José Mauro de Vasconcelos: The interpreter and translations of Brazil
This article addresses the life and work of the writer José Mauro de Vasconcelos. It has the triple objective of discussing comparatively the nationalization and internationalization logics of the youth literature production, the shifts and submissions throughout the author´s trajectory and the correlation between his translated work and the expectation of Brazilian, French and Spanish-American readers. Therefore, the contingencies and choices apparently disconnected in José Mauro´s profession, an intellectual who would never be enshrined by established authors, deal with the antagonistic centers which interact in the literary space and guide the book industry through the twentieth century: between passeurs and national borders guardians, between traditional literature made erudite and foreign literature made massive popular.

A theoretical-methodological dialogue about the technique in Vitor Marinho's thought
The years of 1980 were important for Physical Education, because the renewing thought was disseminated and the sociocultural perspective emerged. In this period, there were criticisms in the light of the Human and Social Sciences to the positivist paradigms (like technicalism) in the productions of the time. Thus, the present study aimed to identify the conception of the technique in the sociocultural perspective through the analysis of the work of Vitor Marinho, one of the intellectuals responsible for the diffusion of the renovating movement. For that, three texts published by the author in the 80s were analyzed, evidencing the explicit and implicit elements about the technique and its questions. The data were treated qualitatively, based on the theoretical reference of Álvaro Vieira Pinto. The results pointed out that the change of theoretical-epistemological referential that occurred with the renewing thought promoted contributions to think the technique in a critical and humanistic perspective, albeit imperfectly in relation to the here chosen theoretical framework.

GUERINI, Andréia; MARTINS, Márcia. The translator’s word: Reflections on Translation by Brazilian Translators. Florianópolis: Editora da UFSC, 2018.
The bilingual (English and Portuguese) book The translator’s word: Reflections on Translation by Brazilian Translators, edited by Andréia Guerini and Márcia Martins (2018) regards the universe of literary translation emerging from our national context. The relevance of such compilation is undeniable, for a series of reasons. The most obvious one concerns the fact that considerably peripheral nations (such as Brazil) are often forgotten in translation historiographies, which tend to focus on more hegemonic and already established traditions (German, French, U.K. U.S., etc.). Besides that, the book brings together a panoply of insights from historically renown Brazilian translators and their precursors, who deserve better attention and whose writings were so far considerably disorganised in the research records of the field. It is high time one endeavoured to restore such rich history, but, it is worth mentioning, not without scavenging in search for the contributions of some of our women translators – who have already been sufficiently ignored, but who are recollected by the book in question.

Popular science texts of ciência hoje online magazine: potential to discuss aspects of the nature of science
This article aims to identify characteristics related to the Nature of Science in popular Science texts of Ciência Hoje online journal, in order to verify if these materials can be a potential resource to discussion of this theme in science education. Articles from the area of chemistry, physics and biological sciences were selected from January 2014 to April 2016, totalizing nine texts, which were analyzed through Discursive Textual Analysis. For the analysis of the corpus, the studies on epistemology of science were adopted as theoretical reference. It was possible to identify five dimensions (categories) about the Nature of Science in these texts: theoretical-methodological; motivational; resulting; historical-temporal; and social and collective. Although they present some stereotypes about science, the results indicate that such texts can be used as didactic resources in the approach of this theme.

