The unity of capital financialization and self-reproduction: Marxian assumptions and modern elements

This study analyzes the unity observed between the process of expanded self-reproduction of capital and the modern phenomenon of financialization. The first part of the article presents Marx’s foundations of the labor theory of value, as discussed in the three Volumes of Das Kapital. In this theory, Marx identified the process of capital valorization in its simple forms, the cycles of capitalist reproduction, and the first notions of the credit system. From these assumptions, this work identifies the main movements of the expansion of the financialization of capital in recent years, particularly with the development of the stock market, the promotion of the derivatives, the influence over dependent countries and, above all, the intensification of competition and exploitation of the labor force. This whole process strengthens the productive and reproductive processes of capital by accelerating its rotation and expanding its relations to all dimensions of social life.

Continued training for Physical Education teachers: knowledge production analysis

This study aims to understand the Continuing Education in the Physical Education area. For that, was carried out a bibliographical review through online Brazilian magazines in the area of Physical Education, classified by Qualis in Physical Education, referred to as A1, A2, B1 and B2. In these journals, we searched for all the articles that debated the theme of Continuing Education, through the keyword Continuing Education. We have understood, among others, that Continuing Education is an inseparable practice of the school, and that should give this support to the teacher, as well as the possibility of a dialogue between theory and practice

“Nothing is created…”: crossfit as a resignified body practice

The purpose of this paper is to carry out an analysis comparing Crossfit to body practices systematized before its appearance. We aimed at verifying if such practices had any connection to what Crossfit has become. We begin by introducing Crossfit, evidencing its main aspects, as well as exploring its origins. We dialogue with academic literature as well as information gathered from official sources of this modality. In conclusion, we notice that Crossfit arise as a way to institutionalize previous practices, derived especially from German Gymnastics and Calisthenics. In this way, the modality appropriates practices that are already known, resignify them and use them as a means to develop the “complete” athlete.

Analysis of the program "bolsa atleta" at the university of Brasilia from 2011 to 2015

In 2005, the Ministry of Sports created the Athlete Scholarship Program as a support for athletes to devote themselves to training and local competitions. After this initiative of the Federal Government, we identify similar actions in the university scope, especially in the federal Universities. In view of this diagnosis, this article intends to analyze preliminarily the University of Brasília Scholarship Program (PBA-UnB) from 2011 to 2015. Outlining the critical-dialectical theoretical-methodological approach, we adopted the procedures of documentary survey and bibliographic research. For the analysis of the collected data, we used aspects and indicators of the analytical model of social policies of Boschetti, (2009). The initial results demonstrate that PBA-UnB has restricted coverage and focused service, but with potential for expansion. It is observed that the program oscillates between the hegemony of the evaluation standards of the sport of income and the alignment with university politics and the democratic and inclusive role of the public university.

From the eclipse to the dawn of the for itself LGBT in the Brazilian educational policy

This article presents the national policy of Education as an object of study according to the human emancipation of the population of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transvestite, Transsexual and Transgender (LGBT). The central objective is to highlight the paths/dead ends to a national education policy focused on the human emancipation of this segment. A qualitative approach was used with descriptive, explanatory and exploratory research, leading to the decomposition of this research into three sections whose discussions surround the proposed objective. It was possible to verify that the process of dehumanization, rooted because of the logic of capital, nowadays reflects the non-nourishment of an emancipatory perspective in Brazilian education, since the pillars of such logic do not accept a transformation of objective and concrete reality.

The processes of politicization

The article discusses the processes of politicization of the social space as a major phenomenon in the making of politics in the West, which implied the emergence of different orders of specialized activities that have historically differentiated one from another and institutionalized. The analysis points out several ways in which other social spheres are requalified in political terms by certain actors in a process of transgression and mixing between fields or sectors of society. Since it appears as a transgression of the fundamental differentiation of these orders, or spaces of activities, and of the categories that allow them to be classified, politicization happens to provoke an intense work of legitimation, which requires the possible convergence of the objectives of actors who, nevertheless, incarnate differentiated roles.

