This master's thesis is formed by a critical and poetic analysis of the work of the contemporary artist Nazareno Rodrigues and author’s own work, mainly considering the intersection of its multiple languages in the context of visual arts; by the creation of a series of drawings in sewing, in dialogue with one of the works of the mentioned artist; by the development of an art research methodology; and by a relational analysis with Italo Calvino's book Six proposals for the new millennium. The critical analysis includes a theoretical part, divided in quantitative and qualitative analysis, with the development of an unpublished methodology of research. The poetic analysis includes the elaboration of an art exposition, in dialogue with one of the works of Nazarene and with the book of Calvin. The reflection on the work of Nazareno Rodrigues, Carolina Vigna and Italo Calvino is relational, intersemiotic and interdependent. The conclusion produced both a theoretical reflection and the revision of the author's artistic production.

This works looks into the fundamentals of the private pension system in Brazil. Studies the evolution of social security, enphasizing the political, social and economic aspects. Aims to demonstrate the importance of pension funds in the development of national domestic saving and improving the living conditions for the population.

In the current economic scene, where the changes are fast and constant, the importance of a differentiated performance of the companies is evidenced by the increasing interest in the intangible assets. The innovation process confers to the companies singular ways to compete. The pharmaceutical sector presents caracteristics, sending to the profile of organizations directed to innovation process as a way to keep than competitive in this industry. Thus, the object of study of this research is operating pharmaceutical laborories in the national scope. In this study a panel data was carried through 1995 to 2005 to analyse possible relations between the performance and intangible assets of the investigated companies, represented for the amout of proper, generic and similar medicines. The results demonstrate significant and positive relations between the revenue and the amout proper medicines and the generic ones, maybe it can explain the performance of the laboratories in search to extend as a way to compete in the national pharmaceutical industry.

O objetivo do presente artigo científico é propor uma reflexão acerca dos avanços da biomedicina na área da fertilização in vitro e as complicações que podem ser causadas na esfera humanística e jurídica, especificamente no caso da técnica de reprodução humana assistida denominada “irmãos salvadores”, ou ainda, “bebês-medicamento”, propondo uma discussão e reflexão acerca de em que medida os desenvolvimentos tecnológicos na área da manipulação genética tem o condão de interferir, positivamente ou negativamente, na vida humana, contrapondo o favorecimento das descobertas clínicas para o cuidado da vida, em face dos preceitos da bioética e da dignidade humana, sob o olhar da proteção a dignidade humana e ao direito do livre planejamento família.

The concept of digital platform emerges as one of the major axes of innovation in recent years, and has been developed and deployed in various sectors of the economy, both for startups as by large companies. In this paper we propose the creation and deployment of a digital platform applied to the marketing of flowers and ornamental plants in a cooperative. The opportunity to explore this new business model emerged from the need to provide cooperative producers greater transparency, lower transaction costs and low levels of losses during the sales process of their products. To this end, a study on the cooperative market scenario that resulted in the diagnosis of marketing situation of ornamental products in the Brazilian market, from which it was possible to recognize more clearly potential gains from the new business opportunity. The new business model represents an innovation for ornamental flowers, in order to create competitive advantage both to members and to the cooperative, once the deployment of digital B2B platform for both sides in this segment, is unprecedented in Brazil. The originality of the new model brought major challenges in your deployment, these challenges relating to the inherent complexity to the perishability of the products marketed and initial behavior of producers, which were supplanted by the high effort and transactional capacity of managers of the cooperative and the first results obtained with the new model. In the study, the steps followed for the creation and deployment of the digital platform by the cooperative, their contributions and learnings for the marketing of flowers and ornamental plants, as well as opportunities to extend and apply the new model in other segments of perishable products of the agricultural market, especially those operated by mid-sized organizations, such as the co-op studied at work.

