In this work, a comparative study is presented of the oxidation of secondary alcohols to form ketones by different routes: (I) potassium permanganate adsorbed on copper sulfate as a solid support without solvent, (Ia) using microwave irradiation, or (Ib) using conventional heating; (II) potassium permanganate adsorbed on montmorillonite, K-10 at room temperature. The alcohols used in this study have structures based on alkyl chains (1a), cyclopentyl rings (1d), cyclohexyl rings with different substituents (1c, 1e, 1f, 1h), allylic alcohol (1f), benzylic alcohols (1g and 1i) and a hydroxyketone (1b). This structural diverse collection of alcohols was used to valid the oxidative protocols as a general method of oxidation. Since the principal line of research in our group is the formation of heterocyclic systems, we used benzil 2b, obtained from the oxidation of alcohol 1b, for the cyclization reaction with the 1,4 N- dinucleophiles such as semicarbazide hydrochloride and thiosemicarbazide to give the heterocycles 5,6-diphenyl-2,3-dihydro-1,2,4-triazin-3-one 4 and 5,6-diphenyl-2,3-dihydro- 1,2,4-triazin-3-thione 6, respectively. Different methodologies, reactions with microwave irradiation or in refluxing ethanol were also evaluated. The investigation of possible biological activity of the heterocyclic compounds 4 and 6 obtained was carried out using Bioautography method with different microorganisms.

The aim of present study was to determine the influence of oral-motor sensory stimulation in preterm infants (PTI) in the establishment of breastfeeding through the implementation of a protocol for observation of suckling proposed by UNICEF. The sample consisted of 22 double mother/preterm infant, which were randomized in the stimulated group (GE) and control group (CG). The stimulated group received oral- motor sensory stimulation as proposed by Fucile, Gisel and Lau (2002), twice daily which was started when the preterm reached 80 cal / kg / day of enteral nutrition and maintained until it was receiving all feeds orally, by at least 24 hours. At the time of medical prescription of the transition from orogastric tube to oral feeding, the breastfeeding was evaluated for implementation of the protocol proposed by UNICEF. The chi-square test was used to compare the differences between the groups and accepted a significance level of p<0.05. The results showsthat the program used for stimulation no improvement in the suction of the newborn preterm infants studied, according to the protocol for observation of UNICEF. With regard to unfavorable behavior, the stimulated babies showed a trend to present fewer behaviors indicative of problems related to responses of double suggesting a beneficial effect of stimulation in preterm babies. Due to methodological limitations of this research, it is suggested to conduct further studies of eliminating confusion biases found here and use the protocol, but modified for use in newborn pre-term.

This research was developed in the Course of Master's degree in Education, of Santa Maria's Federal University / UFSM, in Pesquisa Formation's Line, Know and Professional Development. Our objective was to verify which they are the teachers' of Philosophy of the state net of medium teaching of Santa Maria's city formative needs, starting from the analysis of the questionnaires sent to the teachers. The specific objectives were: 1 - to identify which the modalities of continuous formation are offered to the teachers of Philosophy of the state net of medium teaching of Santa Maria's city; 2 - to verify the teachers' of Philosophy of the state net of medium teaching of Santa Maria's city formative needs is assisting to the teachers' needs for the courses of continuous formation, offered by the schools of performance; 3 - to understand as the teachers of Philosophy is facing the changes of the medium teaching and of the discipline Philosophy in the state net of medium teaching of Santa Maria's city - 8th HAVE FAITH (Regional Coordenadoria of Education). The approach is qualitative and the used instruments werw a form and a questionnaire. To present research it presents a reading of the the teachers' of Philosophy formative needs in the state net of medium teaching of Santa Maria's city, starting from the teachers' description. Our reading, in certain sense, "the certain distance" was accomplished, because we just analyzed the teachers' considerations starting from the questionnaires for them answered. At the end, we approached some subjects of the teaching of the Philosophy and his/her reality in Santa Maria's city, starting from the descriptions done by the teachers in the questionnaire. We noticed that many are the presented subjects: in relation to the teaching of the Philosophy, a teaching prevails returned for the philosophical reflection. In relation to the conditions of the educational work, they come, in general, scarce resources, low wages, interdisciplinaridade lack, teachers and unfounded students. To conclude, we present some final considerações that we think to be opportune on the education of the Philosophy and the professors of the related one discipline.
