Analysis of processes of formation of psychic pictures of congenital deaf people in psychotherapy

Speech is one of the main tools of psychotherapy. This represent an obstacle to the treatment of congenital deaf patients who do not use the oral language. Here we aim to analyze processes of psychic construction in deaf patients who use sign language, its relationship with the linguistic modality and indicate possible considerations for psychotherapy whit this population. We carried out a mutiple case study through a psychotherapy program, planned to attend three congenital deaf subjects fron the deal community of São José do Rio Preto –SP, selected by lot, from a private clinical record. The program was structured in 26 sessions, developed by a psychoanalyst versed in the Brazilian Sign Language. The sessions tool place an individual and systematic basis, aiming to observe the patterns in the development of mental processes, held once a week, lasting 50 minutes. For data analysis we used Spink’s Association Maps and Trees (2010). The results indicate that differences in the semiotic system of language in congenital deaf people determine adaptations in the psychic development of these patients due the psychotherapeutic treatment for deaf people must take place in their own semiotic system, symbolic organization and culture.

Public policies and performance at SUAS in the training of psychologists in Paraná

It proposes a brief return to the history of the phenomenological movement and it points out the relevance of concepts like sensitivity and intersubjectivity. In the context of contemporary phenomenology, particularly following Merleau-Ponty's thought, the paper focus on the aesthetics concept in relation to the environment (Arnold Berleant) and the issue of the otherness (João Frayze-Pereira). The revision of the idea of aesthetic as a theory of sensibility opens up the field of everyday aesthetics and the meaning process of interpersonal relationships. In sum, the contribution of the field of social aesthetics in psychology highlight the participatory aspects of the sensitive dimension in social life.

(In)Security in the field of university extension:micropolitics of affectations with children in the periphery

This text aims to guide an analytical debate from the affections experienced by a researcher teacher when accessing a peripheral territory in the city of Fortaleza-CE, as well as presenting the reasons that led her to undertake the crossing to the other side of this divided city and the repercussions of this on the actions of an Extension project. The relevance of this writing is to promote a critical reflection on the binomial security / insecurity that crosses us in the context of university extension. What is the reality limit of (in)security? What paralyzing and mobilizing affects can we access in this academic activity’s territories? In order to dialogue with these questions, we chose to cut scenes of this insertion in the periphery, presenting some micropolitics resulting from the affectations produced by the participation of the subjects involved in this project, through analyzes of the relationship between the participating children and the academic team; the relationship of these children with their neighborhood and the city (beyond the “walls” of the periphery).

Conversations and Narrativization of Psychological Suffering Among Adolescents

Abstract: This article discusses the method of Conversations in its ethical-political dimension. It was used for the narrativization of psychological distress among adolescents. The intervention research was carried out with young people from a high school located on Fortaleza. Conversations are configured as a work methodology developed from psychoanalysis, widely used in working with young people in school contexts. Its objective is to provide a space for the elaboration of malaise that emerges as an impasse in the social bond. The Conversations took place in the second semester of 2019 and had a group of eight teenagers. The experience attested the power of Conversations as a way to narrate the psychological suffering in its socio-political dimension. The adolescents, when translating their malaise into words, moved between shared experiences and the subjectification of what is unique to them. Psychological suffering was associated by adolescents with family difficulties, experienced mourning and the violence present in the territory where they live. (Un)constructed narratives as a political task of decolonial participatory research

This article aims to reflect on epistemic-methodological issues in the construction of narratives in participatory research. We place our reflections based on three researches carried out in the doctoral process, of two researchers and one researcher who are part of different Institutions, but participate in the same research group - GEPCOL-UFPE, the same GT-ANPEPP, and developed their studies with a focus on youth narratives. We highlight in these studies that for the execution of participatory research that seeks to build narratives, it is necessary to the emergence of an alternative path to hegemonic models, which requires a change in the researcher's posture, in the sense this considers the social markers that constitute it in the relationship with the participants and in the construction of information. It is also necessary to use methodological epistemic references that make it possible to value the experiences of the subjects, that allow them to speak, to be heard, and to have their voices visible in the texts. We believe that the narrative is political for being shared, for seeking to make visible the situations of oppression and inequality in society, and also for contributing to the construction of decolonial practices and resistance.

