Placing the archive on mathematical meaning
A comparative study will be undertaken in order to unveil a set of affinities perceived between the history of numbers and awareness of the value of the archive in an organization. Two hypotheses are investigated: 1) the archive has to be perceived by the agents involved in it as an asset in the organization; and 2) electronic work environments include multiple challenges and significant possibilities for an archive and/or its management system for documents to be treated in an organization. An analytical method of descriptive nature is used based on comparison, with the aid of normative and bibliographic sources of archive. Using this method the assumptions made were checked and new actions were suggested due to continued change.

Information management and mediation in digital reference service focused in Social Sciences
This paper investigates the current relationship between information management and information mediation along with the digital reference service through a case study which took place in an academic library. The concept of information mediation is herein analyzed, since a conceptual examination provides elements that will help people to comprehend and evaluate the concerned service. The information professional plays a very important role in the mediation aforementioned, which may be directly or indirectly; consciously or unconsciously; by himself/herself or plurally; individually or inserted into a group – in all such manners that mediator facilitates the acquisition of information, fully or partially satisfying a user’s need of all sorts of knowledge. Meanwhile, we here approach information management from a scope that points out a description over performed activities concerned to policies and procedures put into effect until the service evaluation by proposing a criterion for such point. Finally, we outline a few actions to be implemented in long-term perspective, which goal is to continually ameliorate such assistance, taking in account the human factor.

Models of knowledge management in micro and small enterprises
The paper analyzes models of knowledge management (KM), based on the profile of the micro and small enterprises (MSE) in the state of Sergipe, Brazil, specifically the models proposed by C. R. Silva Jr. (2006); E. E. Thiel (2002); M. C. Rumizen (2002) and G. Von Krogh and K. Ichijo and T. Nonaka (2000). The characteristics of the MSE in the Brazilian economy emphasize their place of prominence as responsible for 28% of gross revenues from the formal sector and 20% of Gross Domestic Product. However, the lack of researches which emphasize the reality of the MSE may be one reason which interferes in their more significant role in the Brazilian economy. The corpus consists of 60 (sixty) employees from 10 (ten) MSE installed in the Technological Park of Sergipe, incorporating managers, key professionals and members of the operating body. Through the techniques of interview, questionnaire and direct observation, it identifies the attributes of technology in the MSE, as well as the characteristics of the adopted processes and the ones considered ideal for employees. The most important results reveal the inadequacy of the analyzed models, because they are always elaborated by considering the reality of medium and big enterprises. It concludes, finally, that none of analyzed models are fully adequate to the reality of the MSE, and even the model of Von Kroch, Ichijo and Nonaka approaching closely to the profile of these companies, still requires modifications to its implementation. It is recommended, therefore, the creation of a model through further analysis of the activities from other adoption models to establish a new model suitable to the limitations of MSE.

Applications of knowledge management in the area of Librarianship and Information Science: a systematic review
The knowledge management (KM) has become an important guideline for the Information and Knowledge Society, as well as for libraries. Thus, this article presents a literature review using a systematic approach, with the proposition of identifying trends and applications of knowledge management in the areas of Information Science and/or Library Science. It has been noticed that there are differences between the concepts of information management and knowledge management characterized as barriers to the implementation of KM. Libraries have often developed KM activities (especially regarding the sharing of knowledge, through Web 2.0 features). The uses currently applied are related to the use of blogs, wiki tools, shared classification systems (tagging), social networks, among others. But in some cases, the libraries are not properly aware of their work. It is necessary that they make KM a part of their routines and think of it in a systematic way, in order to channel resources, planning, among other things, and benefit from the improvements that can be achieved through KM, perfecting their services and satisfying their users.

Capacity building initiatives in preservation technique: a case study of nigerian universities
The librarians are often encouraged to maintain and keep their collections accessible through digitization as their stock in trade is their collection. This study examined capacity building initiatives in preservation techniques in selected libraries and assessed the level of training received by different library staff. Four university libraries were randomly selected and a descriptive survey method using a self-developed questionnaire. The respondents comprised librarians and non-librarians. A total of one hundred and twenty copies of questionnaires were distributed, but a hundred and twelve was retrieved and used for the analysis. The study revealed that there were no professionals to manage the preservation section of the university library and as such, most institutions make do with Para-professionals like binders, technicians and library officers etc. Analysis from the respondent’s show that Universities in Nigeria are not exposed to capacity building in preservation. Finally, regular trainings are vital for the development of all staff and for any university to stand out amongst others; there must be provision for usual capacity building of both faculty and staff.

What does a domain analysis look like in form, function and genre?
This article presents an inventory what theorists describe as the definition of domain analysis. Survey writings on and of domain analyses for their distinct attributes and arguments. Compile these components and attributes, linking them to their function, and from there. Describe a proposed ideal form of domain analysis. Evidence that while the debate about the substance and form of the epistemic and ontological character of domain analysis will continue, some might find it useful to give shape to their ideas using a particular form that follows function. If our purpose is to delineate and communicate what it is that we are analyzing when we engage in domain analysis, then I hope this small contribution can be of use.

Information Seeking Behaviour of Students of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, Oyo State, Nigeria.
The diversity in people account for how they seek information and this is what has prompted this study. This paper investigated the Information-Seeking behaviour of students of Ajayi Crowther University, a private university in South Western Nigeria. The survey research method was used and questionnaire administered to five hundred (500) students randomly selected from the three (3) faculties in the university. The data gathered from the questionnaire was analysed using the frequency count and simple percentage. It was discovered that majority of the students (66%) sought information for academic purposes and the library (62.8%) was their preferred place of searching and using information resources. Also, that their course of study (47.6%) influenced the format (55.4%) they want information in. Majority of the respondents (53.2%) also expressed satisfaction with the library for being able to meet their information needs. Recommendations were then made that the library should increase and improve its stock to meet the demands of the students, provide working internet connectivity to enhance ease of electronic search and databases and train its staff in interpersonal relations to improve staff- user relations. And lastly, that periodic user education should be carried out in the library to educate users on effective and efficient use of the library to get maximum satisfaction.