Freshwater sponge-dwelling Chironomidae (Insecta, Diptera) in northeastern Brazil
The Neotropical region possesses a rich freshwater sponge fauna; however, knowledge about its taxonomy and the community inside the sponges remains fragmentary. Chironomidae (Insecta, Diptera) larvae associated with freshwater sponges have been largely reported in literature and some genera are recognized as containing species exclusively dependent on these organisms. In this study, we analyze the occurrence of chironomid larvae associated with freshwater sponges (Spongillidae) in northeastern Brazil. Samples were collected in two aquatic systems in Pernambuco, Brazil, in February 2011 and October 2012. In the Rio Sirinhaém, Corvoheteromeyenia australis (Bonetto & Ezcurra de Drago) was the only sponge collected, and Polypedilum Kieffer, Goeldichironomus Fittkau, Xenochironomus Kieffer and Cricotopus Van der Wulp were the chironomids found as its associated fauna. On the other hand, in a fishpond, Heteromeyenia cristalina Batista, Volkmer-Ribeiro & Melão, Radiospongilla inesi Nicacio & Pinheiro and Tubella variabilis Boneto & Ezcurra de Drago were the collected sponges, and Polypedilum, Chironomus Meigen, Dicrotendipes Kieffer and Goeldichironomus were the larvae associated with these species. Although only species of Xenochironomus are reported to have close interactions with freshwater sponges, herein we document other Chironomidae genera associated with these organisms. Nevertheless, further investigations are needed to better understand how chironomid larvae use sponges as shelter and/or to avoid predation in a facultative way. The objective of the present study was to analyze the occurrence of Chironomidae inhabitants of freshwater sponges in aquatic systems in the state of Pernambuco, in order to contribute to the knowledge of sponge-dwelling chironomids in northeastern Brazil.

Physical Education in the periodics of the Imperial Medicine Academy between 1870 and 1889
Physical education was one of the concerns of medical thinking in the city of Rio de Janeiro during century XIX. In this paper we will discuss representations about physical education in two journals of the Imperial Academy of Medicine between 1870 and 1889. We are interested in asking representations and discussions about the theme of physical education, during the period of 1870 to 1889. From the analysis of the sources it is perceived that physical education was related to a concern with the formation of the Brazilian Nation. Hygiene should create the grammar of how to create the Brazilian people through physical education.

“My life can not stop”: abortive itineraries for young women
This article deals with the results of research conducted between 2012 and 2014, whose objective was to analyze how the class and the race constitute different itineraries for young women of a Metropolitan Region of Brazil. Eight young people between the ages of 19 and 28 were interviewed, four of the popular classes and five of middle classes, three white and five black. As results, we find differences of class and race in the itineraries. White and middle-class young people have shorter courses and are able to have a somewhat more consistent information network and report a more conflictive decisionmaking process. While the black and working class youths narrate longer routes, they have a more precarious support network and their decision-making processes need to be more immediate.

Education and sensitivity: the play and move yourself the child in school
Thus, this study had as main objective to investigate about the ways as the play and the move yourself are proposed in the school environment and how they contribute for the sensibility education to the child. First, it was developed a theorical research about the subjets and the fundamental authors, that suply the base for the second part of the study. This other step was an empirical study that involved two municipal schools from the city of Capinzal, SC; one located in the countryside and the other one downtown. It was chosen a class of chuildren from 4 to 6 years old in each school, that totaling 40 children. Therefore, in the investigated schools, the stimulus to situations construction that enable the sensibility development receives little importance, what commits meaningly the sensibility education of these children and limits the creation’ power.

Polyphony and truth in legal narratives
The article is inserted in theresearch field of Law and Literature, morespecifically in the scope denominated Lawas Literature. It approaches the judicial processand, highlighting its polyphonic and narrativeaspects, aims at demonstrating the pertinence ofincorporating the notions of narrative coherenceand verisimilitude to decision theory. To do so,it uses the Bakhtinian concept of polyphony, which comes from literary and linguisticstudies, by examining the dialogic nature oflanguage and characterizing the polyphonicdiscourse; then, it highlights the narrativityand the polyphony of the judicial process; and, finally, to illustrate the theoretical conclusionsreached, the paper problematizes the conceptionof truth postulated by Michele Taruffo, opposing it to the idea that a judicial decisionconstitutes a piece of fiction assumed to be true.