Notes on the relationality in participatory researches with children and youth in/of the global south

The present article presents a series of reflections upon participatory research, focusing on the relationships established between children, young people and adults. Based on the different researches the authors have taken part in two universalisms often present in studies with children and young people are problematized. On the one hand, developmental psychology’s universalism objectifies children and young people as individuals who are less capable than, and in the process of acquiring rationality and identity. On the other hand, recent studies conducted mainly in the global North project the newer generations as autonomous beings that can clearly enunciate their voices and state their points of view, as long as the proper conditions to do so are guaranteed. In opposition to such universalisms, it is defended that the interdependent relationship between the researcher and the researchee produces both subjects, and that it is through this relationship that the research can be made participatory and relevant to those taking part in it.

Alexithymia, masculinity and sexual behavior among Brazilian men / Alexitimia, masculinidade e comportamento sexual entre homens Brasileiros

Normative masculinity and alexithymia may negatively affect sexual life and men’s well-being.  In this study, the endorsement of traditional male norms, alexithymia and sexual behavior were assessed through an online survey directed to Brazilian men. Relationship status and religion were also addressed, and associations and correlations between variables were carried out. The survey presented 66 items, including standardized questionnaires, such as Meanings of Adolescent Masculinity Scale, Toronto Alexithymia Scale and Male Sexual Quotient. The sample consisted in 528 Brazilian men with high socioeconomic and educational levels. Alexithymia was negatively correlated with sexual satisfaction. The endorsement of traditional male norms was positively correlated with pornography use and was also associated with sharing of pornographic material through social media. Married men had the lowest levels of alexithymia, with significant difference when compared with men who are not currently in a relationship. Furthermore, having a religion was associated with greater endorsement of traditional male norms. These findings suggest that alexithymia may have greater influence on behaviors associated with interpersonal relations, including sexual satisfaction and relationship status. Conversely, normative masculinity was linked to personal variables, which did not involve a partner, including pornography consumption and religion.

Saúde mental e trabalho na universidade pública: uma revisão sistemática / Mental health and work at the public university: a systematic review

Neoliberalism caused changes in the organization of public service work, including in universities, impacting the lives and health of workers. Thus, the aim of this research was to carry out a systematic review of scientific articles on mental illness among workers at Brazilian public universities, identifying the causes, illnesses and consequences for the lives of workers and for the institutions to which they are linked. For this, a search was made in three databases, two digital libraries and a database, whose final sample was 21 articles. It was noted that civil servants are mainly affected by occupational stress and burnout, in addition to other consequences for civil servants. There is a prevalence of studies with professors to the detriment of administrative servers. There was a scarcity of publications abou0t the impact of these illnesses on institutions. The importance of the data found for future research on the mental health of workers in public universities is highlighted.

Expressões do desamparo na escola: vulnerabilidades sociais e impactos na adolescência / Expressions of helplessness at school: social vulnerabilities and impacts on adolescence

The article derives from an ongoing research that aims to understand how the conditions of social vulnerability in which many young Brazilians find themselves are articulated to helplessness as a psychic effect and, more specifically, how the relationship with the school takes part in the impasses of adolescence in the social bond. At the interface between psychoanalysis and education, we will work with the material raised from the realization of workshops with classes from the 9th grade of elementary school to the 3rd year of high school in two public schools in the state of Rio de Janeiro. The adolescents used the space of the workshop to express their helplessness, either by silence, by confrontation or by their expression in words in the secrets shared in the workshops, which were grouped as follows: helplessness in relation to the material conditions of the school; helplessness for not feeling welcomed by the school;helplessness in the relationship with their peers; expressions of helplessness as discouragement.

Práticas da Psicologia no contexto carcerário Brasileiro: uma revisão sistemática / Psychology practices in the Brazilian prison context: a systematic review

This text presents the results of a research that aimed to understand the role of professional psychologists in the Brazilian prison context, based on the literature produced and published in the main databases linked to the CNPq. A survey was carried out in the databases in the year 2020 and 7 works were selected for analysis. It was identified that most publications are from 2015, with a greater geographic concentration in the Southeast region. Discussions about the role that (o) psychologist (o) should play in this space and what is her real role prevail. It was found that the practices most exercised by psychologists in the prison system are individual care, psychological assessment and preparation of documents. There is a need for further discussions and research on the role of psychologists in the prison context, as well as these discussions during training in psychology.
