Lavoura arcaica: discursos em confronto
This work makes an aesthetic and social reflection of the work of art and its aspects by means of the study of the adaptation of the book Lavoura Arcaica for the cinema. Its main proposals are: to study the mechanisms of transposition of a language for another one, thinking about the hierarchies of artistic prestige that these possess, the symbolic and aesthetic values that if revert in social and marketing values e, still, until point valued literary texts critically for the tradition can transmit values to other ways and languages, as the cinema and the television, through its adaptations. One also argues which the limits to think about adaptations fiduciary offices to the text-source and as these attitudes can denote pretensions and validates on the part of the adapters.

Many studies have been done looking for new applications become viable for the ash of rice husks micronized. These studies include the use of this material as a reinforcing filler in elastomeric compounds to substitute other materials, to promote better mechanical performance such as tensile strength at break, hardness, elongation, and reduce the cost. The objective of this study was to obtain and characterize the elastomeric compounds based on EPDM and carbon black as filler and different concentrations of black ash of rice husks micronized and compare their performance with elastomeric compounds based on EPDM containing only black as filler smoke. The elastomer was processed in a calender with the respective filler, processing aids, plasticizers and curing system. After processing by calendering, the elastomeric compound has been tested that includes the rheological and rheometry testing by Dynamic Mechanical Thermal Analysis (DMTA). These tests showed, respectively, the parameters of speed of healing and glass transition temperature (Tg). Subsequently the material was cured in a hydraulic press with heating. To test resistance to oil, the specimens were immersed in ASTM oil 3 to measure the percentage of swelling. Were also performed mechanical tests of compression permanent deformation (compression set), tensile strength, tear strength, resilience and hardness Shore A. Through the results, it was observed that the addition of black ash rice hulls in the compounds modifies the glass transition temperature (Tg), but practically does not change the rheology during vulcanization. Compounds containing 20% black ash of rice husks showed better mechanical properties of tensile strength, tear strength and elongation. For higher concentrations, there is only the behavior of the filler. The addition of ash from rice hulls black also increases the hardness and improved oil swelling resistance and reduces permanent deformation to compression and resiliency.

The Brazilian educational policy is based on the assumption that the school is the main mechanism for the development of a democratic and egalitarian society. The affirmative action in the educational area with a view to promoting equity and social inclusion of disadvantaged and discriminated populations are endorsed by this initiative. On the assumption that the dynamics of the relationships experienced in the University context, if marked by prejudices and discrimination, can influence the education of indigenous students and the effectiveness of the affirmative policies, this study was developed in order to understand the dynamics of in(ex)clusion perceived by indigenous students from the Federal University of Tocantins (UFT). The research occurred in two steps: the investigative documentary research and the fieldwork. The technique used for the evaluation of the interviews was the analysis of the contents, from which came the six thematic categories which constitute the dynamics of the in(ex)clusion. They are: 1) aspects of the indigenous identity; 2) walking in both worlds; 3) dynamics of relationships at the University; 4) the importance of attending College; 5) the causes of dropouts; and 6) militant profile and the expectation of professional performance. The dynamics of in(ex)inclusion perceived by indigenous students is inextricably linked to the particular cosmology of each indigenous people, resulting from experiences before the admission of these subjects at the University. Furthermore, such dynamics is marked by prejudices, discrimination and hostility from non-indigenous, which constitute elements more of exclusion than of inclusion. We were also able to see, based on reports from indigenous students and on other studies, that the quotas policies for admissions in IESP alone do not guarantee the professional training of indigenous students and their inclusion. The contribution of this study stays in the theoretical and empirical field, in the expansion of knowledge about management of inclusion and diversity, specifically in public policies of affirmative actions towards a College education for the indigenous students, because there are a limited number of systematized and published information about selection, admission, permanence and education of indigenous students.

