This paper seeks to reflect on the experiences, culture and livelihoods of workers bordering the Old Chico in San Francisco in the north of Minas Gerais. I try to think about the trajectory of these workers, by striking presence on the streets of the city and the importance of these activities, as areieiros, fishermen and vazanteiros. The years between 1980 and 2011 are striking, because in this timeline, I attempt to analyze and understand the experiences, everyday struggles, changes and continuities in the ways of living of these workers. All this historical process lived is marked by important changes in these years, among them we can emphasize the consolidation of the riparian rights of employees, such as the Secure closed season, analyzing the strategies developed by them in an environment marked by strife, conflict, change and permanence of subjects which constitute the search. From the 1990s, the income transfer programs such as Bolsa Família, become of paramount importance and therefore earn dimensions present in the memories produced by workers and, before this transformation process, aware of the impacts of these policies which reorders the present.

This work shows the meanings which envolves some conflicts happened in the past between the Saint Benedict and Our Mother of Rosary Fraternity and some groups of Congado that had and still have various forms of disputes. These disputes come from the cultural living facts and are showm through images, testimonies and diverging memories. J also present some aspects in the production of discourses through oral testeimonies concerning to the transformation that occurs nowadays and how these questions and the tradition that gives sense to this practice are perceived by the different characters. Finally J reinforce some kinds of socio-cultural productions by the groups of Congado during many months of the year that demonstrates that the participants or congadeiros have an active cultural life in the city not only at those forty days organizing the Congado party. The chronological period covers the disputes during Saint Benedict and Our Mother of Rosary party from the 1950 s until the present days.

This paper discusses the process of transformation in the relations of labor and production that occurred in Santa Juliana mainly from the year 1997, whereas this process, it seems, is directly linked to the need of manpower for the job crops in the area. We seek to understand how these changes were processed addressing the interests involved by both workers and managers on the part of the municipality and the landowners. From the trajectory of different workers seek to understand the dynamics of labor exploitation in the field justified, or rather guided by the notion of protecting and improving the environment. Therefore, to understand how the transformation proceed in the social, economic and cultural city as well as understanding the meanings attributed to this new dynamic in the constitution of local residents by both older and younger, and by workers coming from other regions of the country are issues in this investigation.

This dissertation aims at analysing how metallurgy workers in São José dos Campos perceived and, through their experiences, interpreted changes happening in the city (along with urbanization process) as well as in their work (along with industrialization and production restructure process) from the seventies until today. By connecting to oral narratives of metallurgy workers who lived end live this process, we understand how they interpret changes to their way of life and work in the city. This dissertation also analyses written sources like São José dos Campos local press news and metallurgy syndicate s newspaper, O Metalúrgico , mainly in the Dito Bronca section, a space where workers send their complaints and denunciation about daily life facts. Although most of their complaints are about what goes inside the workplace in the industry, denunciation about their immediate chiefs, there is evidence about the living dimension of these metallurgy workers out of their workplace as the problem of working far from home and the worker s disputes for leasure. I looked forward to facing these workers actions in the working place, as well as their home place, in the suburbs. This leads to the analysis of their living habits, of which not only strikes and manifestations are evident, but also their fight for improvements in the quarter, leasure, expectations, rhythm of work, feeding, among others. This dissertation is organized in three chapters: Chapter I: Follows the life and work paths of these metallurgy workers connecting them to the urbanization process of their city, São José dos Campos; Chapter II: Analyses the transformation process of the work in the industry, referenced by the experiences of theses workers. Chapter III: Deals with their significant fight and organization in times of deep changes in the city.

