The purpose of the present articleis to analyze the utilization of the nationalityprinciple as a connecting factor for conflictof laws regarding the personal statute ofthe individuals in Brazilian legislation. Theproposed problem consists on verifyingwhether the theory of the Italian jurist PasqualeStanislao Mancini had influenced the legislativechoice to favor the prevalence of the criterionof nationality as a connecting factor untilthe advent of the 1942 Law of Introductionto the Civil Code, which began to favor thedomicile criterion. The hypothesis is that thelegislation and part of the Brazilian doctrinewere influenced by the thinking of the Italianjurist, but also by the French doctrine on thematter. From a methodological point of view,the research uses as foundation Paolo Grossi’sHistory of Legal Thinking.

This paper draws on a research focused on Brazilian literary life in the first half of the 20th century. Taking up the idea that Brazilian culture and Brazilian literature must be approached as a language in itself, it aims to contribute to throw light upon the crucial decades in which Europe’s  influence as trendsetter begins to fade. A survey of letters sent from abroad by Brazilian writers to their colleagues in that period will show how displacement influenced their views on literature and life and the depth of their dependence on keeping up dialogue with  home-staying literary friends. Most of Brazilian authors living in foreign countries in the 40s and 50s of last century displayed in their letters the need to remain in touch with their national literature, whereas searching to establish contact with writers from the countries they were residing in was seldom a priority.

The paper will address transitional justice in Brazil, considering the objectives advocated by its general theory. The main idea is to make a legal analysis of the transition process in Brazil based on the relationship between Brazilian constitutional law and the Inter-American HumanRights System. It will be suggested to reflect on the ways of the dialogue between the two systems of protection of human rights (Inter-American and constitutional) proposed by some contemporary theories. As a conclusion, some reflections on how this situation contributes to the current Brazilian political crisis, especially for a certain popularization of authoritarianism as a political solution.

In avant-garde literature, the commonplace “all works engender many readings” is twice at risk: the risk of imploding, overwhelmed by texts that do not allow any reading (or that are not supposed to do it), due to their formal hermeticism; or the risk of exploding, owing to the centrifugal pressure of works that do not remain the same even in material terms. We speak here of these ever-shifting works, as aporias of literary readings in the 21st century, where structural innovations in texts go hand in hand with technical innovations that permit material changes in texts. In the case of cyberliterature, this utterance is even more relevant, since computer resources, increasingly sophisticated, claim for an unthought-of poetic, multiple in figurations and readings, due to the ever-shifting condition of its substance. In this article, we analyze Amor de Clarice, by the Portuguese poet Rui Torres. By means of varied digital technoaesthetic resources, this work potencializes the adage “all works engender many readings”, as it re-reads the short story “Amor”, by Clarice Lispector, through a computational discursive materiality that dissolves and changes after every click on the mouse. Thereby, this dictum overcomes academia commonsenses and, through algorithmic means, recaptures a potential that lies only in art as an aesthetical estrangement – the proposal of any re-reading after all.

Open Access Institutional Repositories (IR) emerged in order to provide greater visibility and preservation of scientific production of universities and research institutions. One of the challenges of the IRs is operating its settlement, whose most frequent strategy is the storehouse of scientific literature conducted in a mediated way, mostly by libraries, or by the author (researcher). The decision on the deposit of scientific literature by the researcher is influenced by different laterality, which actors of the scholarly communication system (researchers, libraries, scientific publishers, managers of institutions and funding agencies). It is considered therefore that the establishment of filing strategies of scientific literature in IRs must take into account the perceptions that different actors in the scholarly communication system has on this issue. In this context, the reported investigation aimed to propose guidelines for the deposit of scientific literature in IRs based on the perception of the different actors participating in the scholarly communication system. From a methodological point of view, this is a study of qualitative approach and descriptive purpose. The research universe consisted of actors in the scholarly communication system. The sample was non-probabilistic intentional, based on criteria specific to each group of actors. The method used was survey. Data were collected through semi structured interviews, guided by specific scripts for each group of actors and then subjected to textual analysis. Among the results of the investigation, it was possible to identify aspects that stimulate and inhibit the deposit of scientific production in institutional repositories from which key elements were extracted and derived thirteen guidelines, based entirely on the perceptions of the actors.

