11, p <0,05) and only Concern with the collectivity has been a significant predictor (Beta = 0,40, t = 2,40, p <0,05); They have also predicted 18% of the total variance of dissatisfaction with the leadership inadequacy and with the lack of opportunities (F = 2,38, p <0,05) and Concern with the collectivity has been the only responsible predictor for this (Beta = -0,39, t = -2,41, p <0,05). The results have been discussed to the light of literature studies of the field and the conclusions have indicated the accomplishment of the main objective of this study, and have also pointed the need of other studies that might increase knowledge to the understanding of the relationship between the variables focused in this study.

Psicanálise e literatura : o corpo humilhado em Lima Barreto

This study investigates and elaborates considerations on the humiliated body in the life and work of Brazilian writer Lima Barreto. To accomplish this, a dialog is undertaken between Psychoanalysis and Literature, resorting to, among others, the theories formulated by Birman, Freud and Lacan. The privileged forms of subjectivization in modern times, such as narcissism, masochism and voluntary servitude, are discussed as means of protection against abandonment, which is triggered in the subject by the humiliation inflicted to the father figure in the Western world, as well as the emergence of modernism, that challenges the concepts of self and consciousness, emphasizing the unconscious and the Psychoanalysis as important ideas in modern days. This research also deals with, in the same context of modernity, the process of subjectivization of Lima Barreto, the mechanisms of defense adopted by him to confront the abandonment and the humiliations he suffered, specially the ones due to his skin color and social class. Through biographical reconstruction and reading, analysis and interpretation of this writer s works, an effort was made to identify the means he used to confront the reality, notably the function of literary writing. It is possible to conclude that the attempts of Lima Barreto to rebuild his singularity and battle the traumas of his own existence through the process of literary creation turned out fruitless, in face of the voluntary submission to servitude: to the period s culture, to the bureaucratic work, to the Government and to the deadly enjoyment provided by binge drinking. The writer was not able to organize and find meaning to the chaos of his existence, being swallowed by the void and the impetus of death that followed him since his childhood. This didn t allow him to properly process losses, mourning, abandonment, the tragic legacy of his own personal history and the social and historical context in which he lived.

Campo-relação na clínica do conjugal: reflexões psicanalíticas sobre a cultura hoje

This study proposes a reflexive work on conjugality, through the investigation of matrimonial relationships beyond the model of reproductive heterosexual alliance that has been orientating the existence of sexuality and intimacy in modern times. It evaluates the perspective of durability of the unions in the romantic project compared to the transiency of the current unions, orientated by a conception logic: consume production. It puts in subject which is the condition of sustainability of a matrimonial relationship nowadays, and its implication to love. It aims to investigate the conjugality field, considering its differentiation condition and the creation of new meanings in the way of conjugating and constituting reality. It discusses forms of alterity and articulation among theoretical perspectives in the couple's clinic, having as central point the psychoanalytic method of field rupture sustained by theoretical articulations of Campos' Theory with intention of knowledge production. It develops a thinking of the culture clinic, starting from three ruptures that happened in the social-historical field that influenced the present conjugality conception: the marriage, the feminine and the link logic determined by globalization and hypermodernity. It presents as analyzers the notion of field and paradox, having as hypothesis the transforming capacity of conjugality in the hard game between the one and the multiple that the social project of the present times institutes us. Through a clinical eye of the matrimonial psyche, some singularities of each relationship have been revealed and, using a set of learned common senses, an analysis of the culture in the clinic have been delimited. It has been found that the matrimonial project, or its representation in a crisis condition, erects a multiplicity of senses that, paradoxically, standardizes the relationships and also makes possible the rising of another sensibility in this field, in other words, it makes a paradoxical critic of these. Nowadays, there is the conjugality as a project of the subjects, as an defined indefinition. Such possibilities are already in place, because the alterity in the condition of present fragility, still persists and insists. As it is known: it is in the moment of crisis that one is destined to the new and the unexpected.

Percepções de suportes organizacional e social no trabalho como antecedentes da percepção de saúde da organização

The concept of organizational health had its origin in the organizational effectiveness definition, which was originated in the Fifties. Conceived as an expanded effectiveness , the concept of organizational health, recent in literature, is still in need of studies, which allow its definite implantation in the scope of organizational behavior, and mainly, studies that clarify its nature, antecedents and consequences. In the attempt of fulfilling part of this agenda, this study had as objective testing an explanatory model, which foresaw the perceptions of organizational and social support in the work, as being the antecedent to the perception of organizational health. The participants of this study were in its total 160 workers of several companies from the Triângulo Mineiro: 59,1% of participants from feminine gender and 40,9% from masculine gender, both with an average age of 28,9 years old and postgraduation as the most frequent degree of education. The instrument of data collection was composed by a questionnaire containing the three scales that were used to measure the perceptions of two factors of organizational health, three factors of social support in the work and the perception of organizational support. To achieve the proposed objective multivariate analyses have been carried through. The results of this study reveal that the main variable for both the factors of organizational health perception was the perception of organizational support. The impact of the perception of social support in the work was smaller than compared to that one. Implications of this study, as academic as applied, have been discussed and an investigation agenda was suggested.

