Este artigo apresenta uma análise sobre o potencial da comunicação nos museus para um trabalho de inclusão social, apartir de um projeto de Gestão da Comunicação vislumbrando as possibilidades de se estabelecer uma comunicação dialógicaentre o Museu da Energia de São Paulo e grupos de seu entorno. A pesquisa desenvolvida fundamentou a proposição deestratégias de atuação para que os diversos grupos e entidades sociais de seu entorno se apropriem deste espaço comunicativo ede mediações.

USP’s Science Training Program for Secondary Education, constituted by research scholarships for public schools students, isan innovational initiative oriented to bring together High School and the University, promoting students personal and professionaldevelopment, as well educative and scientific activities in the University. Because of this program’s social and pedagogic importance, its coordinator, Prof. Dr. Pedro Bombonato, was invited to be our interviewee.

New technologies of music production, distribution and consumption have triggered intense reconfiguration in the phonographic industry. By analyzing the recent polemic release of the album In Rainbows by British independent band Radiohead, this article intends to contribute to the debate on the complex issues of piracy and property rights in the digital scene.

In the occasion of 200 years world commemoration of the Braille system creator birth, the emeritus and lifelong president of Fundação Dorina Nowill para Cegos, who has worked for more than 60 years for the social inclusion of the visually impaired individuals in Brazil and elected last year by Forbes Magazine as one of the most influent women in this country, tells us about her life in this testimonial for revista Comunicação & Educação. Fundação Dorina Nowill para Cegos is the major publisher of Braille books in Brazil. It produces books on Literature, Textbooks, Music Scores, among other materials. In2007, it reached the impressive production of 33 million pages of Braille. Books published by that organization are freely distributed for visually impaired individuals and more than 1.650 organizations, such as schools, universities, and associations.

The present paper it had as main objective to investigate, to describe and to analyze the childhood memoirs told by three teachers of Visual Arts at the House of Culture of Santa Maria-RS and through these, to develop the teaching creative process of them. Therefore, the methodology was characterized by a qualitative approach whose History of Topical Life (childhood memoirs) was approached as a methodological line. Data were collected starting from semistructured interviews, documental analysis and field diary as form of recording of the thoughts and of each teacher’s production. About ten meetings were accomplished at the House of Culture.

This section introduces two interesting entertainment activities for teachers and students. The Project Escola no Cinema, created by Circuito Espaço de Cinema, which is coordinated by Patrícia Durães and Eliane Monteiro. The proposal is offering a cultural immersion through cinema, as continuing formation of educator and pupils. The project invests in languages integration, always trying to correlate knowledge areas. Meanwhile, the project Clube do Professor offers exclusive sessions for teachers of formal and informal teaching, in the movie theaters belonging to the chains Unibanco Arteplex and Espaço Unibanco de Cinema. Its objectiveis to expand the teacher’s movie universe, without the commitment of a pedagogic work immediate to the movie experience.

This section recommends two motion pictures that, although different in their themes, genres and historical contexts, put the book and the writing as basic elements for knowledge and freedom: Fahrenheit 451, by François Truffaut (1966), and Freedom Writers, by Richard LaGravenese (1995). The author remarks that these pictures are inspired in Literature, suggesting, as a complement, the reading of texts by Borges and Canevacci.

This issue’s activities are organized in three axes for reflexion. The first one proposes the analysis the experience of being young starting from the socializing dimension of music, bringing to school music as language and studying its mediatorpotential for objective and subjective realities in face of the law that makes mandatory its teaching in public schools. The second one proposes to analyze the relation between thephonographic industry and the youth with digital technologies of creation, recording, distribution and consumption of music, generating the sharing of online contents and the strengthening of independent production. Giving continuity to this reflexion, we propose the activity that deals with the democratic access to media. In the third ax, we retakethe issue of youth, its identity and memories from collections that can collaborate for its formation of critical reader, making them able to look at advertising as knowledge recorder in several areas of society.

Nas escolas, desconsideram-se tanto o poder da língua como sua forma de conteúdo e de expressão das relações sociais. Fato muito bem exemplificado pelo filme francês Entre os muros da escola, baseado no livro homônimo de FrançoisBégaudeau. Não compreender o papel da língua leva a definir a comunicação como transmissão de informação, desqualificando o processo de interação entre sujeitos naconstrução de sentidos. Tema que também pode ser depreendido na análise do filme do inglês Danny Boyle, Quem quer ser um milionário? O protagonista do filme, o jovem Jamal, torna-se um ganhador porque passa a associar as palavras-chave apresentadas como respostas do jogo domilhão a fatos de sua experiência pessoal. As palavras não têm significado pelo que representam no jogo, mas porque remetem a sua vida. Ambos os filmes são excelentesexemplos para o estudo da recepção da comunicação e podem ser fontes de conhecimento a professores e alunos emsala de aula.

