The anatomical and radiographical aspects of the urinary bladder of dogs were studied by cystography performed by excretory urography or urethrocystography. The dogs. clinicaly healthy, were divided in males and females groups. In both groups the piriform shape was the most frequent and in less frequence the oval shape was observed in both sex. No significant diference was observed in the position of the male e female urinary bladder. The mean distance between the urinary bladder with the contrast and the pubis margin was 0.65 cm in the males and 0.48 cm in the females. In all animals the superficial mucosa was smooth in all extension of the bladder wall, and the filling of the bladder lumen with a homogenous aspect of its cavity by the contrast.

Following previous studies in cistography technics, as well the anatomical and radiographycs aspects of the urinary bladder, we used this technic in 226 dogs with urinary bladder diseases referred to the Radiology Section over a 4 year period. We observed in a higher frequency irregularity of the mucosal surface due to chronic inflamation of the bladder, with no sex prevalence. In a lower frequency, the caudal dislocations of the urinary bladder are noted exclusively in the males. The cranial dislocations were seen more in males. The radiopaque calculus are more frequent in females. The bladder ruptures were seen in the males only. The ventral dislocation were more frequent in females and, finally in only two cases the failure in the filling of the urinary were observed in females.

Foram efetuadas contagens de ovos de Eurytrema sp em fezes de bovinos naturalmente infectados e os resultados indicaram que o método de exame coproparasitológico empregado, independentemente da carga parasitária do hospedeiro, tem 94,2% de probabilidade de diagnosticar casos de infecção, quando se efetua um único exame. Ademais, ficou comprovado que o número de ovos de Eurytrema sp por grama de fezes obedece a um modelo de distribuição binomial negativa e se caracteriza pela sua pequena magnitude.

This paper describes the fecundity and spawning behaviour of Astyanax bimaculatus, in Ibitinga Reservoir (21°46'S - 48°59'W), São Paulo State, collected from June 1989 to May 1990. 39 mature females were examined and the average fecundity resulted 12276 ± 8483 ovocytes. For determination of spawning behaviour 368 females were used. It was observed that the spawning is discontinuous, with annual periodicity and higher frequency  in December-January. The fecundity is a linear positive function of the ovary weight.

The arterial blood supply of 30 pairs of swines testicles were studied. The animals 6 to 10 months old were obtained from the “Campus Administrativo de Pirassununga, Faculdade de Medicina Veterinária e Zootecnia - USP” and from “Seara Industrial de Xanxerê S/A - Santa Catarina”. The testicular artery was injected with vinyl in order to obtain arterial models. In 50% of the preparations the testicular artery showed a variable number of lateral and medial branches; in 31.7% there was predominance of lateral branches. On the remaining 18.3% it was observed predominance of the medial branches. In 43.3% the testicular artery originated two branches, a lateral and a medial. In 30.0% of the preparations there was predominance of the medial branch, while the lateral one predominated on 13.3%. On the remaining 6.7% of the organs the testicular artery gave a dorsal branch and a ventral branch, the later prevailing on the vascularization of the organ. Concerning to the number and distribution of the arterial penetrant vessels, as analysed by the median method, it was possible to observe little differences among quadrants on the various models studied. When the testicular artery originated a variable number of lateral and medial branches (50%), it was possible to observe the presence of penetrant vessels that starting from the branching point reach oposite quadrants to the principal destination of the original artery. In 20.0% of the preparations when the division resulted in a lateral branch and a medial one, there were additional branches originating from the testicular artery prior to its division point. In 59 models (95.0%) anastomosis between the testicular artery and its main branches of theirs collaterals were identified. Those anastomosis were observed under thin albuginea and in the caudal face of the organ generally. Other anastomosis were noted between branches of the testicular and epididymary arteries. There were no significant differences among median values (P>0,05) of total number of penetrant vessels of the right or the left testicles.

The systematization of the biliary ducts of the liver of the great anteater (Myrmecophaga tridactyla) is analyzed. The ductus choledocus has no affluents and results from the union of the ductus cysticus and the ductus hepaticus always arises from theramus principalis dexter and the ramus principalis sinister, and is seen without tributaries in three cases, receiving them meanwhile in the other one. The ramus principalis dexter is made up of the ramus lateralis lobi dextri and the ramus medialis lobi dextri. The ramus principalis sinister is formed by the ramus lateralis lobi sinistri, the ramus lobi sinistri and the ramus lobi quadrati.
