By the end of the 20th Century, historical fiction had an increase of number of books and a different approach by the authors which led to an enrichment and diversity of the genre. This work studies the novel Crimes of August, by Rubem Fonseca, published in 1990. The narrative brings side by side the events of a tragic moment of Brazilian History and an investigation of a murder in Rio de Janeiro. It is, at the same time, a thriller and a historical fiction. On August 24th, 1954, the president of Brazil, Getúlio Vargas, accused of being responsible for the attempted assassination of his political opponent, the journalist Carlos Lacerda, committed suicide. During the investigation of a murder, the police officer will connect history and fiction when he includes a security guard of the president among the suspects. This work focuses in studying how historical and fictional events are related in the novel, in order to study Crimes of August as historical fiction.

Two Dual Phase (DP) steels, both with thickness of 2,0mm, similar chemical composition and strength and produced by two different steelworks, were used in the cold drawing process. One of the sheets had cracking problems during the cold drawing process and the other didn't. The objective of this work is to compare the microstructure and the mechanical properties in tensile process in order to understand what caused the failure in one of the sheets. In view of this, the chemical composition, characterization by optical microscopy and determination of crystallographic texture by x-ray diffraction were performed. Tensile tests in the 0 °, 45 ° and 90 ° directions with respect to the rolling direction were also performed. All tests performed returned very similar results between the two materials. The main distinguishing feature among steels was the higher fiber intensity in the material that cracked. The origin of the intensities of α-fiber and -fiber are derived from the treatment of the raw material and the rolling process of the material. This fact justifies the results of cold drawing, since the presence of α-fiber is detrimental to materials in the process of drawing.

The art/education serves as an important instrument of formal education and provides means and methods for achieving the ideal of interdisciplinary (or transdisciplinary). In this work, we try to point the relevance of art education in high school for the formation of a social consciousness, responsible for a transformation. The student and art/educator are in permanent contact with the body drawing his social information relevant to the reconstruction of the artistic work and providing knowledge of the art. Sought, thus establishing the relationship between new media and school and thus revisit the parameters of art education and assist in planning a study that has, in the Visual Arts, its axis. In short, a reflection on the complexity of teaching and learning in Art and relevance of the training of art educators to form a cultural awareness in Brazil. The new media may be used to carry out artistic activities in high school, giving the student a more efficient learning, caring and consistent with the realities

No Brasil, existem diversas empresas que atuam no mercado de conservação de energia prestando serviços de retrofit de sistema de iluminação, geração de vapor, geração distribuída entre outros. Os serviços prestados por essas empresas são acompanhados de contratos complexos, dificultando o reconhecimento da receita oriunda desses contratos pela área comercial. Desta forma, a elaboração de um manual de procedimento para reconhecimento de receitas se torna relevante a fim de auxiliar a diminuição da assimetria informacional entre as áreas comercial e contábil, tornando o processo de comercialização de produtos mais eficiente. Para realização deste estudo, foi adaptada a metodologia proposta pelo trabalho do Oyadomari et al.(2012) sobre o modelo de pesquisa intervencionista em empresas de pequeno porte. Neste estudo, foi selecionada uma empresa com atuação no segmento de conservação de energia e os funcionários da área comercial foram entrevistados. Como resultado das entrevistas, notou-se que o nível de conhecimento contábil da equipe comercial era baixo, inclusive sendo informada, pelos funcionários, a necessidade de treinamento nessa área e a importância da contabilidade nas metas individuais e coletivas. Esta pesquisa tem implicação prática para empresas que atuam com conservação de energia, principalmente para a área comercial, possibilitando a elaboração de produtos e serviços que atendam aos anseios técnicos e contábeis dos clientes.

O presente artigo possui como objetivo a discussão a respeito da colaboração premiada sob o aspecto da renúncia ao direito ao silêncio e suas consequências, segundo o disposto na Lei nº 12.850 de 2013 e seu conflito com o princípio do direito ao silêncio, previsto na Constituição Federal de 1988, assim como seus desdobramentos no processo penal. Neste sentido, é feita uma análise relativa à desobrigação de colaboração do acusado no curso do processo, estabelecida pelo referido princípio, e sua relação com o compromisso legal de dizer a verdade, sujeição imposta ao acusado que celebra o acordo de colaboração premiada. São estabelecidos paralelos também atinentes ao respeito pelo exercício da plena liberdade de vontade do acusado que estiver preso e optar pela celebração do acordo supramencionado, assim como os interesses que podem surgir por parte do delator para obter os benefícios oferecidos no acordo.