This article sets off from both the concepts of narrative theory and enframing – the latter developed within the realm of literature regarding social movements. In so doing, the purpose is to explore the many manners whereby translators and interpreters might emphasise, mitigate, and modify what one could consider divisive features present in the narrative(s) produced within the original text and/or utterance. At first, we provide an overview unfolding the axioms and advantages of applying, within the context of activist discourses, a narrative approach – in opposition to translation theories – as well as the notion of enframing. Followingly, our investigation is directed towards the specific spots and places of a text per se, or of any other related resources, wherein (re)framing could be effected; diverse examples of framing strategies deployed in both written and video translation are thus exposed. Such examples surface from translations of the English and Arabic pair, within the context of Middle East conflicts and the so-called War on Terror. It should be stressed nonetheless that the theoretical approaches herein described do not belong specifically to a certain language or context.

Science goes through constant refutations. Generally, these refutations eventually cause science to evolve. It happens that there is no evolution without overcoming what Bachelard called “epistemological obstacles”. When the Judiciary modifies its jurisprudence there is a breakdown of paradigms. Therefore, Law evolves. The following article is about the need to constantly overcome the predicted epistemological obstacles, correlating with the change in the jurisprudence. Therefore, Thomas Kuhn’s work was also studied. The methodology used is bibliographical and analytical.

This article approaches the Latin-Americanist policy exerted by Mexico since the Revolution of 1910, highlighting its connections with the promotion of such a continental identity in the Brazilian intellectual scenario. It is pointed out that Brazil’s inclusion in the Mexican continental strategy was a crucial component towards the awakening of a Latin-Americanist sensibility among part of the Brazilian intellectuals in the 1920s.

Encontros Bibli cresce e se diversifica. A partir deste número criamos uma nova seção intitulada "Contribuições de estudantes" com o objetivo de estimular a produção dos alunos. Neste número apresentamos a contribuição de um grupo de estudantes da disciplina Informação Aplicada à Biblioteconomia da primeira fase do Curso de Biblioteconomia. Este grupo fez uma reflexão sobre a sociedade da informação. Aguardamos novas contribuições para os próximos números. As mudanças que estão ocorrendo atualmente, impulsionadas pelo avanço vertiginoso das tecnologias, afetam todas as profissões e de forma especial as profissões da informação. Porto Dos Cantadores: A Construção da Colônia ao Ritmo e ao Som das Bandinhas

Há razões para acreditar que as teorias científicas mais bem-sucedidas representam a realidade? Aliás, em que consiste uma teoria científica? Os resultados e os relatos fornecidos pelas ciências acerca do mundo legitimam a crença na existência de leis da natureza? Caso admitamos o discurso sobre as leis, que tipo de ontologia devemos adotar a fim de explicar a necessidade envolvida nas leis científicas? Essas perguntas resumem algumas das principais questões discutidas em filosofia e metafísica da ciência ao longo das últimas décadas. Elas resumem, também, os temas tratados pelo Professor Michel Ghins (2013) no livro Uma introdução à metafísica da natureza.

This study aims to analyze how the interlocution between contextualization and experimental activities has been established in the Chemistry education in elementary school, in order to contribute to the Chemistry teaching practices. As object of this study, articles were taken from the Revista Química Nova na Escola (QNESc) as of 2006, year of publication of the National Curricular Guidelines for Secondary School. The Discursive Textual Analysis (ATD) was used to analyze the data, which pointed out different understandings of the Chemistry teaching community about the articulation between contextualization and experimentation.
