Small towns, vast urban problems: the reality of São Sebastião da Amoreira, Brazil
Urban problems exist since when the first capitalist cities appeared, especially because of its unfairness. For this reason, one of the main objectives of this research is show the Brazilian small towns has similar or even bigger problems than big cities, since they are in the same model of urbanization. Thus, this research demystify the perspective of small towns like spaces without urban problems and that only major centers have absence of health services, education, income generation, security, among others problems. The study happens at a small town called São Sebastião da Amoreira, located in the hinterland of Paraná’s State. The survey brings the main urban problems of the city, pointed out by local inhabitants, history and by demographic and socials indicators. For this, have been used these research methods: bibliographic and date survey, application of questionnaires with city’s population, descriptive researches and photographic records about the essential urban problems. The intense carelessness with the city resulted in many urban problems and the most considered by society were: health services, asphaltic infrastructure and absence of creation of jobs. Therefore, it is concluded that population give up of reside in the city that has been facing a demographic emptying.

Dialectics and Complexity in Socio-Environmental Issues
Through the lens of Dialectics, reality is seen by movement, contradictions, qualitative / quantitative transformations and by the interweaving of opposites that complement each other by forming totalities. Complexity sciences present notions such as system, network and emergency, which refer to connections, interdependencies and interrelations. There are possibilities of study of socio-environmental issues through the dialogue between knowledge and a vision of totality that allows for the possibility of chance, of novelty, of becoming. This is important insofar as the environmental sciences aim to mitigate or overcome the socio-environmental problems generated and / or amplified by the capitalist system.

The Advance of Neoliberalism as an Obstacle for the Consolidation of the Protection of Children and Adolescents
This work aims to reflect on the relationship among "social issue", neoliberalism and the protection of children and adolescents. In order to do so, the paper proposes some reflections about the main conceptual aspects of the mentioned categories, as well as of the reform of the State and networks of protection; based on Netto (2001), Pastorini (2010), Telles (1996, 1999), Amaro (2014), among others. The construction of this text enabled the comprehension of the relation of the "social issue" with capitalism and the contradictions involved in this process, and how the advance of neoliberalism has been going backwards concerning social rights which directly affect the protection of children and adolescents, as well as the rights of the working class in general.

Social Work professional activity of social workers: popular education methodology as an intervention strategy
This work raises a discussion concerning the popular education methodology used by social work professionals. It is a result of observations concerning authors related to this area and the challenges that professionals face to work according to the ethical-political project of social service. Our objective was to evaluate how the activities of social work professionals is based on popular education methodologies aimed at the education of individuals critical of their social reality. In the face of current challenges, including reinforcement of capital dominant strategies and the neoliberal perspective of the bourgeois state, the search for alternative interventions according to the working-class struggles emerge as a necessary point of discussion to social work. The analyses presented in the study have, as theoretical framework, the dialectical materialism and were based on investigation of authors such as: Paulo Freire, Faleiros, Barroco and Gramsci. We did a literature review resulting in discussions concerning social work activities, the ethical-political project and popular education. In conclusion, social work professionals can collaborate with the orientation of underprivileged classes to be recognized as social-historical individuals capable of creating a social revolution.

The school and the relations of coexistence in the contemporaneity: Interfaces between Education and Society
This article sought from critical theoretical references, to establish interlocutions with the educational thinking of several authors that problematize and, in this way, contribute to the understanding of the school, the curriculum, the educational practices institutionally established and the society and its forms of structuring and functioning. It is imperative, in the context we live, we reflect on prejudice and intolerance in the school environment, which must be understood in its historical, social, political and cultural determinants. Finally, we see the need to place the school in a different direction, which is not a promoter of hyperindividualism and competition, but of cooperation, dialogue and respect.

Lactic Bacteria Count and Physicochemical Analysis of Fermented Milk Beverages Marketed in the Municipality of Bom Jesus do Itabapoana, Brazil
Lactic acid bacteria (BAL) are micro-organisms necessary for fermentation and quality of the product and their concentration influence on the values of pH with their potential of acidification and lactic acid production. The goal was the evaluation of BAL and physicochemical analyses in fermented dairy drinks of three brands in four batches, with a total of 12 samples. The evaluated milk beverages presented BAL counts according to the standards required by the legislation (> 106 UFC / mL), characteristic pH (4-4.5) and titratable acidity within the expected (0.5-1.5% lactic acid). Only two samples had lower titratable acidity than required, demonstrating that they were less acidic. However, the BAL count is compatible with that required by ensuring a quality product.

Effect of yacon on the sensory acceptance of kefir and viability of lactic acid bacteria in this beverage
Kefir is a beverage resulting from the fermentation of kefir grains in pasteurized or sterilized milk. Regular consumption can have beneficial effects on consumer health. The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of the addition of yacon on the sensorial acceptance of kefir as well as the viability of lactic acid bacteria present in the beverage. Two formulations, F1 (kefir with papaya pulp and banana) and F2 (Kefir with papaya pulp and banana added with yacon) were elaborated. Analyzes of lactic bacteria and total and thermotolerant coliforms were carried out, besides the sensorial analysis with 50 non-trained evaluators. The microbiological analyzes were within the standard of the current legislation. As for lactic acid counts, the formulations presented similar values, and it can not be said that yacon helped their growth. The product was accepted for color and aroma for both formulations and for kefir with yacon acceptance in the parameter acidity and overall impression. Regarding flavor, both formulations presented values close to the indifference region, but the yacon sample improved the acceptance in taste and overall impression. During the sensorial analysis, it was observed that some evaluators still did not know the kefir, which emphasizes the importance of its popularization in the region.

