Incidencia de apectos historiográficos en la Organización de los saberes en la Universidad
Knowledge Organization has been generated primarily within universities. The university will establish that space which states and defines each knowledge and organizes all disciplines. It is necessary to address a genealogical and historical perspective of universities to analyze and identify the artificiality of our concepts, knowledge and classifications. The origin of the University dates back to the Middle Ages, the first University was in Córdoba, and how this institution influenced decisively in the knowledge that encouraged and organized themselves. In late Western Middle Ages, the organization of knowledge in universities is at the service of the Church. The modern world is going to separate the doctrine of the Church from University knowledge. And, subsequently, in various periods that there was a suppression of freedoms it has reversed immediately in the scientific content itself and in the bias that has characterized it. The construction and structuring of knowledge requires, as a fundamental value, a context of freedom. Globalization contributes to deconstruct organizations among knowledge while the technocratic discourse is imposed over other discourses and also over the critical capacity to develop global approaches. The university develops a performative discourse, that is the discourse itself producing the event to talk, words, language and classifications create reality. That is why scientific discourse is performative and shapes the knowledge itself. In the University context one must raise divergent approaches against existing systems and the dominant paradigms of thought. Thus the University has to fulfill a key role in stimulating critical thought. The University must pursue performing its tasks in freedom. What reports a fragility against the powers that seek to violate as it should have its own sovereignty. The University collects the accumulated knowledge and organizes it. It should question the order of knowledge and propose new models

Alguns apontamentos sobre a Classificação de Documentos de Arquivo
The work assumes that the classification of records is a matrix function of archival practice and plays a key role in records management. Unrated is almost impossible to work with evaluation and the description, which together form the heart of archival practices. Provide the basis for other archival functions is not the only purpose of classification, it is crucial for the maintenance of the archival bond and to allow access to records and information. It searches from a flyover in the literature on the topic, discuss sensitive aspects to the classification of records, such as: the change in the ways of searching for documents and information in contemporary organizations; risks of leverage plans for classification in search tasks; the limitations of the functional method for structure classification schemes, among others. And in the end, it proposes ways to overcome some of these problems.

A theoretical investigation about the notion of parts and wholes: mereological and meronymic relations
Within the realm of Information Science, information retrieval is a seminal issue. Knowledge organization systems are instruments that organize knowledge by connecting concepts through semantic relations for purposes of information retrieval. One of the most important of these semantic relations is the so-called part-whole relation. In this paper, we revisit some peculiarities of part-whole relations that are often overlooked by the Information Science community. In order to do this, we provide a theoretical investigation of two perspectives used to explain the notion of parts and wholes: a formal perspective, which is based on the philosophical study usually called mereology; a non-formal perspective, which is based on the linguistic study about a relation called meronym. We discuss the relationship between these perspectives through the issue of transitivity, which is an important property of part-whole relations for information retrieval. We find that these perspectives, although distinguished, are somehow complementary. The results of our analysis suggest that the choice for either a formal or a non-formal perspective could be based on a pragmatic criterion in the scope of development of knowledge organization systems. We conclude by offering some considerations correlating two main sorts of these systems, namely ontologies and thesauri.

O processo de análise de assunto na catalogação em bibliotecas universitárias para a proposta de normalização: estudo de observação com protocolo verbal
The subject analysis is an intellectual stage of subject cataloging process in which the cataloguer is subject to internal and external inferences. The result of the subject analysis process is reflected directly in information retrieval because it must be compatible with the user's information needs during the formulation of your search strategy for subject in the catalog. Despite the standardization have the function to clarify and systematize procedures performed by various professionals at the same time, it is observed that it is necessary to update them and improve them. Accordingly, there was observational study of the subject analysis process when cataloging in university libraries in order to provide support for the improvement and updating of standards and procedures the subject analysis, the documentary reading, the identification and selection of concepts. Observation was performed with individual verbal protocol application and ethnographic research in 16 university libraries, 12 in Brazil and 4 in Spain. And as a result it was observed that the absence of methodological tools causes the cataloging develop their own methods, such as the recovery of subjects recovered in cooperation catalogs.

Representação e persistência de recursos informacionais digitais gerados dinamicamente em sítios oficiais do Governo Federal
The Information Access law, sanctioned in November 18, 2011, regulates the constitutional right of access to public information by Brazilian citizens. Although this law requires the provision of information of public interest, it does not define how such information should be made available. Ideally, information should be in an open format, allowing its use in an efficient and fast way. In the official sites of the federal government the way information is currently available does not allow its reuse as they are presented in dynamic pages from the selection parameters and filters. The objective aim of this paper is to present the system called MDDIR Tool, which proposes ways to persist, represent and retrieve digital information resources generated by the Federal Government official sites. Although this system had been designed for a specific purpose, it may be applied to other fields with similar characteristics. The purpose is to facilitate the access to open data, allowing such data to be consolidated and organized , generating new knowledge and information easy to be interpreted by the general population.

