Reproductive biology of the saddle cichlid, Aequidens tetramerus (Heckel, 1840) (Cichliformes: Cichlidae), in small forest streams in the Machado River basin, southwestern Amazonia

The aim of this study was to evaluate the reproductive strategy of Aequidens tetramerus in small streams of the Machado river basin, southwestern Amazon. We collected samples in two streams using seine and dip nets along a 50-m stretch of the stream. We collected 86 fishes, 19 males and 67 females (sex-ratio, 3.52 female:1male). Their body size varied from 1.5 to 11.5 cm. The size at first reproduction was 1.8 cm for females and 2.0 cm for males. The reproductive season of the species occurred in the dry period.

Criteria for reception of decisions on the crimes of contempt of the interamerican human rights system in the superior court of justice in light of the external conventionality control

The article deals, in the light of conventional control, with the receipt of the recommendation of the Inter-American Human Rights System to decriminalize crimes of contempt by the Superior Court of Justice. The analysis is limited to two features that guide the Court’s positions: Special Appeal 1,640,084/SP and Habeas Corpus 379,269/MS. The method is inductive and bibliographic review and documentary analysis are used as research techniques. It is concluded that the Superior Court of Justice considered only decisions in which the State was party to the litigation, which rules out the reception through the mechanism of external conventionality control.

Partidos políticos e financiamento eleitoral no Brasil: a atuação do grupo financeiro Itaúsa

Archival Appraisal: an analysis of different approaches

Objective: Presents the Master degree research results in Information Science and has as general objective to systematize and articulate, in their theoretical and methodological perspectives, the propositions of authors of different theoretical approaches about Archival Appraisal. Methods: Qualitative Content Analysis, having as empirical basis four texts of different theoretical approaches on document evaluation: "The Appraisal of Modern Public Records" by Theodore Schellenberg; “Macro-appraisal and functional analysis: documenting governance rather than government” by Terry Cook; “Improving Our Disposition: Documentation Strategy” by Helen Samuels; and " A avaliação em Arquivística: reformulação teórico prática de uma operação metodológica" of Armando Malheiro Silva and Fernanda Ribeiro. Results: it was verified that all the analyzed authors consider that it is impracticable to preserve all documents and that appraisal is the adequate means to manage the large volume of documents produced and accumulated by the organizations. It was also verified that the four approaches converge, with respect to the preservation of a portion of documents that is significant, in some way, to the social memory. However, they differ as to the factors that determine the significance of these documents, namely: their potential for future research; the value that the society attributes to them; the ability to document a topic or area; or their ability to monetize institutional memory. Conclusions: It concludes that the four approaches interact directly or indirectly through denial, assimilation, reaffirmation, adaptation and / or re-signification of ideas about the different aspects of Archival appraisal.

Small Parties and electoral disputes in Brazil: a performance analysis between 1998 and 2014

This article aims to contribute to the study of small Brazilian parties by analyzing their performances in elections and their organizational characteristics. It presents the discussion of possible criteria of how to establish which are the small parties and proposes one according to which the cases are selected. Electoral data on executive and legislative disputes at the three federative levels of the selected party group are analyzed and the different performances of the small parties are related to their organizational characteristics. The analysis shows that the parties with the greatest capillarity and less institutionalization of their sub-national directories have performed better in the analyzed period.

A Walk for the City: reflections on information and memory in the city from a poem by Charles Baudelaire

Walking through the city, in an analogy with the act of writing, is a tracing of paths and paths by constructing the informational content of the subjects in the city space, through the paths outlined by the city as a social actor. This article presents a reflection on the construction of the information through the act of walking through the streets of the urban city from the analysis of the poem of Charles Baudelaire "A Uma Passante", passing through the understanding of the city as a space of representation and as a memorialistic infor-communicational artifact and cultural expression of social subjects through a literature review based on the Information / Memory interrelationship. These are fragments of the theoretical foundation that will base a proposal of thesis under construction developed in the scope of an Information Science program.

