O "fardo" da velhice e do envelhecimento: subjetividades e políticas públicas no Brasil

In the burden of the oldness and aging: subjectivities and public politics in Brazil, we studied the aspects related to the elderly as subjects from the present time. It is analyzed in this paper, the subjectivity of being elder, the multiplicity of this condition, the difficulty of categorization of the oldness as a social problem. The increase of life expectancy has been considered an obstacle to the public account. We started from this analysis in order to discuss the Welfare State, an institution created to support workers at illness, oldness, and death but then used for financing the nation, what resulted in economical difficulties to the entity. The insufficient amount of benefits for a worthy life, and the lack of support that the elders are submitted, generate the necessity of public politics. The United Nations, in its search for the human rights respect and social progress, was an important motivator to law and public politics which has the elders as the main focus. The laws coming from the demands of the elders and their representatives, considered as citizenship aquisition, are not always respected. The cultural aspects, the stereotypes and the almost total absence of representativity can be considered as the responsible for the lack of resistance to the usage of the amount of money raised by the Welfare State to assist people in the situation of necessity, inherent to the human being.

Entre o corte da cerca e a teia da rede: desafios do MST na luta pela reforma agrária no Brasil

We aim in this thesis to analyze aspects of the transformations occurred in the MST, Movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais Sem Terra (in free translation: Rural Workers Landless Movement), from 1981 until January 2015, through its publications. We made it clear that what is presented here is a set of representations as this concept is defined by Roger Chartier of the movement about issues which we choose as relevant to understanding its dynamics in time. The central point of documentation used in the work is the Jornal dos Trabalhadores Rurais Sem Terra (in free translation: Journal of Landless Rural Workers), which has its beginning, even as a report, before the official foundation of the MST in 1984, but were also used other informational and training publications, besides its content site, which came into being in 1996. As the movement developed into a trends accent period of modernity, such as individualism, consumerism and social breakdown, trying to understand, through research, what were the impacts this situation on our subject. Therefore, the initial part of the thesis strives to clarify the main characteristics of temporality issue that could influence the MST. We follow their perceptions of land reform, the formation of their members both with regard to some forms as the ideological content its relationship with the state and the issue of violence as it is felt and performed by social subjects we set ourselves the study. In its quest to establish new relations in the field, the movement, since its inception, realized that it would be very difficult within capitalist relations, particularly in its neoliberal version, and took a discourse of class, with strong revolutionary content. The MST, thereby, with rare exceptions, always understood that the changes sought would be consolidated see the size of its force to generate them through the struggle. Since the 1980s and especially from the 90s, the movement gradually alia increasingly complex network of individuals on the planet, designated by the general term alterglobalisation which currently come together around a common theme: another world is possible . The limits and scope of this statement, as well as the ways in which the MST seeks to enter this field of struggle, are also analyzed in the work.

La Barraca Teatro Universitário : reflexões sobre encenação (Espanha 1931-1936)

THE PROTAGONIST OF this work is a theater company called La Barraca University Theatre. It was characterized by being an itinerant troupe who served in Spain in the first half of the twentieth century, between the years 1931 and 1936 The direction of this was done by Federico García Lorca, activity which he had exercised voluntarily as creator, director and actor. Our discussion of the company is appealing the consideration that, in the management of their ideals regardless of political experience, aesthetic and pedagogical, production proposed a debate with society in order to formulate a present-future using the theatrical staging. The hypothesis is that the theatrical make this company aligned to a modernization movement in Spain seeking a new national theater. The methodological approach for the development of research seeks to establish a dialogue with the reframing of staged works and the context of the scenario. The extension activity representing La Barraca University Theatre conceives a theater that values cultural elements in its own time-space of the staged spectacles proposing an instrumentalisation of popular. A theatrical performance is a here / now that converges a practice of academics and artists in an encounter with popular mutually located within a cultural program of social action during the Second Spanish Republic. Our reflection on such company considers the experience of the activities gestated in view the pedagogical experience lived in a proposed repertory theater. In selecting works for shows presented, proposing itself an appreciation of literature and the Spanish theater with the goal of formulating a present-future. The selected works are part of a preference of texts in which it is possible to establish a dialogue with the reform process in Spain back in 1931 and 1936. But beyond this, these texts have an embryo staging that dialogues with prospects of a new theater. In these circumstances, La Barraca University Theatre was an itinerant theater company that cared about art, but if characterized as a means of communication between intellectuals, artists and popular in social action whose course was directed to the promotion of a production aimed at popularization of the national theater.

