Breastfeeding and the Role of the Nurses

Mother breast-feeding is essential for the child's nutrition, development and healthy growth, and for the mother there are also great benefits, this act should be something pleasurable, during mother breast-feeding a great connection between mother and child is formed, but for that connection to be formed it is necessary for the mother to feel safe and comfortable, and for the child to suck the milk properly, the wrong handle can cause great discomfort for the mother, thus causing trauma at the time of mother breast-feeding, which can cause early weaning, so to prevent this to happen the nurse has an important performance in the guidance and assistance both in prenatal care and immediate post-birth. The study aims to analyze the performance of nurses in promoting, encouraging and supporting mothers in breastfeeding. This is an integrative review research that will be carried out by a literature review based on secondary works that address the theme, published in the period from 2015 to 2020. The results found underscore the importance of the nurse concerning the care, guidance and assistance to pregnant women and puerperal women in breastfeeding, this review shows us how essential the presence of nurses is, that their technical and scientific knowledge his human look and training as a professional become essential for these mothers and their babies.

Remote teaching in a face-to-face technical course: Reflections of an interdisciplinary project in the context of the pandemic

The scenario of social distancing caused by the COVID 19 pandemic imposed a reorganization in the teaching-learning process. The teachers had to reinvent themselves, since most did not have the necessary skills to work in remote education and the students, who studied in person, had to adapt to the new reality and consequently overcome the challenges imposed. In this context, the professors realized the importance of interdisciplinary collaborative work and active methodologies. This article aims to analyze the impacts that the actions of the interdisciplinary project "Projects and production: challenges in the midst of the pandemic of COVID-19", carried out during the pandemic of Covid-19, in the period from May to June 2020, caused in the teaching-learning process of a class of the Technical Course in Administration Subsequent to High School, face-to-face modality, face-to-face mode , of the Federal Institute of Rondônia. The methodological mobilization occurred through a qualitative approach, of an applied nature, based on the bibliographic research and the description of the data and facts observed, in addition to the field research, using the questionnaire as an instrument. We identified some positive impacts on the students' school performance, due to the participation in the project, where it was possible to observe a motivation during and at the end of the proposal, in addition to the feedbacks and perceptions pointed out by the students. Therefore, it is perceived the need to encourage the culture of new actions that can boost the teaching process, mobilizing unique learning experiences related to the realities experienced by academics, enabling the propagation of an education that transforms realities, and drives students to a life of success.

The influence of translucent barriers on the effectiveness of dental light curing

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the irradiance of different light-curing devices when subjected to the use of different types of biological protection barriers. The tested devices were: Bluephase N. Radii-Cal and VALO wireless. The biosafety barriers were: Polyethylene and Polyvinyl Chloride with one and two turns. The tips of the devices had their diameters measured on a digital pachymeter and the area of each tip was calculated. The power (mW) of the devices was measured with a potentiometer for 20 seconds and three times for each device. Then. the irradiance (mW / cm²) was calculated by the quotient of the power of the device by the cross-sectional area of the tip of the photoactivator. The irradiance data for each group were collected and subjected to two-way ANOVA analysis of variance (SPSS). with Tukey's post-hoc. As a result. a statistically significant interaction between the different types of light-curing device and translucent protection barriers (p < 0.05) were observed. It can be concluded that the protective barrier made with 1-turn polyvinyl chloride demonstrated the best irradiance results and among the light-curing devices. regardless of the type of barrier used. Bluephase obtained the best irradiance results. followed by Valo and Radii.