Politicization in politicians conditions: some analytical problems and results of work

This paper examines some implications of the study of politicization, with an emphasis on the possibilities and limits of peripheral conditions. For this, the first part of the text presents some general elements related to the definitions proposed by Jacques Lagroye, especially emphasizing the theoretical bases and the underlying epistemological problems. The second part of the exposition uses results from investigations conducted in the last decades in different empirical universes in Brazil that directly or indirectly cover issues related to politicization or related issues. From these, problems arising from the difficulties caused by the lack of autonomy of the Social Sciences and, on the other hand, from the challenges related to socio-historical particularities are revealed. Since, in these contexts, “politics” is given greater weight in social structuring, as well as its principles of definition are diverse and multiple, besides there are multiple circuits, with distinct principles of selection, that circumscribe something that can be considered as of the “political” order.

“To Mr. Schneider”: when workers ask their boss to run for deputy (January 1902)

Based on proceedings from the social history of politics, the article discusses how competence in politics cannot be understood outside the situations in which it is requested. The analysis of letters written by workers at a major foundry in Creusot (France) to his master and deputy allows us to capture the intricacies of the patronage tie through the mediation of written proof, by the manifestation of personal fidelity, then political, to the lord of the foundry-deputy. The intertwining of personal, economic, and political is the rule for the most faithful or for those who imitate such fidelity. The play around this indifferentiation is one of the impulses of certain epistolary strategies.

Historical events, groups and mentors: on agents of politicization and multiple ways of entering politics in Argentina

This article analyzes the processes of politicization of the elites of the Interior Ministry in Argentina. Supported by in-depth interviews, archival material, journalistic records, and specific bibliography, the paper seeks to shed light on the centrality of historical events, militancy groups, and mentors in such paths. Firstly, we reflect on the role of political events understood as milestones of politicization, which then fuel a dispute over their interpretation and appropriation. Then we refer to the multiple character of the militancy groups and the theoretical and practical knowledge there harvested. Finally, we focus on the role played by mentors in facilitating experiences and contacts, fundamental rudiments for the political profession.

Political parties Foundations and Politicization Processes in Brazil: action domain, amalgams and ambivalences

It presents data on the creation and the creation chronology of party foundations, its organizational structure (websites, offices, sectors, tasks/roles divisions; requirements of various experts, products such as books, magazines, courses, incomes; etc.) from information available on the internet as well as the social, political and cultural profiles of its presidents and former presidents. This perspective demands pay greater attention to the description of the multiple forms of political domination and organization, and especially the rupture with the cleavages and antagonisms between societies based on Eurocentric presuppositions and ideologies.

The sacerdotal politicization as religious iconoclasm: the case of the Dominicans engaged in the Christian-Marxist movement

After May 68, some priests involved in politics put forward their priestly authority. They hope thus to contribute to engaging the Church in the class struggle and also restoring the prophetic radicalism of Christian faith. Their political mobilization has a religious reforming purpose. It is this form of politicization of sacerdotal competence that is here studied more particularly through the example of the Dominicans of the Province of France members of the Christian-Marxist movement (1974-1978).

Impure Catholicism: politicization and transgressions of religious boundaries

The article discusses the phenomenon of politicization of Catholic priests in Brazil. Based on elements borrowed from the political sociology, it discusses some analytical perspectives considered advantageous in the apprehension of forms of concrete existence of the Catholic institution, and of the ways of putting the religious authority into practice. The analysis of two religious itineraries, of different generations and with different types of insertion, tries to demonstrate some of the mechanisms at work in the processes of interpretation that professionals of the Church make about the truth of the institution, leading them to experience their religious engagement in terms that do not separate it from a political action.

Doctrinators, politicians and “administrative law” in Brazil

This space also correspond to different demands of legal legitimacy of the political regimes.
