In this work, we inserted two Arrayed Waveguide Gratings (AWGs), in an Erbium doped fiber ring cavity laser, where a single gain medium at room temperature can emit laser in multiples wavelengths, simultaneous and individualy controlled. The setup allowed us to check different functions in the ring cavity. Here we show emission in CW regime, Passive Mode-Locking, using Carbon Nanotubes as saturable absorbers and finally Active mode-locking at 7GHz, simultaneously.
The present work, named Fashion Culture: Clothes and History, a sensitive way. A creative process, an aesthetic production?, investigates an educational practice and possible asymmetries and impermanences of the contemporary subject, the Fashion graduation student, by means of fashion history knowledge production and using a pedagogic activity named memory book , as a dispositive (Foucault), a poetic experience of thought (Heidegger) and also the artistic fruition. This research discusses Yohji Yamamoto s work as well as his identity as a fashion designer in relation to the visual arts. The phenomenological-existential method is also used, as well as historical narratives, intersubjective contact and observation. It reflects the individual creator/author and reader/discoverer towards modernity and contemporaneity. I also make use of micro-history as an analyses tool considering its analytical and detailed character by establishing a wider view over the cultural history. And, with the intent of interdisciplinarity, this research introduces unfinished creation and movements from the students and their singularities, histories, and dressing inheritances.

Harry Potter entre o espelho literário e o cinematográfico
This development work focused on the research areas Language, Literature and Society: speech communication, religious discourse, pedagogical discourse, political discourse; has as its object of study the literary and cinematographic work Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, the fifth volume of the narrative initialized by the British author J. K. Rowling from the 1990s and adapted for the cinema from the 2000s. To the research, it was selected a piece from the literary work, this specifically in the fifth volume of the series, entitled Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, where the young Harry Potter has fight against your main enemy inside your own body. This passage makes it possible to understand that the character goes through an identity crisis: Harry Potter received when baby some magical powers from his enemy when he tried to kill him, and he suddenly lives with a mixture of good feelings (love, friendship, courage) and bad feelings (anger, fear, insecurity) that oscillates fast, and he believes that Voldemort, somehow, exerts control over them. Harry Potter believes he is leaning toward evil, as well as with your enemy, but knows he must fight to defeat Voldemort and the Death Eaters and restore peace in the wizarding world. In this way, it will be addressed also this point in the film (entitled by the same name) trying to understand how the essence of the literary fragment was transposed into the visual language, using as the main theoretical basis, the translation Intersemiotic by Julio Plaza.

Álvaro Siza: caligrafia concreta
This study examines and explains Álvaro Siza's work and journey, especially regarding the interface between design thinking and the constructed building. It justifies the choice by this architect because he understands that his projective positioning, critical and reflective, which takes space as a resource capable of being molded or modeled, construction as a concrete manifestation of his own artistic ability and architecture as a tangible phenomenon placed at the service of people. As a research hypothesis, this thesis considers the fact that the buildings Álvaro Siza designs materialize his way of thinking an architecture based on a set of correlated conceptual variables: focus on human being, attention to the local context and appreciation of materiality. It situates the architectural course of Álvaro Siza in the history of Portuguese architecture from the mid-twentieth century onwards, relating his projects to some of the political, social and cultural circumstances of the country. It stresses that it is through the genealogy of his work that it is possible to understand an architectural practice that is supported by mediation, balance, pragmatism and the combination, adjustment or harmonization with preexistences. These, although sometimes without patrimonial or monumental value, are respected and considered as basic subsidy to the project. It understands that Siza’s creative exercise considers, in a very particular and characteristic way, a set of negotiations between means and ends, opportunities and choices, materials and forms. It argues that in the experience of built architecture it is possible to perceive the essence of his projects, the consistency of his ideas and Siza's ability to respond positively to the requirements of each new project conceived. It adopts as an investigative procedure the inferential method of Baxandall (2006) articulated to bibliographic and field research. Thereby, elects the Viana do Castelo Municipal Library (2008) and the Nadir Afonso Museum of Contemporary Art (2016), both visited in 2019, for a more detailed design, circumstantial and constructive analysis, namely in relation to the reasons for the orders, to the drawings as indispensable instruments to the project, to the relations with the surrounding spaces, to the formal and material choices, to the structural and constructive systems and to the analogies with other works of his own. It concludes that, over the years, Álvaro Siza has perfected an architectural calligraphy that continues to represent his style or his very own and peculiar way of making architectural projects, and that is enshrined in a continuous experimentation, in the belief that there are no pre-established rules, because always propitious to the combination of design demands and signals provided by the real world. An architecture that does not surrender to contemporary aesthetic manipulation, since it is valued by its own plastic logic, always designed to offer people spaces to be experienced and not just contemplated. An architecture in which matter can be understood as the element that transforms the project’s idea into a tangible element, and for that very reason anticipates the possibilities of existence and resistance in the physical world, thus validating its own raison d'être.
The aim of this work was to answer the following question: Which learning activities are present among the business staff of a university? The main goals were: (i) to identify and analyse which work activities, either formal or informal, bring learning knowledge to the business staff of a university; and (ii) to analyse the learning activities, formal and informal, by examining the aspects that facilitate and the obstacles that influence the knowledge acquisition. This work was made in a university in São Paulo city through a quantitative research conducted by means of a survey. The data collection with the business staff was made through a research form based on Slater (2004), adapted to this work. The main results were explored with the use of statistic tools (Excel, SPSS and SmartPLS), which allowed and the confirmatory factorial analysis (based on the final collection results and the pre-test results). The results identified that the staff learn more through informal learning activities, especially when executing their own jobs, interacting with other employees/ students and communicating with themselves. The activities executing their on job and interaction with other employees/students were considered the most important for the administrative employees who took part in the research. The factor individual learning is the one that influences the most the existence of informal learning in the Educational Institution, and it was responsible for 49% of the results in this research.
O processo discursivo do presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva
The president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva always generated interest in the social stand point. Born in Garanhuns, he came to São Paulo in a pau-de-arara (truck used to transport workers in very precarious conditions) and reached the highest point at the national hierarchy: the President of the Republic of Brazil. His speeches have always drawn multitudes of people: first, as a union leader at the doors of industries, then as president of the Workers Party (Partido dos Trabalhadores) and, finally, as the President of the Republic. With that in mind, this essay intends to evaluate the contents of two of Lula s speeches. The first one made soon after the victory on the second round of the electoral poles for the presidency and the second at the day he took over as the president of Brazil. Two different contents, tow different speech processes, two different moments seen under the light of the French Method for Speech Analysis, which focuses on the examination of the deixis, the development of the speech formation and the presuppose.