Psychotherapeutic follow-up during pandemic COVID-19 in nurses at residential diagnosis with Burnout syndrome: A neurophysiological and pharmacotherapeutic approach

In the end of 2019, in the city of Wuhan, the first case of COVID-19 emerged, after that, the cases increased and reached the other countries, giving rise to the current pandemic. The neurophysiology of fear is defined by a chain reaction, with the involvement of several anatomical regions of the brain, responsible for different functions, which characterize the behavior of something unknown. The Burnout syndrome is a psychic disorder, depressive, developed in up to 74% of nurses, due to extreme exhaustion at work. Objective: To research, to describe and to identify risk factors that contribute to the development of Burnout syndrome in nurses, working in emergency care units. Addressing the neurophysiological confrontation of fear in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. To describe the psychotherapeutic and pharmacotherapeutic importance. Method: This is a qualitative and descriptive bibliographic review. The studies took place in April and May 2021. The articles were extracted from search engines such as: Lilacs (Latin American and Caribbean health sciences literature), Scielo (Scientific Electronic Library Online), Pebmed and Google Scholar. 33 scientific articles and 4 books were used through the descriptors: Nurse; Pharmacotherapy; Neurophysiology and Psychotherapy. Results: Numerous risk factors were found, associated with the behavior and nature of depressed mood, which predisposes to risks for professional nurses to develop the Burnout syndrome. Conclusion: Many risk factors could be reduced. Psychotherapeutic monitoring, associated with pharmacotherapy, is essential. The use of antidepressants provides stabilization of depressed mood, which favor the clinical outcome in the face of the diagnosis of Burnout syndrome.

Probiotic products consuming analysis with a university education institution students

Health care and attention to lifestyle habits have been gaining attention in recent years and the change in eating habits is relevant since the inclusion of some foods can help maintain health. Among these foods, probiotics are highlighted, which through microbial action help in beneficial activities of the digestive and immune systems. The objective of this work was to investigate the knowledge and behavior of consumption of probiotic foods by students from a higher education institution and to verify the judgment of a proposed purchase intention of kefir based on passion fruit albedo. The research participants were 327 students from a Higher Education Institution who answered an online questionnaire, published in WhatsApp groups and institutional emails. The responses obtained were tabulated and analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. Most research participants (72.8%) were aged between 18 and 24 years old, where 32.1% have an income between R$ 1100.00 and R$ 2200.00, the participants have a sedentary routine, but without health problems. Part of the students correctly defined “probiotic foods”, having habits of consumption every six months, with fermented milk as the main insertion and frequency food, and more preferably yogurt. Participants do not know or consume the Kefir product, preferring functional foods based on milk, slightly acidic and are open to the proposal to purchase a Kefir based on passion fruit albedo, requiring product development and sensory tests.

Management of radiation-related caries in head and neck cancer patients: Scientific evidence

Patients diagnosed with malignant neoplasms in the head and neck region are often treated by radiotherapy. Despite the efficiency in eradicating cancer cells, ionizing radiation can reach healthy tissues close to the tumor, causing undesirable effects to the patient, such as hyposalivation, dry mouth, mucositis, soft and hard tissue necrosis and radiation-related caries (RRC). RRC is a multifactorial and highly destructive disease, which compromises the patient’s oral function. The management of patients with RRC is becoming increasingly common in dental practice, since the cure rates for malignant neoplasms have been higher with the advances in current medicine. In this context, the present study aims to discuss the main factors related to the development of RRC, as well as the difficulties and limitations found in its treatment and control. A narrative and qualitative literature review was carried out, based on a survey of scientific articles found in the Google Scholar, Pubmed and SciELO databases, with no restriction on the year of publication and language. For this, the following keywords were used: Dental Caries; Dentin; Dental Enamel; Mouth Neoplasms; Radiotherapy. It is concluded that there is no well-defined protocol for the treatment of RRC in the literature, and the restorative process is quite challenging for dentists. It emphasizes the need for better methodology details of the study carried out and more studies on the subject in order to establish an effective clinical protocol for these patients, seeking, above all, to restore health and improve quality of life.

