Redes neurais artificiais para predição das propriedades de transporte de vale em nanofitas de grafeno
The control of the valley degree of freedom of electrons (valleytronics) has recently emerged as a promising technology for the next generation of electronic devices; this quantum number naturally appears in periodic solids with degenerated local minima and maxima at inequivalent points of the Brillouin zone. Similar to spintronics, the applicability of valleytronics relies on the electric generation, control and detection of valley currents; in this context, 2D materials with hexagonal lattices such as graphene and transition metal dichalcogenides offer two valleys (K and K0) well separated in momentum space that can be accessed by optical, magnetic and mechanical means. Electrons in opposite valleys in graphene see in homogeneous mechanical deformation as regions with opposite polarity pseudo-magnetic fields; unfortunately, the observed effects require fine tuning of the energy, defined height/width ratio of the bubble, narrow contacts, location of the nanobubble near to the right contact and crystalline orientation. All these ingredients mix in a subtle and hidden way that it is impossible to predict the effect of a given deformation before heavy calculations. With this in mind, this problem was modeled as a supervised regression problem in which a Deep Neural Network (DNN) model was trained to learn the relationship between the design parameters of the superlattice and the valley filter effect. The dataset used in this experiment was generated using the Green’s Function. The dataset was processed, normalized and randomly split into 80% for training and 20% for testing (used to evaluate the performance of the DNN model). The results using DNN for the prediction showed accuracy measures in: R2 = 0:970 and MSE = 0:001. The DNN was able to predict the valley filter with a precision similar to the Green’s function but with much less computational effort. The DNN was then used to help in the searching for the 1D Gaussian superlattice with efficient valley filter, but with the smallest number of deformations and strain.

Indicadores de Saúde Mental e Estilos Parentais: uma comparação entre grupo de pais de crianças e adolescentes com síndrome de Williams e grupo de pais de crianças e adolescentes com queixas de desatenção e hiperatividade
Williams-Beuren Syndrome (WBS) is characterized by cognitive and behavioral alterations with various degrees of mental disorder. Its prevalence is of 1/7.500 newborns and it is caused by a microdeletion of the long arm of chromosome 7 at region 7q11.23, caused by the loss of approximately 20-23 genes which explains the broad spectrum in the presented phenotype. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) displays a persistent pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity and impulsivity. It is characterized by motor agitation, difficulty or reluctance to perform tasks that require effort and concentration; despite the absence of intellectual disability, the disorder can lead to social inability, school failure and difficulties with family relations. According to literature there is a higher prevalence of problems related to mental health and inappropriate parenting style practices in parents of children with intellectual disability. Thus, this study has the objective of assessing indicators of mental health and parenting style practices in parents of children and adolescents with WBS and intellectual disability, and to compare them with a group of parents of children with ADHD (without intellectual disability). It was used a correlational descriptive method; the sample was composed of 30 parents of children with ADHD and 24 parents of children with WBS. Data collection instruments were: Parenting Style Inventory (PSI), Family Support Perception Inventory (FSPI), Adult Self-Report 18-59 (ASR), World Health Organization Quality of Life (WHOQL-bref). Results show that despite the positive rate of adequate parenting practices by the parents of both groups, the use of negative practices was observed, including negligence and physical abuse. The group of parents (ADHD) presents deficient perception of family support and quality of live in the area of social relations. Both groups presented clinical or borderline rates of anxiety, depression and somatic complaints, this rate was higher for parents (ADHD). Therefore it was verified the need for creation of support programs that focus the dynamics and functioning of these families in order to promote mental health, quality of life and adequate parenting practices.