Niels Bohr, spectroscopy, and some atomic models at the beginning of the 20th century: a historical episode to teacher training
The Danish physicist Niels Bohr (1885-1962) is known by physicists and chemists because of his atomic model, which was relevant to develop quantum theory and theoretical chemistry. His contributions are usually presented in a simplistic way in most of the science didactic materials, especially those aimed at basic school. Most of the time, the view of a history that is linear, elitist, neutral, naive, and producer of irrefutable evidence is reinforced through a single universal method. Such conceptions end up fostering a stereotyped and naive view of science, in contradiction with specialized literature recommendations and official documents that suggest a critical training about scientific knowledge and its development. With this in mind, in this article, we present an alternative approach to narratives present in didactic materials, especially in the context of initial teacher training. We emphasize little known atomic models, personal aspects of scientists, and some elements of spectroscopy development when elaborating some atomic models at the beginning of the 20th century, emphasizing Niels Bohr's contributions. We present the theoretical and methodological assumptions used to delimit a historical approach and to prepare a historiographic narrative. This result aims at offering elements to support teacher educators regarding the use of a historical approach to science, in order to promote, in their future professional practice, the teaching and learning of scientific concepts and reflections on scientific practice.

The debate of contemporary political theory on “freedom” and a sketch of sociological criticism
The article aims at mapping the contemporary debate on the problem of freedom in political theory and, in a related way, presenting a sketch of sociological critique to the discussion. In the first part of the text, the three main concepts of freedom in political theory are presented: freedom as non-interference, freedom as self-realization and freedom as nondomination. In the second part, some of the theoretical grounds underlying the debate on freedom are presented, confronting the main formulations of three traditions of the contemporary theoretical-political debate: liberalism, communitarianism and republicanism. In the third and final part, we proceed to the elaboration of a sketch of sociological critique of conceptions about freedom in political theory. The article proposes the demarcation of a fundamental distinction between the two disciplines with regard to the problem of freedom, taking into account two aspects: the theoretical and epistemological constitution of the two disciplinary fields (moral philosophy vs. objective science) and the object for reference in the analysis of the restrictions of freedom (State vs. society).

The work of elderly caregivers from the perspective of the care economy
The characteristics and work challenges of elderly caregivers are still little studied in Brazil. This article aims to explore the perceptions of elderly caregivers about their work from the perspective of the care economy. Through qualitative research, ten interviews were conducted with caregivers who offer their services to the elderly population in the person’s home. The interviews were conducted based on a semi-structured script and analyzed through content analysis. The study proposes four categories related to characteristics and challenges of this work: a) the job is presented to caregivers as a need to complement income; b) the job is a source of physical and mental suffering; c) caregivers criticize the commodification of care; and d) it points out difficulties in adjusting relationships of intimacy, affective involvement, and work compensation. The results allow exploring the subjectivity of this work and point out interventions to train workers, offering better conditions to caregivers.

Inorganic salts in the postharvest control of Penicillium digitatum (Pers.) Sacc. in orange
The objective of this research was to evaluate the effect of treating oranges with potassium chloride (KCl), potassium hydroxide (KOH) and potassium silicate (K2O3Si) for green mold caused by Penicillium digitatum. The experimental design was completely randomized with five treatments and four replications, each with twenty fruits. For the experiment, the fruits were washed, superficially disinfected and pierced with a needle (2–3 mm deep). After 24 hours, the fruits were treated with inorganic salts or distilled water (control) and, 2 hours later, inoculated with 15 μL of P. digitatum spore suspension. Green mold incidence, rate of lesion expansion, lesion size and sporulation area were evaluated at 96, 120 and 245 ha. At 245 hours after inoculation (hai), the KOH and K2O3Si (50 g.L-1) treatments were the most effective, affecting all evaluated variables and reducing the disease incidence by 80% and 36%, respectively, compared to the control. However, the KOH treatment caused wrinkling and dehydrated the peel, affecting the visual quality of the fruits. In conclusion, among the tested inorganic salts, the K2O3Si treatment (50 g.L-1) reduced the green mold in the citrus without negatively effecting fruit appearance, which indicates that this treatment is an option as a complementary measure to manage the disease.