Mouse mammary tumor virus (MMTV) and breast cancer – determinant causality association in clinical outcome

The objective is to alert about the possible role of viral infections caused by the mouse mammary tumor virus (MMTV) in the development and progression of breast cancer (BC), emphasizing the prevalence of the virus finding in this pathology, and its determinant action in the carcinogenic clinical outcome. In this work, a bibliographical survey was carried out, searching for scientific productions published in PubMed, LILACS and SciELO journals. From this survey, a systematic review was carried out, using scientific articles from the last 5 years, in Portuguese, Spanish and English versions. Generally, studies carried out with Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) and hybridization techniques were taken into consideration. Thus, a prevalence of mammary carcinogenesis induced by the mouse mammary tumor virus (mean 31.6%) was observed when compared to the occasion when the virus finding was positive but not inducing such pathology. In addition, when the virus was positive, inducing carcinogenesis, the inhibition of lymph node metastasis was evidenced. Thus, the mouse mammary tumor virus is consolidated as a risk factor for the development of breast cancer. Moreover, the finding of the virus in breast cancer was associated with a better prognosis, by inhibiting blood/lymphatic dissemination of tumor cells. Therefore, from the possibility that tumor cells may display viral antigens, a potential antigenic target is established, with the promise of developing preventive treatments for breast cancer.

Characterization of physical activity prescription: Copyright as a possibility in the modeling of the training section

The Physical Education professional in essence plans, elaborates, organizes, builds, executes and structures models and training sections, masters concepts and procedures related to the body, health and physical activity. In preparing the training program, it takes into account aspects related to the individuality of the student / client, socioeconomic factors, health in general, objective and purpose with the practice of the activity. In the act and exercise of his profession, he applies intellectual property, and in the construction of his product he presents criteria and characteristics related to copyright. There are characterizing elements in CONFEF Resolution No. 327/2016 that corroborate the criteria of LAW No. 9,609 / 98 of copyright in Brazil. Based on this premise, this article aimed to identify whether, in the exercise of their profession, the Physical Education professional develops a passive product of copyright protection, as well as to know the characteristics and criteria in the prescription of physical activity. While problematic, it is worth noting whether the Physical Education professional builds a product and if that product fits the protection of copyright. In the methodological field, principles of documentary research were used, analyzing and comparing CONFEF Resolution No. 327/2016 and LAW No. 9.609 / 98. Obtaining the following information, there is a relationship between training programs and copyright protection; the Physical Education professional demands passive action for discussion in the face of copyright protection; there is a need to deepen the discussion regarding the prescription of physical activity, physical education professional and copyright.

Evaluation of heated air jet on pulp chamber temperature at different steps of the restorative protocol

Objectives: Evaluate of the heated air jet temperature (T) in the pulp chamber on cavity 5 depths and photoactivation stages for a bulk fill resin restorative protocol is evaluated. Methods: Class I cavity preparations were conducted at different depths (n = 8) through two protocols for adhesive volatilization (23 °C and 40 °C) and cavities were restored with the Filtek Bulk Fill resin. The pulp chamber temperature variation was evaluated at four steps (times) during the restorative protocol: I (initial), V (after volatilization), A (after photoactivation of the adhesive), and C (after photoactivation of the composite resin). To verify the assumptions of the normality of the errors and homoscedasticity, the Shapiro Wilk and Levene tests were conducted. Subsequently, two-way and three-way analysis of variance was carried out, followed by Tukey's post-hoc analysis (α = 0.05). Results: The maximum T at the different restorative steps, regardless of the volatilization protocol and cavity depth, was as follows: I (36.8 °C) = V (36.9 ºC) < A (37.2 °C) = R (37.8 ºC) (p <0.05). During V, a small greater variation was observed in pulp chamber temperature when dentin was volatilized at 40 °C (p <0.05) at very deep cavity depths (0.31 °C). The largest temperature variations (p <0.05) were observed during A (0.17–0.59 °C) and R (0.50–1.06 °C), reaching peak temperatures in the cavities.

