Interpreting the internationalization of brazilian scientific journals
It explores the process of academic internationalization of Brazilian scientific journals. Through a bibliographic review, it analyzes the scenario of the development of these publications in the last decades in Latin America, as well as the recent actions of the national agencies for the promotion of science, technology and innovation (STI) for their internationalization. It is concluded that, in the absence of a plan for the internationalization of Brazilian scientific journals, dialogue between the different actors is necessary to achieve an inclusive situation, where the principle of scientific information as a public good prevails, together with free access to scientific production for any citizen.

Brazilian Journal of Sport Sciences: the End of an editorial time
Considering the editorials published in the Brazilian Journal of Sport Sciences (RBCE), especially between 2013 and 2018, this paper analyses the last five years of the journal's management, revisiting some of the scientific policy of RBCE. From this perspective, the main is to reflect on the difficulties, challenges and dilemmas of scientific publishing in Physical Education, especially regarding to professionalization, internationalization, financing and partnership with Elsevier. It is a publisher of medical and scientific literature whose platforms offer integrated technology and content interactivity, what makes easier the work of disseminating scientific knowledge and publishing of journals. This facility does not exempt the editors the political dimension of their office and their ask to make clear the processes of governance that involve Physical Education, production and dissemination of knowledge and the intervention that comes from it.

Science journalism in brazilian Physical Education
The milestone in Physical Education journalism was in the 30s, along with the creation of the field itself. In almost 90 years of existence, more than 35 journals have been created, with different areas of focus. Since the first decade of the 21st Century, there has been an intensification of the scientific activity, as well as an appreciation of scientific journals, placing them among the main agents in PE. In order to discuss the subject, this text was divided into two parts: In the first part, based on the data available on the websites, I describe the characteristics of the 12 main journals of Brazilian Physical Education. In the second, I discuss some of the main dilemmas involving their scientific editing based on my editorial experience, as well as on a review of the existing publications on PE. In the conclusion, I indicate that that the journalism in the area of PE has become consolidated and internationalized since the first decade of the 21st Century and that it has been seeking editorial professionalization.
Publication as an obsession, pressure as an effect and integrity as a discourse/challenge: a critical-provocative analysis of the scientometrics in effect
In this text, in response to the kind invitation received from the editors, I dedicate myself to reflecting on: (1) the value placed on publications in academic-scientific journals; (2) some problems related to the adoption of quantitative indicators by the current scientometrics/bibliometrics to evaluate the 'quality' of science; (3) some of the practical limits of the normative discourse on research integrity, especially due to the pressure to publish context (“publish or perish”). For that, I resort to the arguments that I have been supporting over the last years, reinforcing and developing some points that I consider central to the present debate.
Bibliometrics studies applied to Physical Education: reliability, quality and relevance in publications
This article aimed to address essential points in bibliometrics studies applied to Physical Education and, thus, to solve the doubts frequently verified in the researches produced. The sections presented in the text refer to the main steps to operationalize a bibliometric study, such as: strategies for the use of sources, selection of bibliographic databases, use of Qualis and WebQualis, the choice of descriptors with the use of dictionaries of controlled terms and software suggestions to collect and organize collected data. It is expected to contribute to the development of future bibliometric studies in such a way that allows researchers to obtain more practical and accurate information from bibliographic databases and more reliable results
The evaluation of the Postgraduate Program in Physical Education and its implications for the journals: "publish or perish" also applies to the editors
Our intention is to reflect on how the Brazilian postgraduate evaluation model, especially the Qualis-CAPES system, impacts the periodical editorial process of area 21, and above all, those in the Physical Education field. The text in the form of a point of view deals with issues such as: productivity, financing, ethical conduct, devaluation of editorial work, among others. It considers, however, that publishing, with its vicissitudes, represents a noteworthy formative experience. The report is made from "the place" of the authors, who are part of the editorial committee of the Motrivivência magazine from LaboMidia / UFSC.

Rights and interdisciplinarity in the work field of social assistance
The article is the result of the discussions, in spaces of production of knowledge, on two researches that have in common the themes of interdisciplinarity, human rights and assistance. One was carried out with workers in the field of legal assistance and the other with social assistance users. Both used the intervention research as a methodological strategy. From the discussions between the two fields it was possible to see that interdisciplinary work is an important tool in the defense of rights in the social assistance area and that the suspension of disciplinary boundaries, openness to otherness, reflection on one's practices and education are fundamental in this process.