Um estudo sobre as diferenças no processo de third-party due diligence antes e depois da corrupção, com o objetivo de prevenir atos de corrupção nas empresas
Objective: To create a model of assessment and classification of the risk of corruption of third parties/intermediaries so that it can be applied in companies to carry out the Third-Party Due Diligence (TPDD) process in order to prevent corruption. Methodology: The study uses applied research, as it aims to generate consolidated knowledge in the form of a product (Third Party/Intermediary Corruption Risk Classification Form). The research method is the inductive one, because, by means of the verification of specific data, premises are verified that lead to probable conclusions using the qualitative approach. The research was carried out in the format of a multiple case study conducted through qualitative interviews and collection of documents from the interviewed companies. For data analysis, Iramuteq software was used, as well as manual data analysis. Results: It was noted that prior to investigations for the violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), none of the three companies interviewed had TPDD procedures. During the investigations and monitoring period, initiatives of a TPDD procedure were observed, however, still in an incipient manner and without fully following the guidelines of the anti-corruption regulators regarding the assessment and risk classification of third parties/intermediaries. After the investigations and monitoring period, it was observed that the three companies implemented a TPDD procedure following the guidelines of the anti corruption regulators. The initial step of the TPDD process, which is assessing and classifying the risks of the third parties/intermediaries was mainly captured so that the appropriate level of due diligence could be performed. The criteria used by the interviewees for the assessment and risk classification of third parties/intermediaries were captured and evaluated in the light of the theoretical reference on the topic. Practical Implications: As a product of the research, the ‘Third Parties/Intermediaries Corruption Risk Rating Form’ was created. The form is intended to classify third parties/intermediaries in a relationship of high or low risk of corruption. For the elaboration of the form, the criteria shared by the interviewees through the interviews and documents and the guidelines of the anti-corruption regulators were used. The form may be used by any company in order to initiate or improve the assessment and classification of corruption risks of its third parties/intermediaries for the realization of TPDD. Originality and contributions: No previous research was found on the difference in TPDD procedures before and after corruption cases. In addition, although the anti-corruption regulators and research institutes on the topic present the criteria to be observed during the TPDD process, in all the materials researched, the ‘how’ such information should be identified could not be found. This study aims to present in a practical manner the ‘how’ companies should use the criteria for risk assessment and classification of their third parties/intermediaries in order to prevent corruption. As a contribution, a Third Party/Intermediary Corruption Risk Classification Form was developed, using as reference the information obtained during the study and the guidance of the anti-corruption regulatory entities. As contribution, it was elaborated a form which uses as a reference the information gathered during the study (interviews and documents collected) and the guidelines of the anti-corruption regulatory agencies. The purpose of the form is to contribute to the corruption risk classification process, helping to prevent corruption

As capabilidades operacionais como fator mediador da relação entre a colaboração e o desempenho nas cadeias de suprimentos
In face of global challenges, companies seek supply chain collaboration as a way to improve their operational capabilities and obtain a higher operational performance. The objective of this study was to verify the mediation of operational capabilities in the relationship between supply chain collaboration and operational performance of capital goods companies installed in Brazil. This research was divided into three phases. In the first phase, a bibliometric analysis was carried out in the main articles related to supply chain collaboration, operational capabilities and operational performance in order to verify the different approaches of the authors on these topics. Based on the bibliometric analysis, questionnaires were elaborated for the next phase of the research. In the exploratory research, it was carried out ten interviews with coordinators, managers and directors from multinational companies of this sector, with subsequent analysis of content in order to evaluate the theoretical model and the constructs relationship, deepening knowledge from the point of view of the participating companies. Also in this phase, a closed questions survey was conducted in order to identify possible gaps unidentified on the spontaneous interview. In the third and final phase, a descriptive research was made using a data collection instrument constructed from the theoretical framework and the results of the two previous phases, with the return of 138 questionnaires. In this phase, descriptive statistics, factorial analysis and modeling of structural equations for data treatment were used. The results of descriptive statistics showed the current stage of information sharing, resource sharing and common objectives as components of collaboration in this supply chain. The hypothesis tests showed that there is a positive relationship between supply chain collaboration and operational performance (direct relationship between the constructs), between supply chain collaboration and operational capabilities and between operational capabilities and operational performance. The results also showed operational capabilities as a mediating factor in the relationship between collaboration in the supply chain and operational performance. Thus, the managers must understand these relationships to achieve better results, which necessarily needs the development and enhancement of supply chain collaboration with their main suppliers, and the understanding of the organization's operational capabilities. Finally, it suggests the continuation of this research with the expansion of the sample size, the survey replication in other sectors, new studies about the correlation between the suppliers operational capabilities and operational capabilities of purchasing companies, the verification in Brazilian companies if the operational capabilities are cumulative, complementary or exclusive and the inclusion of other elements of collaboration, such as decision synchronization, incentive alignment and joint knowledge creation in the supply chain.

Segregação urbana na contemporaneidade: o caso da Comunidade Poço da Draga na cidade de Fortaleza
The aim of this master s thesis is to examine how is set the socio-spatial segregation process of Poço da Draga Community, in Fortaleza, Brazil, and clear up the socioeconomic dynamics that are manifested in this area, from the 1990s to the present day. From the related concepts, the comprehension of urban formation process of Fortaleza and the points that highlight socio-spatial segregation in this city, we were able to made up the study of the object. In this study, we seek to understand relationship between this community and its environment over time, with special attention to recent decades, when the region becomes a target for public interventions under the discourse of "urban renewal", but incorporating large economic interests. In this scenario emerges some elements that highlight the sociospatial segregation of that community not usually present in official indicators but that is being registered by local news and academic researches, through the eyes of the inhabitants. It is observed, then, that segregation is not only associated to the lack of infrastructure and public services, or even to the precariousness of urban space, but also to the conflicting relations between the segregated areas and the society and also between the community and the government, which ignores two basic principles of urbanism: the dialogue with the population and the promotion of equality and the right to the city .