Antileishmania, antimalarial and antitrypanosome potential of Casearia species: An integrative review

One of the greatest challenges in the treatment of parasitic diseases is the resistance developed by the parasites against the available drugs. Therefore, the search for therapeutic alternatives is urgent. This study carried out an integrative review of the literature that evaluated the antileishmanial, antimalarial and antitrypanosome potential of plants of the genus Casearia. The search for scientific articles was carried out on the Portal of Journals from CAPES, Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS), PUBMED and SCIELO, using the following descriptors: Casearia and antileishmania; Casearia and antimalárico; and Casearia and antitrypanosoma. A total of 122 publications were collected for screening, of which 11 were included in the integrative review. In the antileishmania activity, Casearia sylvestris stood out, with the hexane extract of the wood and stem bark and the ethanolic extract of the root bark showing activity against different species of Leishmania (IC50<100 µg/mL), but with high toxicity (CC50<100 µg/mL). Among the isolated substances, the flavonoid Tricina was shown to be active against Leishmania and non-cytotoxic. Regarding antimalarial activity, 11 extracts from 3 species, C. elliptica, C. coriaceae and C. sylvestris were shown to be active (IC50 <100 µg/mL), however, they showed high toxicity. In the antitrypanosome activity, casearins isolated from the leaves of C. sylvestris, showed great potential against the trypomastigote form of T. cruzi (IC50<3.0 µg/mL), however, they showed high toxicity. Casearia species are therefore promising in terms of their antiparasitic activity, but their toxicity is a problem. However, the flavonoids of the species have a good selectivity index and, molecular alterations and/or adequate formulations can reduce the toxicity of the other components.

Differentiation of cirrhotic patients with and without hepatic encephalopathy from the analysis of fine motor patterns: A pilot study with the Leap Motion Controller

Aim: analyze the motor precision of cirrhotic patients with or without hepatic encephalopathy (HE), in different severities, through the geospatial capture of the hands. Methodology: The target audience was patients at the Gastroenterology Service of a tertiary hospital in Northeastern Brazil. Data were collected from three groups of patients (A, unidentified EH; B, grade I EH and; C, grade II EH). Motricity data collection was performed with the Leap Motion Controller (LMC). The collected data were composed by the position of 16 points of the hands in three dimensions that, in sequence, were converted into distance between two points. Results: 60 patients with a mean age of 54.6 (± 14.7) years were included. The Kruskal-Wallis and Dunn tests indicated differences in the medians of the variables for the three groups (p < 0.05). The graphical representations show a difference in motor precision between the groups in an index of 100% of the variables, with variations with a tendency of C > B > A in 87.5% of the cases. The frequency of movement of the fingers, of both hands, had the potential to differentiate the groups. Direction is more discriminating than position and speed. Conclusion: The results suggest the possibility of differentiating the classes of patients and that the progression of motor deviation is one of the complications of the worsening of the disease.

Epidemiological analysis of outbreaks of Foodborne Diseases (DTAs) in the state of Piauí between the years 2015 to 2019

This study aimed to analyze the epidemiological profile of foodborne disease outbreaks in the state of Piauí between the years 2015 to 2019. Information from the Notifiable Disease Information System (SINAN) database was used. of the TABNET program, using electronic means. As it is a public domain database, made available by the Unified Health System (SUS), there was no need to submit the work to the Ethics and Research Committee (CEP). This is a descriptive, ecological, retrospective study with a quantitative approach to secondary data. The analyzed data regarding the outbreaks of Foodborne Diseases (FDAs) in the state of Piauí, reported between the years 2015 to 2019, showed a large number of underreporting, few laboratory identifications, only 12.5%, consequently making the characterization minimal of the etiological agents and making it impossible to classify the DTAs. In addition, in most cases 78.95%, the food that causes the health problem is ignored, contributing to the lack of knowledge of the origin and preventing actions to control production and makes it difficult to clarify the population about the care they should take in order to reduce the risks.

