This study sought to verify the feasibility of recognizing the right to reasonable inferences as a normative substrate in developing algorithm governance mechanisms in automated decision-making systems that seek to strengthen ex-ante approaches and a normative structure permeated by a risk-based approach that ensures greater transparency and accountability on the part of data controllers. Four chapters containing the specific objectives were outlined to develop the dissertation’s theme. The first chapter addresses issues involving the society of control in the digital age within the context of algorithmic governmentality to encourage reflection between the power of algorithm control in automated decision-making systems and the freedom of choice of the recipients of these systems, as well as an analysis of the risks arising from implementing these systems, including discriminatory biases and opacity. The second chapter covers the constitutional elements of the protection of personal data within a proposition of amplifying its scope of protection to recognize the right to reasonable inferences as an unfolding of the subjective dimension of the fundamental right to data protection by analyzing the subjective and objective dimensions of the referred fundamental right. The third chapter presents the right to reasonable inferences as a normative substrate in consolidating governance mechanisms. Lastly, the fourth chapter encompasses an analysis of the role of algorithm governance within a framework of co-regulation and a risk-based approach, which seeks to consolidate the institutional arrangements of the General Personal Data Protection Law in establishing compliance and accountability guidelines by data controllers involving automated decision-making systems. To answer the question of the topic, a deductive approach was employed with a generalization of the topic for the resumption of a particularized question; likewise, the bibliographical research method was used. It was possible to conclude that, summarily, the right to reasonable inferences can be understood as a standard of behavior for the data controller and having the capacity for establishing governance mechanisms based on compliance. This will enable the development or implementation of automated decision-making systems to be assured and employed by adopting technical and organizational measures that are appropriate to the risks involved in their activities, enabling, as much as possible, transparency and accountability in this proceduralization.

The research presents the perspectives for recognition of the Centro Tradicionalistas Gaúchos Negros within the scope of the Traditionalist Gaúcho MTG Movement and in the society of the State of Rio Grande do Sul in view of the cultural and social role that these entities developed during their trajectories. The guiding problem of this work concerns the investigation of the relevance of rescue actions, valorization and recognition of the participation of the black subject in the formation of the State and the struggle of these insurgent spaces against racism and segregation. The study is dedicated to the cases of CTGs Ronda Crioula in the municipality of São Sepé and CTG Clareira da Mata in the municipality of Caçapava do Sul, both founded during the 70s. Therefore, the objective of this research is to reconstruct the trajectory of CTGs Negros Ronda Crioula and Clareira da Mata, traditionalist entities, as spaces of the cultural heritage of Rio Grande do Sul, in addition to bringing the specifics of these two centers. The methodological bias will be that of oral history, as it is a method that is related to orality, an important factor that transmits culture and information for generations in Black and African Cosmology.

Cured meat products are usually produced with high salt levels to guarantee the microbiological quality of the final product and to improve the sensory characteristics. This study aimed to produce low-sodium dry-cured rabbit leg, and to evaluate the effect of this reformulation on the physicochemical and sensory characteristics. The legs were made with a reduction or replacement of 50% of NaCl by KCl and the addition of monosodium glutamate (MG). After salting, the legs were placed in a ripening chamber under the following temperature and relative humidity (RH) conditions: 2 ± 1 °C and 90 ± 5% RH from day 1 to 7; and 12 ± 1 °C and 70 ± 5% RH from day 8 to 28 of storage. The sodium reformulation had no major impact on aw, pH, and weight loss of the samples during processing. All treatments showed high protein (> 30%) and low fat (<6.0%) levels. The amino acid score was above 1.0 for all essential amino acids. Oleic acid was the main fatty acid (FA), representing almost 1/3 of the total fatty acids. All reformulated treatments presented a sodium reduction close to 45%, and the formulations made with the addition of KCl showed a healthy Na/K ratio. A lower saltiness perception was reported by consumers in the sorting task for the samples with a 50% salt reduction. The formulations containing KCl showed lower flavor and overall acceptance scores (P <0.05), and were characterized in the CATA test by the attributes "astringent flavor", "bitter taste" and "metallic taste". Although MG led to an increase in the saltiness of the formulations made with a 50% salt reduction, it was not effective to suppress all the sensory defects caused by the addition of KCl. The changes observed in TBARS values, pH, and redox potential throughout 90 days of storage at 20 ºC demonstrated that the sodium reformulation did not affect the oxidative stability of the product.

Heritage education is a permanent and systematic process of educational work which, combined with a set of other actions, such as tourist management strategies, turns out to be a powerful instrument for cultural valorization and dissemination, facilitating the understanding of the sociocultural universe we are in. The main objective of the product “UFSM Murals Route” is to propose a cultural itinerary with UFSM’s extensive collection of mural art as the central theme. Employing theoretical references, interviews, collection and analysis of data, the study was developed with the purpose of identifying the heritage’s potential as a cultural attraction and, therefore, to contribute to its visibility and valorization through the resignification of these spaces, using heritage interpretation in order to bring the community closer to the institution's memory. The tourist experience has the ability to stimulate and facilitate the valorization of cultural resources by local communities, giving visitors the opportunity to develop and transform the way they interpret them, resulting in a different perception of their daily lives.

The present dissertation, inserted in the History and Cultural Heritage Research Line, aimed to design a website for the Casa Museu I João Luiz Pozzobon, located in São João do Polêsine/RS, one of the territories of the Quarta Colônia Geopark, as one of the resources/means to supply the demand of that place of memory, regarding its valorization and virtual dissemination. With that, this type of technological resource that results in the final product of this study, presents research results, as a summarized synthesis of the life of João Luiz Pozzobon, especially in the phase in which he lived in his family's house and, in parallel, the context of Italian immigration in the region of Quarta Colônia do RS. Thus, the website presents texts, photos, videos and reports about the life of João Luiz Pozzobon, his house, the local landscape space, the customs of the time, among other contents that not only promote Casa Museu I, but make the visitation of the museum consistent and informative, contributing to promoting tourism, disseminating the cultural and historical values stored in Casa Museu I and, thus, contributing to regional social and economic development. The research theme is entitled Cultural Heritage in the district of Vale Veneto, São João do Polêsine/RS: stories and characters told in a textbook. In order to carry out this work, a bibliographic research was carried out to provide a theoretical basis for the topic in question, deepening the themes related to the oral memory of the residents of this locality. With the Heritage Education support, we sought to awaken in the fourth and fifth grade students of the Padre Rafael Iop State Elementary School the curiosity to learn about their community’s heritage, as well as to value and preserve the memory of the local historical heritage, as told by the older residents. The research was carried out due to the opening of extra vacancies by the Postgraduate Course in Cultural Heritage of the University Federal of Santa Maria, linked to the Fourth Colony Geopark, giving teachers the opportunity to continue their studies by taking a master’s degree. The final product of this dissertation was a textbook that can be used by all schools in the region to deepen the knowledge about Cultural Heritage, Heritage Education, and Memory, in a language accessible to students from nine to eleven years old. The research on the oldest buildings in Vale Vêneto, a district of São João do Polêsine, also emphasizes the history of Italian immigration in the town where immigrants build their houses with the dream of improving their families’ lives. These residences have meanings that are transformed within the living space. We seek to value the memory of these residences by disclosing the stories that happened and were lived by the older residents of this community in the textbook.