Ranking da produção científica dos Programas de Pós-Graduação em Ciência da Informação no Brasil
This study focuses on the scientific production of postgraduate programs in Information Science from 2008 to 2012. It aims to list the scientific production recorded in the Lattes curriculum of Professors connected with the Graduate Program in Information Science accredited by the Coordination improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) with grade five. Through qualitative and quantitative research, the literature review sought to align itself with the Assessment System for Postgraduate deployed by CAPES. The methodological procedures identifies the registered Professors within these programs, collecting data in the Lattes curricula, and treating them from the bibliometric and scientometric assumptions to weave analysis and validation of results. It discusses scientific production in relation to the Information Science in the country. It analyzes that there is a difference of almost 50% between the first placed with the third and the fourth in the ranking of scientific output. The estudy argues that qualitative criteria could improve the systems of evaluation of programs that would contribute to the development of scientific production. It concludes that the different rates of production of scientific programs with the same note could be the main snag CAPES evaluation. At the same time, this study suggests, for example, postgraduate programs to adopt criterion focused on responsibility or requirement of publication policy by students of graduate programs within the programs.

La organización del conocimiento en el Nuevo Orden Transcultural: del totalitarismo a la desclasificación (la razón como creencia y la oc como burocracia)
Starting from the traditional conception of classification, with an emphasis on its role as exomemory, but warning of the dangers of the symbolic violence, this article analyzes two dimen-sions that complement each other; reason as a belief and knowledge organization as bureaucracy for a subsequent approach to the epistemic obstacles to a cross-cultural dimension that subsidizes what might be called declassification, while adopting a complex approach that does not exclude any pre-, post- or para- epistemological tool.

LIBRARY USE FROM DISCIPLINE CONTEXT: ANALYSIS OF PERSONAL TRAITS AND ATTITUDES OF UNDERGRADUATES
ABSTRACT: This paper identifies the patterns of library use of undergraduates from discipline context based on their personal traits and attitude or Mode of library use. Medical and Arts undergraduates’ personal traits and attitudes are examined. Twelve variables which represent personal traits and six attitudes are observed. Descriptive analysis is used to measures the personal traits by mean values and Chi-square and ANOVA tests was used to identify the statistical differences of attitudes by disciplines. The results found that personal traits make them different in libraries. The students in the two discipline areas turned out to have very similar characteristics in traits and displayed most pronounce diversity in library use. There are significant differences in the attitude of library use by discipline. Need of library services by personal traits and attitudes in discipline context are highly required. Incorporating these findings with the existing libraries or ameliorating the services in general has a practical impact on utmost user satisfaction.

Potential of ontology for interoperability in e-government: discussing international initiatives and the brazilian case
Interoperability is one of the fundamental requirements to enable electronic government. Its implementation can be classified into technical, syntactic, semantic, and organizational levels. At the semantic level, ontology is regarded as a practical solution to be considered. In this context, its adoption was identified in several countries, with different levels of maturity and so many focuses as the specific implementations. One of the main challenges to be overcome is the legal question that refers to the legislation to assure “the preservation of the legal meaning of data”. The lack of efficient mechanisms to support the deployment and use of ontologies can turn the overall task time-expensive, restricted in scope, or even unfeasible. Additionally, many initiatives are recent and need to be validated over time. This paper presents a non-exhaustive survey of the state of interoperability in e-government from the perspective of ontologies' use. The cases of Palestine, European Union, Netherlands, Estonia, and Brazil are discussed.

Contribuition to the history of documentation on Brazil: the Brazilian National Library and its relationship with the International Institute of Bibliography
This article investigate the creation, in 1911, of the Serviço de Bibliographia e Documentação in the National Library from Brazil and what would have been the influence of the International Institute of Bibliography (IIB), founded in 1895 by Paul Otlet and Henri La Fontaine. Seeks to demonstrate that the creation of the Bibliography and Documentation Service can be considered part of the international cooperation project by Otlet and La Fontaine. It intends to contextualize the period of transformations by which the Brazilian National Library went through, especially during the construction of a new building and its further occupancy as well as the administrative changes implemented by its director at the time, Manoel Cícero Peregrino da Silva. The methodology consisted of bibliographic and documentation based research in the archives of the Brazilian National Library and the Mundaneum Archives Centre in Belgium as well as the Brazilian Historic and Geographic Institute and the Foreign Ministry. The article argues that the establishment of the Serviço de Bibliographia e Documentação and Boletim Bibliographico da Bibliotheca Nacional were results of the contact maintained between the two institutions. It concludes that the International Institute of Bibliography and the Brazilian National Library sustained a close relationship for some years which apparently contributed to introduce the Documentation as a discipline in Brazil.
