Variation under a psycholinguistic perspective: number agreement in Brazilian Portuguese and its impact for the schooling

This paper discusses the impact of schooling in the production of number agreement in Brazilian Portuguese (BP) by 6th graders in Rio de Janeiro. Number agreement in BP can vary between: (a) redundant, the standard variety or (b) non-redundant, non-standard forms. Such variation is influenced by speakers’ socioeconomic status (SES) and educational level (Naro, 1981; Scherre & Naro, 1998 among many others). Results of an elicited production experiment carried out with 6th graders suggest influence of SES/ type of school and academic performance in language production; the effects of schooling and metalinguistic awareness are discussed. An account of language production is presented by conciliating L1 and L2 models of speech production, considering the possibility of the coexistence of varieties in a single speaker to be akin to bilingualism.

Metodologias para o ensino de astronomia e Física através da construção de telescópios

This work contemplates the construction of reflecting telescopes as didactic tool for Physics and Astronomy teaching. Each stage of the construction can be linked with the contents of geometric optics and optical physics with different approaches, depending on the education level of working: Fundamental, High-School or Graduation. It was possible to verify that the construction of reflecting telescopes of the Newtonian type shows up as accessible and easily understood by graduated students involved in the project, turning the learning of Physics and other related sciences as motivating and efficient. In the other hand, the construction of the reflecting telescope of Cassegrain type must be considered only when involving students of graduation level, because it concerns more complex processes in the accomplishment and analysis of the primary and secondary mirror surfaces. Moreover, the development of the apparatus construction yields the creation of the Group of Studies of Astronomy in the Department of Physics of the Unesp, campus of Bauru, where subjects related to astronomy education have been treated and discussed jointly with students and teachers of Fundamental and High School levels. Our conclusion is that the use of the telescopes to teach students of Fundamental and High School levels has been a great incentive to the observation of the sky and to the comprehension of many celestial phenomena, relating them to contents of Physics and also other sciences, such as Mathematics, Geography, Environmental education and Meteorology.

Environmental regulations and competitiveness: a comparative study between Brazil and France

This study aimed to verify if there is any kind of association between the rigor of environmental regulations and the competitiveness of the countries Brazil and France, between 2005 and 2015, based on the results of the environmental policy stringency indicators (Environmental Policy Stringency Index, OECD) and competitiveness (Global Competitiveness Index, WEF). In addition, we sought to analyze the evolution of the rigor of environmental regulations and competitiveness. It is a qualitative and quantitative research, descriptively analyzing the variables under study and using Pearson's linear correlation statistical test. The results showed that France presented greater rigor in its environmental policies than Brazil and demonstrated a greater degree of competitiveness. In addition, environmental regulations in Brazil were negatively correlated with only three pillars of competitiveness, while France showed a correlation with eight pillars of competitiveness. The work contributes to the literature demonstrating the importance of strict environmental regulations for improving the performance of green industrial production.

The learning for research in a PIBID/Chemistry group

This article presents the results of a study that investigated the learning for the research in a PIBID/Chemistry group, in which were analyzed the registers of the speeches of its members present in 31 Memories. For the analysis and interpretation of the data it was based on the procedures of the Discursive Textual Analysis and the learning for the research was characterized through the Focuses of the Learning for the Research, which constitute 6 categories that point to the necessary evidence for the formation of a researcher:  Interest, Knowledge, Methodology, Creativity, Community and Identity. Through the analysis, we realized that learning for the research in the PIBID/Chemistry group occured due to learning of theoretical references in the areas of Education and Teaching of Chemistry/Sciences and also the group members interaction in research communities, with emphasis on elaboration and dissemination of scientific papers in congresses and periodicals in area Education and Teaching of Chemistry/Sciences, which correspond to Focus Knowledge and Community, respectively.

Logical-inferential relations in the use of connectives porque and já que: a comparative study between Elementary and Undergraduate Education

This paper presents a comparative study between Elementary School and Undergraduate Education investigating the use of connectives já que and porque in sentences with inferential causal relations established through inductive and deductive logical reasoning. As the acquisition of some connectives is related to schooling and consequent exposure to the written modality, this work can contribute to raising questions about the relationship between the acquisition of this modality and its influence on the way we interpret logical-inferential relations. In this paper, we present a forced-choice judgment test in which participants should choose between the connectives  já que and porque when they are exposed to sentences with direct and indirect causal relationships. Our hypothesis was that, in indirect cause relationships, individuals with more experience in reading would choose já que, but individuals with little experience should choose mainly porque in both cases.

An analysis of Electricity History present in textbooks: Benjamin Franklin s case

This work analyzes how history of electricity is presented in textbooks for Fundamental and Secondary Schools. In particular it analyzes how Benjamin Franklin s studies on electricity are described by these books taking into account the quality of historical information and ideas on the nature of Science conveyed by these historical narratives. We found that history of Science presented in the analyzed textbooks is superficial, with many historiographic mistakes, and brings erroneous views on the nature of Science and its method that do not correspond to the current epistemological knowledge. Usually these narratives reinforce the idea of the existence of genius minds, value only the currently accepted scientific knowledge and transmit the empirical inductivist views on the scientific dynamics.