The subject of education of cultural managers or, more broadly, professionals dedicated to the organization of culture, as willbe further examined, today is fundamentally important not only to the development of culture in Brazil and in the world but alsoto the creation of cultural policies effectively imaginative and contemporary. A deeper analysis of the theme requires some reflection, although a bit panoramic, about culture presentconfiguration; about the organization of a cultural system; and about the singularities of the Brazilian case in this field.

O artigo pretende analisar a estruturação dos tempos escolares em face das mudanças ocorridas nas tecnologias da comunicação e seus efeitos na organização desses tempos na escola. Para isso, o autor apresenta a opinião dos alunos sobre os módulos de aula instituídos por um projeto de renovação pedagógica na rede municipal de ensino da cidade de Belo Horizonte. O  questionamento dos alunos suscitará uma reflexão sobre o papel dos meios de comunicação nas novas dinâmicas do aprendizado e chamará a atenção para a necessidade de que essas dimensõessejam destacadas na elaboração dos programas educacionais comprometidos com a inclusão social.

The purpose of this paper is to discuss about the possibility of Peirce’s semiotics to contribute for understanding signification processes in different anthropological spaces and also to try toexplain as to reach the actualization of collective intelligence in the classrooms. These reflections contemplate the interfacecommunication/education, in which school teaching practices are looked as one process of communication, and the concepts ofanthropological cartography and collective intelligence developed for Lévy.

Apresentamos neste texto um estudo acerca da interpretação que Ariano Suassuna fez de imagens agentes quematerializam tradições do mundo ibérico medieval para o Romance d’A Pedra do Reino e o Príncipe do Sangue do Vai-e-Volta (1971), bem como da tradução que o diretor Luiz Fernando Carvalho realizou desta obra para a microssérie televisiva (2007). Tanto na manifestação literária comonaquela configurada em imagens de luz e movimento, as imagens surgem como alegorias do passado que se desenvolveram no tempo por meio das diversas formasde expressão da cultura oral, escrita e visual, as quais constituem a nossa memória estética do tema a que dão forma e vida. Tais suportes incorporam elementos do universopoético na construção da linguagem; nesse sentido, serão discutidas questões teóricas referentes à articulação alegóricada literatura, teledramaturgia, pintura e cultura popular.

Using discussions which took place in events carried out in the year of 2008 – to remember 40th anniversary of the AI-5 enactment, in Brazil, and 60th anniversary of the Universal Declarationof Human Rights – this text analyses the several meanings of the principles of citizenship, freedom and democracy, considering the historical confl icts and the political aspirations of different eras.Likewise, it analyses the struggle for the freedom of expression and the importance of discussing it in current days.

This paper deals about a critical approach to international conflicts information, according to Ryszard Kapuscinski’s work. After claiming for a media’s education, it proposes the necessity of reflecting on news’ treatment limitations. In consequence, it also incorporates Kapuscinski’s texts as a model of an hybrid journalism that combines different genres and disciplines, in order to offer a comprehensive information over the merely statistics data, discovering the deep and real reasons of these conflicts.

Na contemporaneidade, a relação entre tempo e espaço, sociedade e trabalho, sofreu grandes transformações. A integração dessas mudanças foi acompanhada por novos processos de homologação dos modelos de consumo e de produção. O objetivo deste artigo é demonstrar como podemos utilizar a comunicação, nesses novos modelos, para melhoraro entendimento entre departamentos e pessoas, promovendo maior informação, conhecimento e, consequentemente,contribuindo para o trabalho coletivo, ao minimizar conflitos, desentendimentos e oposição de interesses. A minha monografia apresentada na banca do curso de Gestão da Comunicação, do departamento de Comunicações e Artes da ECA/USP, sobre o tema Encartes especiais: a gestão do conflito entre publicidade e produção gráfica na mídia impressa da Editora Abril, demonstra na prática as questões citadas.

The regional director of the Sesc/ SP, Danilo Santos de Miranda, is a leading person in the scenery of cultural managers and directly responsible for the innovative policy implemented by his institution in the state of São Paulo. In this interview, he reports his institution’s well succeeded experience in non-formal education and evaluates the importance of communication for education.

O artigo provoca a reflexão sobre a audiência de programas televisivos relacionados à violência urbana, a partir de A Lei e o Crime, seriado produzido pela Rede Record (janeiro/2009) que atingiu expressivos índices de audiência, levando a emissora a ampliar para 23 os 16 capítulos previstos anteriormente. A tecnologia de ponta e o tratamento cinematográfico são apresentados como argumento principal de diferenciação dos produtos televisivos do gênero até então veiculados. Estes aspectos são discutidos a partir dos significados da violência na sociedade, suas diferentes interpretações e como isto se insere naformatação e percepção dos conteúdos dos meios de comunicação de massa.