Globalização, Neoliberalismo e lutas de classes no Brasil (1990-2010)

This work was aimed at the history of the present in a marxist construction highlighting globalization as an ongoing process since the first expansion of the capitalist market and neo-liberalism as a step in this process which has focused the expansion of the financial market and also expansion of transnational and multinational companies that hold considerable power over the peripheral countries of the system. We think Brazil in this process the decades of 1990-2010 by economic and political issues that have contributed significantly to the country to be inserted into the neoliberal economic policies. Construction work is the centrality of class struggle as a necessary condition to understand the contradictions of capitalism at the same time that help reflect the conditions of the working class.

This research has the purpose of problematizing the history of the work and the workers in the confluence region of the borders of Salto del Guairá/Paraguay, Guaíra and Mundo Novo/Brazil in the period of 1960 to 2015. In order to that, we analyzed the relations between the processes of construction and assimilation of the definition of what would be the border, the criminalization of the social practices and the organization of the working worlds in the region. Through the analysis of oral and documental sources, we reflected about the changes in the living and working in the border and verified that these changes are not only reduced to modifications in the law and economy, but also in the historical meanings attributed to the border itself.

Museus universitários e políticas públicas : gestão, experiências e dilemas na Universidade Federal de Uberlândia, 1986-2010

The current scenario of museum policies in Brazil results from intense discussions and collective demands. The advances made in the government of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, with the institutionalization of structural and legal marks of support and the implementation of public policies within the museum field, do not seem to have produced impacts and changes in practices developed by museums linked to public universities. This study aimed to understand the situation experienced by Federal University of Uberlândia s museums, above all Museu do Índio (Indian museum): its challenges and contradictions in such policies. In light of theoretical conceptions related to heritage, culture, and museum policy, this study aimed to assess whether these museums keep attuned to such indicators. It also relied on references from the fields of history, museum studies, anthropology, and sociology. The thesis presents the course of cultural, heritage, and museum development policies in Brazil to contextualize its perspectives, its setbacks, and its achievements. In addition, it shows hardships experienced by this university museums its impasses and restrictions concerning the institution that houses them and the possibilities of overcoming these obstacles.

Periferia com o poder da palavra: a poética dos rappers brasileiros

The thesis put forward here is that the rap in Brazil characterized itself as a kind of critical awareness of the periphery and for the periphery. The composers and, in a sense, its public, worked to formulate a symbolic field, while at the same time practical, in which the voice and music production synthesized reflection on aspects of the contemporary world. In this process, the rappers have emerged as legitimate voices in approach and production of social reading, assuming, in their own way, the role of interpreters / storytellers of their time, whose source is the immediate history. The argument involves many movements. It involves the practice that establishedthe idea of the power of the words as a fundamental value among the supporters of this culture, within which the rappers acted as historians of the present time and as carrier leaders of certain \"truths\", built on their concrete experiences within the tangle of contradictions that is the social life. By reflecting on society itself and its history, they have shaped cutting specific narratives and compelling, something that had little or nothing in common to other speeches. Through it, MCs allowa glimpse of the development of the complex notions of identity and territorial belonging. Beside this, the thesis analyzes the undigested feelings that emerged in the rap universe. In this step, it shows in detail why the belief of developments in the power of the word are usually not seen with good eyes, especially when the role of speech involves sensitive matters such as the aggressive questioning of the status quo and accountability of individuals or groups for the social illness, thrusts a certain revenge (of class, in particular). The thesis also is appealing to different representations of the female shown in rap lyrics and explores macho attitudes, sexist and sometimes misogynistic installed between rappers. Simultaneously detects some cracks in the maledominated field, with women who have broken, even if partially, with the domination to which they are submitted and with the speech and hegemonic values. Finally, the thesis aims to show how the dissonant voices of rappers are part of a community sense and are at the center of an intricate network of communication and sharing of ideas that has, in the music, its main platform. It is time to point out how the voice of a rapper dialogue with the production of others (directly or indirectly), because such voices are not isolated and therefore often pack a collective work that goes beyond boundaries of time and space.

