Introduction: This text describes the study conducted by the author on Signify's business to create a partnership with distributors to operate in the lighting projects segment. Methodology Used: It was followed the problem-solving and opportunity-taking method proposed by Marcondes, Miguel, Franklin, and Perez (2017). Investigated Context: The lighting market has changed significantly after the LED introduction, allowing the participation of several new entrants, a fact that has hampered the business growth of and pressured the profitability of leading multinational in the segment. As a result Signify identified the potential to serve and create vale in projects wiht Luminaire and Connected Systems. Situation Diagnosis: It was started by analyzing the market, segment trends and reflection on the Signify and its distributors positioning. Afterwards, it was sought to understand the needs of end customers and the service conditions of customers, distributors and the company itself, in order to formulate a business model that could meet the expectations and requirements of medium complexity projects. Proposed Intervention: Based on the diagnosis, and innovative business model was proposed to offer on demand solutions and projects via the Distribution channel (Prof Trade), combining the company´s need to seek new business through differentiated offers to customers and develop this channel with a focus on projects. The model evolved throgh the definition and operation with distribution channel with a pilot to analyze its operational and financial viability. Obtained Results: Even in the pandemic period, the business model has achieved convincing results with partnerships already in place with two distributors and the contracting of two shared resources. In addition, the first project sales have been already occurred and delivered, and previous analysis indicates sustainable continuity in the company's business. Technological, Economic and Social Impact: This project has proven to be sustainable and in alignment with Signify's strategic objectives and with the market trend, and it can provide in the medium term a considerable increase in the company's revenues and its distributors, as well as improved profitability. It can also enhance partnerships with distributors, strengthening the brand in the market. This amplifies the project's potential impact and the relevance in the economic dimension, but also technological (through the incentive to new technologies) and social (generation of jobs in the distributor's area).

One of the most important ways to finance consumers in the Brazilian market is the consumer credit offered in store. Provided by independent or captive finance companies, the consumer credit is normally granted or denied without taking into account its effect on the retailer s profitability. Denying credit to finance a high profit margin product is more damaging to the companies profits than if such refusal is about the sale of lower margin product. This suggests that there is an opportunity to improve the profitability in this sales channel. The objective of this research was to check the possibility to increase the Brazilian retailers profitability by introducing the retail products operating margin as an additional parameter of the consumer credit analysis. Simulations using tangents to ROC curves, as proposed by Stein (2005), made possible to confirm, through a new balance of type I and type II errors, that the maximization of corporate earnings occurs when using operating retail margins for determining cutoffs in consumer credit models.

The Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) refer to a condition neurodevelopmental with a clinical aspects characterised by persistents comunication and social interation deficits, with repetitive and limited behaviour, interests and activities pattern. These symptons are presented since the childhood beginning and limite and prejudice the daily workings. The objective of this research is to enable health professionals according to the Behavioral Assessment Protocol for Children referred for a possible Autism Spectrum Disorder (PROTEA-R) and testing of this capacity. Twenty four professionals of the multidisciplinary team of CAISM attended this research. This research was divided in four stages. Stage 1 (Pre): PROTEA-R protocal application scoring in ASD suspect children. In this stage the level of abilities and capacities that CAISM professionals had, related to the compromised areas of ASD contained in the PROTEA-R, were valuated. Stage 2 (PROTEA-R training) The training of the professionals that attended to the pre-test of the PROTEA-R use. It was accomplish 7 an eight hours training. Stage 3 (Post) Scoring of PROTEA-R protocol application in children with ASD suspicion. In this stage the CAISM professionals abilities and capacities level, was reevaluated, related to the compromised areas of ASD contained in the PROTEA-R. Stage 4 (Follow-up) After one year of the training the stage 4 was accomplish to test the knowledge stability obtained in the stage post training. In the present research 99% of the professionals considered the PROTEA-R protocol as a very relevant tool for ASD diagnoses and 90% considered the Protocol as an excellent tool. In general the training was well accepted and well evaluated by the CAISM professionals, with over 90% considered the training excellent. In general didn’t happened expressive statistic differences in the stages Pre, Post training and Follow-up. Despite the expected result hadn’t been achieved with the improvement of the trained professionals performance, we believe that if the professionals have had more time for scoring in the three stages of the research and if the protocol was applied as done in practice, the professionals have had scored with a multidisciplinary eye, and the results would be satisfactory.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the theme of the custody hearings with a focus on the challenges for its effective implementation in Brazil. In order to do so, the evolution of human rights, especially freedom, physical integrity and life, in face of state arbitrariness, was first tackled, until the phase of international law that conceived standards of protection of the same rights was adopted. The period of world wars was highlighted as a determining factor in the uprising of the brakes on the power of nation-states. Thus, the era of Humanitarian Law was reached, culminating, among others, in the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and especially in the American Convention on Human Rights, also known as the Pact of St. Joseph of Costa Rica. The latter two, and other treaties, expressly contemplated the custody hearing with faint prediction differentiations, which were punctuated and discussed. Next, the structural characteristics of the custody‟s hearing, more precisely definition, legal nature, principles, purposes, fences and the meaning of the term "without delay" were discussed. In that detail, it was recalled that Brazil already provided for the control of procedural caution and a mechanism to curb any abuse in the act of capture, namely, the conversion of mere detention into custody in flagrante delicto, a task of a jurisdictional nature delegated to the police authority since ancient times in Brazilian legal history. After that, the challenges overcome were overcome in the arduous task of making the custody hearings possible in the country. Therefore, the beginning of the activities of the so-called "Custody Hearings" project, launched on February 6, 2015, was initiated, based on an agreement involving, at the federal level, the National Justice Council and the Ministry of Justice and, at the state level of São Paulo, Public Ministry, Court of Justice, State Government, Public Defender and OAB. The project was successful, achieving full installation on October 14, 2015, with the signing of the respective endorsement by the District Court of Brasilia. Finally, statistical data related to the custodial audience, mostly quantitative imbricated to the cost of the provisional prison for the Brazilian´s penitentiary system, were collationed in order to try to prove its economic-financial sustainability and to qualify this eminent public policy as an inexorable and salutary fact to the Development of criminal justice.