Gymnastics for all and collectivity: a literature review

This research proposes a literature review about the collectivity in Gymnastics for All (GfA). The data collection was made in seven scientific database together with the analysis of special editions of Conexões Journal. This process turned out 72 documents: 51 papers, 4 thesis, 9 dissertations and 8 final undergraduate report. Most of the researches indicate the importance of the social character of the GfA, in addition to mark it as a practice that allows social interaction. However, we observed the absence of theoretical deepening and dialogue with references of related areas, which could help to understand its collective potentiality. This understanding would allow a different look at cooperation, sense of belonging and social recognition, whose are important elements for the development of collective activities and, therefore, of the GfA practice.

Chica Bananinha, the Bearded Dyke from out there in Paraíba: When Sapatão is “Revolution”

In this article, we take a look at the cordel “Chica Bananinha, a Sapatão barbuda de lá da Paraíba” (Chica Bananinha, the bearded dyke from out there in Paraíba) (1984) to understand how naming can refer to lesbianities. Regarding the theoretical basis, we use the notions of Swain (2004), Foucault (1988), and Plato (2001), among others, to problematize concepts of Lesbianity and the representation of the act of naming lesbians. Through the cordel, we can see how naming, identifying and categorizing, even via stereotyping, enables visibility for lesbianities and the existence of lesbians, in the face of the historic silencing and erasure of registers that attest to their presence. The cordel, in addition to representing this existence, allows us to question practices that were denied and suppressed in the 1980s.

The olympic didactical situations (SDOs): teaching mathematical olympiads with support in Geogebra software as a resource in visualization

The Olympiads of Mathematics acquired an important space in our country, above all, the kind of modality that allows the participation of large numbers of public school students, as in the case of the Brazilian Olympic Games of Mathematics of Public Schools (OBMEP). On the other hand, it is essential to provide, for a larger number of students (non-competitors), an expressive contact with a mathematical culture that usually reaches directly only to competing students and teachers officially involved with the Olympics. Thus, the present work presents the notion of Olympic Didactic Situation (SDO), which, through the assumptions of Theory of Educational Situations (TSD), allows a differentiated approach to Olympic Problems (POs), with a stated emphasis on visualization, provided by software GeoGebra. Therefore, the notion of (SDO) provides a perspective and a proposal for the dissemination and mediation of mathematical knowledge that seeks to disseminate a differentiated perspective for early mathematics teachers.

In the light of Science in Early Childhood Education: Challenging children's imagination to unravel optical phenomena

This work presents an analysis of the visitation of children from 4 to 6 years old to the exhibition “To the Light of Science in Early Childhood Education”, promoted by the Universidade Federal do Pampa, based on a proposal for the dissemination and popularization of science on the theme of Light. The proposal was part of the celebration of the International Year of Light (2015), having received support from the Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq) for its realization on two campuses: Bagé (in 2016) and Caçapava do Sul (in 2017). We describe in this work the thirteen stations of the exhibition circuit, analyzing how the children, accompanied by their teachers and university monitors, interacted with the experiments and artifacts, as well as their ability to express scientific concepts related to the theme, such as: reflection, refraction, light energy, light and shadow and others. As, at the time, the children still did not master writing and reading, the data on the visitation experience were gathered through drawings and comments made by them after having covered the entire exhibition circuit. The enchantment and joy during the visit to the exhibition left the certainty that it is possible to make scientific knowledge accessible to children of this age group and that curiosity is the most important element to be explored during an interactive exhibition, as they remain attentive and receptive to what challenges their imagination.

New Feminisms? Intergenerational Connections and Conflicts Between Feminists

In this article, we will discuss the idea of “new feminisms”, an increasingly common notion in the media and in academic analysis, presenting the generational debate as it stands today among the youngest and most experienced feminist activists. After this contextualization, we analyze how this debate is lived by young artivists – activists who use art as the key means of activism – and feminist cultural producers in activity in Rio de Janeiro, exploring intergenerational connections and conflicts within contemporary feminisms.

Mood state in collective sports: case study of Itatiba teams

The purpose of this study was to investigate the mood states of athletes of collective sports, teams from the city of Itatiba/SP, participants of the regional games of 2018. Thus, the Brunel Mood Scale (BRUMS) was used, together with 34 athletes, volunteers, of both sexes, aged between 15 and 29 years. Participants belonged to 3 teams: Men's Volleyball, Women's Volleyball and Men's Basketball. The results showed that at the beginning of the competition the athletes of all the teams presented a positive state of mood, since the Vigor factor obtained the highest scores, but the Female Volleyball athletes were superior in this factor the other teams. It can be concluded that the investigated athletes had higher scores to Vigor factor, characterizing the sample with the so-called iceberg profile, a profile considered ideal for sports performance.

Quality of life of teachers: scientific production analysis

This theoretical research aims to analyze the scientific production on the Quality of life of teachers working in Basic Education schools. For operationalization, searches were carried out in the indexation bases by means of the research equations. The 15 articles selected were analyzed in a descriptive way. A predominance of publications was identified between the years 2011 to 2017. The most investigated teachers were those who work in Elementary and Middle School. The most used instrument was the World Health Organization Quality of Life. Teachers were predominantly with a regular perception of quality of life and assessed as regular the psychological, physical and environmental domains and as positive domain social relations. Researchers attribute the result, from the general perception and domains of quality of life, to the characteristics of the teaching work, to the workload, to the demand for classroom planning, to the school environment, to remuneration and benefits.