Zé Ninguém : trajetória de um comunista no interior de São Paulo (1915/1985)

This thesis which is the result of research conducted over the past four years seeks to understand the meaning of being a communist in a peripheral space of a Third World country, from what a particular agent lived and thought. We refer to the artist José Coimbra Sobrinho who born in rural zone, was migrant by imposition and communist militant for devotion. Poor man, which due circumstances became servitor in a public school and thus devoted himself to politics, painting canvases by oil paint and thinking the world, the world which he experienced not without some disenchantment. Thus, Experience, Resistance, Moral Economy are some basic concepts which together to the Microanalysis sustain our line of reasoning. Therefore, we intend to propose that the use of Communism by this protagonist and the peculiarities that result from it, offers us a reinterpretation of the same communist theory with the possibility of finding unorthodox modes of agency such as the art and even the very life of the militants.

A miséria da teologia: um estudo sobre práticas e praticantes da religiosidade pentecostal

This thesis is the result of a study that sought to understand and discuss how and why men and women, mostly workers, commit to a religiosity, recognized as Pentecostal. It is understood that arrangements are established expression and protest of a historical time, serving as an important way to understand the social fabric built in recent decades by different social subjects. The text is organized into four chapters and as a main argument, seeks to recognize how religiosity served/serves as a culpability space, mingled with the social and cultural conditions of the time. Going forward, it is an environment also claim that, aware of their conditions, men and women seek to deny the world in which they live and overcome it at any cost from the social and cultural conditions of each. The unfolding of this condition are other aspects of the pentecostal developed in the country in the last four decades. Unlike other religiousness, Pentecostal churches have turned to proselytizing practices with massive use of media and theater actions means. By extending the look, it is perceived as behind the scenes of the churches of prosperity, such as the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God, International Grace World, among others, political disputes are noticeable between ministers and workers who galgam conditions and social situations by through the office of faith. Although many are chosen few attain some material prosperity. The last aspect investigated and questioned here are the political relations established in the kingdom behind the scenes, and has, as its objective, think how men and women can understand the arrangements established between party politics and the doctrine of prosperity Pentecostalism. When you cut the last decade, it is noted as the Brazilian political scene was associated with the Pentecostal environment, and in this study, seek to understand and discuss how men and women fit into this social fabric. This thesis has the purpose to criticize / combat religions, but develop a critical and political look at the cold, raw and heartless world, able to serve as a vector to express religiousness that such a historical moment. What remains, as a defense, is to share the aspiration of utopias that can be real, possible and concrete.

Legalidade vs legitimidade: representações sobre a democracia no movimento de luta pela terra (assentamento Nova Tangará, Uberlândia, 1999-2005)

The present text results of a research to analyze the representations of the democracy generated in the conflict in the fight for land, occurred in triângulo mineiro , mainly in Uberlândia, between 1999 and 2005. This region is known for its difficult relations between great landowners and field workers, since, at least, the 60s and 70s, more specifically, as a consequence of government policies which resulted in a benefit for those who held large properties and in some harm for the small land owners. The study is basically divided into three chapters. In the first one, there is a more pormenorized analysis of the land in the referred region, emphasizing the phases, which helps to more clearly understand the excludent factor of the land appropriation in the triângulo mineiro region in general, and in Uberlândia, more specifically. Several pieces of research carried out by students of history, economics and geography at ufu were taken into consideration. In the second chapter, through the study of the lawsuit that originated from a farm occupation by members of a movement of land dispute, some representations which are present in the referred region both of members of the movement and landowners can be assimilated. It is important to ratify that the main theoretical apparatus used to forger such representations was historian roger chartier´s book. At last, in the third chapter, based on the same document in a centered way, there was an analysis of the conflict itself, when the parts explictly direct to each other. In a second part of this chapter a debate with some theoreticians was held in order to draw some conclusions, always insufficient and susceptible to responses, concerning the role of social movements, mainly when those make use of acts of dissidency , in the construction of images and the proper consolidation of democracy, while a social experience.

