Harvest time, planting time: Writing in and by living in the countryside

In Brazilian society, an ideal of devaluation of rural people was established, as if they were ragged individuals with little schooling. Thus, it is up to the rural schools to meet the demands of the peasant community and also demystify this ideology loaded with preconceptions attributed to workers and people living in rural areas. The present study reports an interdisciplinary experience developed with students of the 3rd year of Elementary Education, from the Roberval Costa Reis State School, located in the Porto Velho settlement, municipality of Santa Terezinha / MT. The pedagogical intervention aimed to provide them with activities and mediation that would make it possible to consolidate scientific and sign literacy, in addition to literacy for life, starting from the local context. The action was carried out during the second semester of 2018 and went through six stages, in which theoretical and practical activities were worked, focused on the production of food on the properties, stimulating learning to read and write mathematical concepts and sciences from the beginning. knowledge of the world and its reality. During the proposed activities, it can be seen that students were more motivated to participate in the actions developed in the classroom, and especially when they broke through that quadrilateral, reaching spaces that were rarely used for the purpose of promoting school learning, such as the laboratory. computer science, the schoolyard and the backyards of the existing houses in the school community. Finally, the actions made it possible for us to expand the universe of possibilities for integrating knowledge with regard to literacy and literacy of these subjects of law.

Nursing protagonism in vaccination and evaluation of vaccine coverage against human virus papilloma in municipalities of the 18th regional health of Paraná

Cervical cancer is the fourth leading cause of mortality among women. The acquisition of the disease is directly related to HPV infection. The oncogenic strains of this virus have tropism for the pelvic region and can be transmitted during sexual intercourse, becoming important in the epidemiological scenario of the young population. In view of the importance of measures aimed at preventing cervical carcinoma, the objective of the present study was to carry out a bibliographic survey of a qualitative, exploratory and documentary approach about HPV vaccination and the role of the nursing professional in this context. To this end, a search was conducted in the databases Scielo, Periódicos Capes and Biblioteca Vir¬tual de Saúde, with the descriptors Human Papillomavirus and vaccines. It was observed that vaccination rates have decreased since the HPV vaccine was instituted in the PNI in 2014. Paraná had a vaccination rate similar to the national vaccine in 2014 and 2015. In 2016 the state showed a slight increase in rates. Low adherence to vaccination is multifactorial, being directly related to the population's socioeconomic status and the amount of information that this population has access to. As a result, the nursing professional becomes an essential part of the entire epidemiological context of cervical carcinoma. It is up to this professional not only the correct application of nursing techniques in the application of the vaccine, but also the individual monitoring of each patient. Thus allowing the correction of dogmas and wrong information and bringing knowledge to the whole community.

Pregnancy and COVID-19 pandemic: Impacts on the maternal-fetal binomial

The aim of this study is to reveal the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on pregnancy. The article adopted the systematic review model, using the SciELO, PubMed and Google Scholar databases, using the descriptors “Coronavirus” and “Pregnancy”. Twenty complete articles were selected, published since 2020 to the present moment. It was noticed that pregnancy is a unique immunological state, in which physiological and mechanical changes occur in the maternal-fetal interface, which makes pregnant women more susceptible to viral infections. Thus, with the pandemic of COVID-19, although studies do not show that pregnant women present a greater deterioration of the clinical picture when compared to the general population, changes were observed that may imply gestational complications, such as pre-eclampsia, prematurity, early rupture of membrane and perinatal death. Thus, it is important to pay attention to this group, focusing on alarm signals for cases of moderate to severe involvement, with provision of clinical support, through hospitalization in isolation, adequate nutrition, supply of supplemental oxygen (if necessary) , observing fluid and electrolyte intake, as well as monitoring vital signs of mother and fetus. In addition, the performance of prenatal, intrapartum and postpartum should not be excluded, but adjusted. In situations of suspicion or confirmed infection, it is recommended that scheduling appointments and procedures be postponed for at least 7 days, up to 14 days; and telemedicine is an option to prioritize the health of pregnant women and social isolation.