Analysis of drug consumption that suffered changes in its health regulation during the COVID-19 pandemic

The pandemic caused by COVID-19 brought a great concern to the population and its governments, as its spread is accelerated. In this context, a safe and effective treatment becomes urgent to treat and reduce probable complications, which can reduce the mortality caused by the disease. Drugs such as chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine began to be tested, these drugs were previously used around the world in the treatment of malaria and rheumatologic diseases. The study aims to analyze the consumption of medicines that underwent changes in their health regulations during the COVID-19 pandemic. An exploratory, retrospective descriptive study was carried out, and the methodological procedure was documentary in the evaluation of sales records of a drugstore in Teresina – PI. Therefore, it was found that during the study period, total sales equal to 5,526 of the drugs ivermectin, nitazoxanide and hydroxychloroquine were made. The results show a variation in drug sales, influenced by the increase and reduction of fatal cases at COVID-19. The use of these medications without a prescription from a qualified professional can cause serious damage to health and may even lead to death.

Neuropsychology of the frontal lobe and III functional brain unit: A Luria’s studies and perspectives for the clinic approach

The russian Alexander Romanovich Luria, commonly credited as the father of modern neuropsychology, was responsible for the greater understanding of human psychic and behavioral processes. Through studies on brain injuries, Luria tried to generate an integrative and logical theory for brain functions, in other words, to develop further technical studies on mental functions. To this end, he divides the general brain activities into three units, the first having the function of maintaining surveillance, the second being responsible for obtaining, processing, integrating and storing the information provided by the environment, and the third unit is responsible to plan, execute and direct the pattern of human behavior. Thus, the aim of this study is to review the frontal lobe (FL) neuropsychology and to associate it with the third functional unit of Luria. The references of the book "The Working Brain" were used. In the end, it was possible to conclude from Luria's conceptions that the third functional unit is responsible for the stimuli synthesis, preparation for action, program constructions, verification of the activity’s ways, generation of activation process linked to the most complex conscious actions and a speech collaboration.

Environmental contaminants: effects of microplastics on aquatic and terrestrial organisms

Intensified in the 18th century, environmental contamination has grown progressively around the world, radically generating toxic waste that proliferates every year. Among the most worrying pollutants of today, we highlight microplastics, small pieces of plastics less than 5 mm in diameter. The present work aims to carry out a literary survey focused on environmental impacts, showing the effects of microplastic on aquatic and terrestrial organisms. The search for the theoretical references used was carried out on websites of complete reliability, and scientific articles, dissertations and e-books were pre-selected for analysis. The criteria established for choosing the revised material came from reading the title and abstract. Given the analyzed literature, it was clearly noticeable that microplastics negatively affect directly and / or indirectly aquatic and terrestrial organisms, with ingestion being the main route of biotic contamination.

Evaluation of the agronomic efficacy of phosphatic limestone in phenological and productive development of sugarcane

The objective of this experiment was to evaluate the efficiency of calcareous rock material with phosphite in the nutritional and fertility benefits that can be provided by phosphate dolomytic limestone, originating in the municipality of Bodoquena/MS, using sugarcane culture (Saccharum spp) IAC variety-85-3396, as indicator species of nutritional efficiency. The study was conducted in soil classified as Oxisol of clayey texture, and the treatments consisted of 4 doses of limestone (0, 1, 2 and 4 t/ha) with two concentrations of phosphite (4% of P2O5 and 8% P2O5). The treatments were distributed in the field according to an experimental design of randomized blocks with 4 replications. The liming was applied toss on the surface of the plots and incorporated into the layer from 0 to 20 cm, with light gradation and after leveling. The results were submitted to variance analysis and, when presenting significant difference, they were submitted to regression analysis at 5 % significance. The results showed that the materials tested were efficient as correctives of soil acidity, exchangeable calcium and magnesium levels in the soil and provided an increase in the phosphorus available to the plants.