Valores e práticas organizacionais: o teste de um modelo explicativo para a percepção de saúde organizacional

The concept of organizational culture, despite it has a relevance in the studies on the organizational behavior, being the culture a key concept for the explanation of some phenomena, suffers from the lack of consensus and maturity in what it says respect to its agreement and the differentiation of other concepts and its elements. In what it says respect to the organizational health, also exists a great profusion of concepts correlates, being however this variable still little studied and deserving of bigger attention and efforts of research, aiming at to establish its concept and to know its relations and impacts. The existing studies contemplate conceptual questions and theoretical models, being the literature of organizational health marked by the absence of empirical research. Ahead of this, the present study it has as objective to know the impact of the perception of the organizational culture ─ formed by practices and values ─ on the perception of the organizational health ─ constituted by the integration of teams and people and by the adaptability and flexibility to the external demands. The study it counted on a sample consisting of 245 workers of public companies and private of the regions of the Triângulo Mineiro and Mogiana Paulista. To verify the relationship between the variables and to test the model culture and health proposed, analyses of multiple regression stepwise had been carried through. The results prove the proposed model and point the organizational values as better predictors of the perception of Organizational Health that the organizational practices. The healthy organization, in accordance with the results of the study, is perceived as that one that possess in its values the satisfaction and well-being of its employees and the cooperative professionalism, and practices that promote the relationship interpersonal.

Impactos da percepção de saúde organizacional no bem-estar no trabalho

Investigating what makes for a person s wellbeing in the work place has been the topic of many studies and professionals. This is due to the fact that the organizational climate has changed dramatically over the past decades and a professional s understanding of what to expect from the organization has also changed. Today besides receiving compensation for the work done, an individual also expects to feel recognized and satisfied, as well as he or she expects to find personal and professional growth. Due to this, it is essential for the organization to understand how its health impacts on the bonds its employee will develop in relation to the organization and his or her job. The present study aims at testing a model which considered the Organizational Health Perception as an antecedent to the Wellbeing at work. In order for that, we have considered the concept of wellbeing at work as proposed by Siqueira and Padovam (2004) and the variable Perception of Organizational Health (Gomide Jr. and Fernandes, 2007). The sample comprises of 160 employees from different companies and segments. In order to test the model, we conducted two Stepwise multiple regression analysis. The proposed model was confirmed. The results were discussed and an agenda for future investigations was proposed.

Bases atencionais do raciocínio emocional infantil em contextos sociais

Studies about emotional reasoning and parent-based reasoning had found that the emotional reply to fear in children evaluated through experimental task of script danger assessment happens as in relation to danger information, as safety information contained in them. Nevertheless, the attentional bias (psychopatological process which implies in selection of distorted information) has been investigated apart from emotional reasoning. Therefore, the aim of this work is to rate emotional reasoning in social contexts mediated by the parents or by peers at the same age and to correlate this task-based performance with the level of social skills measured through Multimedia System of Social Skills and also with the performance in the stroop selective attention task from those children. For this purpose children, from 8 to 12, were rated from one private school from Uberlândia (N=59) to test the hypothesis that emotional reasoning in childhood is a natural phenomenon of emotional and cognitive development. To analyse the data, parametric variance tests and correlations of the evaluated measures were used. The results had shown the occurrence of the emotional reasoning and parent-based emotional reasoning, Considering that the sample not only trusted in the dangerous information contained in scripts, but took the anxiety reply to figure the situation as dangerous or not. In this way, in the types of answers analysis (positive or anxiety ones) it was observed that the tales with anxiety reply information (M= 1,8) had been evaluated as more dangerous than the tales with positive reply information (M= 0,97) with F [(1,482) = 25.571, P <0.0001]. The Stroop task got an effect on the types of stimulation shown F [(2,98) = 161,894, P < 0.0001], however, this effect is not caused due to an attentional bias, but to a difference between neutral and emotional stimulations (18,22seg. e 17,59 respectively,) in relation to the controlled condition (13,49 second). Also the series effect was significant [F (8,98) =5,498, p < 0.001], considering that the second series spent significantly more time, in every condition, among all the series. In the Social Skills test, the girls had shown greater level of social skills compared to the boys and the variable social skill was correlated with many evaluated experimental conditions in the study. Similar to other studies this one also confirmed the occurrence of emotional reasoning and the parent-based emotional reasoning as a normal childhood phenomenon, it had shown that in its support, the interpretation bias and not the atencional bias can be found.