Strategies and challenges in maintaining the mental health of nursing professionals in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic

To analyze published scientific evidence on strategies and challenges in maintaining the mental health of nursing professionals in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. This study is a literature review of the integrative literature review method, carried out in the months between January and May 2021. The search was carried out through the Virtual Health Library Platform - VHL, using databases (LILACS) , (BDENF), through (SCIELO). Adhering through the descriptors/key words: “Nursing”, “Mental Health”, “Covid-19”, combined with the Boolean operator “AND”. The professional is exposed and can lead to psychological distress, high stress, anxiety, depression. These comorbidities, when present, can negatively impact job satisfaction, resulting in damage to care, quality of care and patient safety. It is currently common to identify symptoms of anxiety and depression and the great impact that these manifestations have on the well-being and daily activities of health workers. In nursing, there is a large index of these psychic manifestations among professionals. It is noteworthy that all these stressors related to nursing work tend to be exacerbated in the face of a calamity scenario such as the one that has been installed in recent times, as the world is currently going through a period of turmoil resulting from the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus. In this context, it is necessary to implement psychological support interventions for this group, considering that health professionals are at significantly high risk and have psychopathologies such as: anxiety, depression, stress, insomnia, fear, PTSD, syndrome of Burnout.

Transmissible veneral tumor in a dog’s abdominal cavity: Uncommon report

The transmissible venereal tumor is a neoplasm distributed worldwide that affects dogs mainly through sexual contact, the affected animals usually develop nodules in the lower reproductive tract. Metastases are uncommon, usually seen in immunocompromised animals. The aim of this paper is to report a case of a transmissible venereal tumor in a female dog spread through the abdomen. The patient had a single mass in the cranial region of the vagina and masses of different sizes adhered to the abdominal wall, mesentery and serosa of organs such as intestine, spleen, urinary vesicle and uterus, visualized on ultrasound examination. Complementary tests such as vaginoscopy and cytomorphological analyzes of the masses in the abdominal cavity and in the vagina were of great importance for the definitive diagnosis. Weekly treatment with 0.5 mg/m2 of Vincristine Sulfate for seven weeks was effective. The importance of this report is the uncommon form of TVT metastasis, as it affected only the serosa of Organs abdominal organs, without compromising their function.

Performance of a photovoltaic panel (PV) converted to a thermal photovoltaic with collector for hot water (PVT/w)

Tests were carried out in an open environment with two photovoltaic panels, in the city of Dourados/MS, for six non-consecutive days, between the months of June to July 2018, where one panel was kept original (PV), while the other underwent modifications to operate as a photovoltaic-thermal module using (PVT/w), which is connected to a reservoir for hot water accumulation. The tests were carried out according to the open circuit voltage (Voc), the surface temperature of the photovoltaic cells and the water temperature of the cooling and thermoaccumulation system of the PVT/w, to determine the adequate and adequate thermal energy of the thermal yield. The increase in the temperature of the cooling water negatively affects the value of the open circuit voltage, which was, on average, 2.3% higher for PVT/w, which presented a lower surface temperature in all tests. The average thermal efficiency of PVT/w was 242 W m-2, given in an estimate of total efficiency (thermal and electrical) of 349 W m-2, an increase of 161% in relation to the energy efficiency of PV (only electricity), estimated at 106 W m-2 based on information from the manufacturer's technical catalog.

Neurotropism of SARS-CoV-2: Possible impacts of COVID-19 in patients with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is a degenerative neuromuscular disease that affects the upper and lower motor neurons. The state of motor and functional impairment resulting from the progression of the disease exposes them to a possibly fatal risk in the case of infection by SARS-CoV-2, especially due to the severe pulmonary involvement, characteristic of the advancement of the degenerative pathology in question. In this review, we list the main associative mechanisms between the disease and COVID-19, highlighting, mainly, the neuroinvasive viral aspects. The study is a qualitative descriptive research, carried out through a narrative review of the literature. The literature on the new coronavirus has demonstrated the viral neuroinvasion and neurotropic capacity of SARS-CoV-2. Currently, the evidence proves that infection is not restricted to the respiratory tract, which is the primary site of the infection. Based on the findings, it is proposed that there are three viable scenarios on the impact of SARS-CoV-2 and neuroinvasion: (1) direct induction of neurological changes; (2) worsening of previously installed neurological conditions; and (3) increased susceptibility or deterioration of damage caused by other injuries, in this case, considering ALS patients. It is concluded that there is a possibility of a latent period of SARS-CoV-2 in the CNS. Thus, it is crucial to observe subsequent neurological symptoms in the individual, resulting from viral reactivation, resulting in continuous progression of the neuroinflammatory processes associated with ALS. The neuroinvasive and neurotropic capacities of the virus must also be observed in the long term to elucidate whether neurodegenerative diseases, such as ALS, confer direct vulnerability to COVID-19.

