November twenty-fifth in the daycare center: a sensitive project against physical and symbolic gender violence on women and children

Why talk about gender violence in an environment like the day care center? Parents of children who attend the day care center are very important subjects with which to share educational concepts. This project is dedicated to women and men who attend the daycare center. It has the purpose to discuss this  phenomenon that must not be confined in silence. It is necessary to give a voice to those who have none, for helping everyone and, finally, see emotional changes. It is very important, to give occasions to baby's families for thinking about these themes. The first step should be done from the babyhood, just in the moment when gender stereotypes are built and find deep roots. This is the reason, why in the daycare center and then in the preschools, it is necessary to improve a culture based on the appreciation of differences. Starting from this belief, to mark the 25th of November, International Day against violence on women, San Donato and Viganò daycare centers, located in Bologna, promote, for years, awareness-raising initiatives.  Every single 25th of November all the families are invited to spend the whole day at the daycare center with the children. During the welcome's moment the organizers hand out information material on “Casa delle donne per non subire violenza” and they set up a space with themed poems. During that morning there is a performance, created by the educators, followed from a workshop moment which involves both children than parents. Every performance chosen is full of symbols and gives sensations related to content of the day, a day based on the strong sharing of thoughts and emotions.

Epistemic peer disagreement in the nature-nurture debate

Scientific disagreements constitute valuable resources for reflecting on epistemic peer disagreements. In this essay I engage in the debate whether epistemic peers who disagree should be conciliatory or steadfast by examining how scientists actually react in the so called nature-nurture debate. The main conclusion of the analysis is that, when taking into consideration concrete epistemic practices with peers responding to different epistemic perspectives, scientists have good reasons to be steadfast. At the same time, the theoretical conceptualizations of the epistemology of peer disagreement illuminates certain aspects of the nature-nurture debate, such as its long persistence. Therefore, this article contributes both to the debate over the epistemology of disagreement and to the understanding of a never-ending controversy in the life sciences.

Animal law and the unconstitutionality of the 96th amendment to the Brazilian Constitution

This review article uses the systematic interpretive method, and from a bibliographical and documentary research, analysis of the constitutionality of Constitutional Amendment No. 96 of July 6, 2017, which excepted the constitutional norm that prohibits the practice of activities that subject the animals to cruelty, whenever the activity is considered a cultural manifestation registered as intangible cultural heritage. The article demonstrates that constitutional amendments promulgated by the derived constituent power can not have the material limits of constitutional reform set forth in substantive clauses, including the stability of individual rights and guarantees (article 60, § 4, IV of the CF). The article also analyzes the arguments presented by the Declaratory Action of Unconstitutionality n. 227,175 / 2017, concluding that the said Amendment is unconstitutional, since the practice of cruel acts against animals constitutes a direct offense against the individual fundamental right to a healthy and balanced environment.

The students perception in relation to learning content attitudinal in school Physical Education classes: a case study

The present study aims to investigate the students' perception of the attitudinal contents learned in physical education classes. We adopted a qualitative and descriptive approach to the study. To accomplish our data collection, we used the technique of focus group with five students from a public school in the city of Vitória-ES. From the perspective of participating students in this study, the physical education classes provide, among other things, learning different aspects related to the attitudinal dimension (norms, values and attitudes), confirming our hypothesis that this area has a great potential to develop them.

Public hearings in the STF: the adoption of a cooperative model of judicial review

This paper to examine the thesis about the interpreters of the Constitution, the pluralization of the debate and the constitutional process. The starting point for such a study is due to the recent positions taken by the Supreme Court (STF) based on democratic participation in their decisions. The study presents each of the major themes of the interpreters of the Constitution, in order not to fossilize the law and/or not allowing that it be far away from the whole society. By logical consequence, it is mandatory to near law and society. This happens due to the occurence of such activity at the level of problematic interpretation issue, which permeates the concerning results

Teacher education in Physical Education and the learning with the school: the possibility of practice as a curricular component

According to the National Curricular Guidelines for initial teacher education at the higher level of 2015, undergraduates should integrate their theoretical and practical activities of deepening in specific areas (200h), training activities (2.200h), internship (400h) and the Practice as Curricular Component - PCC (400h). The objective was to verify the possibilities of the PCC to bring Physical Education students closer to the school scene and the possible learning resulting from this integration. We interviewed 41 undergraduate students in Physical Education and 18 professors of the same course, with a subsequent content analysis. The data indicate that the PCC was remembered as a strategy to intensify the approach of the future teachers with the Basic Education and to contribute to the learning of the professional knowledge. How much more diverse and comprehensive to be the training, more references about the profession will have the students, which may contribute to a professional performance that is consistent with the reality of public education.