Based on the findings made by companies of the Japanese Mitsui Group, regarding the scarcity of high-quality and performance transgenic soybean seeds, used by companies in the Brazilian market, which seek productivity above the market average, to act as a seed producer, adding value to the company's business, in a market in full expansion, which is expected to grow 30% in ten years, according to a recent forecast by the Ministry of Agriculture. In order to produce soybeans above the market average, it is necessary to have seeds with good germination, high vigor, great productive potential, standard size, properly treated chemically and free of pests and diseases. However, due to the Brazilian tropical climate, it is very difficult to achieve these qualities in large seed lots, and the Federal District is considered one of the best areas for seed production. After understanding the situation and elaborating an economic study and evaluating its viability with the company Schneider Agronegócios, holding of agricultural enterprises, it was possible to confirm the real opportunity to add value to the business of the company with the production of these seeds of high quality level , in a market that has been remunerating the specialized suppliers considerably, with a bonus around 55% on the price of soybeans, and the company can add to its business a Net Present Value of R $ 27 million in the next ten years, as presented in detail, in this work. Although agribusiness is a long-term transaction, with annual cycles, the return on investment to the shareholder, predicted in two productive cycles, is equivalent to two crops, with an Internal Rate of Return of 234.7%, may this work contribute to other ventures, in similar conditions, that seek to add value to the business. Although it can be considered quite replicable, the applicability of this proposal needs to be very well planned and tailored for each venture, as there are a reasonable number of complexities in the way that need to be overcome. But part of a project that results in a clear transformation of an entire business, through physical change and a whole new structure, in which the results begin to appear in the whole supply chain and value added, and stakeholders supporting their implementation and achievement, has become extremely rewarding. This, despite the difficulties inherent in the proposal's idealization, its development and, especially, approval and alignment around the various stakeholders involved, especially the level of innovation considered for this proposal, which has a new look at this type of enterprise - a new business model.

This research approaches, in addition to traits common to other countries, the particularities and specificities of Brazil that show the role played by the Judiciary in our society. It has been verified that the recent role of the Judiciary is not only necessary, but not random or sought by judges, but rather the result of progressive changes that have occurred institutionally, functionally and normatively. The thesis presents, therefore, a diagnosis in view of the transformations that occurred after the 1988 Constitution, mainly due to the increase of social rights’ judicialization, as well as the challenges faced by the Judiciary for its democratic performance

O presente estudo deu base à produção do livro-reportagem “Infâncias transgressoras: Histórias de crianças além das estatísticas”. A peça teve como objetivo o retrato de mulheres trans e travestis a partir da perspectiva de seu crescimento e adolescência, ilustrando vidas jovens que sofreram os perigos e obstáculos de viver no Brasil, país que mais mata mulheres trans no mundo, segundo apuração da organização internacional Transgender Europe. A perguntaproblema que circundou o trabalho foi como produzir um relato humanizado, que fosse além das brutais estatísticas que os veículos midiáticos cobrem acerca do cotidiano trans. Por meio de uma série de entrevistas, o livro apresenta personagens, reconstrói trajetórias e dá nomes a uma parcela da população socialmente negligenciada. Aliando dados factuais às realidades das fontes, a obra é capaz de problematizar a transfobia institucional, com o intuito de suscitar no leitor o entendimento da urgência de políticas públicas para proteção da população travesti e transexual brasileira.

The process of image binarization consists of transforming a color image into a new one with only two colors: black and white. This process is an important step for many modern applica-tions such as Check Clearance, Optical Character Recognition and Handwriting Recognition. Improvements in the automatic process of image binarization represent impacts on applications that rely on this step. The present work proposes a methodology for automatic image binariza-tion. This methodology applies supervised learning algorithms to binarize images and consists of the following steps: images database construction; extraction of the region of interest; pat-terns matrix construction; pattern labelling; database sampling; and classifier training. Experi-mental results are presented using a database of Brazilian bank check images and the competi-tion database DIBCO 2009. In conclusion, the proposal demonstrated to be superior to some of its competitors in terms of accuracy and F-Measure.

O presente trabalho analisa de que forma o Brasil aborda a proteção à maternidade e as relações de trabalho, destacando as normas jurídicas previstas pela Consolidação das Leis do Trabalho, bem como as convenções internacionais que foram ratificadas pelo nosso país e evidencia a importância do Marco Legal da Primeira Infância para responsabilizar toda a sociedade pelo cuidado com a proteção à maternidade. Com isso, apresentada a realidade brasileira e aborda os impactos do ambiente de trabalho na maternidade, destacando as formas de discriminação sofridas pelas mulheres que são mães, bem como a influência do meio ambiente de trabalho no cotidiano das mulheres que são gestantes ou já têm filhos. Analisa, ainda, as maneiras como as empresas podem contribuir para a garantir que as mulheres empregadas possam gozar dos direitos fundamentais que lhe são previstos, ressaltando a importância da promoção de ações estejam além dos dispositivos previstos pela legislação. Por fim, apresenta empresas que são modelos na proteção à maternidade, eis que oferecem às suas empregadas benefícios além dos que estão previstos pelo nosso ordenamento jurídico e que atendem, de forma mais eficaz, as necessidades dessas mulheres em seu cotidiano.