Gestão metropolitana e o papel do município periférico: Itapecerica da Serra
Itapecerica da Serra is a county located 33 km from São Paulo within an enviromental protection area. Its origin dates back to the XVII century, during the jesuitic settlelment. Its urban characteristics were preserved until the second half of the XX century, when it was influenced by the process of metropolization, which was extended to most counties in Grande São Paulo. As a consequence, the county went through deep changes: the irregular occupation of the soil, the urban violence, the unemployment and the sudden growth of population, clear features of this process. Like many others, the county was not prepared to face these problems, so it became dependent of other government bodies for referring its problems. It is necessary to understand that the situation the county of Itapecerica is going through is not its own exclusivity, it is a historical consequence of the centralizing model established by the Portuguese state, when Brazil was settled. Understanding this model is learning about a primitive pattern of administration which, along the centuries, developed according to the interests and culture of the central governments to which they were subordinated. In Brazil, the Portuguese model that was implemented supported itself in the metropolis interests in settling and mainly expanding its wealth. This way, the Brazilian county is still an instrument working for the maintenance of power in a certain way. For this reason, it is possible to understand why this space, which is the only federate entity consisted of territory, people and government is not, has never been and will never be a complete federate entity in the short term, according to what has been established in the constitution of 1988. Therefore, the management instruments which have been created in the last years, such as the tax liability law and the city act, under the justification of establishing a new paradigm for the public administration, mainly for the county, are actually not instruments with enough power to change the reality of penury in which the counties, especially the ones located in the metropolitan areas, live. These are counties which shelter the most underpriviledged population of the country. They are satellites of the great metropolis, which relate to those in a constant movement of flow and counterflow, having no condition to react before the new demands. This way, the Brazilian county, weakest part of the federalism, depend on other entities for its political and administrative survival. It is dependent on financial transfers which concentrate mainly in the hands of the federal government and is also subject to political matters, once the prioritizing of public investments main criteria is based on the party, rather than on the real necessity of the county. Taking this model into consideration, we can get to a conclusion that the low urban quality of our cities results historically from this dependent descentralization process. As a solution, we get back to discuss the city as a democratic area of full public participation, in the patterns of Aristotle and Socrates s Greek polis, which take the participation of the population in the decisions on the city routes as the main management instrument in the city transformation. In order to get there, experiences such as the participative budget, the hydrographic Basin Committees and the Director Plan of Districts have appeared. These don t change the status quo of the federalism, taking advantage of the county autonomy conquered in the constitution of 1988 to creatively search ways for a more effective administration of our cities.

The aim of this study was to develop an analytical model of full stochastic programming, grounded on the Real Options Theory (ROT) for the analysis of the value of the investment opportunity in project to implement Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. The proposed model is a modified extension of Wu et al. (2008), incorporating the possibility of a catastrophic event (or contingent event), as discussed in Schwartz and Zozaya-Gorostiza (2003). While a programming and stochastic optimization model, it is inserted in the context of Operational Research, whose nature, as the name implies, is the use of analytical scientific method to address operational problems in organizations. The managerial flexibility of the model was treated as a real option, in which there is the right, but not the obligation, to perform an action (for instance, postpone, expand, contract or abandon. The strategic decision concerned the possibility of purchasing and implementing the system as a whole package or through modules. Revenue estimates for the project were modeled as a stochastic process of the Geometric Brownian Motion type, while costs were modeled as a function of the characteristics of each cash outflow type, resulting in the choice of a probability distribution. The model uses Latin hypercube simulation to obtain the expected values of the parameters for generating a decision tree that guides the optimization process. Given the parameters and constraints of the model, the optimization searches for the optimal investment decision. Considering the model configuration and parameters adopted, the figures indicate that the process of purchasing and implementing the modules result in an optimal decision for the value of the investment opportunity. Furthermore, the sensitivity analysis of the parameters allowed the identification of the most sensitive parameters in the model that need careful analysis, to avoid distortions in the projections.

The main objective of this study was to investigate the perception and contribution of the managers of Controller s Department to sustainability in a retail, fashion and consumer electronics industry. The research fits into the business environment in which sustainability is increasingly present in the strategic agenda of corporate executives due to greater stakeholder engagement regarding socially responsible organizations attitude as a theme. In this intent, we posed the following research question: how is the adoption of sustainability based on the triple bottom line model influencing the practices of the Controller s Department of the company? Thus, for conducting this research, it has been assumed that the economic view is the prevailing one in the functions of the Controller s Department and managers are still unclear about the contribution of the management in the social and environmental aspects. Therefore, to achieve the research objectives, we proceeded with analysis of the literature on the topic of sustainability and Controllership. The typology of this research is exploratory with qualitative approach because it aimed to investigate how sustainability is influencing the Controller s Department and the contribution of managers by adopting the theme. The method used was case study. The sample was selected by the criterion of accessibility and processing of data was done through content analysis. The research findings indicate that sustainability issue still needs further understanding of the managers of Controller s Department in their conceptual, procedural and organizational aspects; which is the economic view that prevails in the functions and activities of managers.