O atleta de alto nível e o Escudo de Aquiles: analisando a ressonância da subjetividade contemporânea no herói dos campos e das quadras

This research aims at discussing some considerations about contemporary´s subjectivity and it´s link with the identity building in the high performance athlete. Seven interviews were realized, six of them with athletes still on the peak of their careers: 3 soccer players, 3 baskett players; and 1 former soccer player, who played in the Brazilian Soccer Team at the 70´s. The analysis of these interviews helped to make an appreciation on the building of the athlete´s identity in our days, as well as their relationship with their family, the cheerers, sports midia and co-workers. The method applied was a critical review of the psychoanalytical method, called The Multiple Field Theory . This method was applied in both the interviews and their analysis. We can conclude that the fragmentation of the images which figures in the sporting universe, becomes the very essence of the sportsman´s identity, which, due to their lack of time to establish grounded relationships wether are familiar or social ones, find in the imagetic structure its major recognizable seal. That way, it´s formed an almost perfectly conjunction of the two sides of their representational shield. Another point of discussion is the professional sports leading the athlete to a machine-body vision, sometimes making him oscillate between the archetypical role of heroe, and the one of a man with a single and limited vision.

Percepção de cultura organizacional em filiais de empresas multinacionais: um estudo comparativo

The companie s organizational culture have been studied by many areas such as: Antropology, Sociology and Psychology. The importance of this subject has increased from the eighties and many researches were developed in order to help its understanding and construction of consistant theorical-empirical method. Companie s organizational culture is a system of values and practices shared by the members of a organization and different between them. The theorical references are based in studies of Geert Hofstede, who has studied the employees of IBM s branches in 53 countries and also the GLOBE Project (Global Leadership and Organizational Behavior Effectiveness), managed by Robert House and great team of researchers that studied about leadership s characteristics and organizational culture in 62 countries. This main purpose of this research was to identify the existence of differences in the organizational culture perception among the employees of three multinational companies of the industrial sector established in the Triangulo Mineiro area. These companies original headquarter are Israel, North America-USA and France and the studied sample contemplate the total of 89 workers of different areas in the company. The instruments and tools used to collect the data base were: a personal and professional data base questionnaire, plus a company questionnaire and a Inventory of Organizational Culture Factors (IMEFACO), with 59 items to check 4 factors; Indicator for the Hierarquical Distance (IDH), the level of Individual/Team work (IND), Orientation for the Future (OFUT) and Orientation for Achievement (OREA), validated in Brazil by Dela Coleta & Dela Coleta. The descriptives analysis (frequencies, comparisons between averages and correlations) showed the existence of significant differences in the employees perception related to training opportunities, career development opportunities, salary opportunity and company s working facilities. In fact the multinational north American company was the one who had the best results in the items mentioned above. Regarding the organizational culture factors the results indicated significant different averages in the 4 factors: in IDH the multinational French company presented the lowest average, demonstrating a great difference compared to the results shown in the Hosfstede studies and GLOBE Project. The Israeli company presented low indicators for IDH and this result matched the Hofstede studies and GLOBE Project and from this we reach to a average indicator in this study. The American multinational company was the one that presented the best results in IDH. In IND the Israeli company presented the highest averages, the French company presented the lowest average. In OFUT and OREA the French company presented the highest averages, and compared to the French company, the north American and Israeli companies presented lower averages. These results are quite different from the ones presented by Hofstede studies and GLOBE Project.

Saúde organizacional, ética e confiança : o teste de um modelo preditivo a partir da percepção dos empregados

The interest in studies about organizational health started around the 1950s as a way to answer criticism about the organizational effectiveness construct; the purpose was to integrate attributes regarding the nature of the organizational system. The researchers who had proposed several theoretical models were not, however, concerned with testing them empirically. Therefore, the aim of this study was to test one model which examined the impact not only of the perception of ethical and organizational behaviours but also of the employees trust in the organization in relation to their perception of organizational health. In order to do so, 150 employees of companies in the Brazilian region of Triângulo Mineiro answered a questionnaire containing valid and consistent measures of the constructs. The data underwent descriptive and stepwise multiple regression analysis. For the first organizational health perception factor, entitled people and team integration , the following predictors were identified: system management , ethical standards , norms related to employees dismissal , and financial organizational recognition which, as a whole, explained 50% of the criteria-variable variance. For the second factor, called external demand adaptability and flexibility , the predictors found were: system management , promoting employees growth , and financial organizational recognition ; being them responsible altogether for 46% of the explanation of the criteria-variable variance. These results were discussed in conformity with the theory regarding the constructs. The limitations of this study were also pointed out, as well as the proposal of a research agenda.