The works regarding Lean manufacturing and in special Continuous Improvement - Kaizen has been widely discussed and explored in the international literature, however there is still few works concerning with the question of knowledge management when the implementation of Continuous Improvement or Kaizen techniques with the support of Management Accounting. In this context this study aims to understand as a mainly research objective the process of Continuous Improvement – Kaizen in the company Eureka!. This case study also contributed to theory bringing an empirical study in Continuous Improvement. The mainly theory base the supports this research are the constructs explored by Kennedy and Widener (2008) and Nonaka (2006). The study is exploratory regarding the objectives, case study regarding the procedures and qualitative regarding the approach. The object of the research is the Company Eureka! that is a multinational company in Brazil with no stocks open in the market. The analyze process were identified and mapped through 22 interviews with the mainly process owners and also in the field research and analyzes of the documentation provided. It was used the software for qualitative data analysis or in English “QDA” - ATLAS.ti for content analysis. The results shown four factors or categories that is the following: Sustainability of the Business or Profitability factor, that gave the sustainability of the business in order to prepare the company for the crisis moment, solidifying in this way the organizational capabilities against the competitors; Excellence in Process or Process, it was a dimensional important to guarantee the management and continuity of the projects; the Social Controls or Social Factor it was perceived that there was a big difficulty for the Continuous Improvement project management area to take the needed actions for the correction on the modus operandi of the philosophy and finally the institutionalization or Institutional Factor it was perceived that the ideas generation it was for the Company Eureka! one of the more important levels of control in its programs of Continuous Improvement. Where suggested 22 propositions based on the content analysis and the review of the literature that driven the process of Continuous Improvement of the company Eureka!. The study contributes for the practice showing it factors are important for the implementation and institutionalization of the Continuous Improvement – Kaizen technique, calling attention of the professionals in charge of theses program, and also professionals on the area of Management Control and Operations.

This thesis aims to investigate the elements that make up the networks of innovation in agribusiness in Brazil, specifically the relations of cooperation in the technological sugar-alcohol sector in São Paulo. To achieve this goal, we studied where and how this network, its strategies, and contractual aspects. Brazil is, together with India, the world's largest producer of sugar cane, alone the largest producer of sugar and alcohol and the world's leading exporter of sugar. His numbers are in the house of billions. The increase of environmental turbulence occurred in the last few decades become better aware of the fundamental organizational environment and its components for organizational survival. Among the many factors that make up the environment, relations with other organizations are receiving increasing attention. The body of research is composed of three interviews with managers or directors responsible for the area of research and development, and a fourth company studied through secondary data. These companies were selected based on a previous study conducted in the landscape sector, an integral part of this dissertation. Topics semi-structured achieved through a road map to interview led to qualitative analysis about the purpose of this study. Chapter 1 gives the introduction, the 2, the justification, problem and the research objectives; 3, a chart that allows sectoral update and acquaint the reader with this powerful and important sector through a brief history; 4, the theoretical references of the dissertation, the 5, research procedures, the 6 presentation and analysis of data. With this, this work will be conducted theoretically justifying the approach of interorganizational relations, seeking thereby to raise some tools for better understanding of the phenomenon interorganizational networks, and, still, theoretically contribute to the development of the sugar-alcohol sector approach in the state of São Paulo.

O presente trabalho tem por objeto analisar o Princípio da Preservação da Empresa sob o viés prático de sua aplicação nos casos de recuperação judicial, a partir das práticas do devedor, bem como das concessões e chancelas pelo poder judiciário. Busca tratar das abusividades que permeiam a utilização do mencionado princípio, deturpando a função social da empresa, no intuito de manter estruturas sem viabilidade econômica no mercado e que, por fim, acabam por onerar tanto seus credores, quanto o próprio mercado. Portanto, chegou-se à conclusão de que a solução pela liquidação da empresa, de forma organizada, proporciona maiores benefícios à sociedade como um todo.