Gender and Art Education: Challenges, Pitfalls, Resistances

This paper originates from a concern raised by the lack of academic research articulatinggender studies and art education. To rub and problematize the silence that surround this theme, we made three movements. We begin by contextualizing some impasses that have repeatedly removed the gender discussion of Art, as a school discipline; next, we analyze some papers – available in the annals of two important events in the area of art and education – that deal with the theme; in this analysis, we use the concepts of gender, power and resistance, seized from authors linked to poststructuralism, aiming to point out some of the challenges posed by these papers. In the last movement, we outline some feminist interventions, allowing such discussions to proliferate in the teaching of art.

Problematizing the Biological Discourse about the Body and Gender, and its Influence on the Teaching Practices of Biology

This essay has as a central thesis to recognize the need to problematize the biologicaldiscourse on gender and the body and its circulation in school contexts as a neutral and objective knowledge, based on the assumption of ideal body that locates the different, strange bodies, at the margin. Initially, the concepts of ideal body and bodies at the margin are discussed. Then, a series of arguments that justify the need to problematize this biological discourse is offered. Finally, possible paths and routes for this problematization are discussed, resorting to theoretical assumptions of decoloniality, providing some specific reflections for the teaching of biology. The essay discusses ideological and colonized meanings that permeate and base the biological discourse.

Corpo e corporalidade nas culturas contemporâneas: abordagens antropológicas

In his text we discuss the central position of the body in the contemporaries cultures, the contribution of anthropology and the critique of dualist conception of related body and nature. We discuss some anthopological approaches of the body: from the Mauss' category of techniques corporelles to Csorda' category of embodiment. In conclusion, the need to articule the discussion about body and corporality with a reflection about the category of the person and it's specific cultural forms.

The perceptions of teachers about use of modellus software in a modeling experience

This qualitative research aims to present the results obtained in relation to the use of a computational modeling with the Modellus software in a continuing education course for Basic Education teachers. The course involved twelve teachers with formation in Physics, Mathematics and Exact Sciences, and a part of the training was intended for the development of computational modeling activities involving kinematic situations, in particular Linear Motion (LM). The theoretical foundation is based on computational modeling under the light of a scientific teaching, in which it aims to approximate the way that science is done with the classroom. The results presented in this paper point out generally, that modeling can be a way of potentialize student learning. In summary, three relevant results have emerged. In the continuing education course, it was observed that the sharing of experiences of teachers who developed activities with technological resources in the classroom contributed with teachers who had not yet used them to feel more confident and safe, encouraged others to work in their classrooms activities with technological resources, as well as the development of joint work with their peers during the training. Two teachers developed the Modellus activities in their classrooms, and they pointed out motivation, visualization, multiple representations and approximations of physics with mathematics as the main differences compared to the traditional way they teach. Finally, it is worth mentioning the technical difficulties faced by teachers: lack of computers, difficulty to reserve the computer lab, old computers and slow internet.

The Leadership of the Developed Countries in the Paris Agreement: reflections on the Naming and Shaming strategy within the Global Stocktake

The Paris Agreement establishes an ascending architecture where commitments are nationally determined. This article aims to discuss possibilities in the Agreement for developing countries to cover the leading role of developed countries in its implementation. The research is based on the deductive method, a structuralist and materialist-historical approach to the analysis of legal texts. The naming and shaming tactic, through the global stocktake, undermines the possibility for developing countries to secure the leadership of developed countries by subjecting them to an intricate set of political relations established outside the Agreement and thereby weakening them.

Basketball teaching and the physical space issue: an experience report from a public school in the north

Basketball demands a better-structured physical space and this seems to be a limiting factor for its development in public schools. The aim of this study was to report the experience of introducing basketball to students of a public school in the suburb of Manaus that does not have a sports court. For that, a qualitative research was conducted from a participant observation. Four classes (theoretical and practical) of basketball were proposed to 36 elementary students 2. It is inferred that basketball can be developed with public school students even without proper physical space. It teacher’s responsibility to be the agent that provide access to school basketball with a dynamic pedagogical proposal, besides the need to question its standard, senses and its conditions of adaptation to the social and cultural reality of the school.

The process of making women full citizens in its family context: an ethical challenge to social service

The purpos e of this article is to give relevance to some categories that emerge in personal narratives of the women interviewed by the "Núcleo de Estudos da Criança, Adolescente e Familia" (Nucleus for the Study of the Child, Adolescent and Family) in the Social Assistance Department at UFSC. The qualitative research carried out in1994 and 1995, had as its universe those who were served by institutions, with training are as linked to the Nucleus and located in Greater Florianópolis. The daily life, the work and the solidarity networks in which these families are immersed, provide abundant material for analysis, which shows evidence of the woman/mother as the figure at the prow, regarding both the production and reproduction of the labor force, while in the affective sphere, she is the one who guarantees the maintaining of the family line. The process of making the woman/mother a full citizen constitutes an ethical/political challenge to Social Service.

A abordagem Pikler: educação infantil