Compitiendo con los medios de comunicación convencionales, los blogs se han consolidado como medios enunciadores de la actualidad informativa. Actualmente, vemos cómo este soporte, una vez incorporado en la prensa digital, se utiliza para varios propósitos: de manera complementaria a la información propuesta como “plato fuerte” noticioso y como foro de debate, de crítica abierta, para que los usuarios comenten sobre determinado aspecto de interés social, político, económico o cultural. El examen del blog periodístico, desde la perspectiva de los estudios lingüísticos, trae a la luz, entre otras cuestiones, la de los efectos de sentido generados, que adquiere más relevancia debido a que este género constituye la intersección de otros dos preexistentes: el blog personal, subjetivo y familiar, y el periodístico, que busca transmitir la impresión de objetividad e imparcialidad. Insertada en la línea de investigación Procedimientos de constitución de los sentidos del discurso y del texto, que incluye el área de concentración de Estudios Lingüísticos del Programa de Posgrado en Letras de la Universidad Presbiteriana Mackenzie, la presente investigación tiene por objetivo el análisis del blog periodístico Cartas desde Cuba, perteneciente al periódico digital BBC Mundo entre los años 2008 y 2014. Desde la perspectiva de la semiótica greimasiana, el estudio se centra en las estrategias que producen efectos de sentido de imparcialidad en el blog antes mencionado, ya que, al atacar ora al gobierno cubano, ora a sus opositores, fue cuestionado por no mostrar una posición firme respecto a la situación política de Cuba. Las estrategias encontradas corroboran las previstas en los fundamentos teóricos, de orden discursivo (relacionadas con los componentes sintáctico y semántico de nivel discursivo) y de orden textual (referidas a la cuestión de la intertextualidad y la interdiscursividad)

This investigation conducted with people with acquired blindness sought the meaning of leisure to them, through interviews based on questionnaires compounded by an item of identification and eight questions leading to open answers. This same paper was based on Marcellino (1983, 1987, 1995, 2006) and his reflections on leisure as an experienced culture during an available time, Dumazedler (1973, 1980), focusing leisure on interests, and Blascovi-Assis (1997) who emphasizes the needed awareness of society as far as changing the universe of leisure. Making reference to visual impairment one sought to be based in authors such as Masini (1994, 2007), who discusses the importance of considering the person s perceptual referential with no sight, instead of comparing them with sighted people; on Palva (2005) and the resolution adopted by the International Council of Sidney about the related terms on visual impairment; on Farias and Buchalia (2005), who brought DSM-10 and FIC contributions (WHO 2003), complementing DSM-10 when tracing a functioning description. This work objective was to investigate the meaning of leisure to 10 people with acquired blindness and register how leisure activities have been occurring to this public, as well as verify the facilitating aspects and barriers to this experience. The guideline was analyzing if leisure activities propitiate well-being to people who acquired blindness. The interviews analysis happened in four phases: close reading of each participant s answers related to each question; classification in categories; answers categorization in charts; reflection on the data in the charts. The data analyzed showed that leisure to the subjects in the research means a possibility of well-being, by themselves or with others, once they do not feel unable to enjoy activities of such nature, since they consider the same activities as possible as they could be to the ones without visual impairment.

O financiamento de campanhas eleitorais no Brasil por empresas públicas e privadas enseja muitos debates em razão da prática da corrupção e da prática do “caixa dois” pelos partidos políticos. Assim, o presente estudo analisou a eficácia da alteração de modelos de financiamento de campanha eleitoral como solução para inibir ingressos de recursos financeiros ilegais e ilícitos na disputa eleitoral, bem como a celebração de contratos prévios com o Poder Público. Para tanto, como metodologia empregou-se a pesquisa bibliográfica em livros, artigos e legislações pertinentes à temática abordada. Ao final do estudo concluiu-se que a legislação brasileira ficou mais severa em todos os aspectos, no entanto, ainda é carente de punições mais incisivas aos atos ilícitos, seja de eles praticados por doadores ou competidores. Além do mais, também permanece carecendo de medidas que tornem os pleitos eleitorais mais igualitários financeiramente, já que o atual modelo beneficia os grandes doadores, em detrimento das doações menores ou pulverizadas. Os recursos financeiros têm impacto significativo nas campanhas eleitorais e, portanto, torná-las mais justas e igualitárias deveria ser a meta principal a ser enfrentada pelo legislador.