The present work seeks to enlarge the discussion about the several transformations that happened in the work relationships inside the Franca footwear industries. To better understand such transformations the research was developed over the many transformations occurred in the city, since the geographical displacement of the industrial pole, until the places that were of great importance in the life of the francanos workers, as the Praça Nossa Senhora da Conceição, the heart of the city. The process of productive reorganization of the footwear industry was marked by the machinery modifications, by the subcontracting process of the productive sector parts (followed by the intense impoverishment of the work starting from 1990 decade) and by the organizational reorganization inside the companies, that reflected in a new form of the worker to exert their functions in the footwear industries. The workers demonstrated, through their experiences, how the alterations in their lives had happened inside of this so important productive footwear pole that Franca became. Moving by your people's power and generating and attracting more and more labor force, the city became world-wide known for the shoes production, mainly the masculine ones. In the "City of the Shoe" the shoemakers lived changes, organized themselves, searched and formed syndical union and political representations, and went to the streets to fight and bleed for their sacred rights of worker.

In this present dissertation I present the results of the reflections that came from a research with juvenile delinquents who have committed some infractions in law, arrested because of crimes in a institution that applies socio-educative solutions : CISAU (Centro de Integração Social de Uberlândia) in Uberlândia, state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The interviews and observations in loco made between 2002 and 2003 guided the reflections of this study about an important question in contemporary history. This text was written in an essay way, bringing the points of the study in a sequence technically different from an usual form of a master dissertation. The essay has the intention of giving to the text a more interesting presentation to explain the most provocative questions showed by these studies. I intent to present a historical reflection that considers the subjectivity in the building of the history weft. The contributions of the history of sensitivities define the chooses for feelings born in a prison reality, where the human rights questions are emphasized and where we see the need of considering them. When we give the chance to these teenagers to speak about themselves, it was one of the few times when they could talk with their own words about their situation. It was also possible to arise serious questions about the prison reality. To watch their world which yet temporary beyond the walls of an institution that calls itself corrective, was an important task, considering that all notions built about juvenile delinquents come from another people, since the occurrence bulletin made sometimes invented - by policemen, passing through the institution of criminal process, full of lawyer, prosecutor and judge words, besides recorder words (legal agents who print on their words their prejudice), to the record of the teenagers activities and behavior in the institution, built by the civil servants like guardians, psychologists, social agents and others. The fear was on the stage of this historical theater, over all as a result (and sometimes as a precursor) of violent criminality, with which our actors were involved. The humiliation presented itself marked with iron in the modalities of punishments chosen to correct the law-breakers of social order stabilized. Thus, fear and humiliation were the felling elected to think about some problems that surround the historical reality analyzed. The question of human right and person right was also broached for bringing fundamental elements to understand the reality observed, in which these rights are dissolved in the bureaucracy, presenting the impossibility to make it worth to the weakest, poorest without education , subjects represented here by arrested teenagers. This discussion becomes important whereas these subjects are harmed in their human person rights, and they are not treated as human people in almost any formal situation that surround them.

This study discusses some behavioral traits, present in people with disabilities in society and, with reference to empirical Uberlândia - MG. In this sense, the concept of habitus, as Bourdieu reformulated, provides a point of view that contributes to the analysis of the particularities of a social identity, which enables the development of this identity, which can be sometimes conscious, sometimes unconscious. Hence its importance for understanding how individuals make their choices to choose some things and not others, including here, visions or values associated with the disabled. Analyze how these are perpetuated habitus or have changed over time covered by this research and how people with disabilities deal with minted disparaging representations about them, as you see, feel them, absorbing them or rejecting them? For this, experiences of these individuals, are those of accommodation, associated with feelings of loss, setbacks or failures, or, on the other hand, expressing different forms of resistance, reaching, or at least creating expectations of achievement, all will be of much relevance to what is intended with this work. Cover, analysis, and social relations of power, the social imaginary and its representations, the individual and collective actions (conscious and unconscious) of disabled people and those around them, with special emphasis in this case for the people of Uberlândia / MG. When dealing with values of contemporary society, it is impossible not to consider its ephemeral nature, its fluidity, enhancement of competitiveness and too much of the material life, those attributes that contribute heavily to the segregation and estrangement. Given the fraying of the relationship between \"self\" and \"other,\" which measures the extent of social inclusion facing people with disabilities?