Vibrotactile Assistive Technology for the musical education of the deaf

The aim of this paper was to analyze the possibilities and limitations of vibrotactile Assistive Technology for the musical education of the deaf. We adopted the assumptions of quantitative research, through the bibliometric approach (Ângulo-Cuentas et al., 2018), as well as those of qualitative research, through the Textual Discursive Analysis (ATD) proposed by Moraes and Galiazzi (2006). The scope of the bibliometric search comprised 721 scientific articles indexed to the PubMed platform. The results showed that the scientific articles that research the intersection of music and deafness deal mainly with cochlear implants, the perception of hearing, tone and speech in human beings of both biological sexes and of varying ages, however, we noted the scarcity of research on the use of vibrotactile Assistive Technology in this area. Thus, after inserting the descriptors tactile or vibrotactile, we analyzed, through ATD, 7 articles indexed to the Pubmed platform and 5 articles indexed to the Web of Science. We conclude that, despite being incipient, the vibrotactile Assistive Technology can contribute to the musical education of the deaf.

Health determinants and cardiovascular risk factors in medicine students: A narrative review of the literature

Objective: To evaluate, through a literature review, health determinants and factors related to cardiovascular changes in medical students. Methodology: a search was made in the databases of Medline (PubMed) and Scielo, using the descriptors: “cardiovascular diseases”, “medical students” and “risk factors” in Portuguese and “cardiovascular diseases”, “medical students” and “risk factors”, in English. The inclusion criteria were: to be articles in English, Portuguese or Spanish; be a study with adults; be related to the object of study; as well as having full text and published between the years 2014 to 2021. This process resulted in 11 articles eligible for full reading and analysis. Results and discussions: Coelho et al. (2005) and Schimidt et al. (2011) cited a greater sedentary lifestyle linked to less time available, and a high level of stress-related to study load among medical students. As for overweight, data by Jardim et al. (2014) revealed that university education in the health field did not interfere with the increase in the prevalence of excessive weight gain over the years. Conclusion: Among the factors that could explain the medical students' exposure to cardiovascular risk factors are arterial hypertension, poor diet, sedentary lifestyle, dyslipidemia, stress, and metabolic changes. About the higher prevalence or cardiovascular risk factors in male students, it is possible that this results from a greater exposure to alcoholism and smoking.

Vaccine coverage for polio in the Brazilian Amazon and the risks to the reintroduction of poliovirus

Objective: To analyze the vaccination coverage for polio and the surveillance strategy of Acute Flaccid Paralysis (FAP) in the Brazilian Amazon, from 2010 to 2019. Methodology: Cross-sectional observational study with descriptive and analytical aspect of the time series of routine vaccination coverage for Inactivated Polio Vaccine (VIP) and Oral Polio Vaccine (PWV) and the incidence coefficient/100,000 inhabitants of the PFA notifications from 2010 to 2019. Results: Low vaccine coverage was observed for both vaccines in the states and municipalities, maximum mean for OR and minimum for PA: 104.2% and 78.7% for VIP; 84.1% and 55.1% for PWV, respectively, presenting heterogeneity and dropout rate for both vaccines and all states classified as very high risk for polio transmission. Regarding the notifications of PFA, there were 591 reported cases, with a higher incidence coefficient in the range of 1 to 4 years (13.8/100,000inhab), with most of the outcomes without confirmation for wild poliovirus, therefore, discarded. However, it calls attention to "vaccine-associated" and "inconclusive" cases that correspond to the sum of 2% and 5.7% in the analyzed period, respectively. Conclusion: We observed low vaccine coverage for VIP and PWV, lack of homogeneity in vaccine coverage, increased rate of dropout, and high risk of disease transmission, in addition to low-sensitivity surveillance of AFP. Thus, increased vulnerability and susceptibility to poliovirus reintroduction.