Para além das fronteiras: culturas e experiências de trabalhadores latino-americanos: Uberlândia, 1990/2007

This research has as central point of reflection concerning the experiences of Latin American workers (not-Brazilians) in our country, more specifically in the city of Uberlândia-MG. They are workers who had come from Peru, Chile, Argentina, Equator and Uruguay and work mainly producing and/or selling handicrafts. I investigate the social meanings, the tensions gifts in the relations established for them in its trajectories, memories and cultures, the disputes for the spaces of the city, the fight for the right to the work and the respect to its differences. Attempting to understand the social dynamics lived by these citizens, I tried to reflect on the manner such they produce and they transform the spaces of the city by means of their works and constituted relations. Moreover, I analyze the relations that they constitute, since the exit of their countries, as one way to make possible to them to obtain work, housing and to continue their journeys and/or to remain. It is noteworthy that the main concern questions was around themselves growing as human being of these social citizens, therefore the given importance to their ways of living and working, to the way as they conceive their life and the meaning attributed to themselves works. Among a variety of possibilities of analysis that the sources had opened, as well as what I desired to interrogate on research beginning, I point the problematic one of handicrafts production, which stimulates their journeys, besides make possible to them resisting and evading excluding laws that place them as illegal . Among used sources there are oral narratives produced with the workers, the Foreigner s Statute, the Periodical Correio de Uberlândia, photographs published in this newspaper and others produced by me, became possible to reflect on what means the presence of these citizens in the city of Uberlândia, how they ve seen by public power and the society in general, how these workers present themselves, which is the meaning of their itinerant way of life and which are the limits and possibilities of this life.

Nas linhas da literatura: um estudo sobre as representações da escravidão no romance O mulato, de Aluísio Azevedo

Throughout this paper, departing from the relation between history and literature, I discuss the representations of slavery present in the novel O mulato, by Aluísio Azevedo. I analyze how slavery and the subjects linked to it are represented in a moment when the intellectuals, thinking of new bases for the nation, inquired the society in which they lived, articulating in a complex way the positivist discussion, which legitimated their discourses in a pattern that could no make it impossible the development of a project of nation, considering the miscegenation of the population. For this study, I dialog with different documentations: newspapers, memory books, letters and mainly the very work O mulato. I evidence different editions of the text, especially the first one, which presents fundamental elements for the understanding of the book repercussion, particularly the critic to slavery in that edition, which assumes different proportions in the subsequent editions.

Os Confins de Mário Palmério: história e literatura regional

This dissertation focuses on regional history and literature, using for this the book Vila dos Confins, Mario Palmério, published by Editora Bookstore Jose Olympio, in the year 1956. The aim was to understand the conditions under which it was written, the historical context in which they formed, what was the reception to the book of a politician who treated politics as fiction. The issue that Palmério showed in his narrative was historically formed and registered somehow the social context of its own existence. The literary process of Vila dos Confins was approached by two moments, the writing and the reading. The first one about the relation to the moment of creation, that received influences of the time and society context where Mário Palmério lived; and the second for the receipt and the vitality of the work, the process of reading and interpretation of its readers and critics. In this analysis will find the Confins and its roots, putting the work and researching regionalism as literary movement. Vila dos Confins politicians stratagems and presents frauds occurred in an election for mayor in a small town of Minas Gerais. Palmério wrote a book of his era, considered by some literary critics as a testimonial. Consistent with its social place explained, in the form of fiction, the politics as the Brazilians knew. He brought to the surface the simple life inside of Brazil that found itself in development, but still had its roots and memory. However, although the politics has been dealt with similarity, there was no involvement, was not given ideology. The readers and literary critics gave meaning, they confer on book the readability recognized in themselves and After decipher them, they attributed meaning to the system of signs. They looked to Brazil around them and thought about what they were and where they were. a reception was verified in the sense that it caused and triggered in the receiver, through the text, from simple understanding to the diversity of reactions provoked by it. The year to launch the book was the year of the professionalization of literary criticism in newspapers and magazines and this helped in the large selling of the book. The presence of critical analyses in newspapers and the appearence of literary supplements was highly beneficial to the literature as a whole in the end of this decade.