This study examines and explains Álvaro Siza's work and journey, especially regarding the interface between design thinking and the constructed building. It justifies the choice by this architect because he understands that his projective positioning, critical and reflective, which takes space as a resource capable of being molded or modeled, construction as a concrete manifestation of his own artistic ability and architecture as a tangible phenomenon placed at the service of people. As a research hypothesis, this thesis considers the fact that the buildings Álvaro Siza designs materialize his way of thinking an architecture based on a set of correlated conceptual variables: focus on human being, attention to the local context and appreciation of materiality. It situates the architectural course of Álvaro Siza in the history of Portuguese architecture from the mid-twentieth century onwards, relating his projects to some of the political, social and cultural circumstances of the country. It stresses that it is through the genealogy of his work that it is possible to understand an architectural practice that is supported by mediation, balance, pragmatism and the combination, adjustment or harmonization with preexistences. These, although sometimes without patrimonial or monumental value, are respected and considered as basic subsidy to the project. It understands that Siza’s creative exercise considers, in a very particular and characteristic way, a set of negotiations between means and ends, opportunities and choices, materials and forms. It argues that in the experience of built architecture it is possible to perceive the essence of his projects, the consistency of his ideas and Siza's ability to respond positively to the requirements of each new project conceived. It adopts as an investigative procedure the inferential method of Baxandall (2006) articulated to bibliographic and field research. Thereby, elects the Viana do Castelo Municipal Library (2008) and the Nadir Afonso Museum of Contemporary Art (2016), both visited in 2019, for a more detailed design, circumstantial and constructive analysis, namely in relation to the reasons for the orders, to the drawings as indispensable instruments to the project, to the relations with the surrounding spaces, to the formal and material choices, to the structural and constructive systems and to the analogies with other works of his own. It concludes that, over the years, Álvaro Siza has perfected an architectural calligraphy that continues to represent his style or his very own and peculiar way of making architectural projects, and that is enshrined in a continuous experimentation, in the belief that there are no pre-established rules, because always propitious to the combination of design demands and signals provided by the real world. An architecture that does not surrender to contemporary aesthetic manipulation, since it is valued by its own plastic logic, always designed to offer people spaces to be experienced and not just contemplated. An architecture in which matter can be understood as the element that transforms the project’s idea into a tangible element, and for that very reason anticipates the possibilities of existence and resistance in the physical world, thus validating its own raison d'être.

O presente trabalho tem como objetivo, que se pode perceber pelo título, analisar o instituto jurídico whistleblowing, seus fundamentos e sua validade como instrumento de preservação da função social das empresas. Desta maneira, partimos da conceituação dos termos que norteiam este texto, primeiro o Direito, depois temas correlatos como valores, solidariedade, justiça social e princípios constitucionais. Nos capítulos seguintes, será tratado o tema da função social da empresa. Em seguida, há uma explanação sobre a relação do direito penal com a responsabilidade social da empresa. Por fim, analisaremos a influência do direito internacional no direito penal pátrio e o instituto whistleblowing, sempre com foco na questão da responsabilidade social da empresa.

The present research, in an interdisciplinary approach, relates legal aspects involved in economic and financial balance on public infrastructure contracts to its reflex in Brazilian economy and politics. Besides legal dispositions on the matter, the analysis also covers parameters that are usually adopted by the legal doctrine to delineate the contractual equation in these circumstances. A simplified interpretation of the concept, viewed generically as a relation between charges incurred in the contract and retributions by the public contractor has imposing consequences to achieve rebalancing. In this sense, we have found that the wide discretion used to evaluate rebalancing contractual claims has significantly contributed to abandonment of infrastructure enterprises and adoption of illegal rebalancing solutions, which is a structural problem in this market. Proposing a new approach to the concept, in which risk and contingency have a crucial importance to complex contracts, this work delineates possible objective elements to appreciate public infrastructure contracts. This proposed process begins with prior assessment and provision, in the legal sphere, of the risks commonly related to this type of enterprise. Secondly, a proper contract modeling will bring specific allocation of risks regime for this type work. Finally, project contract management monitoring activity will enable a definitive delimitation of the scheme and will form the material ballast evidentiary that will allow an objective assessment of the relevance and size of contractual rebalancing. We sustain the hypothesis that this approach would have a deterrent effect on the abandonment of infrastructure projects by contractors for their implementation and on corrupt practices taking place in the contractual rebalancing process.
