Theoretical choice in scientific controversies: values and their judgments in the light of kuhnian conceptions
The study of scientific controversies is a complex theme because of its contextual peculiarities. Philosophers, sociologists, historians of science, and researchers in science have shown that their analysis can present diverse perspectives that encompass the appreciation of their genesis and progress as well as considerations about its and. In this sense, the present article discusses Kuhn’s conceptions of values in the theorical choice that can contribute to the understanding of the termination process warm debates in science. Moreover, in the case of a theoretical article approaches to McMullin's classification involving resolution, closure and abandonment of controversies in Science. Indeed, it introduces implications for the teaching of sciences aimed, above all, to break with the limited view that disputes are resolved through experiments.

Alternative agrifood networks and critical consumption: the case of organic markets in Porto Alegre
The last four decades coincide with the appearance of what has been called "alternative agri-food networks". Numerous scandals, widespread uncertainty and the search for healthier foods are highlighted in a broader movement called "turn of quality," where the idea of quality goes beyond the product's strict and tangible attributes. The organic fairs of Porto Alegre are part of the transformations that affect the world of food in general. The focus of the study is to elucidate the circumstances that contributed to its emergence, as well as the mutations that this local supply system has experienced since its inception. The research seeks to show that organic fairs consist of a unique social space where they operate much more than food buying and selling operations. Nonetheless, there are challenges in relation to the future, especially the developments arising from the increase in demand and the risk of conventionalization.

A reflective approach for teaching semi-automatic translation practice in translator training Programs
Translation memory systems have been promoting definitive changes in the development and contracting criteria of translations of texts in electronic format. With the purpose of examining the influence of the use of these tools in the production of translators in training, this paper presents a study proposing a reflective approach for the analysis of translations by students in academic training. For this purpose, eight participants attending the third year of an undergraduate program in Translation were invited to translate three contracts from English into Brazilian Portuguese with and without the assistance of Wordfast Classic (version 6.0). The results of the analysis of the students’ translations suggest that those who used the tool produced more uniform translations, with high similarity index between them, which may be indicative of the influence of the memory in the translation work. In view of the scarce research focused on the analysis of the way translators interact with the tools employed in their work and how they are affected by them, this study aims to contribute to a better understanding of the possible implications involved in the association between the translator and translation memory systems in the work of translation.

Record of Carineta Amyot and Audinet-Serville, 1843 (Hemiptera: Cicadidae: Cicadettinae: Carinetini) in Goiás State, Brazil
Cicadas (Hemiptera: Cicadidae) are insects characterized mainly by the sound they emit, which makes their presence evident in natural and urban areas. Beyond this, we know little about the species that occur in the neotropical region, including Brazil. This is the first report of species of Carineta in Goiás State, Brazil. The collections were made with light traps in two close localities in the core area of the Cerrado biome. We sampled the species Carineta durantoni Boulard, 1986, C. gemella Boulard, 1986, C. rufescens (Fabricius, 1803) and C. spoliata (Walker, 1858). Images of these species and their current distribution are presented here.

National Security and anticommunism in pre-64 Brazil: the ideology of Golbery do Couto e Silva.
This paper analyzes the configuration of anticommunist Brazilian thought during the period that preceded the military coup of 1964. It was selected, as research sources, the complete work of general Golbery do Couto e Silva, entitled “Geopolitics and Power”, as result of his protagonism among military intellectualism during the decades of 1950 and 1980. Utilizing the lukácsian’s method of ideology analysis, inserted in the historical-dialectical materialism perspective, the article is divided in two moments. First, we show the thematic nodules of golberyan’s ideology, classified from the author’s own conception. Next, we define the genesis and the social function of this thinker. Were sought to explicit the form that Brazilian logic of capitalism reproduction has conditioned, and limited, the development of the military ideologist.

Pupal parasitoids for the biological control of Diatraea saccharalis (Fabricius, 1794) (Lepidoptera: Crambidae)
Diatraea saccharalis (Fabricius, 1794) (Lepidoptera: Crambidae), popularly known as the sugarcane borer, is the greatest pest of sugarcane crops, and is responsible for considerable economic damages. This pest is difficult to manage, because it lives inside the culm when immature, creates galleries that weaken the plants, reduces the biomass and the quality of sugarcane juice, and lowers agricultural productivity. The excessive use of chemical insecticides leads to resistance in these pests and damages the environment, fauna, and flora, and these products are expensive. Thus, an indispensable component of pest management is biological control. All animal and plant species have natural enemies (parasitoids, predators, and entomopathogens) that affect different stages of development. Parasitoids represent an important tool in the biological control of lepidopteran pests. Knowledge of pupal parasitoid activity is important for the development of biological control strategies for this pest, which causes significant losses. Therefore, this paper uses published data to highlight the importance and effectiveness of parasitoids against sugarcane borer pupae.