Use of apps in Nutrition: literature review and user profile
This paper aims at performing a mapping in the literature to identify research related to the use of applications in mobile devices in the area of nutrition as well as the analysis of user profile. We conclude that, although being practical and easy to use tools that may help overcome any difficulties in screening individuals who need guidance and nutritional education, mobile devices with a focus on diet quality are still restricted in the literature. We also observed that the population profile investigated for the study presented favorable characteristics for the development of this kind of application.

Anatomy-Physiology of stress and the process of illness
Contemporary production organization has imposed a competitive lifestyle on citizens, with the threat of unemployment, long working hours, the need to consume, as well as other difficulties. During stressful events, a hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis response that secretes the hormone cortisol occurs. Depending on the duration and intensity of the stressor, the high level of cortisol may cause pathologies. The present study sought to understand the anatomical and physiological bases of the process of illness caused by chronic stress. Among the most studied pathologies caused by hypercortisolism are hypertension, increased blood glucose, muscle weakness, stretch marks, osteoporosis, obesity, degeneration of the brain and reduction of immunity. It is important to emphasize that people emit different responses to stress, so that the signs and symptoms will not be equal among the affected. Finally, any public or private initiative that establishes social, economic and emotional stability can suppress the pathologies associated with stress. Construction of the image of the elderly in the media: representativeness or stimulus to consumption?
In this article we analyze the use and construction of the image of the old body in fashion advertising in a context of ambiguous motivations: representation and the stimulus to consumption. For this, the work presents a theoretical reflection associated with discussions of empirical examples from images of fashion shows of two national brands. Results reveal a diversification of images of old age in the studied context: the subversive, the rejuvenated, and the conventional. However, although such a practice may contribute to contesting the normativity of beauty standards, based on youth, it aims, first and foremost, to shed light on the potential old consumer and its different faces.

Renewable energy or "clean" energy? An investigation of the conceptual perception of students in an Environmental Studies Course
Energy is a theme addressed in all segments of formal education, non-formal education, the media, and everyday conversation. Human dependence on energy is notorious. The pattern of human behavior has changed as of the industrial revolutions. Thus, a concept of the environment was created as it being a reserve of matter and energy. This notion has become hegemonic with regards to the way of approaching the environmental issue. In this sense, the study had the objective of analyzing high school senior students’ perception of the school subject of energy in the technical course on Environment at the Instituto Federal Fluminense (IFF) Campus Campos Guarus (Brazil). We aimed at understanding how students perceive the concepts of non-renewable, renewable and clean energy and what would be the consequences of this perception for their professional practices. The majority of students did not show clarity and confidence in most of the answers regarding energy. Thus, the results indicate the need to discuss the implementation of a discipline that could deal with the future technicians the energy issues relevant to their professional performance and their role in society.

Extractive exploration of the mussel Perna perna (Mollusca: Bivalvia) in the state of Rio de Janeiro and its social, cultural, educational, governmental, environmental and public health issues: a literature review
The present review aimed to gather information about sociocultural, educational, governmental, environmental and public health issues about the handlers of the Perna perna mussel in the state of Rio de Janeiro and the need for training in Good Practices and Continuing Education. Articles published between 2006 and 2016 were identified. The search was carried out in several electronic databases. The “Critical Appraisal Skills Programme” (CASP) checklist evaluated the methodological quality. Fifteen articles met the inclusion criteria. The interpretation was made by the analysis of content, inferring that the mussel Perna perna marketed in the state does not fully meet the standards of safe food and the set of commercial and sanitary norms, which turns the activity into potential risk for consumers.

The identification of the best period of control of Achatina fulica in Maringá, Paraná, Brazil
This article aims to analyze the relationship between the giant African snail with the mean compensated temperature, the relative humidity of the average air and the average rainfall. The data of the snail with the phenomena El Niño and La Niña were also confronted. The methodological procedures were based on the approval of the research by the ethics councils of the State University of Maringá and the Municipal Health Secretary. In the sequence, the climatic data were obtained and treated to build up the climograms. We used the Microsoft Excel 2010®, the Quantum GIS 2.18.1® and the ArcGis 10.4® softwares. After the preparation of the climograms, the analysis of the relationship between the climatic variables and the African giant snail was carried out. As a result, it was possible to identify the periods that are more favorable for getting success in the control of the species, which are in the years that present hotter and more humid summers, possibly associated to the El Niño phenomenon, since it was observed that these years are more conducive to reproduction and dissemination of the exotic species. It was concluded that the control of the mollusc should be daily. It should also be noted that the process of manual harvesting should not only be of the mollusc and eggs on the soil, but also of the eggs that are buried to avoid hatching and in fact control of the exotic species.

Evaluation of occupational exposure to chainsaw vibration: a study on the forest harvesting in Espírito Santo, Brazil
From 2007 to 2012, forest activities in Brazil recorded an average incidence of 30 accidents for each group of 1,000. This research aims to demonstrate the intensity of the physical agent “localized vibration”, originated from the use of chainsaw in activities of forest harvesting in an area of development in Espirito Santo (Brazil). The evaluations were performed according to the Occupational Hygiene Standard NHO 10 of the Jorge Duprat and Figueiredo Foundation (Fundacentro) and their results were compared to the Regulatory Standards NR-09 and NR-15 Annex 8, that establish the maximum limits allowed for eight-hour daily exposition. The average vibration exposure was for drive of 2.8 m.s-2 and 4.4 m.s-2 for grip. The highest acceleration for an eight-hour journey was 6.87 m.s-2, above the tolerance limit of 5.0 m.s-2. We propose the adoption of control measures to reduce the risk of vibration, given that the average intensity has exceeded the level of action.
