The beverage metal packaging industry figures as one of the most important worldwide aluminum consumer. A detailed knowledge of the raw material used in the beverage can body production is essential to maintain and improve the productivity levels imposed by the market. It is on this point that the present work focus, in the micro structural and mechanical characterization of three different AA 3104-H19 rolled coils, to be able to compare them in search of similarities and discrepancies. Their chemical compositions were analyzed by energy dispersion (EDS), and atomic absorption (AA) spectrometry, their micro structures were identified by optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. Their mechanical properties were described by tensile tests, Erichsen tests, forming limit curves (FLC), micro hardness Vickers tests, and surface roughness tests (Ra). The anisotropy coefficient R, also known as Lankford´s R, and the strain hardening exponent n were calculated using the results and specimens of the tensile tests. In addition, their crystallographic textures were analyzed by orientation distribution functions and pole figures. The experiment s results showed a strong similarity among all three rolled sheets, their properties differing only subtly. On average the yield strength of all three was found to be 265 MPa, their ultimate tensile strength 285 MPa. Elongation was very similar for all three, around 4.7%. The strain hardening exponent n averaged 0.078, a value comparable to some found in literature. The normal (R) and planar (UR) anisotropy values were found to be 0.77 and 0.22, respectively, indicating a slight tendency to form ears at 45o and good deep drawing formability. The microstructure analysis of all three sheets revealed two kinds of intermetallic compounds with distinct morphology, Al6(Fe,Mn) and Al12(Fe,Mn)3Si, not scattered homogeneously, together with well distributed dispersoids in the aluminum matrix. The crystallographic texture of the three sheets also exhibited similarities; all had the same dominant components with comparable intensities. On all three it was possible to notice that the typical strain hardening textures, Brass {110}<112> and Copper {112}<111>, together with Goss {110}<001>, were balanced by the Cube {001}<100> component, typical of recrystallization. The notable differences found could be summarized in slightly higher mechanical properties for one of the sheets and smaller and less widespread intermetallic compounds for another.

Taxa ótima de hedge no mercado futuro de dólar comercial brasileiro

The aim of this thesis is to compare the performance of multivariate models of volatility (BEKK, Rismetrics, CCC, DCC, cDCC) using normal distribution and t-student and different configurations for the variance equation (APARCH, FIAPARCH, FIGARCH, GARCH, GJR, HYGARH, IGARCH) for the estimation of hegde optimal exchange rate R $ / US $ inside and outside the sample for the period from 01/01/2001 to 12/31/2018. In addition, a theoretical and empirical bibliographic review on the estimation of the optimal hedge rate is carried out. The results indicate similar performance among all the models used when compared using the reduction of variance of the portfolio with protection in comparison to the situation without hedge.

Intervenções contemporâneas em patrimônio edificado: obras do arquiteto Nelson Dupré

This study seeks to examine the contemporary interventions adopted by architect Nelson Carlos Lauson Dupré, in built heritage in the city of São Paulo. The objective of this work is to analyze the projective postures from his following works: Brazilian Cinematheque - Old Slaughterhouse of Vila Mariana (1887) and the São Paulo Room at Júlio Prestes Station (1938). In the case studies presented will be analyzed the contemporary strategies adopted by the architect in the ambit of the preservation and conservation of the built heritage. The method used employs bibliographic surveys, analyzes and reflections regarding the theories, concepts, recommendations applied in interventions, such as: the preservation, conservation and restoration of built heritage demonstrated through the Heritage Letters and texts that contributed to the practice of heritage preservation. The other phases of the method refer to field surveys and consultation of the collection with the author of the projects. The results of this investigation may assist other research and projects in the area of interventions in overturned buildings.

Musicking Aymara and Quechua immigrants translocalities in São Paulo

Walking through some streets and squares in São Paulo City, on Sundays throughout the year and on days of Bolivian community feast, we go through altiplanic locations (Appadurai 1996) built three thousand kilometers away from the Andean Highland. Thousands of Bolivian Andean transmigrants rework their cultural and emotional dynamics through the creation of transnational (Glick-Schiller, Basch & Szanton 1992), commercial and symbolic networks. Also through indigenous music (Small 1998), especially the musical practice of Aymara and Quechua repertoire and players, the affective structures that constitute and affirm performatically and synesthetically indigenous highland locations are strengthened. Through theoretical and ethnographic articulation with an anthropological and ethnomusicological basis, we seek to reflect on how the Centro Cultural Kollasuyo Maya, an autochthonous group of Aymara and Quechua formation, by activating and integrating networks between indigenous people and collectives, immigrants and paulistanos, is musicalizing and locating the Bolivian Andean Highland in São Paulo.

The research methodologies that analyze social relations at the local level may be the same as those that think the social relations at the global level. This epistemological principle is the basis for understanding (and for the proposal to overcome) the gaps generated by the knowledge production of International Relations, discipline which successfully claims the monopoly of analysis on “the international” in the academic field. It is from this idea that the present article intends to present elements that contribute to the construction and consolidation of a “sociology of international relations”. This text is a fragment of the recently completed doctoral thesis on the field of Brazilian diplomats. Here we present the Bourdieusian definition of State as a metafield and the sketch of the definition of the field of international relations. From this, we suggest an initial exercise to think what can be a sociology of international relations, thus proposing the opening for future research

The present article seeks to delineate and debate the hypothesis of the Latin American importance for the Asian recentralization – or reorientalization – in the world-system. From the longue durée (the long term theory), it seeks to present the duality of a millenary world-system centered on Asia and the rise of an European world-system in the sixteenth century. Thus, the Asian peripherization before the apogee of the European capitalist world-system from the Industrial Revolution begins to be reversed in the late twentieth century, whose gravitational axis is rescentralized to Southeast Asia, influenced by China. In the context of the twentieth first century, the importance of Latin America in this process is present, evidenced by the growing Chinese presence in political, economic and commercial relations with Latin American countries

Geopolitical strategy and class hegemony: towards a historical materialist foreign policy analysis: [trad. de Caio Bugiato]

This article seeks to lay the groundwork for a historical materialist foreign policy analysis. Although there is a huge Marxist literature on especially US imperialism, there is little in the way of systematic empirical research on foreign policy-making from this perspective. Most contributions in this tradition, including more recent ones in the debate on the “new imperialism” are often rather abstract exercises in grand theory – important and insightful but not necessarily directly amenable to empirical research. On the other hand, the radical empirical studies of (US) foreign policy-making that we do have often tend to suffer from a lack of adequate theorization. Seeking to bridge this gap this article first critically reviews the current (and expanding) historical materialist literature on geopolitics (and its link to global capitalism) and then seeks to move beyond that by offering an analytical framework that can be applied to actual empirical research. A theoretical point of departure is that what Harvey identifies as the territorial and capitalist logics of powers are dialectically and hence internally related. But whereas many historical materialists would agree on this abstract notion, the question, however, is not only why but also how (in practice) they are thus related, and how we can thus study the effects of this internal relation. For this, I argue, we need to go beyond positing any abstract logic(s), and analyse the concrete agency of social forces constituting the link between state and capital. I argue that class is the crucial mediating force here and the missing link in much of the literature. A focus on class and class strategy provides us with a basis for a systematic empirical analysis of the concrete processes through which geopolitical strategies of (major) capitalist states are formulated and implemented