Translating Boumkoeur, by Rachid Djaïdani, into brazilian portuguese: an overview of the main challanges
This article is based on a research project entitled “Boumkoeur, de Rachid Djaïdani: estudo e tradução para o português do Brasil” (2017) “Analyzing and translating Boumkoeur, by Rachid Djaïdani, into Brazilian Portuguese”]. For this project, conducted during a degree in Modern Languages at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF), I tried to offer an analysis and a translation of Djaïdani’s novel. The scope of this article is however considerably more limited insofar as I present a partial overview of the translation of three excerpts from Boumkoeur, which are representative of issues concerning the translation of cultural marks, specific social dialects and poetic texts. In this analytical and translational work I opted for the practice of an “ethics of difference” (VENUTI, 2002) that aims at reconciling the concepts of “foreignization” and “domestication” (VENUTI, 2008).

The Marie Curie historical case: studying the potential of history of science to support pre-service teachers’ reflections on nature of science
This paper aims at discussing the contributions of a historical case about Marie Curie for supporting pre-service teachers’ reflections about Nature of Science (NOS). The historical case was drawn in the light of Allchin’s (2013) ideas about contextualised and functional nature of science teaching. The activities based on the case were developed in a class of Chemistry pre-service teachers from a Brazilian public university. All the lessons related to the application of the activities were audio- and video-recorded. From the ideas expressed by the pre-service teachers throughout the process, we discuss the relevance of this teaching approach to guide discussions about NOS aiming at promoting a functional understanding about science.

Rethinking gender relations under the experience of ultimate frisbee activities in the school
This article addresses how gender relations were experienced, questioned and modified during the project "Ultimate Frisbee: the experiences and reflections of the tactics using media resources in physical education classes.” The discussion of gender came up during the classes for this sport is officially composed of a mixed gender category, in which boys and girls play together. Hence, some conflicts needed to be discussed and reconsidered. For this purpose, the fundamentals of Feminist and Gender Studies were applied in an attempt of understanding the problems that emerged with the implementation of these classes.

The populist temptation is still alive

Antimicrobial activity of the ethanolic extract of propolis against bacteria that cause mastitis in cattle
Propolis is a substance produced by bees, especially Apis mellifera, from resins of plant shoots. It possesses numerous biological properties, such as antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory. Activities such as organic dairy farming show high demand for natural products with proprieties like those of propolis, since milk contamination and mastitis are major problems of the dairy industry. The objective of this study was to evaluate in vitro the antimicrobial activity of different concentrations of an ethanolic extract of propolis (EEP). Action of the EEP extracted from beehives in southern Brazil was tested against 13 different genera of bacterial agents that cause mastitis in dairy cattle. The experiment was carried out in the Laboratory of Parasitology and Microbiology at the Federal University of Pampa, Campus Dom Pedrito - RS, Brazil, during May and June 2016. Agar diffusion and microdilution plate methodologies were followed. Based on the results of the minimum inhibitory concentration test (MIC), the EEP had inhibitory activity on 100% of the bacteria tested at concentrations above 10% (w/v). These results show that propolis has antimicrobial potential against bacteria involved in the process of mastitis.

Zoning of the most productive extraction area of Anomalocardia flexuosa (Linnaeus, 1767) (Mollusca: Bivalvia) in the world
Mangue Seco Beach, in Pernambuco State, is a region with a large number of ecosystems and is notable as a place where Anomalocardia flexuosa is collected. In this work, zoning for the beach is proposed based on to the most expressive characteristics of the region and densities of A. flexuosa. In the delineation of the region, the effects of the surrounding water and proximity to the beach line were considered first. Three main location strata were evaluated, border, interior coast and interior sea, as well as secondary strata with latitudinal and longitudinal divisions. In total, 176 samples were obtained during surveys carried out in 2015. For all surveys the mean densities were higher in the interior coastal sector. The areas located near estuaries seemed better for the species compared to regions with greater marine interference. In general, it was possible to differentiate four location strata according to the morphodynamic characteristics and densities of A. flexuosa. The first and most abundant stratum would be the interior coast, the second stratum would be the interior sea and the border stratum would be divided into two substrates, one further away from the beach line and another closer to the river mouth.

Electoral conversation in monitored democracies: a typology for analysis of comments in online social networks
The article discusses how the communicative abundance enhanced by online spaces affects the organization of contemporary conversations in monitory democracies. It is discussed how social monitors generate specific communication flows to institutions and political actors in online social networks. The behavior of the online conversation about the Brazilian elections in 2014 is analyzed from 610 thousand comments at Folha de S. Paulo, O Estado de S. Paulo and O Globo fan pages on Facebook. The research question is: do the commentators in the three newspapers’ fan pages have similar behaviors? Also, it is proposed a typology to classify the comments. Among the results obtained, the volume of noise in the digital electoral debate is higher than the thematic comments.

O mito de Adão e Eva revisitado: acerca do masculino e do feminino na cultura da nação
The western nacionalism around the turning of nineteenth to twentieth century, intersects gender and progeny reproduction, manifested through the population policies implemented by the nations in order to settle the countries ethnicities. on the man's side, the masculinity idea was basicto the nacionalism ideology taking wide investiments in the people virilization; on the other side, the woman would be in charge of the nation's ethinic line, generating children brought up a menbers of an ethinic group. The text discusses this question through the “spiritualizes” discourse of Plínio Salgado, leader of the brazilian integralism, movement that was founded on the belief that only the restoration of the Christian values would take the brazilian society out of its “state of decadence”.