Training of university professors in stricto sensu post-graduation in Physical Education in Brazil: the researchers' perspective
The objective of this article was to investigate how the training of university teachers in the Brazilian graduate programs stricto sensu in Physical Education has been configured. We have resorted to the systematic review of literature to verify the scientific productions that deal with the subject. We searched the Lilacs, Scielo, Web of Science and Sport Information Resource Center (SportDiscus) databases. The final sample had four scientific papers. The descriptive analysis and the method of content analysis subsidized the treatment of the data. The study confirmed the incipience of researches in the area that analyze the formation of university professor. The publications highlight the positive effects of postgraduate teaching, as well as the weaknesses in the provision of this training. We found a polarization between research and teaching in the selected studies. By way of conclusion, we believe that the approximation of the two elements in this configuration can enrich this formative process.

Hearts of Darkness: the experience of horror in Roger Casement's writings - the fabrication of an anti-hero
The article presents an analysis of texts by a multitude of authors who deal with Roger Casement’s writings, aiming at assessing how those authors fabricate a discourse based on alleged acts in order to perpetuate a representation of Casement’s persona. Casement ends up being both a hero – up until his arrest and condemnation as a traitor to the British Empire – and an antihero – not only after his arrest but also and specially after his Black diaries were uncovered, bringing about Casement’s disappearance from the public’s view as an important humanist and character in British and Irish histories. The article also tackles the close relation between Casement and the main characters in Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness.
Industrial Policy and the Automotive Sector: A Comparison between the Policies Launched by Brazil and China in the 1990s
Significant transformations have occurred in the global automotive sector since the 1970s, greatly affecting the implementation of policies. In this work, we focus on the development and comparison of policies for the automotive sector in Brazil and China. In the Brazilian case, we highlight the policies developed between the governments of Fernando Collor and Fernando Henrique Cardoso, between 1990 and 2002, which focused on an internationalized sector, in a context with a great flow of foreign investment, and which had limited results in the promotion of companies that supply national capital. As for the Chinese case, we highlight the choice for joint ventures in 1979 and the policies of 1988 and 1994 and their consequences until 2001. Finally, we emphasize the dilemmas left for the next governments and policies and for the development of companies. When comparing both cases, we observed that in Brazil there were noncompliance with the policy goals and denationalization of the supplier sector, while China, learning from its mistakes and also in a context of strong flow of external capital, strengthened the development of the national suppliers, with repercussions, above all, on the expansion of production and technological development.

Teaching programs and textbooks as sources for studying the constitution of mathematics for teach
This text studies the theme of mathematics in the teacher training of the first school years. The subject is treated considering that, in the set of professional knowledge of the teacher of the first school years, has been elaborated a mathematical for teach articulated to a mathematics to teach. The mathematics for teach reveals itself as a professional knowledge, a mathematics for the exercise of teaching, a teacher's work tool for teaching mathematics. And, if this is so, by theoretical hypothesis, the mobilizing question of the article can be enunciated as: in the use of teaching programs and textbooks as sources of research, how to characterize mathematics for teach? The socio-historical studies that have been developed by ERHISE of the University of Geneva are considered as theoretical-methodological contributions. As results, significant points are scored for the development of research that aims to characterize the professional knowledge of the teacher who teaches mathematics.
The Witch´s Image: from Historical Antiquity to Contemporary Film Representations
This article aims at discussing the historical-social development of the witch’s image according to cultural, social and religious perspectives since the earlier stages of our Western civilization until the contemporary era. This historic overview will be discussed according to mythological influences referring to the construction of the female image as transgressor which originated the acclaimed Middle Age “witch hunt”. In order to do so, we will use works by Civita, (1997), Blécourt (2017), Clark (2006), Maxwell-Stuart (2017), Page (2017), Sharpe (2017) and Wallis (2017) apart from contemporary film versions from The Wizard of Oz (1939) through The Witch (2015), which depict the witch’s image transformation, so we can analyze, through its iconography, how such image was and is determined by the demands of several historical eras.

Subverting the ideal of womanhood: Mary Lavin's Sarah and female agency
Women’s living conditions in the Republic of Ireland, in the 1940s, were strongly conditioned by the Catholic beliefs, since the Church still held great influence at institutional levels and maintained close relations to leading politicians. The 1937 Constitution was the clearest proof of such relation, and tried to confine women’s role merely to the functions of wife and mother. The short story Sarah, written by Mary Lavin (1943), discloses the patriarchal standards and stifling social mores imposed on women at the time. Sarah, of the title, lives the struggle of being an unmarried mother in a conservative and merciless society. In this paper, I argue that, in spite of being inserted in such constrictive environment, Sarah denotes a position of agency, to the extent that she does not conform with such pre-established moral and socially acceptable behaviors.