Women, Negritude and the Construction of a Transnational Modernity

Taking as a starting point the work of Aimé Césaire in his decisive formulation of the concept of négritude, I propose a reflection about this concept in different historical moments, answering to political and cultural demands of each context. Thus, this article intends to focus on two feminine poetic voices that, in different ways, echo the principles of négritude, reinterpreting it in its specific agendas: Noémia de Sousa inserted in the Portuguese and African environment of the 1950s, and the Brazilian Singer Luedji Luna, Who ressignifies central issues of the same theme in the Brazilian context after affirmative actions. Through the approach of these two voices of diasporic Black women, I intend to identify transnational networks of planetary solidarity construction in a feminist perspective.

Unveiling Affinities Through Differences: Post/Decolonial Knowledges and Aesthetics

Under the bias of multicultural feminism, the concepts of relationality, discourse positioning and intersectionalities of oppressions are instrumental for a better understanding of the multiple perspectives that inform current feminist practices, anchored in post/decolonial knowledges and aesthetics. Our discussion aims to address political practices and aesthetics adopted by women from very diverse social and geographic places. The artistic/cultural production that is developed through varied languages and narratives promotes possibilities to foster poetics of gender resistance and decolonization that challenge our traditional understanding of the aesthetic, political, and epistemological.

Racism, Fashion and Diversity In Beauty Patterns: Iman, Somali Top Model From The 70/80s

The aim of the work by many feminist thinkers from the 70s to the 90s was to expose the ways patriarchal societies did not live up to the needs and expectations of the women. From the 1990s onwards the feminist debate diversified its geopolitical scope so as to include issues related to race, religion and multiculturalism, while promoting alternative lifestyles. Thus, new gender models became established due to the impact of pioneering figures who changed the limits of what was socially accepted, establishing new possibilities. My research addresses the fashion world, an area of activity with high international impact, responsible for establishing patterns of beauty and elegance. I will address a case study which surpasses racism in the fashion world. My communication explores four biographies and an interview with Somali top model Iman, a star at Yves Saint Laurent in the 70s/80s, when few black models were integrated in the world of high fashion. Currently, Iman lives in America and she has kept a public discourse sensitive to issues of racism in the fashion world. Iman’s testimony is important to reflect on the necessity of diversifying beauty ideals and expose the marginalization of groups of women from the most promoted patterns of elegance and glamour.

From Word to Thread: Cecilia Vicuña’s Fluid Textures

In the book La realidade es una línea (1994), Cecilia Vicuña (b. 1947), Chilean poet and artist, synthesizes one of the most powerful metaphors of her visual and poetic work: the confluence between thread (object) and line (representation), which weave a complex fabric made of multiple experiences and questionings that cross geographies and artistic genres. If weaving, and its confluence with word, sound and image, is one of the main processes explored by Vicuña (both in real and metaphorical terms), in this brief article I intend to explore how this process is expanded in the book, here seen as a place of deterritoralization, fluidity, becoming – but also of dissidence.

Narrating the Trauma in The Diasporas: Metaphors of The Disease in The Literature of Female Authorship in Zimbabwe

This paper aims to reflect on the process of deterritorialization of African subjects who experienced the diaspora, choosing three texts of female authorship from the Republic of Zimbabwe, Nervous Conditions (DANGAREMBGA, 1988), Zenzele: uma carta para minha filha (MARAIRE, 1996) and Precisamos de Novos Nomes (BULAWAYO, 2014). The discussion will focus on the analysis of some characters in the books and how their experiences resulted in traumas, both psychological and physical, in observing the different perspectives of overcoming

Learn with modelling: relations between modelling (mathematics) and creative processes

This theoretical article aims to present a proposal methodological model, constructed from a research that analyzed the relationships between the creative processes of different professionals and modeling procedures (mathematics). The proposalThe model, called learning with modeling, is based on the theoretical ideas of Rodney Bassanezi and Maria Salett Biembengut. The results of the research that originated this paper was carried out with 10 professionals from different branches, their results encouraged the publication of this proposal theoretical results. Pathways to use as a pedagogical practice are modeling, through learning with modeling, in the search to develop creativity and communication, in order to value the student's culture and surroundings. As results the categories are presented: Intention - choice of the theme to be developed; Projection - familiarization with the subject, search for subsidies; Creation - preparation of first sketches and 'product' (model); Product - validation and evaluation of the model. Considerations and recommendations about education suggest ways of using learning with modeling as a pedagogical alternative for any year of schooling and discipline.