Este trabalho apresenta a pesquisa teórica e as atividades realizadas para a produção de um livro-reportagem sobre a violência sexual dentro de relacionamentos amorosos. O produto coloca em evidência dez relatos sobre estupro conjugal e seu objetivo é ressaltar as percepções sobre o crime, tanto da própria vítima, quanto daqueles ao seu redor. O estupro, um crime já bastante silenciado, é ainda mais descreditado quando acontece dentro de casa. A narrativa se utiliza dos relatos de dez mulheres vítimas dessa violência e se divide em oito capítulos com temas comuns entre as personagens. Os relatos demonstram dificuldade de identificar a violência, relacionamentos conflituosos com a família e abusos psicológicos. Para fundamentar a pesquisa, foram utilizados livros, artigos e reportagens sobre o tema. Dentre eles, os principais autores foram: Edvaldo Pereira Lima, Cremilda Medina, Eduardo Belo e pesquisadores do Instituto de Pesquisa Econômica Aplicada (IPEA). Além de entrevistas com uma psicóloga e uma advogada especializadas em abuso sexual intrafamiliar e Lei Maria da Penha, respectivamente. Essas conversas esclareceram a situação jurídica desfavorável para essas mulheres e as condições psicológicas em que elas se encontram. O livro-reportagem permitiu que as fontes fossem retratadas de forma anônima e que suas histórias fossem contadas com profundidade.

This study aimed to reflect on the effectiveness of Jobs Reservation in public tenders, while affirmative action policy, directed to the segment of the population with disabilities; on the relationship between education / schooling and the job market for people with disabilities from the comparison of results obtained in the competitions for candidates with and without disabilities who competed for positions of Analyst and Judicial Technician - Administrative Area (from Federal Justice and Labor Justice), made in the period of 2010- 2014, taking as research environment, the (34) results of related public tenders, conducted by Carlos Chagas Foundation. Specific objectives were defined based on the (421) municipal, state and federal public tenders conducted from 2000 to 2014: check the evolution of people with disabilities participation; map and characterize, by sex and age, the overall demand for candidates with and without disabilities; Federal Decree # 3298/1999 was analyzed with regard to book places in public tenders, seeking to trace their changes over the years, due to the actions of civil society and public prosecutor. Among 34 selected public tenders, identified the type of disability and the type of adaptation required by the candidate to do the examinations, which allowed us to outline the profile of candidates with disabilities who participated and those who have succeeded along the public tenders. The results showed that despite the legal standard to provide 5% reservation of seats offered, the participation of people with disabilities is low, reaching only 1% in 2013; even if the disabled candidates competing for the total vacancies in dispute, and concomitantly the reserved places, the population ends up competing with each other, therefore, based on the classification of these candidates, it appears that performance on tests is much less than expected to compete in wide competition, bringing up the issue of this population the quality of education in relation to other students. Among the candidates with disabilities, which were approved in public tenders, only 3% would have been approved if there were not reserved places. Among those who are enabled, due to reserved openings, most have mild disability that does not require any kind of adaptation to perform the examination. For the candidate with most severe disabilities, it appears that in 34 public tenders done in five years, among the qualified ones in the general list, only three individuals were blind, two wheelchair users and, there was no deaf candidate. Data, which confirms the need to monitor and evaluate the educational inclusion policies as well as the one geared to the job market, as we are aware such action has not been able to support people with more severe disabilities, who would be the main recipients of this policy.