This dissertation is a case study about the practice of music teaching with students of 8th and 9th years of Brazilian Ensino Fundamental II (the final years of Elementary Education), with songs from their own everyday life, at a private school in São Paulo, revealing an approach based in a project named Portas da Música (Doors to Music). Its specific purposes were to analyze contributions of Music as pedagogical practice to the general education of individuals in school environment, and also to debate the teacher s role and teaching objectives, regarding the teacher as a mediator for learning and knowledge building. The theoretical foundation comprises authors such as Paulo Freire, Antônio Severino, Arminda Aberastury, Michael Young, Keith Swanwick, Teca Alencar de Brito, Sérgio Figueiredo, Maura Penna e Maria de Lourdes Sekeff, among others. For the specific purpose of the analysis of the written production by students throughout the year, we used Bernard Charlot s Theory of Relation to Knowledge , with its approach to identity, social and epistemic relations. We concluded that the relations the students established with knowledge and learning through songs from their own everyday life have enabled not only the construction of disciplinary, musical knowledge which, in its turn, expanded the possibilities of interaction with human knowledge, but also non-disciplinary philosophical-epistemic-existential knowledge, which granted the students with new world views and self-images, contributing directly and with dignity to the process of individual humanization, for the realization of the cultural being over the purely biological being, ultimate purpose of mediatory education.
Work Objective: This study aimed to identify whether managers incur in the confirmation bias and in the anchoring and adjustment heuristic when making estimates of budget targets. It discusses the Prospect Theory, which encompasses concepts from cognitive psychology, going deeper into the contexts of economic and financial environments and their decision-making. The concepts of heuristics and cognitive biases in decision-making processes are explored, relating them to the fact that people rely more on loss than gain values to make a decision, thus nurturing a certain risk aversion. Methodology: The study is categorized as exploratory-descriptive in nature, using a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of a non-probabilistic sampling procedure, with 114 respondents, all of whom are responsible for the decision-making process in relation to budget planning in the companies in which they work. Data were collected through a questionnaire, with closed questions, sent through social media. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, using R and Excel software. Practical implications: With the execution of this work, a manual tool was developed as a product, containing proposals for actions to be taken (to do) and avoided (don't), in order to assist managers in training their teams, minimizing the risk of errors confirmation bias in budget planning. It is understood that this tool can also help decision makers to self-assess and, as a result, to avoid certain patterns that lead to decision biases, especially confirmation bias. Originality and contributions: This project brings as originality the discussion of topics of cognitive psychology and behavioral economics to the area of management accounting, specifically applied to the budget planning process and its complexity. It is understood that through the managed tool, a self-analysis contribution can be made by the respondent decision makers and other managers who are responsible for decision making in a budget process. The main objective of generating such a tool is that such decision makers can identify the patterns that lead them to decision biases, especially confirmation bias. Keywords:
