Indirect anaphora and meaning production in compositions of Basic Education
This paper deals with reference process, specially the one that is constituted implicitly, made of indirect anaphors in compositions of students from Basic Education. Based on studies from the field of Textual Linguistics, as Mondada e Dubois (2003), Koch (2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006), Marcuschi (2003, 2005, 2007) e Schwarz (2007) do, we aim to analyze the contribution of indirect anaphors to build meaning. The corpus of this work is composed of thirty-five compositions from students at the eighth grade (nine year nowadays) to analyze this process. Considering the analyzed data, the writers of the texts make use of implicitly references, taking the reader/listener to process meaning.

The processes of neuronal and recycling under the bias of implicit learning: literacy methods in focus
Based on advances in neuroscience and literature resulting from these advances, this text reflects on the acquisition of writing, specifically on methods of phonetic and global literacy, under the scope of implicit and explicit learning, in the acquisition of human language, essentially complex and arbitrary. This process will occur through the recuperation of the notion of connectionist learning and understanding of implicit and explicit. This theoretical recuperation arisen from discoveries of neuroscience enables better understanding of the elaboration of the famous discussion of the methods of alfabetization: phonetic method versus global method (or method of the complete word).

Argumentation in religious prayers
This paper seeks to analyze the argumentation in religious prayers of knowledge made available by the Theory of Semantic Blocks, developed by Ducrot and Carel. Such an argument seems to be precious because of the man's submission to God that appears in the prayers analyzed and can therefore be so well seen from the language itself, from the speaker's own way of referring to the interlocutor, regardless of context. Thus, once again it is proved that the meaning emerges from the words used in certain argumentative threads.

THE TRAGIC-METAPHORIC CONSTITUTION OF THE BACKWOODS IN THE NOVEL SARGENTO GETÚLIO BY JOÃO UBALDO RIBEIRO
This article aims analyze the metaphoric relationship constituted between the backwoods and the character Getúlio in the novel Sargento Getúlio, by João Ubaldo Ribeiro, as constituent elements of the tragic conflict established in the plot. In Sargento Getúlio we can understand the likeness between the setting and the character starting from the moment we analyzed both as an existent metaphoric symbiosis in the tragic conflict. Through the metaphors of backwoods and the character, it’s possible an understanding of the process of the man's humanization in the environment.

The construction of meaning in the computer or the computer at all: what is it?
Abstract : This paper proposes to conduct a theoretical construct about the formation of meaning in texts in digital environments. In this way, it proposes the initial reflection presenting the esthesic involvement of the subject as the constitutor element of meaning in the digital environment. Another aspect that is presented as an initial hypothesis of sense in this context is the element paratextual. For an initial questioning, it started from a theoretical basis (Flusser, Johnson, Genette). The analysis of cases allowed realizing that the esthesic involvement of the subject with the text occurs differently in the digital print environment. Another factor in the construction of meaning in the digital environment is the location of the elements paratextuals from the linguistic point of the printed text and digital text. If in that they are viewed as accessories, they pass these to be constituted as textual elements. Finally, it attempts to indicate a path to think the computer to beyond the instrumental view of the tool.

Music, language, cognition and learning: psycholinguistic interfaces for literacy
The article has support in Psycholinguistics and their interfaces with the art (specifically music), language (especially foreign languages), cognition (notably the functioning of the brain and language awareness) and education (particularly the initial learning of reading and writing). This paper presents the theoretical basis about music, foreign language and linguistic awareness and it also exposes opportunities for linguistic exploration of songs in different languages, thus contributing to the development of reading and writing in literacy classes.

The act of reading and teacher training in distance education
Courses that turn out graduates via Distance Education contemporaneously tend to require greater proficiency in reading for students, given that the interaction processes of mediation in the appropriation of knowledge of written language is prevalent. It is therefore a process focused on the reader, because content and procedures need to be read. This article focuses on some implications of this training process guided by the written language and therefore the act of reading, for which it is essential that students be proficient in reading comprehension in several genres, so that they can construct meaning of the contents read, appropriating concepts and methods that enable them to act in a consistent manner in the profession. This discussion assumes greater importance as institutional indicators (Pisa, Inaf) show that Brazil has not consolidated a tradition in shaping readers of more elaborate texts, signaling for a student not accustomed to more complex reading material, which require greater abstraction. The formation of this reader, in our understanding, demands consideration that the appropriation of the written language is a cultural process, such states Gee (2004), and appears to have expressive implications in the appropriation of knowledge through a process of Distance Education prevalently anchored in reading.

Eye-Tracking and Linguistics: Applications and Interfaces
This work was developed to give an overview of the operation, uses and applications of Eye-Tracking in the field of Linguistics. Studies are carried out in PUCRS, in Brazil and in the world, with the use of this technology to investigate the perception, comprehension and processing of the language, as well as the design of the interfaces in which these studies are developed. Eye-Tracking promotes the interaction of different areas of knowledge in the unfolding of complex cognitive processes by recording eye movements during activities such as reading, picture observation and moving scenes. Fixations, pauses, regressions and any details of the behavior of the eyes during the actions are recorded, allowing the researcher to make an accurate analysis of the human linguistic processing.

The critical reception of the opera in the fiction of Nélida Piñon
This article analyzes how Nelida Piñon makes a critical reception of the opera by Giuseppe Verdi in the novel A força do destino (1977). This masterpiece highlights the role of the contemporary writer, since a classic is read from a post-modern place. In the intertextual relationship, the reception of the opera is explored as a cultural archive. Methodologically, we analyze the artistic intertextuality from the feminist place of the Brazilian writer. Taking the parodic game between opera and romance as a starting point, the irreverence of this postmodern metanarrative can be identified. Keywords: intertextuality, metanarrativity, postmodern.

Little prince or little prince? A linguistic-cultural interface from the functionalist perspective
In the light of the functionalist theory of Christiane Nord (1991), this article aims to analyze linguistic cultural markers in the translations of Le petit prince (1946) for Brazilian Portuguese, titled The Little Prince (2003), and for European Portuguese, titled O Little prince (2008). Considering that translation is a communicative situation in which two cultural contexts are involved - from the source text and the recipient - the result must be a functional text for its context of reception and suited to the purposes of the translation task.

A prototypical analysis of the direct object
This work aims to describe the morphological, syntactic and semantic traits that define the prototype of the direct object in written texts of Brazilian Portuguese, through the analysis of 100 essays by the Vestibular Competition UFRGS (2007). This approach is based on the descriptive model of Perini (1989), which proposes the representation of classes, functions and grammatical processes through matrices of distinctive traits. The fundamental hypotheses of this work are expressed in a matrix that includes morphological, syntactic and semantic traits. As for the morphological traits, we consider name, pronoun, sentence and null object. As regards the syntactic traits, apassivation, position filling between the verb and the object and standard V (verb) + O (object). In relation to semantic traits, we consider the thematic roles of theme, agent, causer of experience, product and time. We proceeded to the collection and classification of 1,309 data in the texts under analysis, taking as a target sentence declarative, principal and subordinate sentences. In this way, we raise the percentages of employment of each trait. The results of the trait frequencies point to the following characteristics of the direct object prototype in Brazilian Portuguese: morphologically, [+ name]; Syntactically [+ standard VO, - position filling V_O]; And semantically, [+ theme].

A revision on the contest about Seneca's influence upon Shakespeare
This article aims toward a revision on the problematic contest about Seneca's influence upon Shakespeare and the Elizabethan dramatists from its own historiography. From general assumptions on this matter is reviewed how it was historically treated, recurring between utterly favorable or unfavorable arguments among the different methodological approaches. Started at the end of the 19th century, with John W. Cunliffe and his Seneca and The Elizabethan Tragedy (1893), that by means of parallels passages, established one kind of debit among the authors that lasts throughout the 20th century. Over the time the common elements have been studied and in the meantime the discussion has reached the opposite extreme by proposing the denial of Seneca's influence with Howard Baker (1939) and G. K. Hunter (1967 and 1974). Later, new ways of thinking about this issue have emerged revealing the complexity of the matter, generally reduced to a simple acceptation of Seneca's influence upon Shakespeare's tragic work and leaving out the contemporary dramatists as well as the theatrical forms that preceded it.
