The oxide nitric (NO) is a responsible endogenous species by dilation of the blood vessels, being also active in the brain and in other physiologic processes. Donors of NO are pathophysiologically active healthy substances that liberate spontaneously or they are metabolized. Sodium nitroprusside, Na2[Fe(CN)5NO].2H2O, is part of a class of compounds that liberate NO spontaneously and it is the only metallic compound used clinically. Associated problems with the use of nitroprusside include susceptibility the photolysis and oxidative action of the immune system, in which it leads to the liberation of cyanide. In this work it was accomplished the study and kinetic monitoring of the reaction of the compounds cis-[Ru(bpy)2LNO](PF6)n (L = imidazole and sulphite) with cysteine, glutathione, methionine and histidine, for the obtaining of kinetic and spectroscopic data that can contribute to the elucidation of your action mechanism. The kinetic results for the reaction of the nitrosyl complex with the cysteine and glutathione suggest that there is two intermediates formation: the first with absorption band in 450 nm is regarding the attack of the sulfur of the thiols and the nitric oxide. The second intermediate with characteristics band of absorption in 380 nm is due to the attack of the second molecule of the reducers to the formed adduct. The rate constants of the reaction with cysteine presented dependence regarding the pH. This occurs, probably, due to the deprotonated in the sulfur of the cisteína, facilitating the interaction of this thiol with the coordinated nitric oxide to the ruthenium (II). The reactions with methionine and histidine show that there are not the intermediates, due to the absence of the group SH in the amino acids. The monitoring accomplished with HPLC reveal the existence of the same mechanism among the compounds cis-[Ru(bpy)2SO3NO](PF6) and cis- [Ru(bpy)2ImN(NO)](PF6)3 with cysteine and glutathione. In the case of the interaction with methionine and histidine, occurs the decrease of the peak regarding the nitrosyl complex and the appearance of the peak attributed to the aqua complex. The obtained results with the NO sensor, of electron paramagnetic resonance and RMN, they showed that the nitric oxide is reduced and release in the complex without there is the formation of the nitrosothiol. Based on kinetic studies and in the spectrum of EPR, the reaction of the nitrosyl complex with cysteine and glutathione presents the following reduction scheme and liberation of the nitric oxide:

The State Government of Ceará created, in 2003, the Rural Agent Program (RAP). The aim of this study is to analyze the contribution of the program on technological level, employment and income generation and improving living conditions of assisted producers and to measure the level of satisfaction of producers receiving extension services provided by rural agents. The data used were obtained through the applicantion of questionnaires in the counties of Baturité, Iguatú and Quixadá. 90 questionnaires were applied, 45 to assisted producers and 45 to non-assisted producers, randomly selected. t-Student and H of Kruskall-Wallis tests were realized for the comparison of mean values and ratio, respectively with the finality to measure the impact of program on assisted producers in Ceará State. Comparing the producers groups, it is verified that the assisted producers through RAP presented great technology level in relation to non assisted producers. The RAP presented positive impact in employment and income. In general, the quality of life index of assisted producers is superior in relation to non-assisted. The evaluation of producers in relation to the quality service provided by rural agents is satisfactory. It may be concluded that inspite of the number of extension workers in the counties is small to attend the existing demand, the program has benefited the assisted families.

In this work it was accomplished studies about the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) in alkaline middle under alloys of Ni-Mo obtained by electrodepositing in different operational conditions. By comparison, it was also made tests on the surfaces of Ni electrodeposited in the same conditions used for Ni-Mo alloy. For the alloy electrodepositing two electrolytic baths were prepared with Ni and Mo from different compositions and another bath just with Ni. The bath pHs were adjusted to the 9,5 value. The electrodeposits were obtained under galvanostatic control using plating solution with different molybdate ion concentration and current density of 50 mA cm-2. The substratum used was copper with 2 cm2 of geometric area. It was used three electric charge values: 50, 100 and 150C. Another study parameter was the employment of the ultra-sonic radiation in order to compare the electrodeposited alloys under the radiation effect with those obtained in absence. Two temperature conditions were used: room temperature (29°C) and 40°C. The amount of Ni and Mo on the electrodeposited surfaces was obtained by microanalysis of Energy Dispersive X-ray (EDX). The analysis of the superficial morphology of the layers was made using the Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Electrochemical analyses were carried out by cyclic voltammetry in order to determinate the electrochemical active area on Ni and Ni-Mo surfaces. The better active areas samples were selected to others rehearsals. Tafel Diagrams were made, (maintaining stationary state, with the potenciostatic method, applying 20 different potentials inside of the strip of -1,6 V to - 0,95 V), in order to study the relation current-potential, the mechanism and the activation energy of RDH, in alkaline middle. The RDH mechanism used in the samples was the Tafel/Volmer type with the Volmer determining stage. A preferential nickel electrodepositing was observed, and by using ultrasound radiation waves it increased the amount of Mo and altered the morphology of the layers, producing, in some samples, cracks. The samples of Ni-Mo presented good stability in the long term test and minor activation energy values to the obtained for the Ni electrodepositing

Cashew gum based beads were produced through interpenetrating polymer networks and polyelectrolyte complexation techniques. Beads of chitosan (CH) and cashew gum (CG)/CH were further crosslinked with genipin obtained from “genipapo” fruits. This crosslinking agent was characterized by proton and carbon nuclear magnetic resonance and infrared spectroscopy. Beads of CH and CH/CG were doped with sodium diclofenac and characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy and Electron Microscopy. Beads degree of swelling and the drug release kinetics were also determined. It was found that CH/CG beads contained up to 83 % CG and maximum swelling occurred at pH 1.2. The higher the crosslinking density, the lower were the swelling degree and the diffusion coefficient. Moreover, drug release was also found to decrease with increasing crosslinking density and no drug release occurred at pH 7.4 for CH/CG beads crosslinked with genipin, although non-crossliked bead did release the drug at that pH. CH/CG beads drug release was found to follow a non-Fickian mechanism. Polyelectrolyte complexes of chitosan and carboxymethylated cashew gum (CCM) in beads form were also investigated regarding the effects of molar mass and degree of substitution of CCM on the swelling degree and on bovine serum albumin (BSA) release. Data obtained revealed that both of molar mass and degree of substitution affect beads swelling degree and water diffusion coefficient