Afoxés: Manifestação cultural baiana ou pernambucana? Narrativas para uma história social dos Afoxés
Non-existent in the streets of Olinda or Recife in the 1970’s, the “afoxés” are today an important presence in the events promoted by the Black Movement and in Pernambuco’s “Carnaval”. Gradually they have occupied a clear space in the society and they constitute more than sixty groups that carry out activities annually. Still today, however, they are questioned by sectors of the intellectuality for its "bahian origin". Such argument looks for to take the legitimacy from “afoxé” as a cultural manifestation allowed to attention and resources from the public power. But where do the “afoxés” really come from? Who are the people who make them and where do they act? This work will discuss the history of afoxés in Pernambuco between the 1980’s and 2000. It will also discuss the historiography and the interpretations that the black movements had build about it.

Terry Eagleton: culture and politics in transformation
This article aims at commenting on some works by the British critic and essayist Terry Eagleton. The following books have been selected: Against the grain: selected essays (1986), William Shakespeare (1986), The Ideology of the Aesthetic (1990), Ideology: an introduction (1991) and The Illusions of Postmodernism (1996). Our hypothesis is that this period represents a transition phase in both the form and content of Eagleton's work. Some previous theoretical assumptions are abandoned and others are reaffirmed or modified. I try to discuss the results of this process in cultural, historical and political terms.
The reconfiguration of cultural identity in We Need New Names, by Noviolet Bulawayo
The aim of this article is to analyze the reconfiguration of the cultural identity of the protagonist of We Need New Names, by Noviolet Bulawayo. In this coming-of-age novel, the author narrates Darling’s story from her childhood, in Harare, Zimbabwe, until she became an adult, as an immigrant in the United States. The novel’s background is the economic, political and social crisis that plagued the country in the post-independence period, aggravated by the spread of AIDs. Like many compatriots, the protagonist builds a utopian image of America, which, years later, melts away due to the difficulties faced by immigrants on American soil.

Lean thinking practices for the information and knowledge strategic management
The deployment of the Lean Thinking principles determines structure and processes in organizations which seek to achieve better levels of productivity and efficiency by eliminating waste and continuous improvement initiatives. The processes of information management and organizational knowledge management are relevant in this scenario, since the recognition of the strategic importance of information and the dissemination of knowledge among the different functions of the organization are critical factors for the achievement of a superior performance. Thus, the purpose of this study is to identify that Lean Thinking practices are facilitating factors for a creation and dissemination of organizational knowledge. It is a research based on a literature review of the scientific production developed from 2007 to 2016 on studies that investigated aspects of organizational knowledge management in contexts of Lean Thinking deployment available in the Scopus, Lista–Ebsco, Emerald, Web of Science and Science Direct databases. The method chosen was PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews). The literature review evidenced the existence of Lean Thinking practices that facilitate the creation and dissemination of organizational knowledge, such as: organizational structure, autonomy, integration mechanisms, knowledge replication, contextual ambidexterity, learning and use of lean tools. The characteristics identified in these practices make possible all phases of the knowledge conversion process (SECI process) and promote networks of interactions in which knowledge is created, shared and used by people in organizational environments. It is also concluded that the deployment of the Lean Thinking principles allows gains in efficiency and productivity that are obtained by the elimination of wastes in the work processes and that promotes the development of a suitable context for the management of organizational knowledge.

Archival appraisal: an analysis based on systematic literature review
This paper results from a research developed on archival appraisal, which the problem of define the background and investigating the approaches used in the national panorama. The objective was to identify and demonstrate the scientific production on document appraisal in Archival Science and in its interdisciplinary relationships. As grounded in the literature of the area, the appraisal process is fundamental for an effective and efficient record and information management, aiming at both the rationalization and the formation of an organizational memory, and it is from this premise that the research proceeds. The methodological procedures adopted were do systematic review with the brazilian literature on archival appraisal and also when related to document management, listing the scientific productions, under peer review, indexed in the Base de Dados em Ciência da Informação (BRAPCI) of the last 10 years (2007-2016). It presents the research results, identifying the articles that deal with the theme, categorizing the methodologies and describing its characteristics, parameters and adopted criteria. It concludes that the methodology of Schellenberg's Theory of Values, despite anachronism in contemporary studies of the area, is still predominant in the theoretical framework of research and is represented in the national legislation that involves information evaluation. It also concludes that in view of the paradigmatic, technological and administrative structuring changes of the contemporary Institutions, it is possible to identify which more recent methodologies have begun to receive prominence, as is the case of Macroappraisal and Evaluation of Information Flow.