Objective of the work: the general objective of this work is to identify, in the financial statements of the Brazilian companies that compose the Midlarge Cap index - MLCX, (based on data provided in July 2020) listed on the Stock Exchange, B3, the evolution of tax contingencies based on the analysis of some companies' financial indicators during the 2006- 2019 period, especially the indexes that take into account the companies’ level of indebtedness, which directly demonstrates the eventual growth of tax causes. Methodology: to develop the study, the descriptive quantitative methodology was chosen, since a large amount of data regarding the information extracted from the financial statements was analyzed. The sample of companies was also divided into smaller groups (separated by sectors) for the contingency evolution study. The data was used in the calculation of the economic indexes considering the inclusion of tax contingencies in each scenario. it analyzes ed a large mass of data corresponding to the information extracted from the financial statements, as well as analyzed it in smaller groups (separation by sectors), the evolution of contingencies. Results: the main results show an increase in tax contingencies in the group of the companies analyzed, with emphasis on the Communication sector, Non-cyclical Consumption, Basic Materials and Oil and Gas. Practical implications: the main issued that should be addressed is the indication of the tax contingency level of the selected companies, defining a parameter for other companies in the market, including the use of financial indexes. Besides, the results presented tend to corroborate the risk that the tax causes may generate in the companies and their results, because there was a relevant growth of tax contingencies in the last years and a considerable amount of such values are not booked for being classified as possible loss, specially due to the indecision that remains over some themes in discussion in the Brazilian courts. Originality and Contributions: the study of tax contingencies applied to the Brazilian scenario with contribution to future researches related to the theme. The study brought up the main causes that make the companies receive Infraction Notices from the Brazilian revenue service through the analysis of some companies’ financial statements’ notes and reference forms. Also, the evolution of such contingencies and the determining factors that make them keep growing and remain in the analyzed companies’ financial statements.

SIS (susceptible-infected-susceptible) and SIR (susceptible-infectedremoved) epidemiological models based on probabilistic cellular automaton (PCA) are used in order to simulate the temporal evolution of the number of people infected by dengue in the city of Rio de Janeiro in 2007, and to predict the cases of infection in 2008. In the PCA, three different sizes of lattices and two kinds of neighborhoods are utilized, and each time step of simulation is equivalent to one week of real time. A genetic algorithm (GA) is employed to identify the probabilities of the state transition S→I, in order to reproduce the historical series of 2007 related to this disease propagation. These probabilities depend on the number of infected neighbors. Time-varying and constant probabilities are taken into account. These models based on PCA and GA were able of satisfactorily fitting the data from 2007 and making a good prediction for 2008 (mainly about the total number of cases registered during 2008).

Nonlinear effects are essential for the construction of photonic devices such as modulators, optical switches and frequency converters. Aiming at the development of devices for optical frequency conversion and the generation of nonclassical states of light in photonic chips, this thesis presents the design and simulation of a frequency converter based on second harmonic generation controlled by static electric field in a silicon nitride ring resonator. The developed simulation appraises conversion efficiencies up to -8.25 dB with the advantage to provide an electrical interface to control the conversion. Optical fiber based devices are also within the scope of the thesis and a new technique is presented for manufacturing optical fibers with enhanced nonlinear response by the presence of metallic gold nanoparticles. The manufactured fibers are based on silica that is doped with aluminum and gold in the core, offering full compatibility and integration with conventional optical fibers. The nanoparticles were created by annealing in an oven or by heating with a CO2 laser beam, which offers unprecedented control over particle size and density in optical fibers. Compared to previously reported fibers with gold nanoparticles, higher concentration of nanoparticles were obtained which was estimated by the plasmonic absorption peak exceeding 800 dB/m and by a consequent increasing in the nonlinear refractive index of at least 50x under continuous wave excitation, achieving values of n2=(6,75±0,55)×10-15 m²/W. The development of these fibers and the design of the on chip frequency converter provide platforms for the development of efficient and integrated devices in fiber based optical systems and in photonic chips.