Need for a support network for users with nephrostomy: Experience report

Objective: to report the experience of nursing students and nurses in the care of users with nephrostomy Method: an experience report study carried out in 2021 in a reference center for stoma patients in a city in southern Brazil, and selected data on users with nephrostomy, analyzing the reason for seeking care with the stoma therapist nurse during the nursing consultation. Results: difficulties were observed in performing self-care associated with the change of the collecting system, because the location of the ostomy does not favor the adequate fixation of the bag in front of the user's own attempt to change the collecting equipment, always depending on another person to perform this change.  The service users report that even with the aid of mirrors, the maneuver to be used makes it impossible to properly position the collection equipment, favoring leaks and decreasing the useful time of the collection bags. Final considerations: The professional nurse must evaluate the person with nephrostomy, the conditions of the stoma and the peristomal skin, prescribing the collecting equipment and adjuvants best suited for each case, the position of the collecting bag must allow its emptying by the user, and it is necessary to train family members to assist in the exchanges.

Rheological behavior of denatured whey crosslinked by transglutaminase on different quantities and reaction time

This study aimed to evaluate the rheological behavior of catalyzing the reaction of denatured whey (WPD) with the microbial transglutaminase (TG) as a function of reaction time and amount of TG. The rheological study was performed according to concentrations of 8, 14, 18, 22, and 26 U / g enzyme microbial transglutaminase and reaction times of 8, 16 and 24 hours, in which the model of Ostwald-de-Waelle ( Power law) was used to adjust the experimental data. The model showed excellent adjustment with determination coefficient values (R²) greater than 0.99. It was observed that the addition of TG provided a decrease in viscosity and increased shear rates. The increase in shear stresses was also observed and the solutions presented flow behavior indices (ⴄp) less than 1, indicating that the solutions of WPD + TG present behavior of non-Newtonian fluids of the pseudoplastic type. It was also found that the reaction times have influence on the increase in behavior index and viscosity of the solution. According to the results found, it is possible to affirm that the reaction times and the amounts of TG are decisive in the processes of obtaining quality films and gels, which can yield better products after the optimization of these factors.

Changes induced by diet with different concentrations of resistant starch in the metabolism of carbohydrates and lipids in Wistar rats

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of replacing pregelatinized starch with resistant starch on the metabolism of lipids and carbohydrates in male Wistar rats. 20 male rats were divided into two groups, which received a diet with 9.5% (DAP) and 18.1% (DAR) of resistant starch for 22 days. Weight, feed, and water consumption were analyzed and the concentrations of cholesterol and triglycerides in serum and muscle and hepatic and muscle glycogen were quantified. The data were analyzed by Tukey's test (p>0.05) and box-plot graphs. There were no significant differences in feed and water intake, but the animals in the DAP group showed an increase in weight (51.12g to 55.27g) while those in the DAR group decreased (49.01g to 44.15g). The DAR group showed a decrease in triglycerides, total serum cholesterol (from 125.761 mg/dL to 104.874 mg/dL), and muscle glycogen, but an increase in triglycerides in the gastrocnemius muscle compared to the DAP group (from 0.160 mg/dL to 0.259 mg/dL). These results point to a decrease in the glucose absorption speed in the group of animals with a diet with a higher amount of resistant starch, which may have induced a decrease in the processes of synthesis of triglycerides and cholesterol leading to an increase in catabolism of these substrates by the body, plastic adaptation of muscles for the use of fatty acids in their oxidative metabolism.
